About this day

The Fatima Zahra Imamia Centre is named for Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra (a), and this is the day of her wiladat. The hall carries her name too: Qasr-e-Zahra (s.a), 80 Downs Street, North Ipswich. The Centre keeps the day as a jashn. Her year of birth is reported differently across the Twelver sources, and the Centre takes no side, so it prints the day and the month and no year. In Iran the same date is kept as Women's Day and Mother's Day.

Communities differ on this

Families at the Centre do not all keep this on the same day. The date above is the one the Centre observes; it is not a ruling on anyone else’s.
