امام جعفر صادقؑ سے روایت ہے کہ جو شخص سوتے وقت یہ دعا ۳ مرتبہ پڑھے تو وہ گناہوں سے اس طرح باہر آجائے گا جیسے ابھی شکم مادر سے پیدا ہوا ہو۔
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِىْ عَلَا فَقَهَرَ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِىْ بَطَنَ فَخَبَرَ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِىْ مَلَكَ فَقَدَرَ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِىْ يُحْيِى الْمَوْتٰى وَيُمِيْتُ الْاَحْيَآءَ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ۔
Al-hamdu lillaahi allazee 'alaa faqahara wal-hamdu lillaahi allazee batana fakhabara wal-hamdu lillaahi allazee malaka faqadara wal-hamdu lillaahi allazee yuhyee al-mawtaa wayumeetu al-ahyaa'a wahuwa 'alaa kulli shay'in qadeer.
All praise be to Allah Who has exalted, thus dominated. All praise be to Allah Who has been immanent, thus known all things. All praise be to Allah Who has owned all things, thus had power over them all. All praise be to Allah Who gives life to the dead, causes the living to die, and He has power over all things.
حمد ہے خداکے لئے جو بلند ہوا تو غالب رہا، حمد ہے خدا کے لئے جو پوشیدہ ہے تو باخبر ہے، حمد ہے خدا کے لئے جو مالک ہے تو قدرت رکھتا ہے اور حمد ہے خدا کے لئے جو مردوں کو زندہ کرتا ہے اور زندوں کو موت دیتا ہے اور وہ ہر چیز پر قدرت رکھتا ہے۔
Shaikh Saduq has also reported the same tradition. The author of Uddat Da’i has added that Imam Sadiq (a), having declared this saying, commented, “This is the least praise one may say to the Lord.” However, according to this narration, the third phrase replaces the second.
صدوقؒ اور شیخؒ نے یہ روایت نقل فرمائی ہے عدةالداعی میں امام جعفر صادقؑ سے منقول ہے کہ یہ مختصرترین دعا ہے جو حمد الہی میں کافی ہو جاتی ہے لیکن اس روایت میں دوسری حمد تیسری حمد کے بعد ہے۔
