امام جعفر صادقؑ سے مروی ہے کہ حضرت رسول اکرمؐ نے فرمایا جو شخص یہ چا ہتا ہو کہ وہ نماز تہجد کے لئے جا گ اٹھے تو وہ سوتے وقت یہ دعا پڑھے۔ جب یہ پڑھ کر سوئے گا تو اللہ تعالیٰ ایک فرشتے کو مقرر فرمائے گا جو اس کے مطلوبہ وقت پر بیدار کرے گا۔۔۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا تُؤْمِنِّىْ مَكْرَكَ وَلَا تُنْسِنِىْ ذِكْرَكَ وَلَا تَجْعَلْنِىْ مِنَ الْغَافِلِيْنَ اَقُوْمُ سَاعَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا۔
Allaahumma laa tu'minnee makraka walaa tunsinee zikraka walaa taj'alnee mina al-ghaafileena aqoomu saa'ata kazaa wakazaa.
O Allah, (please) do not make me feel secure against Your plans, do not make me forget remembrance of You, and do not include me with the inattentive ones. I may wake up at… (The time at which one intends to wake up may be mentioned now.)
اے معبود! تو مجھے اپنی تدبیر سے بے خوف نہ ہونے دے اپنا ذکر فراموش نہ کرا اور مجھے غافلوں میں سے قرار نہ دے کہ میں فلاں فلاں وقت جاگ اٹھوں۔
