About this day
Abu Talib (a) was the uncle and protector of the Prophet Muhammad (s), and his death was a great loss for the early Muslim community. Some traditions report his passing in the month of Dhu al-Qada, while others mention different times. His steadfast support of the Prophet is honored by Shia Muslims.

Families at the Centre do not all keep this on the same day. The date above is the one the Centre observes; it is not a ruling on anyone else’s.
