It goes without saying that Masjid Hannanah is one of the honorable mosques of the holy city of Najaf. It has been also narrated that the head of Imam Husain (a) is buried in this mosque. It has been also narrated that after Imam Sadiq (a) has accomplished a 2 rakat namaz at this mosque, he was asked about the prayer. “This is the place where they put the head of my grandfather, Husain ibn Ali, when they brought it from Karbala’,” answered the Imam (a). “From here, they took the head to Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad,” he added.
مخفی نہ رہے کہ مسجد حنانہ نجف اشرف کی مقدس مسجدوں میں سے ہے اور ایک روایت میں ہے کہ امام حسینؑ کا سرِ اقدس وہیں مدفون ہے۔ایک روایت میں ہے : امام جعفر صادقؑ نے وہاں ۲ رکعت نماز پڑھی،لوگوں نے حضرتؑ سے پوچھا : یہ کون سی نماز ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: یہ وہ جگہ ہے جہاں میرے جد امجد امام حسینؑ کا سرِ اقدس رکھا گیا تھا جب کربلا سے لا کر یہاں ابن زیاد کے سامنے پیش کیا گیا تھا۔

مسجد حنانہ وادی السلام قبرستان کے قریب میں ہے، امام حسینؑ کا سر اقدس یہاں رکھا گیا تھا، جب تم مسجد کے دروازے پر پہنچو تو اس طرح سے کہو۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
بِسْمِ اللهِ وَبِاللهِ وَمِنَ اللهِ وَاِلَی اللهِ وَخَیْرُ الْاَسْمَآئِ لِلهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَی اللهِ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ قَدْ دَخَلْتُ بَیْتَكَ وَاَنَا اٰمِنٌ بِكَ فَاٰمِنِّیْ مِنَ النَّارِ وَاجْعَلْنِیْ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ الْاَخْیَارِ وَاحْشُرْنِیْ فِیْ زُمْرَۃِ الْاَئِمَّۃِ الْاَطْهَارِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ یَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ۔
Bismi allaahi wabillaahi wamina allaahi wa-ilaa allaahi wakhayru al-asmaa'i lillaahi tawakkaltu 'alaa allaah.
Allaahumma qad dakhaltu baytaka wa-anaa aaminun bika fa-aaminnee mina an-naari waj'alnee mina al-mu'mineena al-akhyaari wahshurnee fee zumrati al-a'immati al-at-haari birahmatika yaa arhama ar-raahimeen.
In the name of Allah, with the help of Allah, from Allah, for Allah; and the best names are for Allah, I rely on Allah. O Allah! I am coming in Your house, I seek refuge with You, so give me safety from the fire and let me be among the upright believers and raise me on the day of reckoning among the adherents of the thoroughly purified Imams, through Your mercy, O the most merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے، اللہ کے ساتھ، اللہ ہی کی طرف سے اور اللہ ہی کی طرف۔ اللہ کے سب سے بہترین نام اسی کے ہیں۔ میں نے اللہ پر بھروسہ کیا۔ اے اللہ! میں تیرے گھر میں داخل ہوا ہوں اور میں تجھ پر ایمان رکھتا ہوں۔ پس تو مجھے آگ (جہنم) سے محفوظ رکھ، اور مجھے نیک مومنوں میں شامل فرما، اور اپنی رحمت سے مجھے پاک اماموں کے گروہ میں اٹھا (شامل فرما)، اے سب سے بڑھ کر رحم کرنے والے!
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.

شیخ محمد ابن مشہدیؒ نے روایت کی ہے کہ امام جعفر صادقؑ نے مسجد حنانہ میں سرِ اقدس امام حسینؑ کی زیارت پڑھی اور ۴ رکعت نماز ادا فرمائی۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ۔
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَابْنَ اَمِیْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ۔
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَابْنَ الصِّدِّیْقَۃِ الطَّاهِرَۃِ سَیِّدَۃِ نِسَآئِ الْعَالَمِیْنَ۔
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا مَوْلَایَ یَا اَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهٗ۔
As-salaamu 'alayka yaa ibna rasooli allaah.
As-salaamu 'alayka yaa ibna ameeri al-mu'mineen.
As-salaamu 'alayka yaa ibna as-siddeeqati at-taahirati sayyidati nisaa'i al-'aalameen.
As-salaamu 'alayka yaa mawlaaya yaa abaa 'abdi allaahi warahmatu allaahi wabarakaatuh.
Peace be on you, O the son of the Messenger of Allah. Peace be on you, O the son of Amir Al-Momeneen. Peace be on you, O the son of the most truthful thoroughly purified chief of the women of the worlds. Peace be on you, O my master, Aba Abdillah, and also mercy and benedictions of Allah.
آپ پر سلام ہو اے رسولِؐ خدا کے فرزند! آپ پر سلام ہو اے امیر المومنینؑ کے فرزند! آپ پر سلام ہو اے صدیقہ طاہرہ کے فرزند جو جہانوں کی عورتوں کی سردار ہیں سلام ہوآپ پر اے میرے مولا اے ابوعبدؑ اللہ! خدا کی رحمت ہو اور اس کی برکتیں ہوں۔
اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ قَدْ اَقَمْتَ الصَّلٰوۃَ وَاٰتَیْتَ الزَّكٰوۃَ وَاَمَرْتَ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ وَنَهَیْتَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَتَلَوْتَ الْكِتَابَ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهٖ وَجَاهَدْتَ فِی اللهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهٖ وَصَبَرْتَ عَلَی الْاَذٰی فِیْ جَنْبِهٖ مُحْتَسِبًا حَتّٰی اَتٰیكَ الْیَقِیْنُ۔
Ashhadu annaka qad aqamta as-salaata wa-aatayta az-zakaata wa-amarta bil-ma'roofi wanahayta 'ani al-munkari watalawta al-kitaaba haqqa tilaawatihee wajaahadta fee allaahi haqqa jihaadihee wasabarta 'alaa al-azaa fee janbihee muhtasiban hattaa ataaka al-yaqeen.
I bear witness that verily you had established salaat, gave zakaat, advised people to do good and abstain from evil, recited the Holy Qur’an as it should have been recited, strived in the way of Allah as it should have been done, exercised self control in the midst of hardships, till that which is certain (death) came to you.
میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ یقینًا آپ نے نماز قائم کی اور زکوٰۃ ادا فرمائی آپ نے نیکی کرنے کا حکم دیا اور برائی سے منع کیا آپ نے تلاوتِ قرآن کا حق ادا کیا اور خدا کی راہ میں جہاد کا حق ادا کیا اس میں آپ نے اذیت پر صبر کیا اصلاحِ حال کی خاطر حتیٰ کہ شہادت قبول کر لی۔
وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ الَّذِیْنَ خَالَفُوْكَ وَحَارَبُوْكَ وَاَنَّ الَّذِیْنَ خَذَلُوْكَ وَالَّذِیْنَ قَتَلُوْكَ مَلْعُوْنُوْنَ عَلٰی لِسَانِ النَّبِیِّ الْاُمِّیِّ وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنِ افْتَرٰی لَعَنَ اللهُ الظَّالِمِیْنَ لَكُمْ مِنَ الْاَوَّلِیْنَ وَالْاٰخِرِیْنَ وَضَاعَفَ عَلَیْهِمُ الْعَذَابَ الْاَلِیْمَ اَتَیْتُكَ۔
Wa-ashhadu anna allazeena khaalafooka wahaarabooka wa-anna allazeena khazalooka wallazeena qatalooka mal'oonoona 'alaa lisaani an-nabiyyi al-ummiyyi waqad khaaba mani iftaraa la'ana allaahu az-zaalimeena lakum mina al-awwaleena wal-aakhireena wadaa'afa 'alayhimu al-'azaaba al-aleema ataytuk.
I bear witness that verily those who opposed you, waged war against you, and those who abandoned you, killed you, had been cursed and condemned by the Holy Prophet. He who invented a lie against you had been wiped out. May Allah curse those tyrants who oppressed you, whether they were those who initiated the injustice or those who completed it, may Allah increase their terrible punishment.
اور میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ بے شک جنہوں نے آپ کی مخالفت کی آپ سے جنگ کی جنہوں نے آپ کی نصرت نہ کی اور جنہوں نے آپ کو قتل کیا وہ نبیؐ امی کے فرمان کے مطابق ملعون ٹھہرائے گئے ہیں اور جس نے آپ پر بہتان باندھا وہ رسوا ہوا خدا کی لعنت ہو اولین و آخرین پر جنہوں نے آپ پر ظلم ڈھایا ان کے دردناک عذاب میں اضافہ ہوتاچلا جائے۔
یَا مَوْلَایَ یَابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ زَائِرًا عَارِفًا بِحَقِّكَ مُوَالِیًا لِّاَوْلِیَآئِكَ مُعَادِیًا لِّاَعْدَائِكَ مُسْتَبْصِرًا بِالْهُدَی الَّذِیْ اَنْتَ عَلَیْهِ عَارِفًا بِضَلَالَۃِ مَنْ خَالَفَكَ فَاشْفَعْ لِیْ عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهٗ۔
Yaa mawlaaya yaa ibna rasooli allaahi zaa'iran 'aarifan bihaqqika muwaaliyan li-awliyaa'ika mu'aadiyan li-a'daa'ika mustabsiran bil-hudaa allazee anta 'alayhi 'aarifan bidalaalati man khaalafaka fashfa' lee 'inda rabbika was-salaamu 'alayka warahmatu allaahi wabarakaatuh.
I have come to you, O my master, O son of the Messenger of Allah, as your zair, aware of your rights, I am a friend of your friends, I am an enemy of your enemies. I am aware of the right path on which you had always walked, I know well that those who opposed you had gone astray, so recommend my case to your Lord. Peace be on you, and also mercy and benedictions of Allah.
اے میرے مولا اے رسولؐ خدا کے فرزند! میں آپ کی زیارت کو آیا ہوں آپ کے حق کو پہچانتا ہوں آپ کے دوستوں کا دوست آپ کے دشمنوں کا دشمن ہوں اس ہدایت کو حق سمجھتا ہوں جس کو آپ نے اختیار کیا آپ کے مخالفوں کی گمراہی سے واقف ہوں۔ پس اپنے رب کے ہاں میری شفاعت فرمائیں۔ آپ پر سلام ہو اور خدا کی رحمت اور اس کی برکتیں ہوں۔

روایت میں ہے کہ امام جعفر صادقؑ نے اس مسجد میں۲ رکعت نماز ادا کی اور پھر اس دعا کو پڑھا۔۔۔

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّكَ تَرٰی مَكَانِیْ، وَتَسْمَعُ كَلَامِیْ وَلَایَخْفٰی عَلَیْكَ شَیْءٌ مِنْ اَمْرِیْ وَكَیْفَ یَخْفٰی عَلَیْكَ مَا اَنْتَ مُكَوِّنُهٗ وَبَارِئُهٗ وَقَدْ جِئْتُكَ مُسْتَشْفِعًا بِنَبِیِّكَ نَبِیِّ الرَّحْمَۃِ وَمُتَوَسِّلًا بِوَصِیِّ رَسُوْلِكَ فَاَسْئَلُكَ بِهِمَا ثَبَاتَ الْقَدَمِ وَالْهُدٰی وَالْمَغْفِرَۃَ فِی الدُّنْیَا وَالْآخِرَۃِ۔
Allaahumma innaka taraa makaanee, watasma'u kalaamee walaayakhfaa 'alayka shay'un min amree wakayfa yakhfaa 'alayka maa anta mukawwinuhoo wabaari'uhoo waqad ji'tuka mustashfi'an binabiyyika nabiyyi ar-rahmati wamutawassilan biwasiyyi rasoolika fa-as'aluka bihimaa thabaata al-qadami wal-hudaa wal-maghfirata fee ad-dunyaa wal-aakhirah.
O Allah! Verily You are watching the place where I am standing., You hear my speech, and nothing of my affairs is hidden from You. How can that which You have created remain concealed from You? I have come to You, seeking recommendations of Your prophet, the prophet of mercy, and seeking the medium of the wasi of Your messenger, therefore I beseech You in the name of these two to let me remain on the right path and grant me forgiveness in this world and the hereafter.
اے معبود! بے شک تو دیکھتا ہے جہاں میں کھڑا ہوں اور میری بات سنتا ہے میرے امور میں سے کچھ بھی تجھ سے پوشیدہ نہیں ہے اور کیوں کرتجھ سے پوشیدہ رہے جسے تونے خود وجود دیا اور پیدا کیا یقینًا میں تیرے حضور تیرے رحمت والے نبیؐ کی شفاعت لایا ہوں اور تیرے رسولؐ کے وصی کو وسیلہ بنایا ہے لہٰذا ان دونوں کے واسطے سے مانگتا ہوں ثابت قدمی ہدایت اور مغفرت اس دنیا میں اور آخرت میں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
