1st to 10th Zil-Hijjah

۱۔۱۰؍ماہِ ذی الحجہ

1. The first 10 days of this month are called Ayyame maalumat (The Stated Days) by the Holy Qur’an. The Holy Prophet (s) is reported to have said that nothing is more preferable to Almighty Allah than practicing acts of worship on these 10 days.

   قرآن مجید میں اس کے ابتدائی ۱۰ دنوں کو ’’ایام معلومات‘‘ کہا گیا ہے اور یہ بڑی فضیلت اور برکت والے ایام ہیں۔ حضرت رسول اللہؐ کا فرمان ہے : کسی بھی دن کی نیکی و عبادت خدا کے ہاں اس نیکی و عبادت سے زیادہ محبوب نہیں جو ان ۱۰ دنوں میں کی جائے۔

2. It is recommended to observe fasting on the first 9 days of Zil-hijjah, for it is equal to the fasting of one’s whole lifetime.

   پہلے ۹ دن کے روزے رکھے تو ایسا ہے گویا ساری زندگی روزے رکھے ہوں۔

3. Recite Namaz-e-Zilhaj between Maghrib and Isha Namaz.

   مغرب و عشا کے درمیان نماز الحجہ پڑھے۔

4. It is recommended to say the following dua Allahumma haazehil ayyaamul, which is reported by Shaykh Tusi and Sayyid Ibn Tawus from Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a), after the Fajr namaz and before Maghrib namaz, ie. from the 1st of Zil-Hijjah to the 9th Zil-Hijjah (Day of Arafat).

   پہلے دن سے عرفہ کے دن تک نمازِ فجر کے بعد اور نمازِمغرب سے پہلے دُعا اَللّٰهُمَّ هٰذِهِ الْاَيَّامُ پڑھے ؛ جو شیخؒ و سیدؒ نے امام جعفر صادقؑ سے نقل کی ہے۔

5. Jibraeel (a) has conveyed these Five Testaments as a gift of Almighty Allah to Prophet Jesus (a) and instructed him to repeat them on the first 10 days of Zilhijjah.

   وہ پانچ دعائیں پڑھے جو جبرائیل خدا کی طرف سے حضرت عیسیٰؑ کے لئے بطور ہدیہ لائے تھے تاکہ حضرتؑ اس عشرہ میں ہر روز پانچ شہادتیں پڑھیں۔

6. It is recommended to say dua La ilaha illallaho ada-dal, which is reported from Imam Ali (a), on the first 10 days of Zilhijjah.

   ان دس دنوں میں ہر روز دُعا لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ عَدَدَ پڑھے جو حضرت امیر المومنینؑ سے منقول ہیں اور ان پر ثوابِ کثیر کا ذکر ہوا ہے اگر ان کو روزانہ ۱۰ مرتبہ پڑھے تو بہتر ہے۔
