Imam Reza (a) is reported as saying: If one observes fasting on the last 3 days of Sha’ban and attaches it to the obligatory fasting of Ramazan, Almighty Allah will record for him the reward of fasting for two consecutive months.
امام علی رضاؑ سے منقول ہے : جو شخص شعبان کےآخری تین دن روزہ رکھ کر ماہِ رمضان کے روزوں سے متصل کردے تو حق تعالیٰ اس کے نامۂ اعمال میں دو مہینے متصل روزوں کا ثواب لکھے گا۔
Abul-Salt al-Harawi has narrated that when he visited Imam Reza (a) on the last Friday of Sha’ban, the Imam said to him: the days of Sha’ban have almost passed. This is the last Friday. You should thus settle what you have missed in this month by working harder in the rest of it. You may supplicate God, implore for His forgiveness, recite the Holy Qur’an, and repent to Him from your sins so that you receive the month of Ramazan with pure sincerity to Him. You must fulfill all the trusts that you are liable to settle, do not bear malice against any of your brethren in-faith, you must give up any sin that you commit. Fear Almighty Allah and trust in Him in secret and openly, for ‘If anyone puts his trust in Allah, sufficient is (Allah) for him. For Allah will surely accomplish his purpose. Verily, for all things has Allah appointed a due proportion.
ابوصلت ہروی سے روایت ہے : میں شعبان کے آخری جمعہ کو امام علی رضاؑ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا تو حضرتؑ نے مجھ سے فرمایا: اے ابوصلت! شعبان کا زیادہ حصہ گزرگیا ہے اور آج اس کاآخری جمعہ ہے۔لہٰذا اس کے گزشتہ دنوں میں تجھ سے جو کوتاہیاں ہوئی ہیں اس کے باقی آنے والے دنوں میں تجھے ان کی تلافی (بھرپائی) کرلینی چاہیےاور تمہیں وہ عمل اختیار کرنا چاہیےجو تمہارے لئے مفید ہو، تمہیں تلاوتِ قرآن اور بہت زیادہ دعا وا ستغفار کرنا چاہیے نیز خدا کی بارگاہ میں اپنے گناہوں پر توبہ کرو تا کہ جب ماہِ مبارک رمضان آئے تو اس وقت تک تم نے خود کو اپنے رب کے لئے خالص کرلیا ہو۔ اپنے ذمہ کسی کا کوئی حق نہ رہنے دو مگر یہ کہ اسے ادا کردو، اپنے دل میں کسی کے لئے بغض و کینہ نہ رکھو۔ اگر کوئی گناہ کرتے رہے ہو تو اسے ترک کردو، خدا سے ڈرو اور ظاہر و باطن میں اسی پر بھروسہ رکھو جوشخص خدا پر توکل اور بھروسہ رکھتا ہے تو خدا اس کے لئے کافی ہے۔

اس مہینے کے باقی دنوں میں زیادہ تر یہ دعا پڑھا کرو، کیوں کہ حق تعالیٰ اس مہینے میں احترامِ رمضان کی خاطر اپنے بہت زیادہ بندوں کوجہنم کی آگ سے آزاد فرماتا ہے۔۔۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ غَفَرْتَ لَنَا فِيْمَا مَضٰى مِنْ شَعْبَانَ فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا فِيْمَا بَقِيَ مِنْهُ۔
Allaahumma in lam takun ghafarta lanaa feemaa madaa min sha'baana faghfir lanaa feemaa baqiya minh.
O Allah: If You have not forgiven us in the past days of Sha`ban, (please do) forgive us in the rest of it.
اے معبود!اگر تو نے ہمیں شعبان کے گزشتہ دنوں میں گناہوں کی معافی نہیں دی تو بھی اس کے باقی دنوں میں ہمیں بخشش عطا کردے۔
