Namaz-e-Mayyit for a woman: the funeral prayer, set out takbir by takbir.
It has no ruku and no sujud. After the first takbir comes the shahadatayn; after the second, salawat upon Muhammad and his progeny in the form that recalls Ibrahim (a); after the third, the prayer of forgiveness for the believing men and women, their living and their dead.
The fourth takbir is the one that names the deceased, and its wording is the honest one: O Allah, this is Your maidservant and she has become Your guest, and You are the best of hosts. We know nothing but good of her, and You know better than we do — if she did good, increase it; if she sinned, forgive her. It ends asking that she be gathered on the Day of Judgement with the Prophet and the purified Imams.

This namaz has no such condition of purity (tahaarat) or wuzu. Anyone reciting this namaz with the Imam has to recite himself all the below zikr (listening to the zikr is not sufficient). While praying namaz the Imam should stand facing Qibla and the mayyit should be kept in a direction that the head of a mayyit should be on the righthand side of the Imam. If the dead body is that of a male the prayer leader has to stand before its waist and if it is that of a female he should stand in front of the chest. واجب ہے کہ نماز پڑھنے والا قبلہ رخ کھڑا ہو، میت کا سر اس کی داہنی جانب ہو اور میت کو پشت کے بل لٹا یا جائے، اس نماز میں پاک ہونا شرط نہیں ہے، چنانچہ مجنب مرد، حیض والی عورت اور بے وضو شخص بھی یہ نماز پڑھ سکتا ہے ،لیکن سنت ہے کہ با وضو ہو کر پڑھی جائے اگر پانی نہ مل سکے یا پانی کے استعمال میں کوئی امر مانع ہویا وقت تنگ ہو تو سنت ہے کہ تیمم کیا جائے اور احادیث کے مطابق کسی عذر کے بغیر بھی تیمم کیا جا سکتا ہے ۔نیز سنت ہے کہ اگر میت مرد کی ہو تو پیش نماز اس کی کمر کے مقابل کھڑا ہو اور اگر عورت کی ہے تو اس کے سینے کے مقابل کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھے اور سنت ہے کہ جوتے اتار کر نماز پڑھے، اور واجب ہے کہ نماز کی نیت کر کے پانچ تکبیریں پڑھی جائیں ۔ اس نماز کی ہر تکبیر کے بعد پڑھی جانے والی دعا نماز پڑھنے والے کو اپنی زبان سے دہرانا ضروری ہے۔ سنت ہے کہ ہر تکبیر پر ہاتھوں کو کانوں کے برابر لایا جائے۔ نماز کی نیت (ارادہ کرنے) کے بعد۔۔۔
1st Takbeer ALLAAHO AKBAR then say…
اَشْھَدُ اَنْ لَّآ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللہُ وَحْدَہٗ لَاشَرِیْکَ لَہٗ وَاَشْھَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُہٗ وَرَسُوْلُہٗ اَرْسَلَہٗ بِالْحَقِّ بَشِیْرًا وَّنَذِیْرًۢا بَیْنَ یَدَیِ السَّاعَۃِ۔
Ashhadu an laa ilaaha illaa allaahu wahdahoo laashareeka lahoo wa-ashhadu anna muhammadan 'abduhoo warasooluhoo arsalahoo bil-haqqi basheeran wanazeeran bayna yadayi as-saa'ah.
I testify that there is no god except Allah. The One, there is no partner for him. I testify that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, whom He sent with truth as a giver of glad tidings and a warner till the Judgment Day.
میں گواہ ہوں کہ نہیں ہے معبود مگر اﷲجو یکتا ہے کوئی اس کا شریک نہیں اور میں گواہ ہوں کہ محمدؐ اس کے بندے اور رسولؐ ہیں، اﷲنے انہیں حق کے ساتھ بھیجا، وہ تا قیامت خوش خبری دینے اور ڈرانے والے ہیں۔
2nd Takbeer ALLAAHO AKBAR then say…
اَللّٰھُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَبَارِکْ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَارْحَمْ مُحَمَّدًا وَّاٰلَ مُحَمَّدٍ کَاَفْضَلِ مَا صَلَّیْتَ وَبَارَکْتَ وَتَرَحَّمْتَ عَلٰٓی اِبْرَاھِیْمَ وَاٰلِ اِبْرَاھِیْمَ اِنَّکَ حَمِیْدٌ مَّجِیْدٌ وَصَلِّ عَلٰی جَمِیْعِ الْاَنْۢبِیَآئِ وَالْمُرْسَلِیْنَ وَالشُّھَدَآئِ وَالصِّدِّیْقِیْنَ وَجَمِیْعِ عِبَادِ اللہِ الصَّالِحِیْنَ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammadin wabaarik 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammadin warham muhammadan wa-aala muhammadin ka-afdali maa sallayta wabaarakta watarahhamta 'alaa ibraaheema wa-aali ibraaheema innaka hameedun majeedun wasalli 'alaa jamee'i al-anbiyaa'i wal-mursaleena wash-shuhadaa'i was-siddeeqeena wajamee'i 'ibaadi allaahi as-saaliheen.
O Allah, exalt Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad and bless Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad and have mercy on Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad, like You exalted and blessed and had mercy on Ibrahim and the progeny of Ibrahim, indeed You are the praised and the majestic. And exalt all the prophets and messengers and martyrs and the truthful and all the righteous servants.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر اور برکت نازل فرما محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر اور رحم فرما محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر اس سے بیشتر جو رحمت کی تو نے اور برکت نازل کی تو نے اور رحم فرمایا تو نے ابراہیمؑ اور آل ابراہیمؑ پر۔ بے شک تو خوبی والا، شان والا ہے اور رحمت فرما تمام نبیوں، رسولوں، شہیدوں، صدیقوں اور اللہ کے تمام نیک بندوں پر۔
3rd Takbeer ALLAAHO AKBAR then say…
اَللّٰھُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَالْمُسْلِمِیْنَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ اَلْاَحْیَآئِ مِنْھُمْ وَالْاَمْوَاتِ تَابِعْ بَیْنَنَا وَبَیْنَھُمْ بِالْخَیْرَاتِ اِنَّکَ مُجِیْبُ الدَّعَوَاتِ اِنَّکَ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرٌ۔
Allaahumma ighfir lil-mu'mineena wal-mu'minaati wal-muslimeena wal-muslimaati al-ahyaa'i minhum wal-amwaati taabi' baynanaa wabaynahum bil-khayraati innaka mujeebu ad-da'awaati innaka 'alaa kulli shay'in qadeer.
O Allah, forgive the believer men and the believer women and the Muslim men and the Muslim women, their living and their dead. And continue the connection of good between us and them; indeed You are the acceptor of supplications and You have power over everything .
اے معبود! بخش دے مومنین اور مومنات کو اور مسلمین اور مسلمات کو ان میں جو زندہ ہیں اور جو مرگئے ہیں تو ہمیں اور ان کو نیکیوں میں باہم ملادے، بے شک تو دعائیں قبول کرنے والا ہے یقیناً تو ہر چیز پر قدرت رکھتا ہے۔
4th Takbeer ALLAAHO AKBAR then say…
اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنَّ ھٰذِہٖ اَمَتُکَ وَابْنَۃُ عَبْدِکَ وَابْنَۃُ اَمَتِکَ نَزَلَتْ بِکَ وَ اَنْتَ خَیْرُ مَنْزُوْلٍ بِہِ۔
اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنَّا لَا نَعْلَمُ مِنْھَا اِلَّا خَیْرًا وَّاَنْتَ اَعْلَمُ بِھَا مِنَّا۔
اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنْ کَانَتْ مُحْسِنَۃً فَزِدْفِیْ اِحْسَانِھَا وَاِنْ کَانَتْ مُسِیْئَۃً فَتَجَاوَزْ عَنْھَا وَاغْفِرْلَھَا۔
اَللّٰھُمَّ اجْعَلْھَا عِنْدَکَ فِیْٓ اَعْلٰی عِلِّیِّیْنَ وَاخْلُفْ عَلٰٓی اَھْلِھَا فِیْ الْغَابِرِیْنَ وَارْحَمْھَا بِرَحْمَتِکَ یَآاَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ۔
Allaahumma inna haazihee amatuka wabnatu 'abdika wabnatu amatika nazalat bika wa anta khayru manzoolin bih.
Allaahumma innaa laa na'lamu minhaa illaa khayran wa-anta a'lamu bihaa minnaa.
Allaahumma in kaanat muhsinatan fazidfee ihsaanihaa wa-in kaanat musee'atan fatajaawaz 'anhaa waghfirlahaa.
Allaahumma ij'alhaa 'indaka fee a'laa 'illiyyeena wakhluf 'alaa ahlihaa fee al-ghaabireena warhamhaa birahmatika yaa arhama ar-raahimeen.
O Allah, indeed this is Your maidservant, daughter of Your servant and daughter of Your maidservant. She has become Your guest and You are the best of the hosts. O Allah, we do not know except good from her and You are more knowing than us. O Allah, if she had been a doer of good, increase her good deeds and if she had been an evil-doer, overlook her and forgive her. And place her with You in the highest of the highest, and provide for those she leaves behind, and have mercy on her with Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
اے معبود! بے شک یہ تیری کنیز تیرے بندے کی بیٹی اور تیری کنیز کی بیٹی تیری مہمان ہوئی ہے اور تو بہترین مہمان نواز ہے۔اے معبود! یقیناً ہم اس کے متعلق نہیں جانتے مگر نیکی اور تو اسے ہم سے زیادہ جانتا ہے۔ اے معبود! اگر یہ نیکوکار رہی ہے تو اس کی نیکیوں میں اضافہ کردے اور اگر یہ بدکار رہی ہے تو اس سے درگذر فرما اور اسے بخش دے۔ اے معبود!تو اپنے یہاں اسے اعلیٰ علیین میں جگہ دے اور اس کے اہل وعیال میں اس کا جانشین بن جا، اس پر رحم فرما، اپنی رحمت سے اے سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے۔
Then say 5th takbeer ALLAAHO AKBAR and complete the namaz.
