About this day
Imam al-Hadi (a) died in the year 254 AH, and this is the date most widely held in the Twelver tradition. Not every community places it here; some reports put it earlier in the year, so a family may know it by a different date. The Centre observes it in Rajab, as Australian centres generally do, with a majlis.
Communities differ on this
The Centre’s congregation includes Indian, Pakistani, Irani, Hazara, Iraqi and Afghan families, and they do not all keep this on the same day. The date above is the one the Centre observes; it is not a ruling on anyone else’s.
