Six different dates are reported for the martyrdom of Imam al-Rida (a), and Twelver communities keep different ones. The twenty-third of Dhu al-Qada is one of those reports, carried here as an optional secondary entry; the Centre marks the shahadat in Safar, on the seventeenth and on the last day of the month.
