Before leaving the House-1
گھر سے نکلتے وقت کی دعا۔۱
The dua said on the doorstep, kept among the short duas for leaving the house.
It opens with the takbir, then places the whole errand in Allah: “I leave in Allah, I return in Allah, and upon Allah do I depend.” What it asks for is ease at the beginning of the affair and ease at its sealing, and protection from the harm of every living creature — “that You hold by its forelock”, the Qur’an’s own image for a creation entirely within His grasp — ending with the certainty that “surely my Lord is on the straight path”.
اَللهُ اَكْبَرُ۔
Allahu akbar.
Allah is Greatest.
اللہ بزرگ تر ہے۔
بِالِلهِ اَخْرُجُ وَبِالِلهِ اَدْخُلُ وَعَلٰى لِلهِ اَتَوَكَّلُ۔
Be-lillaa-he akh-rojo wa be-lillaa-he ad-kholo wa ‘alaa lillaa-he ata-wak-kalo.
I leave (putting my trust) in Allah, I return (putting my trust) in Allah, and on Allah do I depend.
خدا کے ساتھ با ہر نکلتا ہوں خدا کے ساتھ اندر آتا ہوں اور خدا پر بھروسہ رکھتا ہوں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِىْ فِىْ وَجْهِىْ هٰذَا بِخَيْرٍ وَاخْتِمْ لِىْ بِخَيْرٍ وَقِنِىْ شَرَّ كُلِّ دَاۗبَّةٍ اَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهَا اِنَّ رَبِّىْ عَلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيْمٍ۔
Allaahum-maf tah lee fee waj-hee haazaa be-khai-rin wakh-tim lee be-khai-rin waqe-nee sharra kulle daa-abba-tin anta aa-khe-zoon benaa seya-tehaa inna rabbi ‘alaa seraa-tim musta-qeem.
O Allah, (please) grant me easiness in the beginning of this affair of mine, seal it for me with easiness, and guard me against the evil of every living creature that You hold by its forelock. Surely, my Lord is on the right path.
اے معبود ميرے اس کام ميں بھلائی کی راه کھول دے اور اس کا انجام بہتر کر دے اور مجھے ہر حرکت کرنے والے کی شر سے بچا جس کی مہار تيرے ہاتھ ميں ہے بے شک ميرا رب سيدھے راستے پر ہے۔
