Surah Yunoos (10, 109 ayat)سورۂ یونس

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Alif Lam Ra. These are the verses of the wise Book.

الر۔ پُر از حکمت کتاب کی آیتیں ہیں۔

What! is it a wonder to the people that We revealed to a man from among themselves, saying: Warn the people and give good news to those who believe that theirs is a footing of firmness with their Lord. The unbelievers say: This is most surely a manifest enchanter.

کیا لوگوں کے لئے یہ بات عجیب ہے کہ انہیں میں سے ایک مرد پر ہم یہ وحی نازل کردیں کہ لوگوں کو عذاب سے ڈراؤ اور صاحبانِ ایمان کو بشارت دے دو کہ ان کے لئے پروردگار کی بارگاہ میں بلند ترین درجہ ہے، مگر یہ کافر کہتے ہیں کہ یہ کھلا ہوا جادوگر ہے۔

Surely your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six periods, and He is firm in power, regulating the affair, there is no intercessor except after His permission; this is Allah, your Lord, therefore serve Him; will you not then mind?

بےشک تمہارا پروردگار وہ ہے جس نے زمین و آسمان کو چھ دنوں میں پیدا کیا ہے پھر اس کے بعد عرش پر اپنا اقتدار قائم کیاہے وہ تمام امور کی تدبیر کرنے والا ہے کوئی اس کی اجازت کے بغیر شفاعت کرنے والا نہیں ہے، وہی تمہارا پروردگار ہے اور اسی کی عبادت کرو کیا تمہیں ہوش نہیں آرہا ہے۔

To Him is your return, of all (of you); the promise of Allah (made) in truth; surely He begins the creation in the first instance, then He reproduces it, that He may with justice recompense those who believe and do good; and (as for) those who disbelieve, they shall have a drink of hot water and painful punishment because they disbelieved.

اسی کی طرف تم سب کی بازگشت ہے، یہ خدا کا سّچا وعدہ ہے، وہی خلقت کا آغاز کرنے والا ہے اور واپس لے جانے والا ہے تاکہ ایمان اور نیک عمل والوں کو عادلانہ جزا دے سکے اور جو کافر ہوگئے ہیں ان کے لئے تو گرم پانی کا مشروب ہے اور ان کے کفر کی بنا پر دردناک عذاب بھی ہے۔

He it is Who made the sun a shining brightness and the moon a light, and ordained for it mansions that you might know the computation of years and the reckoning. Allah did not create it but with truth; He makes the signs manifest for a people who know.

اسی خدا نے آفتاب کو روشنی اورچاند کو نور بنایا ہے پھر چاند کی منزلیں مقرر کی ہیں تاکہ ان کے ذریعہ برسوں کی تعداد اور دوسرے حسابات دریافت کرسکو۔ یہ سب خدا نے صرف حق کے ساتھ پیدا کیا ہے کہ وہ صاحبانِ علم کے لئے اپنی آیتوں کو تفصیل کے ساتھ بیان کرتا ہے۔

Most surely in the variation of the night and the day, and what Allah has created in the heavens and the earth, there are signs for a people who guard (against evil).

بےشک دن رات کی آمدورفت اور جو کچھ خدا نے آسمان و زمین میں پیدا کیا ہے ان سب میں صاحبانِ تقویٰ کے لئے اس کی نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں۔

Surely those who do not hope in Our meeting and are pleased with this world’s life and are content with it, and those who are heedless of Our communications:

یقینًا جو لوگ ہماری ملاقات کی امید نہیں رکھتے ہیں اور زندگانی دنیا پر ہی راضی اور مطمئن ہوگئے ہیں اور جو لوگ ہماری آیات سے غافل ہیں۔

(As for) those, their abode is the fire because of what they earned.

یہ سب وہ ہیں جن کے اعمال کی بنا پر ان کا ٹھکانا جہنّم ہے۔

Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, their Lord will guide them by their faith; there shall flow from beneath them rivers in gardens of bliss.

بےشک جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے نیک اعمال کئے خدا ان کے ایمان کی بنا پر اس منزل کی طرف ان کی رہنمائی کرے گا جہاں نعمتوں کے باغات کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی۔

Their cry in it shall be: Glory to Thee, O Allah! and their greeting in it shall be: Peace; and the last of their cry shall be: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

وہاں ان کا قول یہ ہوگا کہ خدایا تو پاک اور بے نیاز ہے اور ان کا تحفہ سلام ہوگا اور ان کا آخری بیان یہ ہوگا کہ ساری تعریف خدائے رب العالمین کے لئے ہے۔

And if Allah should hasten the evil to men as they desire the hastening on of good, their doom should certainly have been decreed for them; but We leave those alone who hope not for Our meeting in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on.

اگر خدا لوگوں کے لئے برائی میں بھی اتنی ہی جلدی کردیتا جتنی یہ لوگ بھلائی میں چاہتے ہیں تو اب تک ان کی مدت کا فیصلہ ہوچکا ہوتا۔ ہم تو اپنی ملاقات کی امید نہ رکھنے والوں کو ان کی سرکشی میں چھوڑ دیتے ہیں کہ یہ یونہی ٹھوکریں کھاتے پھریں۔

And when affliction touches a man, he calls on Us, whether lying on his side or sitting or standing; but when We remove his affliction from him, he passes on as though he had never called on Us on account of an affliction that touched him; thus that which they do is made fair-seeming to the extravagant.

انسان کو جب کوئی نقصان پہنچتا ہے تو اٹھتے بیٹھتے کروٹیں بدلتے ہم کو پکارتا ہے اور جب ہم اس نقصان کو دور کردیتے ہیں تو یوں گزر جاتا ہے جیسے کبھی کسی مصیبت میں ہم کو پکارا ہی نہیں تھا بےشک زیادتی کرنے والوں کے اعمال یوں ہی ان کے سامنے آراستہ کردئیے جاتے ہیں۔

And certainly We did destroy generations before you when they were unjust, and their apostles had come to them with clear arguments, and they would not believe; thus do We recompense the guilty people.

یقینًا ہم نے تم سے پہلے والی امتوں کو ہلاک کردیا جب انہوں نے ظلم کیا اور ہمارے پیغمبر ہماری نشانیاں لے کر آئے تو وہ ایمان نہ لاسکے۔ ہم اسی طرح مجرم قوم کو سزا دیتے ہیں۔

Then We made you successors in the land after them so that We may see how you act.

اس کے بعد ہم نے تم کو روئے زمین پر ان کا جانشین بنادیا تاکہ دیکھیں کہ اب تم کیسے اعمال کرتے ہو۔

And when Our clear communications are recited to them, those who hope not for Our meeting say: Bring a Quran other than this or change it. Say: It does not beseem me that I should change it of myself; I follow naught but what is revealed to me; surely I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the punishment of a mighty day.

اور جب ان کے سامنے ہماری آیات کی تلاوت کی جاتی ہے تو جن لوگوں کو ہماری ملاقات کی امید نہیں ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ اس کے علاوہ کوئی دوسرا قرآن لائیے یا اسی کو بدل دیجئے تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ مجھے اپنی طرف سے بدلنے کا کوئی اختیار نہیں ہے میں تو صرف اس امر کا اتباع کرتا ہوں جس کی میری طرف وحی کی جاتی ہے میں اپنے پروردگار کی نافرمانی کروں تو مجھے ایک بڑے عظیم دن کے عذاب کا خوف ہے۔

Say: If Allah had desired (otherwise) I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have taught it to you; indeed I have lived a lifetime among you before it; do you not then understand?

آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ اگر خدا چاہتا تو میں تمہارے سامنے تلاوت نہ کرتا اور تمہیں اس کی اطلاع بھی نہ کرتا۔ آخر میں اس سے پہلے بھی تمہارے درمیان ایک مدّت تک رہ چکا ہوں تو کیا تمہارے پاس اتنی عقل بھی نہیں ہے۔

Who is then more unjust than who forges a lie against Allah or (who) gives the lie to His communications? Surely the guilty shall not be successful.

اس سے بڑا ظالم کون ہے جو اللہ پر جھوٹا الزام لگائے یا اس کی آیتوں کی تکذیب کرے جب کہ وہ مجرمین کو نجات دینے والا نہیں ہے۔

And they serve beside Allah what can neither harm them nor profit them, and they say: These are our intercessors with Allah. Say: Do you (presume to) inform Allah of what He knows not in the heavens and the earth? Glory be to Him, and supremely exalted is He above what they set up (with Him).

اور یہ لوگ خدا کو چھوڑ کر ان کی پرستش کرتے ہیں جو نہ نقصان پہنچاسکتے ہیں اور نہ فائدہ اور یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ یہ خدا کے یہاں ہماری سفارش کرنے والے ہیں تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ تم تو خدا کو اس بات کی اطلاع کررہے ہو جس کا علم اسے آسمان و زمین میں کہیں نہیں ہے وہ پاک و پاکیزہ ہے اور ان کے شرک سے بلند و برتر ہے۔

And people are naught but a single nation, so they disagree; and had not a word already gone forth from your Lord, the matter would have certainly been decided between them in respect of that concerning which they disagree.

سارے انسان فطرتًا ایک امت تھے پھر سب آپس میں الگ الگ ہوگئے اور اگر تمہارے رب کی بات پہلے سے طے نہ ہوچکی ہوتی تو یہ جس بات میں اختلاف کرتے ہیں اس کا فیصلہ ہوچکا ہوتا۔

And they say: Why is not a sign sent to him from his Lord? Say: The unseen is only for Allah; therefore wait- surely I too, with you am of those who wait.

یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ خدا کی طرف سے ان پر کوئی نشانی کیوں نہیں نازل ہوتی تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ تمام غیب کا اختیار پروردگار کو ہے اور تم انتظار کرو اور میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ انتظار کرنے والوں میں ہوں۔

And when We make people taste of mercy after an affliction touches them, lo! they devise plans against Our communication. Say: Allah is quicker to plan; surely Our messengers write down what you plan.

اور جب تکلیف پہنچنے کے بعد ہم نے لوگوں کو ذرا رحمت کا مزہ چکھادیا تو فورًا ہماری آیتوں میں مکاری کرنے لگے تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ خدا تم سے تیز تر تدبیریں کرنے والا ہے اور ہمارے نمائندے تمہارے مکر کو برابر لکھ رہے ہیں۔

He it is Who makes you travel by land and sea; until when you are in the ships, and they sail on with them in a pleasant breeze, and they rejoice, a violent wind overtakes them and the billows surge in on them from all sides, and they become certain that they are encompassed about, they pray to Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience: If Thou dost deliver us from this, we will most certainly be of the grateful ones.

وہ خدا وہ ہے جو تمہیں خشکی اور سمندر میں سیر کراتا ہے یہاں تک کہ جب تم کشتی میں تھے اور پاکیزہ ہوائیں چلیں اور سارے مسافر خوش ہوگئے تو اچانک ایک تیز ہوا چل گئی اور موجوں نے ہر طرف سے گھیرے میں لے لیا اور یہ خیال پیدا ہوگیا کہ چاروں طرف سے گھر گئے ہیں تو دین خالص کے ساتھ اللہ سے دعا کرنے لگے کہ اگر اس مصیبت سے نجات مل گئی تو ہم یقینًا شکر گزاروں میں ہوجائیں گے۔

But when He delivers them, lo! they are unjustly rebellious in the earth. O men! your rebellion is against your own souls- provision (only) of this world’s life- then to Us shall be your return, so We will inform you of what you did.

اس کے بعد جب اس نے نجات دے دی تو زمین میں ناحق ظلم کرنے لگے۔ انسانو! یاد رکھو تمہارا ظلم تمہارے ہی خلاف ہوگا یہ صرف چند روزہ زندگی کا مزہ ہے اس کے بعد تم سب کی بازگشت ہماری ہی طرف ہوگی اور پھر ہم تمہیں بتائیں گے کہ تم دنیا میں کیا کررہے تھے۔

The likeness of this world’s life is only as water which We send down from the cloud, then the herbage of the earth of which men and cattle eat grows luxuriantly thereby, until when the earth puts on its golden raiment and it becomes garnished, and its people think that they have power over it, Our command comes to it, by night or by day, so We render it as reaped seed- produce, as though it had not been in existence yesterday; thus do We make clear the communications for a people who reflect.

زندگانی دنیا کی مثال صرف اس بارش کی ہے جسے ہم نے آسمان سے نازل کیا پھر اس سے مل کر زمین سے وہ نباتات برآمد ہوئیں جن کو انسان اورجانور کھاتے ہیں یہاں تک کہ جب زمین نے سبزہ زار سے اپنے کو آراستہ کرلیا اور مالکوں نے خیال کرنا شروع کردیا کہ اب ہم اس زمین کے صاحبِ اختیار ہیں تو اچانک ہمارا حکم رات یا دن کے وقت آگیا اور ہم نے اسے بالکل کٹا ہوا کھیت بنادیا گویا اس میں کل کچھ تھا ہی نہیں۔ ہم اسی طرح اپنی آیتوں کو مفصل طریقہ سے بیان کرتے ہیں اس قوم کے لئے جو صاحبِ فکر و نظر ہے۔

And Allah invites to the abode of peace and guides whom He pleases into the right path.

اللہ ہر ایک کو سلامتی کے گھر کی طرف دعوت دیتا ہے اور جسے چاہتا ہے سیدھے راستہ کی ہدایت دے دیتا ہے۔

For those who do good is good (reward) and more (than this); and blackness or ignominy shall not cover their faces; these are the dwellers of the garden; in it they shall abide.

جن لوگوں نے نیکی کی ہے ان کے واسطے نیکی بھی ہے اور اضافہ بھی اور ان کے چہروں پر نہ سیاہی ہوگی اور نہ ذلت، وہ جنّت والے ہیں اور وہیں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں۔

And (as for) those who have earned evil, the punishment of an evil is the like of it, and abasement shall come upon them- they shall have none to protect them from Allah- as if their faces had been covered with slices of the dense darkness of night; these are the inmates of the fire; in it they shall abide.

اور جن لوگوں نے برائیاں کمائی ہیں ان کے لئے ہر برائی کے بدلے ویسی ہی برائی ہے اور ان کے چہروں پر گناہوں کی سیاہی بھی ہوگی اور انہیں عذاب الٰہی سے بچانے والا کوئی نہ ہوگا۔ ان کے چہرے پر جیسے سیاہ رات کی تاریکی کا پردہ ڈال دیا گیا ہو۔ وہ اہل جہنّم ہیں اور اسی میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں۔

And on the day when We will gather them all together, then We will say to those who associated others (with Allah): Keep where you are, you and your associates; then We shall separate them widely one from another and their associates would say: It was not us that you served:

جس دن ہم سب کو اکٹھا جمع کریں گے اور اس کے بعد شرک کرنے والوں سے کہیں گے کہ تم اور تمہارے شرکاء سب اپنی اپنی جگہ ٹھہرو اور پھر ہم ان کے درمیان جدائی ڈال دیں گے اور ان کے شرکاء کہیں گے کہ تم ہماری عبادت تو نہیں کرتے تھے۔

Therefore Allah is sufficient as a witness between us and you that we were quite unaware of your serving (us).

اب خدا ہمارے اور تمہارے درمیان گواہی کے لئے کافی ہے کہ ہم تمہاری عبادت سے بالکل غافل تھے۔

There shall every soul become acquainted with what it sent before, and they shall be brought back to Allah, their true Patron, and what they devised shall escape from them.

اس وقت ہر شخص اپنے گزشتہ اعمال کا امتحان کرے گا اور سب مولائے برحق خداوندتعالیٰ کی بارگاہ میں پلٹا دئیے جائیں گے اور جو کچھ افترا کررہے تھے وہ سب بھٹک کر گم ہوجائے گا۔

Say: Who gives you sustenance from the heaven and the earth? Or Who controls the hearing and the sight? And Who brings forth the living from the dead, and brings forth the dead from the living? And Who regulates the affairs? Then they will say: Allah. Say then: Will you not then guard (against evil)?

پیغمبر ذرا ان سے پوچھئے کہ تمہیں زمین و آسمان سے کون رزق دیتا ہے اور کون تمہاری سماعت و بصارت کا مالک ہے اور کون مردہ سے زندہ اور زندہ سے مردہ کو نکالتا ہے اور کون سارے امور کی تدبیرکرتا ہے تو یہ سب یہی کہیں گے کہ اللہ! تو آپ کہئے کہ پھر اس سے کیوں نہیں ڈرتے ہو۔

This then is Allah, your true Lord; and what is there after the truth but error; how are you then turned back?

وہی اللہ تمہارا برحق پالنے والا ہے اور حق کے بعد ضلالت کے سوا کچھ نہیں ہے تو تم کس طرح لے جائے جارہے ہو۔

Thus does the word of your Lord prove true against those who transgress that they do not believe.

اسی طرح خدا کا عذاب فاسقوں کے حق میں ثابت ہوگیا کہ وہ ایمان لانے والے نہیں ہیں۔

Say: Is there anyone among your associates who can bring into existence the creation in the first instance, then reproduce it? Say: Allah brings the creation into existence, then He reproduces it; how are you then turned away?

آپ ذرا پوچھئے کہ کیا تمہارے شریکوں میں کوئی ہے جو خلقت کی ابتدا کرے اور پھر دوبارہ اسے پلٹا سکے اور پھر بتائیے کہ اللہ ہی مخلوقات کی ابتدا کرتا ہے اور وہی انہیں پلٹاتا بھی ہے تو تم آخر کدھر چلے جارہے ہو۔

Say: Is there any of your associates who guides to the truth? Say: Allah guides to the truth. Is He then Who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed, or he who himself does not go aright unless he is guided? What then is the matter with you; how do you judge?

کہئے کہ کیا تمہارے شرکاء میں کوئی ایسا ہے جو حق کی ہدایت کرسکے اور پھر بتائیے کہ اللہ ہی حق کی ہدایت کرتا ہے اور جو حق کی ہدایت کرتا ہے وہ واقعًا قابل اتباع ہے یا جو ہدایت کرنے کے قابل بھی نہیں ہے مگر یہ کہ خود اس کی ہدایت کی جائے تو آخر تمہیں کیاہوگیا ہے اور تم کیسے فیصلے کررہے ہو۔

And most of them do not follow (anything) but conjecture; surely conjecture will not avail aught against the truth; surely Allah is cognizant of what they do.

اور ان کی اکثریت تو صرف خیالات کا اتباع کرتی ہے جب کہ گمان حق کے بارے میں کوئی فائدہ نہیں پہنچاسکتا بےشک اللہ ان کے اعمال سے خوب واقف ہے۔

And this Quran is not such as could be forged by those besides Allah, but it is a verification of that which is before it and a clear explanation of the book, there is no doubt in it, from the Lord of the worlds.

اور یہ قرآن کسی غیر خدا کی طرف سے افترا نہیں ہے بلکہ اپنے ماسبق کی کتابوں کی تصدیق اور تفصیل ہے جس میں کسی شک کی گنجائش نہیں ہے یہ رب العالمین کا نازل کردہ ہے۔

Or do they say: He has forged it? Say: Then bring a chapter like this and invite whom you can besides Allah, if you are truthful.

کیا یہ لوگ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ اسے پیغمبر نے گڑھ لیا ہے تو کہہ دیجئے کہ تم اس کے جیسا ایک ہی سورہ لے آؤ اور خدا کے علاوہ جسے چاہو اپنی مدد کے لئے بلالو اگر تم اپنے الزام میں سچے ہو۔

Nay, they reject that of which they have no comprehensive knowledge, and the final sequel of it has not yet come to them; even thus did those before them reject (the truth); see then what was the end of the unjust.

درحقیقت ان لوگوں نے اس چیز کی تکذیب کی ہے جس کا مکمل علم بھی نہیں ہے اور اس کی تاویل بھی ان کے پاس نہیں آئی ہے اسی طرح ان کے پہلے والوں نے بھی تکذیب کی تھی اب دیکھو کہ ظلم کرنے والوں کا انجام کیا ہوتا ہے۔

And of them is he who believes in it, and of them is he who does not believe in it, and your Lord best knows the mischief-makers.

ان میں بعض وہ ہیں جو اس پر ایمان لاتے ہیں اور بعض نہیں مانتے ہیں اور آپ کا پروردگار فساد کرنے والوں کو خوب جانتا ہے۔

And if they call you a liar, say: My work is for me and your work for you; you are clear of what I do and I am clear of what you do.

اور اگر یہ آپ کی تکذیب کریں تو کہہ دیجئے کہ میرے لئے میرا عمل ہے اور تمہارے لئے تمہارا عمل ہے تم میرے عمل سے بری اور میں تمہارے اعمال سے بیزار ہوں۔

And there are those of them who hear you, but can you make the deaf to hear though they will not understand?

اور ان میں سے بعض ایسے بھی ہیں جو بظاہر کان لگا کر سنتے بھی ہیں لیکن کیا آپ بہروں کو بات سنانا چاہتے ہیں جب کہ وہ سمجھتے بھی نہیں ہیں۔

And there are those of them who look at you, but can you show the way to the blind though they will not see?

اور ان میں کچھ ہیں جو آپ کی طرف دیکھ رہے ہیں تو کیا آپ اندھوں کو بھی ہدایت دے سکتے ہیں چاہے وہ کچھ نہ دیکھ پاتے ہوں۔

Surely Allah does not do any injustice to men, but men are unjust to themselves.

اللہ انسانوں پر ذرّہ برابر ظلم نہیں کرتا ہے بلکہ انسان خود ہی اپنے اوپر ظلم کیا کرتے ہیں۔

And on the day when He will gather them as though they had not stayed but an hour of the day, they will know each other. They will perish indeed who called the meeting with Allah to be a lie, and they are not followers of the right direction.

جس دن خدا ان سب کو محشور کرے گا اس طرح کہ جیسے دنیا میں صرف ایک ساعت ٹھہرے ہوں اور وہ آپس میں ایک دوسرے کو پہچانتے ہوں گے یقینًاجن لوگوں نے خدا کی ملاقات کا انکار کیا ہے وہ خسارہ میں رہے اور ہدایت یافتہ نہیں ہوسکے۔

And if We show you something of what We threaten them with, or cause you to die, yet to Us is their return, and Allah is the bearer of witness to what they do.

اور ہم نے جن باتوں کا ان سے وعدہ کیا ہے انہیں آپ کو دکھادیں یا آپ کو پہلے ہی دنیا سے اٹھالیں انہیں تو بہرحال پلٹ کر ہماری ہی بارگاہ میں آنا ہے اس کے بعد خدا خود ان کے اعمال کا گواہ ہے۔

And every nation had an apostle; so when their apostle came, the matter was decided between them with justice and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.

اور ہر امّت کے لئے ایک رسول ہے اور جب رسول آجاتا ہے تو ان کے درمیان عادلانہ فیصلہ ہوجاتا ہے اور ان پر کسی طرح کا ظلم نہیں ہوتا ہے۔

And they say: When will this threat come about, if you are truthful?

یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ اگر آپ سچے ہیں تو یہ وعدہ عذاب کب پورا ہوگا۔

Say: I do not control for myself any harm, or any benefit except what Allah pleases; every nation has a term; when their term comes, they shall not then remain behind for an hour, nor can they go before (their time).

کہہ دیجئے کہ میں اپنے نفس کے نقصان و نفع کا بھی مالک نہیں ہوں جب تک خدا نہ چاہے۔ ہر قوم کے لئے ایک مدّت معین ہے جس سے ایک ساعت کی بھی نہ تاخیر ہوسکتی ہے اور نہ تقدیم۔

Say: Tell me if His punishment overtakes you by night or by day! what then is there of it that the guilty would hasten on?

کہہ دیجئے کہ تمہارا کیا خیال ہے اگر اس کا عذاب رات کے وقت یا دن میں آجائے تو تم کیا کرو گے آخر یہ مجرمین کس بات کی جلدی کررہے ہیں۔

And when it comes to pass, will you believe in it? What! now (you believe), and already you wished to have it hastened on.

تو کیا تم عذاب کے نازل ہونے کے بعد ایمان لاؤ گے، اور کیا اب ایمان لاؤ گے جب کہ تم عذاب کی جلدی مچائے ہوئے تھے۔

Then it shall be said to those who were unjust: Taste abiding chastisement; you are not requited except for what you earned.

اس کے بعد ظالمین سے کہا جائے گا کہ اب ہمیشگی کے عذاب کا مزہ چکھو۔ کیا تمہارے اعمال کے علاوہ کسی اور چیز کا بدلہ دیا جائے گا۔

And they ask you: Is that true? Say: Aye! by my Lord! it is most surely the truth, and you will not escape.

یہ آپ سے دریافت کرتے ہیں کیا یہ عذاب برحق ہے تو فرما دیجئے کہ ہاں بےشک برحق ہے اور تم خدا کو عاجز نہیں بناسکتے۔

And if every soul that has done injustice had all that is in the earth, it would offer it for ransom, and they will manifest regret when they see the chastisement and the matter shall be decided between them with justice and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.

اگر ہر ظلم کرنے والے نفس کو ساری زمین کے خزینے مل جائیں تو وہ اس دن کے عذاب کے بدلے دے دیگا اور عذاب کے دیکھنے کے بعد اندر اندر نادم بھی ہوگا، لیکن ان کے درمیان انصاف کے ساتھ فیصلہ کردیا جائے گا اور ان پر کسی طرح کا ظلم نہ کیا جائے گا۔

Now surely Allah’s is what is in the heavens and the earth; now surely Allah’s promise is true, but most of them do not know.

یاد رکھو کہ خدا ہی کے لئے زمین و آسمان کے کل خزانے ہیں اور آگاہ ہوجاؤ کہ خدا کا وعدہ برحق ہے اگرچہ لوگوں کی اکثریت نہیں سمجھتی ہے۔

He gives life and causes death, and to Him you shall be brought back.

وہی خدا حیات و موت کا دینے والا ہے اور اسی کی طرف تم سب کو پلٹا کر لے جایا جائے گا۔

O men! there has come to you indeed an admonition from your Lord and a healing for what is in the breasts and a guidance and a mercy for the believers.

ایہاالناس! تمہارے پاس پروردگار کی طرف سے نصیحت اور دلوں کی شفا کا سامان اور ہدایت اور صاحبانِ ایمان کے لئے رحمت قرآن آچکا ہے۔

Say: In the grace of Allah and in His mercy- in that they should rejoice; it is better than that which they gather.

پیغمبر کہہ دیجئے کہ یہ قرآن فضل و رحمتِ خدا کا نتیجہ ہے لہٰذا انہیں اس پر خوش ہونا چاہئے کہ یہ ان کے جمع کئے ہوئے اموال سے کہیں زیادہ بہتر ہے۔

Say: Tell me what Allah has sent down for you of sustenance, then you make (a part) of it unlawful and (a part) lawful. Say: Has Allah commanded you, or do you forge a lie against Allah?

آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ خدانے تمہارے لئے رزق نازل کیا تو تم نے اس میں بھی حلال و حرام بنانا شروع کردیا تو کیا خدا نے تمہیں اس کی اجازت دی ہے یا تم خدا پر افترا کررہے ہو۔

And what will be the thought of those who forge lies against Allah on the day of resurrection? Most surely Allah is the Lord of grace towards men, but most of them do not give thanks.

اور جو لوگ خدا پر جھوٹا الزام لگاتے ہیں ان کا روزِ قیامت کے بارے میں کیا خیال ہے۔ اللہ انسانوں پر فضل کرنے والا ہے لیکن ان کی اکثریت شکر کرنے والی نہیں ہے۔

And you are not (engaged) in any affair, nor do you recite concerning it any portion of the Quran, nor do you do any work but We are witnesses over you when you enter into it, and there does not lie concealed from your Lord the weight of an atom in the earth or in the heaven, nor anything less than that nor greater, but it is in a clear book.

اور پیغمبر آپ کسی حال میں رہیں اور قرآن کے کسی حصّہ کی تلاوت کریں اور اے لوگوں تم کوئی عمل کرو ہم تم سب کے گواہ ہوتے ہیں جب بھی کوئی عمل کرتے ہو اور تمہارے پروردگار سے زمین و آسمان کا کوئی ذرّہ دور نہیں ہے اور کوئی شے ذرّہ سے بڑی یا چھوٹی ایسی نہیں ہے جسے ہم نے اپنی کھلی کتاب میں جمع نہ کردیا ہو۔

Now surely the friends of Allah- they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve.

آگاہ ہوجاؤ کہ اولیاء خدا پر نہ خوف طاری ہوتا ہے اور نہ وہ محزون اور رنجیدہ ہوتے ہیں۔

Those who believe and guarded (against evil):

یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جو ایمان لائے اور خدا سے ڈرتے رہے۔

They shall have good news in this world’s life and in the hereafter; there is no changing the words of Allah; that is the mighty achievement.

ان کے لئے زندگانی دنیا اور آخرت دونوں مقامات پر بشارت اور خوش خبری ہے اور کلماتِ خدا میں کوئی تبدیلی نہیں ہوسکتی ہے اور یہی درحقیقت عظیم کامیابی ہے۔

And let not their speech grieve you; surely might is wholly Allah’s; He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

پیغمبر آپ ان لوگوں کی باتوں سے رنجیدہ نہ ہوں، عزّت سب کی سب صرف اللہ کے لئے ہے، وہی سب کچھ سننے والا ہے اور جاننے والا ہے۔

Now, surely, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is Allah’s; and they do not (really) follow any associates, who call on others besides Allah; they do not follow (anything) but conjectures, and they only lie.

آگاہ ہوجاؤ کہ اللہ ہی کے لئے زمین و آسمان کی ساری مخلوقات اور کائنات ہے اور جو لوگ خدا کو چھوڑ کر دوسرے شریکوں کو پکارتے ہیں وہ ان کا بھی اتباع نہیں کرتے۔ یہ صرف اپنے خیالات کا اتباع کرتے ہیں اور یہ صرف اندازوں پر زندگی گزار رہے ہیں۔

He it is Who made for you the night that you might rest in it, and the day giving light; most surely there are signs in it for a people who would hear.

وہ خدا وہ ہے جس نے تمہارے لئے رات بنائی ہے تاکہ اس میں سکون حاصل کرسکو اور دن کو روشنی کا ذریعہ بنایا ہے اور اس میں بھی بات سننے والی قوم کے لئے نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں۔

They say: Allah has taken a son (to Himself)! Glory be to Him: He is the Self-sufficient: His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; you have no authority for this; do you say against Allah what you do not know?

یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ اللہ نے اپنا کوئی بیٹا بنایا ہے حالانکہ وہ پاک و بے نیاز ہے اور اس کے لئے زمین و آسمان کی ساری کائنات ہے۔ تمہارے پاس تو تمہاری بات کی کوئی دلیل بھی نہیں ہے،کیا تم لوگ خدا پر وہ الزام لگاتے ہو جس کا تمہیں علم بھی نہیں ہے۔

Say: Those who forge a lie against Allah shall not be successful.

پیغمبر آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ جو لوگ خدا پر جھوٹا الزام لگاتے ہیں وہ کبھی کامیاب نہیں ہوسکتے۔

(It is only) a provision in this world, then to Us shall be their return; then We shall make them taste severe punishment because they disbelieved.

اس دنیا میں تھوڑا سا آرام ہے اس کے بعد سب کی بازگشت ہماری ہی طرف ہے، اس کے بعد ہم ان کے کفر کی بنا پر انہیں شدید عذاب کا مزہ چکھائیں گے۔

And recite to them the story of Nuh when he said to his people: O my people! if my stay and my reminding (you) by the communications of Allah is hard on you- yet on Allah do I rely- then resolve upon your affair and (gather) your associates, then let not your affair remain dubious to you, then have it executed against me and give me no respite:

آپ ان کفار کے سامنے نوحؑ کا واقعہ بیان کریں کہ انہوں نے اپنی قوم سے کہا کہ اگر تمہارے لئے میرا قیام اور آیاتِ الہٰیہ کا یاد دلانا سخت ہے تو میرا اعتماد اللہ پر ہے، تم بھی اپناارادہ پختہ کرلو اور اپنے شریکوں کو بلالو اور تمہاری کوئی بات تمہارے اوپر مخفی بھی نہ رہے، پھر جو جی چاہے کر گزرو اور مجھے کسی طرح کی مہلت نہ دو۔

But if you turn back, I did not ask for any reward from you; my reward is only with Allah, and I am commanded that I should be of those who submit.

پھر اگر تم انحراف کرو گے تو میں تم سے کوئی اجر بھی نہیں چاہتا، میرا اجر تو صرف اللہ کے ذمہ ہے اور مجھے حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ میں اس کے اطاعت گزاروں میں شامل رہوں۔

But they rejected him, so We delivered him and those with him in the ark, and We made them rulers and drowned those who rejected Our communications; see then what was the end of the (people) warned.

پھر قوم نے ان کی تکذیب کی تو ہم نے نوحؑ اور ان کے ساتھیوں کو کشتی میں نجات دے دی اور انہیں زمین کا وارث بنادیا اور اپنی آیات کی تکذیب کرنے والوں کو ڈبو دیا تو اب دیکھئے کہ جن کو ڈرایا جاتا ہے ان کے نہ ماننے کا انجام کیا ہوتا ہے۔

Then did We raise up after him apostles to their people, so they came to them with clear arguments, but they would not believe in what they had rejected before; thus it is that We set seals upon the hearts of those who exceed the limits.

اس کے بعد ہم نے مختلف رسول ان کی قوموں کی طرف بھیجے اور وہ ان کے پاس کھلی ہوئی نشانیاں لے کر آئے لیکن وہ لوگ پہلے کے انکار کرنے کی بنا پر ان کی تصدیق نہ کرسکے اور ہم اسی طرح ظالموں کے دل پر مہر لگادیتے ہیں۔

Then did We send up after them Musa and Haroun to Firon and his chiefs with Our signs, but they showed pride and they were a guilty people.

پھر ہم نے ان رسولوں کے بعد فرعون اور اس کی جماعت کی طرف موسٰیؑ اور ہارونؑ کو اپنی نشانیاں دے کر بھیجا تو ان لوگوں نے بھی انکار کردیا اور وہ سب بھی مجرم لوگ تھے۔

So when the truth came to them from Us they said: This is most surely clear enchantment!

پھر جب موسٰیؑ ان کے پاس ہماری طرف سے حق لے کر آئے تو انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ توکھلا ہوا جادو ہے۔

Musa said: Do you say (this) of the truth when it has come to you? Is it magic? And the magicians are not successful.

موسٰی نے جواب دیا کہ تم لوگ حق کے آنے کے بعد اسے جادو کہہ رہے ہو کیا یہ تمہارے نزدیک جادو ہے جب کہ جادوگر کبھی کامیاب نہیں ہوتے۔

They said: Have you come to us to turn us away from what we found our fathers upon, and (that) greatness in the land should be for you two? And we are not going to believe in you.

ان لوگوں نے کہا تم یہ پیغام اس لئے لائے ہو کہ ہمیں باپ دادا کے راستہ سے منحرف کردو اور تم دونوں کو زمین میں حکومت و اقتدار مل جائے اور ہم ہرگز تمہاری بات ماننے والے نہیں ہیں۔

And Firon said: Bring to me every skillful magician.

اور فرعون نے کہا کہ تمام ہوشیار ماہر جادوگروں کو میرے پاس حاضر کرو۔

And when the magicians came, Musa said to them: Cast down what you have to cast.

پھر جب جادوگر آگئے تو موسٰیؑ نے ان سے کہا جو جو کچھ پھینکنا چاہتے ہو پھینکو۔

So when they cast down, Musa said to them: What you have brought is deception; surely Allah will make it naught; surely Allah does not make the work of mischief-makers to thrive.

پھر جب ان لوگوں نے رسیوں کو ڈال دیا تو موسٰی نے کہا کہ جو کچھ تم لے آئے ہو یہ جادو ہے اور اللہ اس کو بیکار کردے گا وہ مفسدین کے عمل کو درست نہیں ہونے دیتا ہے۔

And Allah will show the truth to be the truth by His words, though the guilty may be averse (to it).

اپنے کلمات کے ذریعہ حق کو ثابت کردیتا ہے چاہے مجرمین کو کتنا ہی برا کیوں نہ لگے۔

But none believed in Musa except the offspring of his people, on account of the fear of Firon and their chiefs, lest he should persecute them; and most surely Firon was lofty in the land; and most surely he was of the extravagant.

پھر بھی موسٰی پر ایمان نہ لائے مگر ان کی قوم کی ایک نسل اور وہ بھی فرعون اور اس کی جماعت کے خوف کے ساتھ کہ کہیں وہ کسی آزمائش میں نہ مبتلا کردے کہ فرعون بہت اونچا ہے اور وہ اسراف اور زیادتی کرنے والا بھی ہے۔

And Musa said: O my people! if you believe in Allah, then rely on Him (alone) if you submit (to Allah).

اور موسٰیؑ نے اپنی قوم سے کہا کہ اگر تم واقعًا اللہ پر ایمان لائے ہو تو اسی پر بھروسہ کرو اگر واقعًا اس کے اطاعت گزار بندے ہو۔

So they said: On Allah we rely: O our Lord! make us not subject to the persecution of the unjust people:

تو ان لوگوں نے کہا کہ بےشک ہم نے خدا پر بھروسہ کیا ہے، خدایا ہمیں ظالموں کے فتنوں اور آزمائشوں کا مرکز نہ قرار دینا۔

And do Thou deliver us by Thy mercy from the unbelieving people.

اور اپنی رحمت کے ذریعہ کافر قوم کے شر سے محفوظ رکھنا۔

And We revealed to Musa and his brother, saying: Take for your people houses to abide in Egypt and make your houses places of worship and keep up prayer and give good news to the believers.

اور ہم نے موسٰیؑ اور ان کے بھائی کی طرف وحی کی کہ اپنی قوم کے لئے مصر میں گھر بناؤ اور اپنے گھروں کو قبلہ قرار دو اور نماز قائم کرو اور مومنین کو بشارت دے دو۔

And Musa said: Our Lord! surely Thou hast given to Firon and his chiefs finery and riches in this world’s life, to this end, our Lord, that they lead (people) astray from Thy way: Our Lord! destroy their riches and harden their hearts so that they believe not until they see the painful punishment.

اور موسٰیؑ نے کہا کہ پروردگار تو نے فرعون اور اس کے ساتھیوں کو زندگانی دنیامیں اموال عطا کئے ہیں۔ خدایا یہ تیرے راستے سے بہکائیں گے۔ خدایا ان کے اموال کو برباد کردے، ان کے دلوں پر سختی نازل فرما یہ اس وقت تک ایمان نہ لائیں گے جب تک اپنی آنکھوں سے دردناک عذاب نہ دیکھ لیں۔

He said: The prayer of you both has indeed been accepted, therefore continue in the right way and do not follow the path of those who do not know.

پروردگار نے فرمایا کہ تم دونوں کی دعا قبول کرلی گئی تو اب اپنے راستے پر قائم رہنا اور جاہلوں کے راستے کا اتباع نہ کرنا۔

And We made the children of Israel to pass through the sea, then Firon and his hosts followed them for oppression and tyranny; until when drowning overtook him, he said: I believe that there is no god but He in Whom the children of Israel believe and I am of those who submit.

اور ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو دریا پار کرادیا تو فرعون اور اس کے لشکر نے ازراہِ ظلم و تعدی ان کا پیچھا کیا یہاں تک کہ جب غرقابی نے اسے پکڑلیا تو اس نے آواز دی کہ میں اس خدائے وحدہ لاشریک پر ایمان لے آیا ہوں جس پر بنی اسرائیل ایمان لائے ہیں اور میں اطاعت گزاروں میں ہوں۔

What! now! and indeed you disobeyed before and you were of the mischief-makers.

تو آواز آئی، کہ اب جب کہ تو پہلے نافرمانی کرچکا ہے اور تیرا شمار مفسدوں میں ہوچکا ہے۔

But We will this day deliver you with your body that you may be a sign to those after you, and most surely the majority of the people are heedless to Our communications.

خیر، آج ہم تیرے بدن کو بچالیتے ہیں تاکہ تو اپنے بعد والوں کے لئے نشانی بن جائے اگرچہ بہت سے لوگ ہماری نشانیوں سے غافل ہی رہتے ہیں۔

And certainly We lodged the children of Israel in a goodly abode and We provided them with good things; but they did not disagree until the knowledge had come to them; surely your Lord will judge between them on the resurrection day concerning that in which they disagreed.

اور ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو بہترین منزل عطا کی ہے اور انہیں پاکیزہ رزق عطا کیا ہے تو ان لوگوں نے آپس میں اختلاف نہیں کیا یہاں تک کہ ان کے پاس توریت آگئی تو اب خدا ان کے درمیان روزِ قیامت ان کے اختلافات کا فیصلہ کردے گا۔

But if you are in doubt as to what We have revealed to you, ask those who read the Book before you; certainly the truth has come to you from your Lord, therefore you should not be of the disputers.

اب اگر تم کو اس میں شک ہے جو ہم نے نازل کیا ہے تو ان لوگوں سے پوچھو جو اس کے پہلے کتاب توریت و انجیل پڑھتے رہے ہیں یقینًا تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے حق آچکا ہے تو اب تم شک کرنے والوں میں شامل نہ ہو۔

And you should not be of those who reject the communications of Allah, (for) then you should be one of the losers.

اور ان لوگوں میں نہ ہو جاؤ جنہوں نے آیاتِ الہٰیہ کی تکذیب کی ہے کہ اس طرح خسارہ والوں میں شمار ہوجاؤ گے۔

Surely those against whom the word of your Lord has proved true will not believe

بےشک جن لوگوں پر کلمئہ عذابِ الٰہی ثابت ہوچکا ہے وہ ہرگز ایمان لانے والے نہیں ہیں۔

Though every sign should come to them, until they witness the painful chastisement.

چاہے ان کے پاس تمام نشانیاں کیوں نہ آجائیں جب تک اپنی آنکھوں سے دردناک عذاب نہ دیکھ لیں گے۔

And wherefore was there not a town which should believe so that their belief should have profited them but the people of Yunus? When they believed, We removed from them the chastisement of disgrace in this world’s life and We gave them provision till a time.

پس کوئی بستی ایسی کیوں نہیں ہے جو ایمان لے آئے اور اس کا ایمان اسے فائدہ پہنچائے علاوہ قومِ یونس کے کہ جب وہ ایمان لے آئے تو ہم نے ان سے زندگانی دنیا میں رسوائی کا عذاب دفع کردیا اور انہیں ایک مدّت تک چین سے رہنے دیا۔

And if your Lord had pleased, surely all those who are in the earth would have believed, all of them; will you then force men till they become believers?

اور اگر خدا چاہتا تو روئے زمین پر رہنے والے سب ایمان لے آتے۔ تو کیا آپ لوگوں پر جبر کریں گے کہ سب مومن بن جائیں۔

And it is not for a soul to believe except by Allah’s permission; and He casts uncleanness on those who will not understand.

اور کسی نفس کے امکان میں نہیں ہے کہ بغیر اجازت و توفیقِ پروردگار کے ایمان لے آئے اور وہ ان لوگوں پر خباثت کو لازم قرار دے دیتا ہے جو عقل استعمال نہیں کرتے ہیں۔

Say: Consider what is it that is in the heavens and the earth; and signs and warners do not avail a people who would not believe.

پیغمبر کہہ دیجئے کہ ذرا آسمان و زمین میں غور و فکر کرو، اور یاد رکھئے کہ جو ایمان لانے والے نہیں ہیں ان کے حق میں نشانیاں اور ڈراوے کچھ کام آنے والے نہیں ہیں۔

What do they wait for then but the like of the days of those who passed away before them? Say: Wait then; surely I too am with you of those who wait.

اب کیا یہ لوگ ان ہی بُرے دنوں کا انتظار کررہے ہیں جو ان سے پہلے والوں پر گزر چکے ہیں تو کہہ دیجئے کہ پھر انتظار کرو میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ انتظار کرنے والوں میں ہوں۔

Then We deliver Our apostles and those who believe- even so (now), it is binding on Us (that) We deliver the believers.

اس کے بعد ہم اپنے رسولوں اور ایمان والوں کو نجات دیتے ہیں اور یہ ہمارے اوپر ایک حق ہے کہ ہم صاحبانِ ایمان کو نجات دلائیں۔

Say: O people! if you are in doubt as to my religion, then (know that) I do not serve those whom you serve besides Allah, but I do serve Allah, Who will cause you to die, and I am commanded that I should be of the believers.

پیغمبر آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ اگر تم لوگوں کو میرے دین میں شک ہے تو میں ان کی پرستش نہیں کرسکتا جنہیں تم لوگ خدا کو چھوڑ کر پوج رہے ہو۔ میں تو صرف اس خدا کی عبادت کرتا ہوں جو تم سب کو موت دینے والا ہے اور مجھے حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ میں صاحبانِ ایمان میں شامل رہوں۔

And that you should keep your course towards the religion uprightly; and you should not be of the polytheists.

اور آپ اپنا رخ بالکل دین کی طرف رکھیں، باطل سے الگ رہیں اور ہرگز مشرکین کی جماعت میں شمار نہ ہوں۔

And do not call besides Allah on that which can neither benefit you nor harm you, for if you do then surely you will in that case be of the unjust.

اور خدا کے علاوہ کسی ایسے کو آواز نہ دیں جو نہ فائدہ پہنچا سکتا ہے اور نہ نقصان ورنہ ایسا کریں گے تو آپ کا شمار بھی ظالمین میں ہوجائے گا۔

And if Allah should afflict you with harm, then there is none to remove it but He; and if He intends good to you there is none to repel His grace; He brings it to whom He pleases of His servants; and He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

اور اگر خدا نقصان پہنچانا چاہے تو اس کے علاوہ کوئی بچانے والا نہیں ہے اور اگر وہ بھلائی کا ارادہ کرلے تو اس کے فضل کا کوئی روکنے والا نہیں ہے وہ جس کو چاہتا ہے اپنے بندوں میں بھلائی عطا کرتا ہے وہ بڑا بخشنے والا اور مہربان ہے۔

Say: O people! indeed there has come to you the truth from your Lord, therefore whoever goes aright, he goes aright only for the good of his own soul, and whoever goes astray, he goes astray only to the detriment of it, and I am not a custodian over you.

پیغمبر آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ تمہارے پاس پروردگار کی طرف سے حق آچکا ہے اب جو ہدایت حاصل کرے گا وہ اپنے فائدہ کے لئے کرے گا اور جو گمراہ ہوجائے گا اس کا نقصان بھی اسی کو ہوگا اور میں تمہارا ذمہ دار نہیں ہوں۔

And follow what is revealed to you and be patient till Allah should give judgment, and He is the best of the judges.

اور آپ صرف اس بات کا اتباع کریں جس کی آپ کی طرف وحی کی جاتی ہے اور صبر کرتے رہیں یہاں تک کہ خدا کوئی فیصلہ کردے اور وہ بہترین فیصلہ کرنے والا ہے۔

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
