Prostration of Thanks

سجدۂ شکر

1. It is highly recommended to perform Thanksgiving Prostration after the obligatory namaz. Too many are the duas and zikrs that may be said during the Thanksgiving Prostration. In this connection, Imam Ali ibn Musa ar-Reza (a) is reported to have said that one may repeat 100 times one of the following words during the Thanksgiving Prostrations…

   امام علی رضاؑ فرماتے ہیں : سجدۂ شکر میں چاہیں تو سومرتبہ شُکْرًا شُکْرًا یا سومرتبہ کہیں۔۔۔

2. شُكْرًا شُكْرًا۔

   SHUKRAN SHUKRAA.

   Thanks, thanks.

   شکر ہے، شکر ہے۔

3. عَفْوًا عَفْوًا۔

   'AFWAN 'AFWAA.

   Pardon, pardon.

   بخش دے، بخش دے۔

4. Imam Reza (a) is also reported to have said: to repeat 3 times while in Sajdah…

   حضرتؑ سے یہ بھی منقول ہے کہ سجدۂ شکر میں کم سے کم تین مرتبہ کہیں۔۔۔

5. شُكْرًا لِلّٰهِ۔

   SHUKRAN LILLAAH.

   Thanks to Allah.

   شکر ہے خدا کے لیے۔

6. Recite Thanking Allah in Prostration Yaa Rabbe Wa A’z-tanee Fa-lam.

   سجدۂ شکر کی دعا یَا رَبِّ وَعَظْتَنِیْ فَلَمْ۔ پڑھے۔

7. Recite Thanking Allah in Prostration Yaa Man Laa Yazeedo-hu il-haaho.

   سجدۂ شکر کی دعا یَا مَنْ لَّا یَزِیْدُهٗ اِلْحَاحُ پڑھے۔
