About this day
Fasting through Shaban is traced in the sources to a narration of Imam al-Rida (a), and it runs across the whole month rather than falling on any one day. The Centre lists it at the start of Shaban as a notice for the month ahead. In this practice the last three days of the month are fasted and joined to Ramadan.
