And after that place the right hand on the right shoulder of the dead body and place the left hand tightly on its left shoulder and shake it hard when the name of the dead body is said while reciting the talqeen…
روایات میں آیا ہے کہ میّت کے لئے اس وقت جو تلقین پڑھی جاتی ہے تو منکر اپنے ہمراہ نکیر سے کہتا ہے : آؤ واپس چلیں، کیوں کہ اسے اس کی حجت کی تلقین کردی گئی ہے۔ لہٰذا اب اس سے سوال کرنے کی ضرورت نہیں رہی۔ چنانچہ وہ سوال نہیں کرتے اور لوٹ جاتے ہیں۔ علامہ مجلسیؒ کا ارشاد ہے :اگر تلقین اس طرح سے پڑھی جائے تو زیادہ جامع ہوگی۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اِسْمَعْ اِفْهَمْ اِسْمَعْ اِفْهَمْ يَافُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ هَلْ اَنْتَ عَلَى الْعَهْدِ الَّذِيْ فَارَقْتَنَا عَلَيْهِ مِنْ شَهَادَةِ اَنْ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهٗ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهٗ وَاَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهٗ وَرَسُوْلُهٗ سَيِّدُ النَّبِيِّيْنَ وَخَاتَمُ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ وَاَنَّ عَلِيًّا اَمِيْرُ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَسَيِّدُ الْوَصِيِّيْنَ وَاِمَامٌ افْتَرَضَ اللهُ طَاعَتَهٗ عَلَي الْعَالَمِيْنَ۔
Isma' ifham isma' ifham yaa fulaana ibna fulaanin hal anta 'alaa al-'ahdi allazee faaraqtanaa 'alayhi min shahaadati an laa ilaaha illaa allaahu wahdahoo laa shareeka lahoo wa-anna muhammadan 'abduhoo warasooluhoo sayyidu an-nabiyyeena wakhaatamu al-mursaleena wa-anna 'aliyyan ameeru al-mu'mineena wasayyidu al-wasiyyeena wa-imaamun iftarada allaahu taa'atahoo 'alaa al-'aalameen.

And the testimony of the fact that undoubtedly Muhammad, may the Peace of Allah be on him and his progeny, is the slave and prophet of Allah and is the lord of all the prophets and is the last of them and that Ali is the chief of the believers and the leader of all the successors and he is such an Imam whose obedience has been made obligatory on the whole world.
تو سن اور سمجھ اے فلاں ابن فلاں (یہاں میت کا اور اس کے باپ کا نام لے کر کہے) آیا تو اسی عہد پر قائم ہے جس پر تو ہمیں چھوڑ کر آیا ہے، یعنی یہ گواہی کہ نہیں ہے معبود مگر اﷲجو یکتا ہے، کوئی اس کا شریک نہیں اور یہ کہ حضرت محمدؐ اس کے بندے اور رسولؐ ہیں،وہ نبیوں کے سردار اور پیغمبروں کے خاتم ہیں، اور یہ کہ حضرت علیؑ مومنوں کے امیر اوصیاءکے سردار اور ایسے امام ہیں کہ اﷲنے ان کی اطاعت تمام جہانوں پر فرض کردی ہے۔
وَاَنَّ الْحَسَنَ وَالْحُسَيْنَ وَعَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَجَعْفَرَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَمُوْسَي بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ وَعَلِيَّ بْنَ مُوْسٰي وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَعَلِيَّ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَالْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَالْقَآئِمَ الْحُجَّةَ الْمَهْدِيَّ صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِمْ اَئِمَّةُ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَحُجَجُ اللهِ عَلَي الْخَلْقِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ وَاَئِمَّتُكَ اَئِمَّةُ هُدًي اَبْرَارًا۔
Wa-anna al-hasana wal-husayna wa'aliyya ibna al-husayni wamuhammada ibna 'aliyyin waja'fara ibna muhammadin wamoosaa ibna ja'farin wa'aliyya ibna moosaa wamuhammada ibna 'aliyyin wa'aliyya ibna muhammadin wal-hasana ibna 'aliyyin wal-qaa'ima al-hujjata al-mahdiyya salawaatu allaahi 'alayhim a'immatu al-mu'mineena wahujaju allaahi 'alaa al-khalqi ajma'eena wa-a'immatuka a'immatu hudan abraaraa.
And that Hasan and Husain and Ali son of Husain, and Muhammad son of Ali and Ja’far son of Muhammad, and Moosa son of Ja’far, and Ali son of Moosa, and Muhammad son of Ali, and Ali son of Muhammad, and Hasan son of Ali, and Muhammad, the awaited one, son of Hasan may the Peace of Allah be on them all are the Imams of all believers and are the authorities on the whole world, and your Imams are Imams of guidance and righteous.
نیز حسنؑ و حسینؑ،علی زین العابدینؑ، محمد باقرؑ،جعفر صادقؑ،موسیٰ کاظمؑ،علی رضاؑ، محمد تقیؑ،علی نقیؑ، حسن عسکریؑ، اور حجت القائم مہدیؑ کہ ان سب پر خدا کی رحمت ہو، یہ مومنوں کے امام اوراﷲکی ساری مخلوق پر اس کی حجتیں ہیں، تیرے یہ امام ہدایت والے خوش کردار ہیں۔
يَافُلَانْ بِنْ فُلَانْ اِذَا اَتَاكَ الْمَلَكَانِ الْمُقَرَّبَانِ رَسُوْلَيْنِ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالٰي وَسَئَلَاكَ عَنْ رَّبِّكَ وَعَنْ نَبِيِّكَ وَعَنْ دِيْنِكَ وَعَنْ كِتَابِكَ وَعَنْ قِبْلَتِكَ وَعَنْ اَئِمَّتِكَ فَلَا تَخَفْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ وَقُلْ فِيْ جَوَابِهِمَا اللهُ جَلَّ جَلَالُهٗ رَبِّيْ وَمُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَ سَلَّمْ نَبِيِّيْ وَالْاِسْلَامُ دِيْنِيْ وَالْقُرْاٰنُ كِتَابِيْ وَالْكَعْبَةُ قِبْلَتِيْ۔
Yaa fulan bin fulan izaa ataaka al-malakaani al-muqarrabaani rasoolayni min 'indi allaahi tabaaraka wata'aalaa wasa'alaaka 'an rabbika wa'an nabiyyika wa'an deenika wa'an kitaabika wa'an qiblatika wa'an a'immatika falaa takhaf walaa tahzan waqul fee jawaabihimaa allaahu jalla jalaaluhoo rabbee wamuhammadun sallaa allaahu 'alayhi wa-aalihee wa sallam nabiyyee wal-islaamu deenee wal-qur'aanu kitaabee wal-ka'batu qiblatee.
O… son of…, when the two favorite angels sent by Allah approach you and inquire of you about your God, your Prophet, your religion, your book, your qibla and your Imams, do not be afraid or grieved or worried, but say in reply: “Allah, the Glorious and Dignified, is my Lord, Muhammad, peace of Allah be upon him and his progeny, is my Prophet, Islam is my religion, the Quran is my book, Kaaba is my qibla.
اے فلاں ابن فلاں (یہاں میت کا اور اس کے باپ کا نام لے کر کہے)، جب تیرے پاس دو مقرب فرشتے دو پیام بر اﷲتبارک و تعالیٰ کی طرف سے آئیں اور تجھ سے پوچھیں، تیرے رب تیرے نبی تیرے دین تیری کتاب تیرے قبلہ اور تیرے ائمہ کے متعلق تو ڈرمت اور ان کے جواب میں کہہ کہ اﷲ جل جلالہ میرا رب ہے۔ حضرت محمدؐ میرے نبیؐ ہیں۔ اسلام میرا دین ہے، قرآن میری کتاب ہے، کعبہ میراقبلہ ہے۔
وَاَمِيْرُ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ عَلِيُّ ابْنُ اَبِيْ طَالِبٍ اِمَامِيْ وَالْحَسَنُ ابْنُ عَلِيِّ الْمُجْتَبٰي اِمَامِيْ وَالْحُسَيْنُ ابْنُ عَلِيِّ الشَّهِيْدُ بِكَرْبَلَاءَ اِمَامِيْ وَعَلِيٌّ زَيْنُ الْعَابِدِيْنَ اِمَامِيْ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ الْبَاقِرُ اِمَامِيْ وَجَعْفَرُ الصَّادِقُ اِمَامِيْ وَمُوْسَي الْكَاظِمُ اِمَامِيْ وَعَلِيُّ الرِّضَا اِمَامِيْ وَمُحَمَّدُ الْجَوَادُ اِمَامِيْ وَعَلِيُّ الْهَادِيْ اِمَامِيْ وَالْحَسَنُ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ اِمَامِيْ وَالْحُجَّةُ الْمُنْتَظَرُ اِمَامِيْ هٰؤُلَاءِ صَلَوٰتُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ اَئِمَّتِيْ وَسَادَاتِيْ وَقَادَاتِيْ وَ شُفَعَائِيْ بِهِمْ اَتَوَلَّي وَمِنْ اَعْدَآئِهِمْ اَتَبَرَّءُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِ۔
Wa-ameeru al-mu'mineena 'aliyyu ibnu abee taalibin imaamee wal-hasanu ibnu 'aliyyi al-mujtabaa imaamee wal-husaynu ibnu 'aliyyi ash-shaheedu bikarbalaa'a imaamee wa'aliyyun zaynu al-'aabideena imaamee wamuhammadu ibnu 'aliyyi al-baaqiru imaamee waja'faru as-saadiqu imaamee wamoosaa al-kaazimu imaamee wa'aliyyu ar-ridaa imaamee wamuhammadu al-jawaadu imaamee wa'aliyyu al-haadee imaamee wal-hasanu al-'askariyyu imaamee wal-hujjatu al-muntazaru imaamee haa'ulaa'i salawaatu allaahi 'alayhim ajma'eena a'immatee wasaadaatee waqaadaatee wa shufa'aa'ee bihim atawallaa wamin a'daa'ihim atabarra'u fee ad-dunyaa wal-aakhirah.
Ameerul Momeneena Ali Ibne Abi Talib is my Imam, Hasane Mujtaba is my Imam, Husain, the martyr of Kerbala, is my Imam, Ali Zainul Abideen is my Imam, Muhammad Baqir is my Imam, Ja’far Sadiq is my Imam, Moosa Kazim is my Imam, Ali Reza is my Imam, Muhammad Jawad is my Imam, Ali Hadi is my Imam, Hasan Askari is my Imam, Hujjatul Muntazar is my Imam. All these great persons, may Allah’s peace be upon them, are my Imams, my leaders, my chief, and my intercessors and I keep friends with them and have hatred for their enemies in this world as well as in the world to come.
اور امیرالمومنین علیؑ ابن ابی طالب میرے امام ہیں،ان کے بعد حسنؑ مجتبیٰ میرے امام ہیں اور حسینؑ ابن علیؑ جو کربلا میں شہید ہوئے میرے امام ہیں، علیؑ زین العابدینؑ میرے امام ہیں، نبیوں کے علم پھیلانےوالے اور محمد باقرؑ میرے امام ہیں جعفر صادقؑ میرے امام ہیں، موسیٰ کاظمؑ میرے امام ہیں،علیؑ رضا میرے امام ہیں، محمد تقیؑ جوادمیرے امام ہیں، علی نقیؑ ہادی میرے امام ہیں،حسنؑ عسکریؑ میرے امام ہیں حجت منتظرؑ میرے امام ہیں، ان سب پر خدا کی رحمت ہو کہ یہی میرے امام میرے سردار،میرے پیشوااور میرے شفاعت گزار ہیں، میں ان سے محبت کرتا ہوں، ان کے دشمنوں سے نفرت کرتا ہوں، دنیا و آخرت میں۔
ثُمَّ اِعْلَمْ يَا فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ اَنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالٰي نِعْمَ الرَّبُّ وَاَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ اٰلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِعْمَ الرَّسُوْلُ وَاَنَّ اَمِيْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ اَبِيْ طَالِبٍ وَاَوْلَادَهُ الْاَئِمَّةَ الْاَحَدَ عَشَرَ نِعْمَ الْاَئِمَّةُ وَاَنَّ مَا جَآءَ بِهٖ مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّمَ حَقٌّ وَاَنَّ الْمَوْتَ حَقٌّ وَسُؤَالَ مُنْكَرٍ وَنَكِيْرٍ فِي الْقَبْرِ حَقٌّ وَالْبَعْثَ حَقٌّ وَالنُّشُوْرَ حَقٌّ وَالصِّرَاطَ حَقٌّ وَالْمِيْزَانَ حَقٌّ وَتَطَآئُرَ الْكُتُبِ حَقٌّ وَالْجَنَّةَ حَقٌّ وَالنَّارَ حَقٌّ وَاَنَّ السَّاعَةَ اٰتِيَةٌ لَا رَيْبَ فِيْهَا وَاَنَّ اللهَ يَبْعَثُ مَنْ فِي الْقُبُوْرِ اَفَهِمْتَ۔
Thumma i'lam yaa fulaana ibna fulaanin anna allaaha tabaaraka wata'aalaa ni'ma ar-rabbu wa-anna muhammadan sallaa allaahu 'alayhi wa aalihi wasallama ni'ma ar-rasoolu wa-anna ameera al-mu'mineena 'aliyya ibna abee taalibin wa-awlaadahu al-a'immata al-ahada 'ashara ni'ma al-a'immatu wa-anna maa jaa'a bihee muhammadun sallaa allaahu 'alayhi wa-aalihee wasallama haqqun wa-anna al-mawta haqqun wasu'aala munkarin wanakeerin fee al-qabri haqqun wal-ba'tha haqqun wan-nushoora haqqun was-siraata haqqun wal-meezaana haqqun watataa'ura al-kutubi haqqun wal-jannata haqqun wan-naara haqqun wa-anna as-saa'ata aatiyatun laa rayba feehaa wa-anna allaaha yab'athu man fee al-quboori afahimt.
O… son of…, know that Allah, the Exalted, is the best Lord, and Muhammad, may the peace of Allah be upon him and his progeny, is the best Messenger and that Ameerul Momeneen Ali Ibne Abi Talib and the eleven Imams who are his descendants, are undoubtedly the best Imams and leaders. Whatever message Muhammad, may the peace of Allah be upon him and his progeny, has brought is true. Undoubtedly death is true, the questioning of Munkar and Nakeer in the grave after death is true, coming to life after death is true, the raising (from the graves) is true, the Path (Siraat) is true, the scale (Meezan) is true, the flying of the books (of deeds) is true, Paradise is true, the Fire is true, the Hour is coming, there is no doubt of it, and Allah will raise those who are in the graves. Have you understood?
پس جان لے اے فلاں ابن فلاں (یہاں میت کا اور اس کے باپ کا نام لے کر کہے) یہ کہ اﷲ تبارک و تعالیٰ بہترین رب ہے اور حضرت محمدؐ بہترین رسولؐ ہیں، امیرالمومنین علی ابن ابی طالبؑ اور ان کی اولاد سے گیارہ امام بہترین ائمہ ہیں، اور یہ کہ جس چیز کو لے کر حضرت محمد صلی اﷲ علیہ و آلہ آئے وہ حق ہے، موت حق ہے، قبر میں منکر و نکیر کا سوال کرنا حق ہے، قبروں سے اٹھنا حق ہے، حشر و نشر حق ہے، صراط حق ہے، میزان عمل حق ہے نامۂ اعمال کا کھولا جانا حق ہے، جنت حق ہے، جہنم حق ہے، اور یقیناً قیامت آکر رہے گی اس میں شک نہیں اور جو قبروں میں ہیں خدا انہیں اٹھائے گا۔ کیا تم نے سمجھ لیا؟
Then say; “O fula’n did you understand?” (It is in Hadees that the dead body replies saying; “Yes I have understood”). Then continue saying…
اس کے بعد کہے؛ اے فلاں کیا تو نے سمجھ لیا ہے (حدیث میں ہے کہ اس کے جواب میں میت کہتی ہے کہ ہاں میں نے سمجھ لیا)۔ پھر کہے۔۔۔
يَافُلَانَ بِنْ فُلَانَ ثَبَّتَكَ اللهُ بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ وَهَدَاكَ اللهُ اِلَي صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيْمٍ عَرَّفَ اللهُ بَيْنَكَ وَ بَيْنَ اَوْلِيَآئِكَ فِيْ مُسْتَقَرٍّ مِّنْ رَّحْمَتِهٖ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ جَافِ الْاَرْضَ عَنْ جَنْبَيْهِ وَاصْعَدْ بِرُوْحِهٖ اِلَيْكَ وَلَقِّهٖ مِنْكَ بُرْهَانًا، اَللّٰهُمَّ عَفْوَكَ عَفْوَكَ۔
Yaa fulaana bin fulaana thabbataka allaahu bil-qawli ath-thaabiti wahadaaka allaahu ilaa siraatin mustaqeemin 'arrafa allaahu baynaka wa bayna awliyaa'ika fee mustaqarrin min rahmatih.
Allaahumma jaafi al-arda 'an janbayhi was'ad biroohihee ilayka walaqqihee minka burhaanan, allaahumma 'afwaka 'afwak.
O… son of…, may Allah keep you firm on these beliefs and may He guide you on the right path and may Allah introduce you to friends in the vicinity of His mercy. O Allah, make the ground spacious for him on both the sides and raise his soul towards You and direct Your Guidance to him. O Allah, pardon us, pardon.
اے فلاں ابن فلاں (یہاں میت کا اور اس کے باپ کا نام لے کر کہے) خدا تجھے اس مضبوط قول پر قائم رکھے خدا تجھے صراط مستقیم کی ہدایت کرےخدا اپنی رحمت کی قرار گاہ میں تیرے اور تیرے اولیاء کے درمیان جان پہچان کرائے۔ اے معبود! اس کی قبر کے دونوں اطراف کو کشادہ کر اس کی روح کو اپنی طرف اٹھالے اور اسے دلیل و برہان عطا فرما۔ اے معبود!اسے معاف فرما، معاف فرما۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
