Surah Falaq (113, 5 ayat)
- Dawn (Makki)
It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (s) that whoever recites this Surah in the month of Ramadhan in any of his prayers, it is as if he has fasted in Makkah and he will get the reward for performing Hajj and Umrah. Imam Muhammad Baqir (a) said that in the prayer of Shafa’a (in namaz-e-shab) one should recite Surah Falaq in the first rak’aat and Naas in the second.
BISMI ALLAAHI AR-RAHMAANI AR-RAHEEM
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
QUL A'OOZU BIRABBI AL-FALAQ
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn
MIN SHARRI MAA KHALAQ
From the evil of what He has created
WAMIN SHARRI GHAASIQIN IZAA WAQAB
And from the evil of the utterly dark night when it comes
WAMIN SHARRI AN-NAFFAATHAATI FEE AL-'UQAD
And from the evil of those who blow on knots
WAMIN SHARRI HAASIDIN IZAA HASAD
And from the evil of the envious when he envies.
SADAQA ALLAAHU AL-'ALIYYU AL-'AZEEM.
Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.
