One widely printed reckoning places the martyrdom of Imam al-Rida (a) on 17 Safar. Twelver communities do not agree on the date, and the Centre also lists the last day of Safar, which other families here keep. Both dates stay on the calendar, and the majlis is for the same Imam either way.
