Gift for Dead
ہدیہء مرحوم
A short page on isal-e-sawab — sending the reward of a good deed to someone who has died — kept among the amaal for the dead. Its own heading is an emphasis on sending such gifts.
The supplication itself is a single request made through the Prophet and his Household: that this dead person not be tormented.
What follows is a passage addressed to Prophet Isa (a), telling him to stop at the graves of the dead and call upon them so as to take the lesson from them, saying: I shall join you among all those who will join you. It is included here as the reason for the visit rather than as part of the dua.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اَسْاَلُكَ بِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ اَنْ لَا تُعَذِّبَ هٰذَا الْمَيِّتَ۔
Allahumma inni as-aloka be-haqqe muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin an laa to’azzeba haazal mayyit.
O Allah, I do beseech You in the name of Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad not to torment this dead.
اےمعبود! میں سوال کرتا ہوں تجھ سے محمدؐوآل محمدؐکے واسطہ سے کہ اس قبر والے پر عذاب نہ کر۔
يَا عِيْسٰى هَبْ لِيْ مِنْ عَيْنِكَ الدُّمُوْعَ وَمِنْ قَلْبِكَ الْخُشُوْعَ وَاكْحُلْ عَيْنَيْكَ بِمِيْلِ الْحُزْنِ اِذَا ضَحِكَ الْبَطَّالُوْنَ وَقُمْ عَلٰى قُبُوْرِ الْاَمْوَاتِ فَنَادِهِمْ بِالصَّوْتِ الرَّفِيْعِ لَعَلَّكَ تَأْخُذُ مَوْعِظَتَكَ مِنْهُمْ وَقُلْ اِنِّيْ لَاحِقٌ بِهِمْ فِي اللَّاحِقِيْنَ۔
Ya eesa habli min aine-kad domoo’a wa min qalbe-kal khoshoo’a wak-hul ainai-ka be-meelil huzne ezaa zahe-kal battaa-loona wa qum alaa qabooril amwaate fa-naade-him bissawtir fee’e la’allaka taa-khozo mau’ezataka min hum wa qul inni laa heqoon be-him fil-laa heqeen.
O Jesus, devote to Me tears of your eyes and reverence of your heart. Darken your eyes with the stick of sadness when the idle ones laugh. Stop at the graves of the death and call on them with mournful tone so that you may learn lessons from them, saying, “I shall join you among all those who will join you.”
اے عیسیٰؑ!مجھے اپنی آنکھوں سے آنسو دے،اپنے قلب سے خوف، اور رنج و غم کو اپنی آنکھوں کا سرمہ بنا جب کہ بدکار لوگ ہنستے ہیں اور مُردوں کی قبروں پر جاکے کھڑا ہوپھر ان کو بلند آواز سے پکارکہ شاید تو ان سے نصیحت و عبرت حاصل کرلے مزید خود سےکہو کہ میں بھی جلد ان سے جاملوں گا۔
