Dua Kumayl is recited weekly on Thursday evening, the eve of Friday, known as Shab-e-Jumah. There is a long-standing tradition of reciting it together in congregation at religious places. Because the Islamic day begins at maghrib, the gathering falls on a Thursday night here even though it belongs to Friday.
