Nad-e-Ali, ‘the calling upon Ali,’ is a well-known invocation whose words call upon Imam Ali (a) as the manifestor of wonders and a helper in difficulty, that grief and sorrow may be lifted. It is traditionally associated with the Battle of Uhud and is widely recited, though it is not found with a chain of transmission in the classical hadith collections. This is the shorter (saghir) form.
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
نَادِ عَلِیًّا مَّظْھَرَ الْعَجَآئِبِ تَجِدْہٗ عَوْنًا لَّكَ فِیْ النَّوَآئِبِ كُلُّ ھَمٍّ وَّغَمٍّ سَیَنْجَلِیْ بِعَظَمَتِكَ یَااَللہُ بِنُبُوَّتِكَ یَامُحَمَّدُ بِوِلَایَتِكَ یَاعَلِیُّ یَاعَلِیُّ یَاعَلِیُّ۔ اَللّٰھُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Naade a’liyyan mazharal a’jaaa-ebe tajidho a’wnan laka fin nawaaa-ebe kullo hammiwn wa ghammin sayanjalee be-a’zamateka yaa allaaho be nobuwwateka yaa mohammado be welaayateka yaa a’liyyo yaa a’liyyo yaa a’liyyo.
Call Ali, The Manifestor of Wonders Thou shalt find him a helper unto thee in thy difficulties Presently all worries and sorrows will be removed By thy Greatness O Lord By thy Apostleship o Muhammad By thy Authority O Ali, O Ali, O Ali Come to my help!
عجائب خدا کے جلوہ بردار علی ابن ابی طالبؑ کو ذرا پکارو تو سہی تم ہر مصیبت و بلا میں ان کو اپنا مشکلکشا پاؤگے۔ اے محمدؐ آپ کی نبوت اور اے علیؑ آپ کی ولایت سے چونکہ تمام رنج و غم کی مصیبتیں حاجتمندوں کی ناصیہ حاجت سے صاف ہو جاتی ہیں اس لئے عرض ہے کہ ہماری خبر لیجئے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
