Hirz Imam-e-Reza (a)-1
حرز امام علی رضا (ع)۔۱
A hirz — a text recited for protection — reported from Imam Ali al-Rida (a), the eighth Imam.
Unusually, it is addressed not to Allah but at the harm itself. It takes refuge in the Beneficent from it, whether it be pious or impious; calls upon Allah, the All-hearing and All-seeing, to guard the reciter’s hearing and sight against its hearing and its sight; and then denies it any authority at all over them — not over their hearing, nor their sight, nor a hair of them. It closes with salawat upon Muhammad and his progeny.
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
بِسْمِ اللهِ اِنِّىْ اَعُوْذُ بِالرَّحْمٰنِ مِنْكَ اِنْ كُنْتَ تَقِيًّا اَوْ غَيْرَ تَقِىٍّ اَخَذْتُ بِاللهِ السَّمِيْعِ الْبَصِيْرِ عَلٰى سَمْعِكَ وَ بَصَرِكَ لَا سُلْطَانَ لَكَ عَلَىَّ وَلَا عَلٰى سَمْعِىْ وَلَا عَلٰى بَصَرِىْ وَلَاعَلٰى شَعْرِىْ وَلَاعَلٰى بَشَرِىْ وَلَا عَلٰى لَحْمِىْ وَلَا عَلٰى دَمِىْ وَلَا عَلٰى مُخِّىْ وَلَا عَلٰى عَصَبِىْ وَلَا عَلٰى عِظَامِىْ وَلَاعَلٰى مَالِىْ وَلَا عَلٰى مَا رَزَقَنِىْ رَبِّىْ سَتَرْتُ بَيْنِىْ وَبَيْنَكَ بِسِتْرِ النُّبُوَّةِ الَّذِى اسْتَتَرَ اَنْبِيَآءُ اللهِ بِهٖ مِنْ سَطَوَاتِ الْجَبَابِرَةِ وَالْفَرَاعِنَةِ جَبْرَئِيْلُ عَنْ يَمِيْنِىْ وَمِيْكَائِيْلُ عَنْ يَسَارِىْ وَاِسْرَافِيْلُ عَنْ وَرَآئِىْ وَمَحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهٖ اَمَامِىْ وَاللهُ مُطَّلِعٌ عَلَىَّ يَمْنَعُكَ مِنِّىْ وَيَمْنَعُ الشَّيْطَانَ مِنِّىْ۔ اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا يَغْلِبْ جَهْلُهٗ اَنَاتَكَ اَنْ يَّسْتَفِزَّنِىْ وَيَسْتَخِفَّنِىْ۔ اَللّٰهُمَّ اِلَيْكَ الْتَجَاْتُ، اَللّٰهُمَّ اِلَيْكَ الْتَجَاْتُ، اَللّٰهُمَّ اِلَيْكَ الْتَجَاْتُ۔
Bismillaahe innee aoo’zo bir rahmaane minka in kunta taqiyyan aw ghaira taqiyye a-khazto billaa-his samee-i’l baseere a’laa samee-e’ka wa basare-ka laa sultaana laka a’laiyya wa laa a’laa samee’ wa laa a’laa basa-ree wa laa a’laa sha’ree wa laa a’laa basha-ree wa laa a’laa lahmee, wa laa a’laa damee, wa laa a’laa mukh-khee, wa laa a’laa a’sabee, wa laa a’laa e’zaamee, wa laa a’laa maalee, wa laa a’laa maa razaq-nee rabbee satar-to baiy-nee wa baiy-naka be-sit-rin noboowa-til lazis tatara ambiyaaa-ul laahe be-hee min sata-waatil jabaabe-rate wal faraa-e’nate jabra-eelo a’n yamee-nee wa mikaaa-eelo a’n yasaa-ree wa israa-feelo a’n waraaa-ee wa mohammadun sallal laaho a’laiy-he wa aale-hi imaa-mee wallaaho muttale-u’n a’laiyya yamna-o’ka minnee wa yamna-u’sh shaitaane minnee.
Allaahumma laa yagh-lib jahlo-hu anaata-ka an yasta-fizza-nee wa yasta-khiffa-nee.
Allaahumma ilaiy-kal tajaa-to, allaahumma ilaiy-kal tajaa-to, allaahumma ilaiy-kal tajaa-to.
In the Name of Allah. Surely, I seek refuge in the Beneficent Allah from you, if you are pious or impious. I seek Allah the All-hearing and All-seeing to guard me against your hearing and your sight. You have authority neither over me, nor over my hearing, nor over my sight, nor over my hair, nor over my skin, nor over my flesh, nor over my blood, nor over my brain, nor over my veins, nor over my bones, nor over my property, nor over what my Lord has provided me. I block between you and me with the blockage of prophecy with which the prophets of Allah blocked against the sways of the tyrants and the oppressive rules. Gabriel is to my right side, Michael to my left side, Seraph to my backside, Muhammad, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Household, to my front side, and Allah is overseeing me to prevent you from me and prevent Satan from me. O Allah, let not his intolerance overcome Your forbearance lest he may provoke and belittle me. O Allah, to You do I resort. O Allah, to You do I resort. O Allah, to You do I resort.
خدا کے نام سے جو بڑا رحم والا مہربان ہے خدا کے نام سے بے شک میں تجھ سے خدا کی پناہ لیتا ہوں اگر تو پرہیزگا رہے یا پرہیزگار نہیں ہے میں نے سننے دیکھنے والے خدا کے ذریعے سے تیرے کانوں اور آنکھوں کو باندھ دیا ہے اب نہ مجھ پر تیرا کوئی بس ہے نہ میرے کانوں پر نہ میری آنکھوں پر نہ میرے بالوں پر نہ میرے پوست پر نہ میرےگوشت پر نہ میرےخون پر نہ میرے مغز پر نہ میرے پٹھوں پر نہ میری ہڈیوں پر تیرابس ہے نہ میرے مال پر اور نہ میرے رب کی دی ہوئی چیزوں پر تیرا کوئی بس ہے میں نے پردہ ڈال دیا ہے اپنے اور تیرے درمیان، نبوت کے پردے سے جس سےخدا کے نبیوں نے خود کو ڈھانپا تھا سخت گیروں اور فرعونوں کے حملوں سے چنانچہ جبرائیلؑ میری داہنی طرف اور میکائیلؑ میری بائیں طرف اسرافیلؑ میری پچھلی طرف اور محمد رسول اﷲؐمیرے آگے ہیں خدا میرا نگہدار ہے وہ مجھے تجھ سے دور کرے گا اورشیطان کو مجھ سے ہٹائے گا اے معبود!اس کی نادانی تیرے حوصلے پر غالب نہ ہو کہ وہ مجھ پر چڑھ آئے اور مجھے خوار کرے اے معبود!میں تیری پناہ میں ہوں اے معبود! میں تیری پناہ میں ہوں اے معبود! میں تیری پناہ میں ہوں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
