About this day
Laylat al-Ragha'ib falls on the first Thursday eve of Rajab, which in practice is a Wednesday evening, because the Islamic day begins at maghrib. A twelve-rak'a prayer is associated with the night, but the report is weakly attested: it first appears in Iqbal al-a'mal with no chain of narrators. Twelver communities differ over whether it is kept at all.
