Surah Tur (52, 49 ayat)سورۂ طور

The surah swears by the Mountain, the written Book, the visited House and the swollen sea, then declares that the punishment of the Lord will come and none can avert it. Those who guarded against evil are shown in gardens, joined by the offspring who followed them in faith. A run of questions presses the deniers before the close calls for patience and praise by night and at the setting of the stars.

Mountain (Makki)

The Holy Prophet (s) said that the one who recites this Surah will be kept safe from the wrath and punishment of Allah (s).Imam Jafar Sadiq (a) has said that the recitation of this Surah brings good fortune to the reciter and constant recitation by those who have been imprisoned secures an early release from bondage. If this Surah is recited or kept as a talisman, it keeps children in good health.

امام باقرؑ نے فرمایا : جس نے سورۂ طور کی تلاوت کی اسے دنیا و آخرت دونوں کی بھلائی حاصل ہوگی۔ (مجمع البیان ج ۹ ص ۲۷۰)

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

وَالطُّوْرِ

Wat-toori

I swear by the Mountain

طور کی قسم۔

وَكِتٰبٍ مَّسْطُوْرٍ

Wakitaabin mastoor

And the Book written

اور لکھی ہوئی کتاب کی قسم۔

فِيْ رَقٍّ مَّنْشُوْرٍ

Fee raqqin manshoor

In an outstretched fine parchment

جو کشادہ اوراق میں ہے۔

وَالْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُوْرِ

Wal-bayti al-ma'moor

And the House (Kaaba) that is visited

اور بیتِ معمور کی قسم۔

وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوْعِ

Was-saqfi al-marfoo'

And the elevated canopy

اور بلند چھت (آسمان) کی قسم۔

وَالْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُوْرِ

Wal-bahri al-masjoor

And the swollen sea

اور بھڑکتے ہوئے سمندر کی قسم۔

اِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ

Inna 'azaaba rabbika lawaaqi'

Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass;

یقینًا تمہارے رب کا عذاب واقع ہونے والا ہے۔

مَا لَهٗ مِنْ دَافِعٍ

Maa lahoo min daafi'

There shall be none to avert it;

اور اس کا کوئی دفع کرنے والا نہیں ہے۔

يَوْمَ تَمُوْرُ السَّمَآءُ مَوْرًا

Yawma tamooru as-samaa'u mawraa

On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side

جس دن آسمان باقاعدہ چکر کھانے لگیں گے۔

وَتَسِيْرُ الْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا

Wataseeru al-jibaalu sayraa

And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether).

اور پہاڑ باقاعدہ حرکت میں آجائیں گے۔

فَوَيْلٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ

Fawaylun yawma'izin lilmukazzibeen

So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth)

پھر جھٹلانے والوں کے لئے عذاب اور بربادی ہی ہے۔

اَلَّذِيْنَ هُمْ فِيْ خَوْضٍ يَّلْعَبُوْنَ

Allazeena hum fee khawdin yal'aboon

Those who sport entering into vain discourses.

جو باطل میں پڑے کھیل تماشہ کر رہے ہیں۔

يَوْمَ يُدَعُّوْنَ اِلٰى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا

Yawma yuda''oona ilaa naari jahannama da''aa

The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence.

جس دن انہیں بھر پور طریقہ سے جہنّم میں ڈھکیل دیا جائے گا۔

هٰذِهِ النَّارُ الَّتِيْ كُنْتُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُوْنَ

Haazihi an-naaru allatee kuntum bihaa tukazziboon

This is the fire which you used to give the lie to.

یہی وہ جہنّم کی آگ ہے جس کی تم تکذیب کیا کرتے تھے۔

اَفَسِحْرٌ هٰذَآ اَمْ اَنْتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُوْنَ

Afasihrun haazaa am antum laa tubsiroon

Is it magic then or do you not see?

آیا یہ جادو ہے یا تمہیں کچھ سجھائی نہیں دے رہا ہے۔

اِصْلَوْهَا فَاصْبِرُوْٓا اَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوْا سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ اِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ

Islawhaa fasbiroo aw laa tasbiroo sawaa'un 'alaykum innamaa tujzawna maa kuntum ta'maloon

Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did.

اب اس میں چلے جاؤ پھر چاہے صبر کرو یا نہ کرو سب برابر ہے یہ تمہارے ان اعمال کی سزا دی جا رہی ہے جو تم انجام دیا کرتے تھے۔

اِنَّ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ فِيْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّنَعِيْمٍ

Inna al-muttaqeena fee jannaatin wana'eem

Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss

بےشک صاحبانِ تقویٰ باغات اور نعمتوں کے درمیان رہیں گے۔

فٰكِهِيْنَ بِمَآ اٰتٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيْمِ

Faakiheena bimaa aataahum rabbuhum wawaqaahum rabbuhum 'azaaba al-jaheem

Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire.

جو خدا عنایت کرے گا اس میں خوش حال رہیں گے اور خدا انہیں جہنّم کے عذاب سے محفوظ رکھے گا۔

كُلُوْا وَاشْرَبُوْا هَنِيْٓئًۢا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ

Kuloo washraboo hanee'an bimaa kuntum ta'maloon

Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did

اب یہیں آرام سے کھاؤ پیو ان اعمال کی بنا پر جو تم نے انجام دئیے تھے۔

مُتَّكِئِيْنَ عَلٰى سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوْفَةٍ وَّزَوَّجْنٰهُمْ بِحُوْرٍ عِيْنٍ

Muttaki'eena 'alaa sururin masfoofatin wazawwajnaahum bihoorin 'een

Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones.

وہ برابر سے بچھے ہوئے تختوں پر تکیہ لگائے بیٹھے ہوں گے اور ہم ان کا جوڑا کشادہ چشم حوروں کو قرار دیں گے۔

وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُمْ بِاِيْمَانٍ اَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ اَلَتْنٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّنْ شَيْءٍ كُلُّ امْرِىٍٔۢ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِيْنٌ

Wallazeena aamanoo wattaba'at-hum zurriyyatuhum bi-eemaanin al-haqnaa bihim zurriyyatahum wamaa alatnaahum min 'amalihim min shay'in kullu imri'in bimaa kasaba raheen

And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring and We will not diminish to them aught of their work; every man is responsible for what he shall have wrought.

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور ان کی اولاد نے بھی ایمان میں ان کا اتباع کیا تو ہم ان کی ذریت کو بھی ان ہی سے ملا دیں گے اور کسی کے عمل میں سے ذرہ برابر بھی کم نہیں کریں گے کہ ہر شخص اپنے اعمال کا گروی ہے۔

وَاَمْدَدْنٰهُمْ بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَّلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُوْنَ

Wa-amdadnaahum bifaakihatin walahmin mimmaa yashtahoon

And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire.

اور ہم جس طرح کے میوے یا گوشت وہ چاہیں گے اس سے بڑھ کر ان کی امداد کریں گے۔

يَتَنَازَعُوْنَ فِيْهَا كَاْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيْهَا وَلَا تَاْثِيْمٌ

Yatanaaza'oona feehaa ka'san laa laghwun feehaa walaa ta'theem

They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin.

وہ آپس میں جامِ شراب پر جھگڑا کریں گے لیکن وہاں کوئی لغویت اور گناہ نہ ہو گا۔

وَيَطُوْفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَاَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُوْنٌ

Wayatoofu 'alayhim ghilmaanun lahum ka-annahum lu'lu'un maknoon

And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls.

اور ان کے گرد وہ نوجوان لڑکے چکر لگاتے ہوں گے جو پوشیدہ اور محفوظ موتیوں جیسے حسین و جمیل ہوں گے۔

وَاَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلٰى بَعْضٍ يَّتَسَآءَلُوْنَ

Wa-aqbala ba'duhum 'alaa ba'din yatasaa'aloon

And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other.

اور پھر ایک دوسرے کی طرف رخ کر کے سوال جواب کریں گے۔

قَالُوْٓا اِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِيْٓ اَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِيْنَ

Qaaloo innaa kunnaa qablu fee ahlinaa mushfiqeen

Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families:

کہیں گے کہ ہم تو اپنے گھر میں خدا سے بہت ڈرتے تھے۔

فَمَنَّ اللهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقٰنَا عَذَابَ السَّمُوْمِ

Famanna allaahu 'alaynaa wawaqaanaa 'azaaba as-samoom

But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind:

تو خدا نے ہم پر یہ احسان کیا اور ہمیں جہنّم کی زہریلی ہوا سے بچا لیا۔

اِنَّا كُنَّا مِنْ قَبْلُ نَدْعُوْهُ اِنَّهٗ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيْمُ

Innaa kunnaa min qablu nad'oohu innahoo huwa al-barru ar-raheem

Surely we called upon Him before: Surely He is the Benign, the Merciful.

ہم اس سے پہلے بھی اسی سے دعائیں کیا کرتے تھے کہ وہ یقینًا بڑا احسان کرنے والا اور مہربان ہے۔

فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ اَنْتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَّلَا مَجْنُوْنٍ

Fazakkir famaa anta bini'mati rabbika bikaahinin walaa majnoon

Therefore continue to remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman.

لہذا آپ لوگوں کو نصیحت کرتے رہیں، خدا کے فضل سے آپ نہ کاہن ہیں اور نہ مجنون۔

اَمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهٖ رَيْبَ الْمَنُوْنِ

Am yaqooloona shaa'irun natarabbasu bihee rayba al-manoon

Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time.

کیا یہ لوگ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ یہ شاعر ہے اور ہم اس کے بارے میں حوادثِ زمانہ کا انتظار کر رہے ہیں۔

قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوْا فَاِنِّيْ مَعَكُم مِّنَ الْمُتَرَبِّصِيْنَ

Qul tarabbasoo fa-innee ma'akum mina al-mutarabbiseen

Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait.

تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ بےشک تم انتظار کرو میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ انتظار کرنے والوں میں ہوں۔

اَمْ تَاْمُرُهُمْ اَحْلَامُهُمْ بِهٰذَآ اَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُوْنَ

Am ta'muruhum ahlaamuhum bihaazaa am hum qawmun taaghoon

Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people?

کیا ان کی عقلیں یہ باتیں بتاتی ہیں یا یہ واقعًا سرکش قوم ہیں۔

اَمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ تَقَوَّلَهٗ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ

Am yaqooloona taqawwalahoo bal laa yu'minoon

Or do they say: He has forged it. Nay! they do not believe.

یا یہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی نے قرآن گڑھ لیا ہے اور حقیقت یہ ہے کہ یہ ایمان لانے والے نہیں ہیں۔

فَلْيَاْتُوْا بِحَدِيْثٍ مِّثْلِهٖٓ اِنْ كَانُوْا صٰدِقِيْنَ

Fal-ya'too bihadeethin mithlihee in kaanoo saadiqeen

Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful.

اگر یہ اپنی بات میں سچے ہیں تو یہ بھی ایسا ہی کوئی کلام لے آئیں۔

اَمْ خُلِقُوْا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْءٍ اَمْ هُمُ الْخٰلِقُوْنَ

Am khuliqoo min ghayri shay'in am humu al-khaaliqoon

Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators?

کیا یہ بغیر کسی چیز کے از خود پیدا ہو گئے ہیں یا یہ خود ہی پیدا کرنے والے ہیں۔

اَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ بَل لَّا يُوْقِنُوْنَ

Am khalaqoo as-samaawaati wal-arda bal laa yooqinoon

Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! they have no certainty.

یا انہوں نے آسمان و زمین کو پیدا کر دیا ہے، حقیقت یہ ہے کہ یہ یقین کرنے والے نہیں ہیں۔

اَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ اَمْ هُمُ الْمُصَۜيْطِرُوْنَ

Am 'indahum khazaa'inu rabbika am humu al-musaytiroon

Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority?

یا ان کے پاس پروردگار کے خزانے ہیں یا یہی لوگ حاکم ہیں۔

اَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُوْنَ فِيْهِ فَلْيَاْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُمْ بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِيْنٍ

Am lahum sullamun yastami'oona feehi fal-ya'ti mustami'uhum bisultaanin mubeen

Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority.

یا ان کے پاس کوئی سیڑھی ہے جس کے ذریعہ آسمان کی باتیں سن لیا کرتے ہیں تو ان کا سننے والا کوئی واضح ثبوت لے آئے۔

اَمْ لَهُ الْبَنٰتُ وَلَكُمُ الْبَنُوْنَ

Am lahu al-banaatu walakumu al-banoon

Or has He daughters while you have sons?

یا خدا کے لئے لڑکیاں ہیں اور تمہارے لئے لڑکے ہیں۔

اَمْ تَسْئَلُهُمْ اَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُوْنَ

Am tas'aluhum ajran fahum min maghramin muthqaloon

Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt?

یا تم ان سے کوئی اجر رسالت مانگتے ہو کہ یہ اس کے بوجھ کے نیچے دبے جا رہے ہیں۔

اَمْ عِنْدَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُوْنَ

Am 'indahumu al-ghaybu fahum yaktuboon

Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down?

یا ان کے پاس غیب کا علم ہے کہ یہ اسے لکھ رہے ہیں۔

اَمْ يُرِيْدُوْنَ كَيْدًا فَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا هُمُ الْمَكِيْدُوْنَ

Am yureedoona kaydan fallazeena kafaroo humu al-makeedoon

Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war.

یا یہ کوئی مکاّری کرنا چاہتے ہیں تو یاد رکھو کہ کفار خود اپنی چال میں پھنس جانے والے ہیں۔

اَمْ لَهُمْ اِلٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللهِ سُبْحٰنَ اللهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُوْنَ

Am lahum ilaahun ghayru allaahi subhaana allaahi 'ammaa yushrikoon

Or have they a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him).

یا ان کے لئے خدا کے علاوہ کوئی دوسرا خدا ہے جب کہ خدا ان کے شرک سے پاک و پاکیزہ ہے۔

وَاِنْ يَّرَوْا كِسْفًا مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ سَاقِطًا يَّقُوْلُوْا سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُوْمٌ

Wa-in yaraw kisfan mina as-samaa'i saaqitan yaqooloo sahaabun markoom

And if they should see a portion of the heaven coming down, they would say: Piled up clouds.

اور یہ اگر آسمان کے ٹکڑوں کو گرتا ہوا بھی دیکھ لیں گے تو بھی کہیں گے یہ تو تہ بہ تہ بادل ہیں۔

فَذَرْهُمْ حَتّٰى يُلٰقُوْا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي فِيْهِ يُصْعَقُوْنَ

Fazarhum hattaa yulaaqoo yawmahumu allazee feehi yus'aqoon

Leave them then till they meet that day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon (with terror):

تو انہیں ان کے حال پر چھوڑ دیجئے یہاں تک کہ وہ دن دیکھ لیں جس دن بیہوش ہو جائیں گے۔

يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِيْ عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَّلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُوْنَ

Yawma laa yughnee 'anhum kayduhum shay'an walaa hum yunsaroon

The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped.

جس دن ان کی کوئی چال کام نہ آئے گی اور نہ کوئی مدد کرنے والا ہو گا۔

وَاِنَّ لِلَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا عَذَابًا دُوْنَ ذٰلِكَ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ

Wa-inna lillazeena zalamoo 'azaaban doona zaalika walaakinna aktharahum laa ya'lamoon

And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them do not know.

اور جن لوگوں نے ظلم کیا ہے ان کے لئے اس کے علاوہ بھی عذاب ہے لیکن ان کی اکثریت اس سے بے خبر ہے۔

وَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَاِنَّكَ بِاَعْيُنِنَا وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِيْنَ تَقُوْمُ

Wasbir lihukmi rabbika fa-innaka bi-a'yuninaa wasabbih bihamdi rabbika heena taqoom

And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise;

آپ اپنے پروردگار کے حکم کے لئے صبر کریں آپ ہماری نگاہ کے سامنے ہیں اور ہمیشہ قیام کرتے وقت اپنے پروردگار کی تسبیح کرتے رہیں۔

وَمِنَ الَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَاِدْبَارَ النُّجُوْمِ

Wamina allayli fasabbihhu wa-idbaara an-nujoom

And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars.

اور رات کے ایک حصّہ میں اور ستاروں کے غروب ہونے کے بعد بھی تسبیحِ پروردگار کرتے رہیں۔

صَدَقَ اللهُ الْعَلِیُّ الْعَظِیْمُ۔

Sadaqa allaahu al-'aliyyu al-'azeem.

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
