مرد کی نمازِ میت
Namaz-e-Mayyit for a man: the funeral prayer, set out takbir by takbir.
It has no ruku and no sujud. After the first takbir comes the shahadatayn; after the second, salawat upon Muhammad and his progeny in the form that recalls Ibrahim (a); after the third, the prayer of forgiveness for the believing men and women, their living and their dead — and the request that the connection of good between us and them continue.
The fourth takbir names the deceased: O Allah, this is Your servant and he has become Your guest, and You are the best of hosts. We know nothing but good of him, and You know better than we do. It ends asking that he be gathered on the Day of Judgement with the Prophet and the purified Imams.
The translation is given so the meaning is understood; the prayer itself is offered in Arabic, as the page's own note says.
PLEASE NOTE: Be it clear that the reason for presenting Translation is to understand Salaat and to recite in Arabic with concentration because reciting Salaat other than Arabic language (or Transliteration) is not correct.
1st Takbeer ALLAAHO AKBAR then say…
اَشْھَدُ اَنْ لَّآ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللہُ وَحْدَہٗ لَاشَرِیْکَ لَہٗ وَاَشْھَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُہٗ وَرَسُوْلُہٗ اَرْسَلَہٗ بِالْحَقِّ بَشِیْرًا وَّنَذِیْرًۢا بَیْنَ یَدَیِ السَّاعَۃِ۔
Ash-hado an laa ilaaha illal-laaho wah-dahu laa sharee-ka lahu wa ash-hado anna mohammadan a’b-dahu wa rasoo-lahu, ar-sala-hu bil haqqe bashee-rawn, wa nazee-ram baiy-na yada-yis saa-a’h.
I testify that there is no god except Allah. The One, there is no partner for him. I testify that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, whom He sent with truth as a giver of glad tidings and a warner till the Judgment Day.
میں گواہ ہوں کہ نہیں ہے معبود مگر اﷲجو یکتا ہے کوئی اس کا شریک نہیں اور میں گواہ ہوں کہ محمدؐ اس کے بندے اور رسولؐ ہیں، اﷲنے انہیں حق کے ساتھ بھیجا، وہ تا قیامت خوش خبری دینے اور ڈرانے والے ہیں۔
2nd Takbeer ALLAAHO AKBAR then say…
اَللّٰھُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَبَارِکْ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَارْحَمْ مُحَمَّدًا وَّاٰلَ مُحَمَّدٍ کَاَفْضَلِ مَاصَلَّیْتَ وَبَارَکْتَ وَتَرَحَّمْتَ عَلٰٓی اِبْرَاھِیْمَ وَاٰلِ اِبْرَاھِیْمَ اِنَّکَ حَمِیْدٌ مَّجِیْدٌ وَصَلِّ عَلٰی جَمِیْعِ الْاَ نْۢبِیَاۗئِ وَالْمُرْسَلِیْنَ وَالشُّھَدَاۗئِ وَالصِّدِّیْقِیْنَ وَجَمِیْعِ عِبَادِاللہِ الصَّالِحِیْنَ۔
Allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin, wa baarik a’laa mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin, war-ham mohammadaw wa aale mohammadin, ka-afza-le maa sal-laiy-ta wa baarak-ta wa tarah-hamta a’laa ibraa-heema wa aale ibraa-heema inna-ka hamee-doom majee-doon, wa salle a’laa jamee-i’l ambiyaa-e wal mur-salee-na, wash-shohdaa-e was-siddee-qeena, wa jamee-e’ e’baa-dillaa-his saale-heen.
O Allah, exalt Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad and bless Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad and have mercy on Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad, like You exalted and blessed and had mercy on Ibrahim and the progeny of Ibrahim, indeed You are the praised and the majestic. And exalt all the prophets and messengers and martyrs and the truthful and all the righteous servants.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر اور برکت نازل فرما محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر اور رحم فرما محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر اس سے بیشتر جو رحمت کی تو نے اور برکت نازل کی تو نے اور رحم فرمایا تو نے ابراہیمؑ اور آل ابراہیمؑ پر۔ بے شک تو خوبی والا، شان والا ہے اور رحمت فرما تمام نبیوں اور رسولوں پر۔
3rd Takbeer ALLAAHO AKBAR then say…
اَللّٰھُمَّ اغْفِرْلِلْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَالْمُسْلِمِیْنَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ اَلْاَحْیَاۗئِ مِنْھُمْ وَالْاَمْوَاتِ تَابِعْ بَیْنَنَا وَبَیْنَھُمْ بِالْخَیْرَاتِ اِنَّکَ مُجِیْبُ الدَّعَوَاتِ اِنَّکَ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرٌ۔
Allaahum-magh fir-lil moa-me-neena wal moa-me-naate, wal musle-meena wal musle-maate, al-ah-yaa-e min-hum wal am-waate, taabe’ baiy-na-naa wa baiy-na-hum bil-khai-raate innaka mojee-bud da-a’waate, inna-ka a’laa kulle shaiy-in qadeer.
O Allah, forgive the believer men and the believer women and the Muslim men and the Muslim women, their living and their dead. And continue the connection of good between us and them; indeed You are the acceptor of supplications and You have power over everything and only You are worthy of answering the prayers.
اے معبود! بخش دے مومنین اور مومنات کو اور مسلمین اور مسلمات کو ان میں جو زندہ ہیں اور جو مرگئے ہیں تو ہمیں اور ان کو نیکیوں میں باہم ملادے، بے شک تو دعائیں قبول کرنے والا ہے یقیناً تو ہر چیز پر قدرت رکھتا ہے۔
4th Takbeer ALLAAHO AKBAR then say…
اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنَّ ھٰذَا عَبْدُکَ وَابْنُ عَبْدِکَ وَابْنُ اَمَتِکَ نَزَلَ بِکَ وَاَنْتَ خَیْرُ مَنْزُوْلٍ بِہٖ۔ اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنَّ لَا نَعْلَمُ مِنْہُ اِلَّا خَیْرًا وَّاَنْتَ اَعْلَمُ بِہٖ مِنَّا۔ اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنْ کَانَ مُحْسِنًا فَزِدْ فِیْٓ اِحْسَانِہٖ وَاِنْ کَانَ مُسِیْٓئًا فَتَجَاوَزْ عَنْہُ وَاغْفِرْلَہٗ۔ اَللّٰھُمَّ اجْعَلْہُ عِنْدَکَ فِیْ اَعْلٰی عِلِّیِّیْنَ وَاخْلُفْ عَلٰٓی اَھْلِہٖ فِی الْغَابِرِیْنَ وَارْحَمْہُ بِرَحْمَتِکَ یَآ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ۔
Allaahumma inna haazaa a’b-doka wabno a’b-deka wabno ama-teka naza-la beka wa anta khairo man-zoo-lin behi.
Allaahumma inna laa na’lamo minho illaa khai-ran, wa anta a’lamo behi minnaa.
Allaahumma in kaana mohse-nan fa-zid-fee eh-saane-hi wa in kaana mosee-an fa-tajaa-waz a’n-ho wagh-fir-lahu.
Allaahum-maj a’l-ho i’n-daka fee a’laa i’l-liyyeen wakh-luf a’laa ahle-hi fil ghaabe-reena war-ham-ho be-rah-mate-ka yaa ar-hamar-raahe-meen.
O Allah, indeed this is Your servant, son of Your servant and son of Your maidservant. He has become Your guest and You are the best of the hosts. O Allah, we do not know except good from him and You are more knowing than us. O Allah, if he had been a doer of good, increase his good deeds and if he had been a sinner and an evil-doer, forgive his sins. And gather him on the Judgment Day with the Prophet and the purified and chaste Imams.
اے معبود! بے شک یہ تیرا بندہ،تیرے بندے کا بیٹا اور تیری کنیز کا بیٹا تیرا مہمان ہوا ہے اور تو سب سے بہتر مہمان نواز ہے۔ اے معبود! یقیناً ہم نہیں جانتے اس سے متعلق مگر نیکی اور تو اسے ہم سے زیادہ جانتا ہے اے معبود! اگر یہ نیکو کار ہے تو اس کی نیکیوں میں اضافہ کر دے اور اگر یہ بدکار ہے تو اس سے درگذر فرما اور اسے بخش دے۔ اے معبود!تو اسے اپنے یہاں اعلیٰ علیین میں جگہ دے اور اس کے اہل وعیال میں اس کا جانشین ہو جا اور اس پر رحم فرما اپنی رحمت سےاے سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے۔
