Imam Abu’l-Hasan Musa (a) is reported to have said: When you intend to travel, you may stop at the door of your house and recite Surah Fateha in front of you as well as to your right and left sides. You may also recite Surah Ikhlaas, Surah Falaq and Surah Naas. You may then say the following supplicatory prayer…
امام موسیٰ کاظمؑ سے مروی ہے کہ جب تم سفر پر جانے لگو تو گھر کے دروازے پر کھڑے ہو کر سورۂ فاتحہ اپنے سامنے دایں بایں طرف پڑھو اسی طرح سورۂ اخلاص اور سورۂ فلق اور سورۂ ناس کو بھی باری باری اپنے سامنے دایں اور بایں طرف پڑھو اور پھر کہو۔۔۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ احْفَظْنِىْ وَاحْفَظْ مَا مَعِىَ وَسَلِّمْنِىْ وَسَلِّمْ مَا مَعِىَ وَبَلِّغْنِىْ وَبَلِّغْ مَا مَعِىَ بَلَاغًا حَسَنًا۔
Allaahumma ihfaznee wahfaz maa ma'iya wasallimnee wasallim maa ma'iya waballighnee waballigh maa ma'iya balaaghan hasanaa.
O Allah, (please) safeguard me and safeguard whatever is with me, keep me safe and keep safe whatever is with me, and make me and whatever is with me reach my destination in a perfect way.
اے معبود! میری حفاظت فرما اور جو کچھ میرے پاس ہے اس کی بھی اور مجھے اور جو کچھ میرے پاس ہے اسے سالم رکھ اور مجھے اور جو کچھ میرے ہمراہ ہے اسے اچھی طرح اپنی منزل پر پہنچا دے۔
