Dua before reading a Book
مطالعہ سے پہلے پڑھنے کی دعا
In the book of Khulasat Adhkar too, this supplicatory prayer is reported to be said before reading (a book or the like)…
خلاصۃ الاذکار ہی میں مذکور ہے کہ وقتِ مطالعہ یہ دعا پڑھے۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَخْرِجْنِىْ مِنْ ظُلُمَاتِ الْوَهْمِ وَاَكْرِمْنِىْ بِنُوْرِ الْفَهْمِ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ افْتَحْ عَلَيْنَا اَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَانْشُرْ عَلَيْنَا خَزَاۗئِنَ عُلُوْمِكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔
Allaahumma akh-rij-nee min zolo-maatil wahme wa akrim-nee be-nooril fahme.
Allaahum-maf tah ‘alaiy-na ab-waaba rahmate-ka wan-shur ‘alaiy-na khazaaa-e-na ‘oloo-meka be-rahmate-ka yaa ar-hamar raahe-meen.
O God, please bring me out of the darkness of doubt and favour me with the light of comprehension, O God open to us the doors of your mercy and unfold for us the treasure of your knowledge by your mercy O the most merciful of the merciful ones.
اے معبود! تو مجھ کو وہم کی تاریکیوں سے نکال اور عقل و فہم کے نور سے مجھے شرف عطا فرما۔ اے معبود! تو ہمارے لئے اپنی رحمت کے دروازے کھول دے اور اپنے علوم کے خزانے ہم پر نچھاور کر دے اپنی رحمت کے ساتھ، اے سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
