Allahumma Azomal Bala’a
اَللّٰہُمَّ عَظُمَ الْبَلٓائُ
Dua al-Faraj — the supplication for the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (ajtf). The page notes that it is recited at the shrine of Imam Musa al-Kazim (a), and it is among the duas the Shia tradition reads whenever the waiting feels long.
Its opening is a description of the state of things rather than a request: the affliction is severe, what was hidden has been laid bare, the covering is lifted, the earth has narrowed and the sky has been withheld. Only after that does it turn to Allah — to You alone is the complaint, and to You is the return in hardship and in ease — and ask blessings upon Muhammad and his progeny, and then the relief that the dua is named for.
Dua for the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a) in the Shrine of Imam Musa Kazim (a).
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰہُمَّ عَظُمَ الْبَلٓائُ وَبَرِحَ الْخَفَاۗئُ وَانْکَشَفَ الْغِطَاۗئُ وَضَاقَتِ الْاَرْضُ بِمَا وَسِعَتِ السَّمَاۗئُ وَاِلَیْکَ یَا رَبِّ الْمُشْتَکٰی وَعَلَیْکَ الْمُعَوَّلُ فِی الشِّدَّۃِ وَالرَّخَاۗئِ۔ اَللّٰہُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ اَلَّذِیْنَ اَمَرْتَنَا بِطَاعَتِہِمْ وَعَجِّلِ اللّٰہُمَّ فَرَجَہُمْ بِقَاۗئِمِہِمْ وَاَظْھِرْ اِعْزَازَہٗ یَا مُحَمَّدُ یَا عَلِیُّ یَا عَلِیُّ یَا مُحَمَّدُ اِکْفِیَانِیْ فَاِنَّکُمَا کَافِیَایَ، یَا مُحَمَّدُ یَا عَلِیُّ یَا عَلِیُّ یَا مُحَمَّدُ اُنْصُرَانِیْ فَاِنَّکُمَا نَاصِرَایَ۔ یَا مُحَمَّدُ یَا عَلِیُّ یَا عَلِیُّ یَا مُحَمَّدُ اِحْفِظَانِیْ فَاِنَّکُمَا حَافِظَایَ یَا مَوْلَایَ یَا صَاحِبَ الزَّمَانِ یَا مَوْلاَیَ یَا صَاحِبَ الزَّمَانِ یَا مَوْلاَیَ یَا صَاحِبَ الزَّمَانِ، اَلْغَوْثَ اَلْغَوْثَ اَلْغَوْثَ اَدْرِکْنِیْ اَدْرِکْنِیْ اَدْرِکْنِیْ، اَلْاَمَانَ اَلْاَمَانَ اَلْاَمَانَ۔
Allaahumma a’zomal balaaa-o, wa bare-hal khafaaa-o, wan-kasha-fal ghetaaa-o, wa zaaqatil arzo, be-maa wase-a’tis samaaa-o wa ilaiy-ka yaa rabbil mushta-kaa wa a’laiy-kal mo-a’wwalo fish-shidda-te war rakhaaa-e.
Allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin, al-lazee-na amar-tanaa be-taa-a’te-him wa ajje-lil-laahumma faraja-hum be-qaaae-me-him wa az-hir e’zaaza-hu, yaa mohammado yaa a’liyyo, yaa a’liyyo yaa mohammado, ikfe-yaanee fa-innako-maa kaafe-yaaya.
Yaa mohammado yaa a'liyyo, yaa a'liyyo yaa mohammado, oon-soraa-nee fa-inna-komaa naase-raaya.
Yaa mohammado yaa a'liyyo, yaa a'liyyo yaa mohammado, ih-fe-zaanee fa-inna-komaa haafe-zaaya, yaa mawlaaya yaa saahebaz zamaane yaa mawlaaya yaa saahebaz zamaane yaa mawlaaya yaa saahebaz zamaane, al-ghaws al-ghaws al-ghaws, adrik-nee adrik-nee adrik-nee, al-amaana al-amaana al-amaan.
O Allah the affliction is much, concealment has departed, the wrapper is uncovered, the Earth has become narrow while the Heaven become widen, O God unto You I laid complain, when in difficulties or comfort unto You I return, O Allah send blessing on Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad, those whom You have commanded me to obey. O Allah, hasten the coming of the riser among them and manifest his honour, O Muhammad! O Ali! O Ali! O Muhammad! Suffice me, both of you are enough, O Muhammad! O Ali! O Ali! O Muhammad! Assist me (both) you (both) are enough as a helper. O Muhammad! O Ali! O Ali! O Muhammad! Protect me (both) because you (both) are enough as a protector, O my master the leader of the time, O my master the leader of the time, O my master the leader of the time, the reliever, the reliever, the reliever, attain me, attain me, and attain me, protection, protection, protection.
اے معبود! مصیبت بڑھ گئی ہے اور رسوائی ہوچکی ہے پردہ فاش ہو گیا ہے زمین تنگ ہوگئی اور آسمان مخالف ہو گیا ہے اے پروردگار! تیرے حضور شکایت لایا ہوں اور تجھی پر میرا بھروسہ ہے تنگی اوروسعت میں۔ اے معبود! محمدؐ اور ان کی آلؑ پر رحمت نازل فرما جن کی پیروی تو نے ہم پر واجب کی ہے پس اس طرح تو نے ان کے مرتبے کی پہچان کرائی ان کے حق کا واسطہ ہے ہمیں کشائش وآسائش دے جلدی پلک جھپکنے میں یا اس سے بھی کم وقت میں۔ اے محمدؐ اے علیؑ، اے علیؑ اے محمدؐ میری مدد کریں کہ آپ دونوں میرے مدد گار ہیں میری نصرت کریں آپ دونوں میرے لیے کافی ہیں اے میرے آقا اے امام ِؑوقت اے فریادرس، فریادرس فریادرس میری مدد کو آئیں میری مدد کو آئیں میری مدد کو آئیں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
