On Entering Najaf
نجف کے دروازے پر
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِیْ هَدَانَا لِهٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِیَ لَوْلَا اَنْ هَدٰانَا اللهُ، اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِیْ سَیَّرَنِیْ فِیْ بِلَادِهٖ وَحَمَلَنِیْ عَلٰی دَوَآبِّهٖ وَطَوٰی لِیَ الْبَعِیْدَ وَصَرَفَ عَنِّیْ الْمَحْذُوْرَ وَدَفَعَ عَنِّیْ الْمَكْرُوْهَ حَتّٰی اَقْدَمَنِیْ حَرَمَ اَخِیْ رَسُوْلِهٖ صَلَّی اللهُ عَلَیْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ۔
Alhamdo lillaa-hil lazee hadaanaa lehaazaa wa maa kunnaa le-nah-ta-deya lawlaa an hadaa-nal laaho.
Alhamdo lillaa-hil lazee sayya-ranee fee belaa-dehi wa hama-lanee ’alaa dawaaab-behi wa tawaa le-yal ba-’eeda wa sarafa ’annil mahzoora wa dafa’a ’annil makrooha hattaa aqdamanee harama akhee rasoolehi sallal laaho a’laihe wa aalehi.
All praise be to Allah Who has guided us to this; and we would not have found the way had it not been that Allah had guided us. All praise be to Allah Who has made me travel in His countries, Who has caused me to ride His animals, Who has made the distant space seem near for me, Who has kept away from me what is dangerous, and Who has held off against me what is unwanted until He made me come up to the Precinct of the brother of His Messenger, peace be upon him and his Household.
حمد خدا کے لئے ہے جس نے ہمیں راستہ دکھایا اور اگر وہ رہبری نہ فرماتا تو ہم ہدایت یافتہ نہ ہو سکتے تھے حمد خدا کے لئے ہے جس نےمجھے شہروں سے گزارااپنے چوپایوں پر سواری کرائی دور کی مسافت طے کرنے کی توفیق دی رکاوٹیں ختم فرمائیں اور برائی کو مجھ سے دور رکھا یہاں تک کہ میں اس کے رسول ﷺ کے برادر کی بارگاہ میں پہنچ گیا ہوں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِیْ اَدْخَلَنِیْ هٰذِهٖ الْبُقْعَۃَ اَلْمُبَارَكَۃَ الَّتِیْ بَارَكَ اللهُ فِیْهَا وَاخْتَارَهَا لِوَصِیِّ نَبِیِّهٖ۔ اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاجْعَلْهَا شَاهِدَۃً لِیْ۔
Alhamdo lillaahil lazee adkhala-nee haaze-hil buq-a’til mobaaraka-til latee baara-kal laaho fee-haa wakh-taara-haa le-wasiyye nabiyye-hi allaahumma faj’al-haa shaahe-datan lee.
All praise be to Allah Who has allowed me to enter this blessed zone, which Allah has blessed and has chosen for His Prophet’s Successor. O Allah, (please do) make this zone witness for me.
حمد خدا کے لئے ہے جس نے مجھے اس بابرکت پُر نور حرم میں داخل کیاجسے اللہ نے مبارک بنایا اور اس کو اپنے نبیؐ کے وصی کے لئے پسند کیا اے معبود! اس روضہ کو میرا گواہ قرار دے۔
