دُعا ء صبا ح
Dua al-Sabah — the Morning Supplication of Amir al-Mu’minin Ali ibn Abi Talib (a), recited after the dawn prayer.
Its language is unlike the rest of the collection. It opens on the daybreak itself — He who extended the tongue of the morning in the speech of its dawning, sent the fragments of the dark night into the gloom of its stammering, set firm the turning spheres — and only then turns to the reciter, who is described as one put at ease in the cradle of His safety.
The tradition reads it as a dua about beginnings: the day starting, and the one starting it asking to be carried through it.
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ يَامَنْ دَلَعَ لِسَانَ الصَّبَاحِ بِنُطْقِ تَبَلُّجِهٖ وَسَرَّحَ قِطَعَ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ بِغَيَاهِبِ تَلَجْلُجِهٖ وَاَتْقَنَ صُنْعَ الْفَلَكِ الدَّوَّارِ فِيْ مَقَادِيْرِ تَبَرُّجِهٖ وَشَعْشَعَ ضِيَآءَ الشَّمْسِ بِنُوْرِ تَاَجُّجِهٖ يَامَنْ دَلَّ عَلٰى ذَاتِهٖ بِذَاتِهٖ وَتَنَزَّهَ عَنْ مُجَانَسَةِ مَخْلُوْقَاتِهٖ وَجَلَّ عَنْ مُلَآءَمَةِ كَيْفِيَّاتِهٖ۔
Allaahumma yaa man dala-a’ lesaanas sabaahe be-nutqe taballojehi wa sarraja qeta-a’l laylil muzleme be-ghayaaheebe talajlojehi wa atqana sun-a’l falakid dawwaare fee maqaadeere tabarrojehi wa sha’shaa’ zeyaaa-ash shamse benoore ta-ajjojehi yaa man dalla a’laa zaatehi be-zaatehi wa tanazzaha a’n mojaanasatehi makhlooqaatehi wa jalla a’m molaa-amate kayfiyyaatehi.
Oh Allah, Oh He who extended the morning’s tongue in the speech of its dawning, dispatched the fragments of the dark night into the gloom of its stammering, made firm the structure of the turning spheres in the measures of its display and beamed forth the brightness of the sun through the light of its blazing! Oh He who demonstrates His Essence by His Essence, transcends congeniality with His creatures and is exalted beyond conformity with His qualities!
خد ا کے نا م سے(شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہا یت ر حم کرنے وا لا ہے اے میرے معبود! جس نے صبح کی زبان کو روشنی کی گویائی دی اور اندھیری رات کے ٹکڑوں کو لرزتی تاریکیوں سمیت ہنکا دیا اور گھومتے آسمان کی صنعت کو اس کے برجوں سے محکم کیا اور سورج کی روشنی کو اس کے نورِ فروزاں سے چمکایا۔ اے وہ جس نے اپنی ذات کو دلیل بنایا جو اپنی مخلوقات کا ہم جنس ہونے سے پاک اور اس کی کیفیتوں کی ملاوٹ سے بلند ہے۔
يَامَنْ قَرُبَ مِنْ خَطَرَاتِ الظُّنُوْنِ وَبَعُدَ عَنْ لَحَظَاتِ الْعُيُوْنِ وَعَلِمَ بِمَا كَانَ قَبْلَ اَنْ يَّكُوْنَ يَامَنْ اَرْقَدَنِيْ فِيْ مِهَادِ اَمْنِهٖ وَاَمَانِهٖ وَاَيْقَظَنِيْ اِلٰى مَا مَنَحَنِيْ بِهٖ مِنْ مِنَنِهٖ وَاِحْسَانِهٖ وَكَفَّ اَكُفَّ السُّوْءِ عَنِّيْ بِيَدِهٖ وَسُلْطَانِهٖ صَلِّ اللّٰهُمَّ عَلَى الدَّلِيْلِ اِلَيْكَ فِي الَّيْلَ الْاَلْيَلِ، وَالْمُتَمَسِّكِ مِنْ اَسْبَابِكَ بِحَبْلِ الشَّرَفِ الْاَطْوَلِ وَالنَّاصِعِ الْحَسَبِ فِيْ ذِرْوَةِ الْكَاهِلِ الْاَعْبَلِ وَالثَّابِتِ الْقَدَمِ عَلٰى زَحَالِيْفِهَا فِي الزَّمَنِ الْاَوَّلِ وَعَلٰى آلِهِ الْاَخْيَارِ الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ الْاَبْرَارِ۔
Yaa man qaroba min khataraatiz zonoone wa ba-o’da a’n lahazaatil o’yoone wa a’lema bemaa kaana qabla ayn yaakoona yaa man arqadanee fee mehaade amnehi wa amaanehi wa ayqazanee elaa maa manahanee behi min menanehi wa ehsaanehi wa kaffa akuffas sooo-e a’nnee beyadehi wa sultaanehi (wa qudratehi).
Sallil laahumma a’lad daleele elayka fil laylil alyal wal motamasseke (wal maaseke) min asbaabeka behablish-sharafil atwale wan naasehil hasabe fee zarwatil kaahelil a-a’bale was saabetil qadame a’laa zahaaleefehaa fiz zamanil awwal wa a’laa aalehil abraarit tayyebeenal mustafaynal akhyaar.
Oh He who is near to the passing thoughts of opinions, far from the sight of eyes and knows what will be before it comes to be! Oh He who has put me at ease in the cradle of His security and sanctuary, awakened me to the favors and kindness that He has bestowed upon me and held me from the claws of evil with His Hand and His Sultan! Bless, oh Allah, the guide to You in the darkest night, him who, of Your ropes, clings to the cord of the longest nobility, him whose glory is evident at the summit of stout shoulders and whose feet were entrenched in spite of slippery places in ancient time; and bless his household, the good, the chosen, the pious.
اے وہ جو ظنی خیالوں سے قریب ہے اور آنکھوں کے مشاہدے سے دور ہے اور ہونے والی چیزوں کوہونے سے پہلے جان چکا ہے اے وہ جس نے مجھے اپنے امن و سلامتی کے گہوارے میں سلایا اور اپنی بخشش اور احسان کو پانےکے لئے مجھے بیدار کیا اپنی قدرت و اقتدار سے برائی کو مجھ پر ہاتھ ڈالنے سے روکا۔ اے معبود! اس پر رحمت فرما جو تاریک رات میں تیری طرف رہنمائی کرنے والا، تیرے سہاروں میں سے شرف کی پا ئیدار رسّی کو پکڑ نے والا، اعلیٰ خاندان میں سے چمکتی پیشانی والا، استوار روش والا،آغاز ہی سے لغزشوں کے مواقع پر ثابت قدم رہنے والا ہے اور اس نبی کی نیکوکار برگزیدہ خوش کردار آلؑ پر رحمت فرما۔
وَافْتَحِ اللّٰهُمَّ لَنَا مَصَارِيْعَ الصَّبَاحِ بِمَفَاتِيْحِ الرَّحْمَةِ وَالْفَلَاحِ وَاَلْبِسْنِيْ اَللّٰهُمَّ مِنْ اَفْضَلِ خِلَعِ الْهِدَايَةِ وَالصَّلَاحِ وَاغْرِسِ اَللّٰهُمَّ بِعَظَمَتِكَ فِيْ شِرْبِ جَنَانِيْ يَنَابِيْعَ الْخُشُوْعِ وَاَجْرِ اَللّٰهُمَّ لِهَيْبَتِكَ مِنْ آمَاقِيْ زَفَرَاتِ الدُّمُوْعِ وَاَدِّبِ اَللّٰهُمَّ نَزَقَ الْخُرْقِ مِنِّيْ بِاَزِمَّةِ الْقُنُوْعِ۔
Waf-tahil laahumma lanaa masaaree-a’s sabaahe bemafaateehar rahmate wal-falaahe wa albisnal laahumma min afzale khela-i’l hedaayate wassalaahe.
Wagh resil laahumma be-a’zmateka fee shirbe janaanee yanaabee-a’l khoshooe’.
Waj ril laahumma lehaybateka aamaaqee zafaraatid domoo-e’.
Wa addebil laahumma nazaqal khurqe minnee be-azimmatil qonoo-e’.
And open for us, oh Allah, the leaves of morning’s door with the keys of mercy and prosperity! Clothe me, oh Allah, with the most excellent robes of guidance and righteousness! Plant, oh Allah, through Your tremendousness, the springs of humility in the watering place of my heart! Cause to flow, oh Allah, because of Your awesomeness, tears of sorrow from the corner of my eyes! And chastise, oh Allah, the recklessness of my clumsiness with the reins of contentment!
اے معبود! اپنی رحمت و بخشش کی کنجیوں سے ہمارے لئے صبح کے دروازے کھول دے۔اے معبود! مجھے نیکی وہدایت کا بہترین لباس پہنادے خداوندا! اپنی عظمت کے باعث میرے دل کی زمین میں خشوع و انکساری کے درخت لگا دے اے معبود! اپنی ہیبت کے لئے میری آنکھوں سے آنسوؤں کے تار جاری کردے۔خدایا! میری کج خلقی کو قناعت کی لگام ڈال دے!
اِلٰهِيْ اِنْ لَمْ تَبْتَدِئْنِي الرَّحْمَةُ مِنْكَ بِحُسْنِ التَّوْفِيْقِ فَمَنِ السَّالِكُ بِيْ اِلَيْكَ فِيْ وَاضِحِ الطَّرِيْقِ وَاِنْ اَسْلَمَتْنِيْ اَنَاتُكَ لِقَآئِدِ الْاَمَلِ وَالْمُنَىَ فَمَنِ الْمُقِيْلُ عَثَرَاتِيْ مِنْ كَبَوَاتِ الْهَوَىَ وَاِنْ خَذَلَنِيْ نَصْرُكَ عِنْدَ مُحَارَبَةِ النَّفْسِ وَالشَّيْطَانِ فَقَدْ وَكَلَنِيْ خِذْلَانُكَ اِلٰى حَيْثُ النَّصَبُ وَالْحِرْمَانُ۔
Elaahi il lam tabtadeanir rahmato minka behusnit tawfeeqe famanis saaleko bee elayka fee waazehit tareeqe wa in aslamatnee anaatoka leqaaedil amale wal monaa famanil moqeelo a’saratee min kabawaatil hawaa wa in khazalanee nasroka i’nda mohaarabatin nafse wash-shaytaane faqad wakalanee khizlaanoka elaa haysun nasabe wal hirmaan.
My Allah, if mercy from You does not begin with fair success for me, then who can take me to You upon the clear path? If Your patience would turn me over to the guide of hope and wishes, then who will annul my slips from the stumbles of desire? If Your help should forsake me in the battle with the soul and Shaitan, then Your forsaking will have entrusted me to where there is hardship and deprivation.
میرے اللہ اگر تو نے اپنی رحمت سے مجھے نیکی کی توفیق نہ دی تو کون مجھے تیری طرف کشادہ راہ پر لے چلے گا ؟اورتیری دی ہوئی ڈھیل سے میں خواہش کے پیچھے چل پڑا تو کون مجھے ہوس کی ٹھوکروں سے بچائے گا؟ اور اگر میرے نفس اور شیطا ن کی جنگ میں تیری نصرت میرے شاملِ حال نہ ہوتی تو گویا تیری دوری نے مجھے رنج و غم کے حوالے کر دیا ہوتا۔
اِلٰهِيْ اَتَرَانِيْ مَا اَتَيْتُكَ اِلَّا مِنْ حَيْثُ الْآمَالُ اَمْ عَلِقْتُ بِاَطْرَافِ حِبَالِكَ اِلَّا حِيْنَ بَاعَدَتْنِيْ ذُنُوْبِيْ عَنْ دَارِ (صِرْبَةِ) الْوِصَالِ فَبِئْسَ الْمَطِيَّةُ الَّتِي امْتَطَتْ نَفْسِيْ مِنْ هَوَاهَا فَوَاهًا لَهَا لِمَا سَوَّلَتْ لَهَا ظُنُوْنُهَا وَمُنَاهَا وَتَبًّا لَهَا لِجُرْاَتِهَا عَلٰى سَيِّدِهَا وَمَوْلَاهَا۔
Elaahi ataraanee maa ataytoka illaa min haysul aamaale am a’liqto beatraafe hebaaleka illaa heena baa-a’datnee zonoobee a’n daaril wesaale fa-bea-sal matiyyatul latim ta-tat nafsee min hawaahaa fawaahan lahaa lemaa sawwalat lahaa zonoonohaa wa monaahaa wa tabban lahaa lejuratehaa a’laa sayyedehaa wa mawlaahaa.
My Allah, do You see that I have only come to You from the direction of hope or clung to the ends of Your ropes when my sins have driven me from the house of union? So what an evil mount upon which my soul has mounted – its desires! Woe upon it for being seduced by its own opinions and wishes! And destruction be upon it for its audacity toward its Master and Protector!
میرے مالک کیا تیری نظر سے تیرے پاس اپنی خواہشوں کے لئے آیا ہوں یا میں نے تجھ سے اس وقت تعلق قائم کیا کہ جب میرے گناہوں نے مجھے تیرے دارالوصال (قربت)سے دور کردیا اب میرے دل نے خواہشوں کو اپنی بری سواری پرسوارکرایا لہٰذا اس پر اور اس کی خیالی تمناؤں پر حیف وافسوس ہے اور تباہی ہو اس کی جو اس نے اپنے آقا پر یہ جرأت کی ہے۔
اِلٰهِيْ قَرَعْتُ بَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ بِيَدِ رَجَآئِيْ وَهَرَبْتُ اِلَيْكَ لَاجِئَا مِنْ فَرْطِ اَهْوَآئِيْ وَعَلَّقْتُ بِاَطْرَافِ حِبَالِكَ اَنَامِلَ وَلَآئِيْ فَاصْفَحِ اَللّٰهُمَّ عَمَّا كُنْتُ (كَانَ) اَجْرَمْتُهٗ مِنْ زَلَلِيْ وَخَطَآئِيْ وَاَقِلْنِيْ مِنْ صَرْعَةِ رِدَآئِيْ فَاِنَّكَ سَيِّدِيْ وَمَوْلَايَ وَمُعْتَمَدِيْ وَرَجَآئِيْ، وَاَنْتَ غَايَةُ مَطْلُوْبِيْ وَمُنَايَ فِيْ مُنْقَلَبِيْ وَمَثْوَايَ۔
Elaahi qara’to baaba rahmateka beyade rajaaa-ee wa harabto elayka laajean min farte ahwaa-ee wa a’lliqto be-atraafe hebaaleka anamela walaaee fas-fahil laahumma a’mmaa kunto ajramtohu min zalalee wa khataa-ee wa aqilnil laahumma min sar-a’te zaatee fa-innaka sayyedee wa mawlaaya wa moa’tamadee wa rajaa-ee wa anta ghaayata matloobee wa monaaya fee munqalabee wa maswaaya.
My Allah, I have knocked upon the door of Your mercy with the hand of my hope, fled to You seeking refuge from my excessive desires and fixed the fingers of my love to the ends of Your ropes. So pardon, oh Allah, the slips and errors I have committed and release me from the foot-tangling of my robe. For You are my Master, my Protector, my Support and my Hope and You are the object of my search and my desire in my ultimate end and stable abode.
الہٰی میں نے اپنی امید کے ہاتھوں تیرے باب ِرحمت پر دستک دی ہے اور اپنی حد سے زیادہ تمناؤں سے ڈر کے تیرے پاس بھاگ آیا ہوں اور محبت کی انگلیوں سے تیرے دامن ِرحمت کو تھام لیا ہے۔ اے معبود! مجھ سے جو لغزشیں اور خطائیں ہوئی ہیں ان سے درگزر فرما اور میری چادر کی پایچی کی وادی ہلاکت سے حفاظت فرما کیوں کہ تو میرا آقا و مالک اور میرا سہارا اور امید ہے اور تو ہی اس دنیا اور آخرت میں میرا اصلی مطلوب و مقصود ہے۔
اِلٰهِيْ كَيْفَ تَطْرُدُ مِسْكِيْنًا الْتَجَاَ اِلَيْكَ مِنَ الذُّنُوْبِ هَارِبًا اَمْ كَيْفَ تُخَيِّبُ مُسْتَرْشِدًا قَصَدَ اِلٰى جَنَابِكَ سَاعِيًا(صَاقِبًا) اَمْ كَيْفَ تَرُدُّ ظَمْآنَ وَرَدَ اِلٰى حِيَاضِكَ شَارِبًا كَلَّا وَحِيَاضُكَ مُتْرَعَةٌ فِيْ ضَنْكِ الْمُحُوْلِ وَبَابُكَ مَفْتُوْحٌ لِّلطَّلَبِ وَالْوُغُوْلِ وَاَنْتَ غَايَةُ الْمَسْئُوْلِ (السُّؤْلِ) وَنِهَايَةُ الْمَامُوْلِ۔
Elaahee kayfa tat-rodo miskeenan iltaja-a elayka menaz zonoobe haareban am kayfa tokayyebo mustarshedan qasada elaa janaabeka saae’yan am kayfa tarudda zam-a’aana warada a’laa heyaazeka shaarebaa kallaa wa heyaazoka mutra-a’tun fee zankil mahoole wa baaboka maftoohun littalabe wal woghoole wa anta ghaayatal mas-oole wa nehaayatal maamool.
My Allah, how could You drive away a poor beggar who seeks refuge in You from sins, fleeing? Or how could You disappoint one seeking guidance who seeks Your threshold, running? Or how could You turn away a thirsty man who has come to Your pools, drinking. Never! For Your pools are full in the hardship of drought, Your door is open for seeking and penetration and You are the goal of requests and the object of hopes.
میرے معبود! تو اس بے چارے کو کیسے نکال دے گا جوتیرے پاس گناہوں سے بھاگ کر آیا ہے یا اس طالب ِہدایت کو کیسے مایوس کرے گا جو تیرے حضور دوڑتا ہوا آیا ہے یا اس پیاسے کو کیسے دور کرے گا جو تیرے کرم کے حوض سے پیاس بجھانے آیا ہے ہرگز نہیں!کہ تیرے فیض کے چشمے خشک سالی میں بھی رواں ہیں اور تیرا بابِ کرم داخلے اور سوال کے لئے کھلا ہے تو سوال کی انتہا اور امید کی آخری حد ہے۔
اِلٰهِيْ هٰذِهٖ اَزِمَّةُ نَفْسِيْ عَقَلْتُهَا بِعِقَالِ مَشِيَّتِكَ وَهٰذِهٖ اَعْبَآءُ ذُنُوْ بِيْ دَرَاتُهَا بِعَفْوِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ، وَهٰذِهٖ اَهْوَآئِيَ الْمُضِلَّةُ وَكَلْتُهَا اِلٰى جَنَابِ لُطْفِكَ وَرَافَتِكَ فَاجْعَلِ اللّٰهُمَّ صَبَاحِيْ هٰذَا نَازِلَا عَلَيَّ بِضِيَآءِ الْهُدٰى وَبِالسَّلَامَةِ (السَّلَامَةِ) فِي الدِّيْنِ وَالدُّنْيَا وَمَسَآئِيْ جُنَّةً مِّنْ كَيْدِ الْعِدٰى (الْاَعْدَآءِ) وَوِقَايَةً مِّنْ مُرْدِيَاتِ الْهَوٰى اِنَّكَ قَادِرٌ عَلٰى مَا تَشَآءُ۔
Elaahee haazehi azimmato nafsee a’qaltohaa be-e’qaale mashiyyateka wa haazehi a-a’baaa-o zonoobee daraatohaa be-a’fweka wa be-raafateka wa rahmateka wa haazehi ahwaa-il mozillato wakaltohaa elaa janaabe lutfeka wa raafateka.
Allaahumma fasalle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin.
Faj-a’lil (laahumma) sabaahee haazaa naazelan a’layya be-zeyaa-il hodaa wa bis-salaamate wal a’afeyate fid-deene wad dunyaa wal aakherate wa masaa-ee junnata min kaydil aa’daa-e wa weqaa-yatan min murdeyaatil hawaa fa-innaka qaaderun a’laa maa tashaa-o.
My Allah, these are the reins of my soul I have bound them with the ties of Your will. These are the burdens of my sins I have averted them with Your pardon and mercy. And these are my desires that lead astray, I have entrusted them to the threshold of Your gentleness and kindliness. So make this morning of mine, oh Allah, descend upon me with the radiance of guidance, and with safety in religion and this world! And make my evening a shield against the deception of enemies and a protection against the destructive blows of desire! Verily You are able over what You will!
میرے معبود! یہ میرے نفس کی باگیں ہیں جن کو میں نے تیری مشیت کی رسّی سے باندھ دیا ہے اور یہ ہیں میرے گناہوں کی گٹھریاں جو میں نے تیری بخشش و رحمت کے آگے لا رکھی ہیں اور یہ ہیں میری گمراہ کن خواہشیں جو میں نے تیرے لطف و کرم کے سپرد کر دی ہیں لہٰذا اے پروردگار! اس صبح کو میرے لئے نورِ ہدایت اور دین و دنیا کی سلامتی کی حامل بنا کر نازل فرمااور اس رات کو دشمنوں کی مکاری سے میری ڈھال اور ہلاک کرنے والی ہوس کی سپر بنادے بے شک تو جو چاہے اس پر قادر ہے۔
تُؤْتِي الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَآءُ وَتَنْزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشَآءُ بِيَدِكَ الْخَيْرُ اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْٓءٍ قَدِيْرٌ تُوْلِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَتُوْلِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ وَتَرْزُقُ مَنْ تَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ۔
Toatil mulka man tashaaao wa tanze-u’l mulka mimman tashaaa-o wa to-i’zzo man tashaaa-o wa tozillo man tashaaa-o beyadekal khayro innaka a’laa kulle shay-in qadeer.
Toolejul layla fin nahaare wa toolejun nahaara fil layle wa tukhrejul hayya menal mayyete wa tukhrejul mayyeta menal hayye wa tarzoqo man tashaaa-o be-ghayre hesaab.
You give the kingdom to whom You will, and You seize the kingdom from whom You will; You exalt whom You will, and You abase whom You will; in Your hand is the good; You are powerful over all things. You make the night to enter into the day, and You make the day to enter into the night; You bring forth the living from the dead, and You bring forth dead from the living; and You provide whomsoever You will without accountability.
جسے چاہے ملک دیتا ہے اور جس سے چاہے واپس لے لیتا ہے اور جسے چاہے عزّت دیتا اور جسے چاہے ذلت دیتا ہے،ہر بھلائی تیرے ہاتھ میں ہے بے شک تو ہر چیز پر قادر ہے، رات کو دن میں داخل کرتا ہے اور دن کو رات میں داخل کرتا ہے مردہ سے زندہ اور زندہ سے مردہ کو برآمد کرتا ہے اور جسے چاہے بے حساب رزق عطا فرماتا ہے۔
لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ اللّٰهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ مَنْ ذَا يَعْرِفُ قَدْرَكَ فَلَا يَخَافُكَ، وَمَنْ ذَا يَعْلَمُ مَا اَنْتَ فَلَا يَهَابُكَ اَلَّفْتَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ الْفَرَقِ وَفَلَقْتَ بِلُطْفِكَ الْفَلَقَ وَاَنَرْتَ بِكَرَمِكَ دَيَاجِيَ الْغَسَقِ وَاَنْهَرْتَ الْمِيَاهَ مِنَ الصُّمِّ الصَّيَاخِيْدِ عَذْبًا وَّاُجَاجًا وَّاَنْزَلْتَ مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِ مَاءً ثَجَّاجًا وَّجَعَلْتَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لِلْبَرِيَّةٖ سِرَاجًا وَّهَّاجًا مِّنْ غَيْرِ اَنْ تُمَارِسَ فِيْمَا ابْتَدَاتَ بِهٖ لُغُوْبًا وَّلَاعِلَاجًا۔
Laa elaaha illaa anta subhaanaka allaahumma wa behamdeka man zaa ya’refo qudrataka falaa yakhaafoka wa man zaa ya’lamo maa anta falaa yahaaboka allafta bequdratekal feraqa wa falaqta be-rahmateka falaqa wa anarta bekarameka dayaajeyal ghasaqe wa anhartal meyaaha menas summis sayaakheede a’zban wa ojaajan wa anzalta menal moa’seraate maaa-an sajjaajan wa ja-a’ltash shamsa wal qamara lilbariyyate seraajan wahhaajan min ghayre an tomaaresa feemab tadaata behi loghooban wa laa e’laajan.
There is no god but You! Glory be to You, oh Allah, and Thine is the praise! Who knows Your measure without fearing You? Who knows what You are without awe of You? Through Your power You have joined contrasting things, through Your gentleness You have cleaved apart the daybreak and through Your generosity You have illumined the dark shrouds of night. You have made waters, sweet and salt flow forth from hard shining stones, sent down out of rain-clouds water cascading and appointed the sun and moon a blazing lamp for the creatures, without experiencing in that which You originated either weariness or effort.
تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں پاک ہے تو اے اللہ اور حمد تیرے ہی لئے ہے کون ہے جو تیری قدر ت و عظمت کو پہچانے تو اس سے نہ ڈرے؟ کون ہے جو جانتا ہو تو کون ہے پھر تجھ سے مرعوب و خوف زدہ نہ ہو؟ تو نے اپنی قدرت سے منتشرکو متحد کیا اور اپنے لطف سے صبح کے اجالےکو نمایاں کیا اور تو نے ہی اپنے کرم سے تاریک راتوں کو روشن کیا اور تو نے سخت پتھروں میں سے میٹھے اور کھاری پانی کے چشمے جاری کیے اور بادلوں سے صاف وشفاف میٹھا پانی برسایا اور تو نے سورج اور چاند کو مخلوق کے لئے روشن چراغ قرار دیا بغیر اس کے کہ پیدا کرنے میں تجھے کوئی تھکاوٹ و خستگی عارض ہوئی یا تو محتاج ہوا ہو۔
فَيَا مَنْ تَوَحَّدَ بِالْعِزِّ وَالْبَقَآءِ وَقَهَرَ عِبَادَهٗ بِالْمَوْتِ وَالْفَنَآءِ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِهِ الْاَتْقِيَآءِ وَاسْمَعْ نِدَآئِيْ وَاسْتَجِبْ دُعَآئِيْ وَحَقِّقْ بِفَضْلِكَ اَمَلِيْ وَرَجَآئِيْ يَاخَيْرَ مَنْ دُعِيَ لِكَشْفِ الضُّرِّ وَالْمَامُوْلِ لِكُلِّ (فِيْ كُلِّ) عُسْرٍ وَّيُسْرٍۢ بِكَ اَنْزَلْتُ حَاجَتِيْ فَلَا تَرُدَّنِيْ مِنْ سَنِيِّ (بَابِ) مَوَاهِبِكَ خَآئِبًا يَاكَرِيْمُ يَاكَرِيْمُ يَاكَرِيْمُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَااَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلٰى خَيْرِ خَلْقِهٖ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِهٖ اَجْمَعِيْنَ۔
Fayaa man tawahhada bil-i’zze wal baqaaa-e wa qahara e’baadahu bil-mawte wal fanaaa-e salle a’laa mohammadinw wa aalehil atqeyaaa-e (ahlik a-a’daaa-ee) was tame’ nedaaa-ee was tajib doa’aa-ee wa haqqiq befazleka amalee wa rajaaa-ee yaa khayra man do-e’ya le-kashfiz zurre wal-maamoole lekulle u’srin wa yusrin yaa sayyedee beka anzalto haajatee falaa taruddanee min saniyye mawaahebeka khaaaeban yaa kareemo yaa kareemo yaa kareemo be-rahmateka yaa arhamar raahemeen wa sallal laaho a’laa mohammadin wa aalehit tayyebeenat taaheereena ajma-e’en.
So, Oh He who is alone in might and subsistence and dominates His slaves with death and annihilation, Bless Muhammad (s.a.w.a)and His Household (a.s), the Pious, answer my supplication hear my call, and actualize through Your bounty my hope and desire. Oh best of those who is called to remove affliction and object of hope in every difficulty and ease! I have stated my need, so do not reject me, oh my master, despairing of Your exalted gifts. Oh All-generous! Oh All-generous! Oh All-generous! By Your mercy, oh Most Merciful of the merciful! And Allah bless the best of His creatures, Muhammad (s.a.w.a), and all His Household (a.s).
لہٰذا اے عزّت اور بقا میں یگانہ اور موت وفنا کے ذریعے بندوں پر غالب رہنے والے! محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر رحمت فرما جو پرہیزگار ہیں اور میری پکار سن لے میری دعا قبول فرما اور اپنے کرم سے میری تمناو امید پوری کر دے اے وہ بہترین ذات جسے تکلیف دور کرنےکے لئے پکارا جاتا ہے اور اے تنگی و آسائش کی امید گاہ، میں تیرے حضور حاجت لے کر آیا ہوں پس مجھے اپنی وسیع عطاؤں سے محرومی کے ساتھ دور نہ کر یاکریم یاکریم یاکریم اپنی رحمت کے ساتھ اے سب سے زیادہ رحمت کرنے والے اور اس کی بہترین مخلوق حضرت محمدؐ اور ان کی سبھی آلؑ پر خدا کی رحمت ہو۔
اِلٰهِيْ قَلْبِيْ مَحْجُوْبٌ وَّنَفْسِيْ مَعْيُوْبٌ وَّعَقْلِيْ مَغْلُوْبٌ وَّهَوَآئِيْ غَالِبٌ وَّطَاعَتِيْ قَلِيْلٌ وَّمَعْصِيَتِيْ كَثِيْرٌ وَّلِسَانِيْ مُقِرٌّۢ بِالذُّنُوْبِ فَكَيْفَ حِيْلَتِيْ يَاسَتَّارَ الْعُيُوْبِ وَيَا عَلَّامَ الْغُيُوْبِ وَيَا كَاشِفَ الْكُرُوْبِ اغْفِرْ ذُنُوْبِيْ كُلَّهَا بِحُرْمَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔ يَاغَفَّارُ يَاغَفَّارُ يَاغَفَّارُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَااَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔
Elaahee qalbee mahjoobun wa nafsee ma’yoobun wa aqlee maghloobun wa hawaaa-ee ghaalebun wa taa-a’tee qaleelun wa ma’seyatee kaseerun wa lesaanee moqirrun biz-zonoobe fakayfa heelatee yaa a’llaamal ghoyoobe yaa sattaaral o’yoobe wa ghaffaaraz zonoobe fagh fir lee zonoobee kullahaa yaa ghaffaaro yaa ghafooro yaa haleemo yaa raheemo waq ze haajatee be-haqqil quraanil a’zeeme wan nabiyyil kareeme wa aalehit tayyebeenat taahereena tobto yaa zal jalaale wal ikraame min jamee-i’z zonoobe wal aasaame wal hamdo lillaahe rabbil a’alameena wa sallal laaho a’laa mohammadin wa aalehi ajma-e’enat tayyebeenat taahereenal ma’soomeenal akhyaar.
My Allah, my heart is veiled, my soul deficient my intelligence defeated my desires triumphant, my obedience little, my disobedience much and my tongue acknowledges sins. So what am I to do? Oh He who covers defects! Oh He who knows the unseen things! Oh He who removes calamaties Forgive my sins, all of them, by the sacredness of Muhammad (s.a.w.a) and the Household of Muhammad (a.s)! Oh All-forgiver! Oh All-forgiver! Oh All-forgiver! By Your mercy, oh Most Merciful of the merciful!
خدایا!میرے دل پر حجاب ہے میرے نفس میں عیب ہے میری عقل ناکارہ ہے میری خواہش غالب میری عبادت کم اور گناہ بہت زیادہ ہیں میری زبان گناہوں کا اقرار کرتی ہے تو میرا چارۂ کار کیا ہے؟ اے عیبوں کو چھپانے والے اے چھپی باتوں کو جاننے والے اے دکھوں کو دور کرنے والے میرے تمام گناہ بخش دے محمدؐؐ و آل ؑمحمدؐ کی حرمت کے واسطے سے یاغفار یاغفار یاغفار اپنی رحمت کے ساتھ اے سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
