About this day
Two days after he was struck at the morning prayer, Imam Ali (a) died, in the year 40 after the Hijra, aged 63. The date is not disputed, and it is distinct from Shab-e-Zarbat, which falls two nights earlier. The Centre holds a majlis, and the mourning tone runs through the night of Qadr that shares the same date.
