Allahumma… fi haazal yaum
اَللّٰهُمَّ۔۔۔ فِي هٰذَا الْيَوْمِ
A supplication for a day of eid, built on a comparison the reciter makes against himself.
Its opening observes that on such a day people make themselves ready and take pains to call on someone from whom they hope for help, gifts and favours — and then says that all of that readiness and preparation is, for the reciter, directed to Allah alone.
What follows is the admission the dua turns on: “I have not come to You carrying a righteous deed that I might present, nor have I brought any creature as my intercessor” — only a confession of wrongdoing, and the threefold call, “O All-great, O All-great, O All-great.”

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ مَنْ تَهَيَّا فِي هٰذَا الْيَوْمِ اَوْ تَعَبَّا اَوْ اَعَدَّ وَاسْتَعَدَّ لِوِفَادَةٍ اِلٰى مَخْلُوْقٍ رَجَآءَ رِفْدِهٖ وَنَوَافِلِهٖ وَفَوَاضِلِهٖ وَعَطَايَاهُ فَاِنَّ اِلَيْكَ يَاسَيِّدِيْ تَهْيِئَتِيْ وَتَعْبِئَتِي وَاِعْدَادِيْ وَاسْتِعْدَادِيْ رَجَآءَ رِفْدِكَ وَجَوَآئِزِكَ وَنَوَافِلِكَ وَفَوَاضِلِكَ وَفَضَآئِلِكَ وَعَطَايَاكَ وَقَدْ غَدَوْتُ اِلٰى عِيْدٍ مِّنْ اَعْيَادِ اَمَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلٰى آلِهٖ۔
Allaahumma man tahayyaa fee haazaa al-yawmi aw ta'abbaa aw a'adda wasta'adda liwifaadatin ilaa makhlooqin rajaa'a rifdihee wanawaafilihee wafawaadilihee wa'ataayaahu fainna ilayka yaasayyidee tahyi'atee wata'bi'atee wai'daadee wasti'daadee rajaa'a rifdika wajawaa'izika wanawaafilika wafawaadilika wafadaa'ilika wa'ataayaaka waqad ghadawtu ilaa 'eedin min a'yaadi ammati nabiyyika muhammadin salawaatu allaahi 'alayhi wa'alaa aalihee. auto
O Allah, if one, on this day, prepares oneself, takes pains, gets ready, or prepares oneself to visit another one, hoping for his aid, gifts, benefits, and grants; for You alone, my Lord, is my readiness, preparations, taking pains, training, and inclination in the hope of gaining Your aid, gifts, grants, benefits, bounties, and donations. I find myself celebrating one of the feasts commemorated by the nation of Your Prophet, Muhammad, blessings of Allah be upon him and his Household.
اے معبود! جو شخص آمادہ ہے آج کے دن یا کمر بستہ ہے یا تیاری کرتا اور تیار ہوتا ہے لوگوں کی طرف جانےکے لئے اس امید سے کہ ان سے نقدی چیزیں بخششیں اور عطائیں لے لیکن اے میرے آقا میری تیاری میری آمادگی اور میری ساری کوشش تیری طرف آنے میں ہے کہ میں امیدوارہوں تیری عطاتیرے انعام تیری عنایتوں تیرے احسانوں تیری مہربانیوں اور بخششوں کا اور آج صبح کی ہے میں نے ایک عید کے دن جوان عیدوں سے ہے جو مقرر کیں تیرے نبی محمدؐ نے کہ خدا کی رحمتیں ہوں ان پر اور ان کی آلؑ پر اور۔
وَلَمْ اَفِدْ اِلَيْكَ الْيَوْمَ بِعَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ اَثِقُ بِهٖ قَدَّمْتُهٗ وَلَا تَوَجَّهْتُ بِمَخْلُوْقٍ اَمَّلْتُهٗ وَلٰكِنْ اَتَيْتُكَ خَاضِعًا مُّقِرًّا بِذُنُوْبِيْ وَاِسَآءَتِيْ اِلٰى نَفْسِيْ فَيَا عَظِيْمُ يَاعَظِيْمُ يَاعَظِيْمُ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الْعَظِيْمَ مِنْ ذُنُوْبِيْ فَاِنَّهٗ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ الْعِظَامَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ يَالَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ يَااَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔
Walam afid ilayka al-yawma bi'amalin saalihin athiqu bihee qaddamtuhoo walaa tawajjahtu bimakhlooqin ammaltuhoo walaakin ataytuka khaadi'an muqirran bizunoobee waisaa'atee ilaa nafsee fayaa 'azeemu yaa'azeemu yaa'azeemu aghfir liya al-'azeema min zunoobee fainnahoo laa yaghfiru az-zunooba al-'izaama illaa anta yaalaa allaaha illaa anta yaaarhama ar-raahimeena. auto
I have not come to You, today, carrying a righteous deeds that I may trust to present before You nor have I introduced a creature as my interceder before You; rather, I submissively draw near You confessing of my wrongdoings and my offenses to myself. So, O All-great, O All-great, O All-great, (please) forgive my grave wrongdoings, for, verily, no one can forgive serious transgressions save You. O He save Whom there is no god! O most Merciful of all the merciful!
میں آج تیرے حضور کوئی صالح عمل لے کر نہیں آیا ہوں جس کو یقینی طور پر پیش کروں نہ کسی مخلوق کی طرف توجہ اور امید رکھتا ہوں ہاں مگر تیری بارگاہ میں عاجز بن کر اپنے گناہوں اور خطاؤں کا اقراری ہوکر آیا ہوں تو اے عظمت والے اے عظمت والے اے عظمت والے بخش دے میرے بڑے بڑے گناہوں کو کیوں کہ تیرے سوا کوئی نہیں ہے جو بڑے بڑے گناہوں کو بخشتا ہو تیرے سوا کوئی معبودنہیں ہے اے سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
