Surah Raad (13, 43 ayat)سورۂ رعد

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Alif Lam Mim Ra. These are the verses of the Book; and that which is revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, but most people do not believe.

المر۔ یہ کتابِ خدا کی آیتیں ہیں اور جو کچھ بھی آپ کے پروردگار کی طرف سے نازل کیا گیا ہے وہ سب برحق ہے لیکن لوگوں کی اکثریت ایمان لانے والی نہیں ہے۔

Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that you see, and He is firm in power and He made the sun and the moon subservient (to you); each one pursues its course to an appointed time; He regulates the affair, making clear the signs that you may be certain of meeting your Lord.

اللہ ہی وہ ہے جس نے آسمانوں کو بغیر کسی ستون کے بلند کردیا ہے جیسا کہ تم دیکھ رہے ہو اس کے بعد اس نے عرش پر اقتدار قائم کیا اور آفتاب و ماہتاب کو مُسخّر بنایا کہ سب ایک معینہ مدّت تک چلتے رہیں گے وہی تمام امور کی تدبیر کرنے والا ہے اور اپنی آیات کو مفصل طور سے بیان کرتا ہے کہ شاید تم لوگ پروردگار کی ملاقات کا یقین پیدا کرلو۔

And He it is Who spread the earth and made in it firm mountains and rivers, and of all fruits He has made in it two kinds; He makes the night cover the day; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect.

وہ خدا وہ ہے جس نے زمین کو پھیلایا اور اس میں ا ٹل قسم کے پہاڑ قرار دئیے اور نہریں جاری کیں اور ہر پھل کا جوڑا قرار دیا وہ رات کے پردے سے دن کو ڈھانک دیتا ہے اور اس میں صاحبانِ فکر و نظر کے لئے بڑ ی نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں۔

And in the earth there are tracts side by side and gardens of grapes and corn and palm trees having one root and (others) having distinct roots- they are watered with one water, and We make some of them excel others in fruit; most surely there are signs in this for a people who understand.

اور زمین کے متعدد ٹکڑے آپس میں ایک دوسرے سے ملے ہوئے ہیں اور انگور کے باغات ہیں اور زرا عت ہے اور کھجوریں ہیں جن میں بعض دو شاخ کی ہیں اور بعض ایک شاخ کی ہیں اور سب ایک ہی پانی سے سینچے جاتے ہیں اور ہم بعض کو بعض پر کھانے میں ترجیح دیتے ہیں اور اس میں بھی صاحبانِ عقل کے لئے بڑی نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں۔

And if you would wonder, then wondrous is their saying: What! when we are dust, shall we then certainly be in a new creation? These are they who disbelieve in their Lord, and these have chains on their necks, and they are the inmates of the fire; in it they shall abide.

اور اگر تمہیں کسی بات پر تعجّب ہے تو تعجّب کی بات ان لوگوں کا یہ قول ہے کہ کیا ہم خاک ہوجانے کے بعد بھی نئے سرے سے دوبارہ پیدا کئے جائیں گے، یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے اپنے پروردگار کا انکار کیا ہے اور ان ہی کی گردنوں میں طوق ڈالے جائیں گے اور یہی اہلِ جہّنم ہیں اور اسی میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں۔

And they ask you to hasten on the evil before the good, and indeed there have been exemplary punishments before them; and most surely your Lord is the Lord of forgiveness to people, notwithstanding their injustice; and most surely your Lord is severe in requiting (evil).

اور اے رسول یہ لوگ آپ سے بھلائی سے پہلے ہی برائی (عذاب) چاہتے ہیں جب کہ ان کے پہلے بہت سی عذاب کی نظریں گزر چکی ہیں اور آپ کا پروردگار لوگوں کے لئے ان کے ظلم پر بخشنے والا بھی ہے اور بہت سخت عذاب کرنے والا بھی ہے۔

And those who disbelieve say: Why has not a sign been sent down upon him from his Lord? You are only a warner and (there is) a guide for every people.

اور یہ کافر کہتے ہیں کہ ان کے اوپر کوئی نشانی (ہماری مطلوبہ) کیوں نہیں نازل ہوتی تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ میں صرف ڈرانے والا ہوں اور ہر قوم کے لئے ایک ہادی اور رہبر ہے۔

Allah knows what every female bears, and that of which the wombs fall short of completion and that in which they increase; and there is a measure with Him of everything.

اللہ بہتر جانتا ہے کہ ہر عورت کے شکم میں کیا ہے اور اس کے رحم میں کیا کمی اور زیادتی ہوتی رہتی ہے اور ہر شے کی اس کے نزدیک ایک مقدار معین ہے۔

The knower of the unseen and the seen, the Great, the Most High.

وہ غائب و حاضر سب کا جاننے والا بزرگ و بالاتر ہے۔

Alike (to Him) among you is he who conceals (his) words and he who speaks them openly, and he who hides himself by night and (who) goes forth by day.

اس کے نزدیک تم میں کے سب برابر ہیں جو بات آہستہ کہے اور جو بلند آواز سے کہے اور جو رات میں چھپارہے اور دن میں چلتا رہے۔

For his sake there are angels following one another, before him and behind him, who guard him by Allah’s commandment; surely Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change their own condition; and when Allah intends evil to a people, there is no averting it, and besides Him they have no protector.

اس کے لئے سامنے اور پیچھے سے محافظ طاقتیں ہیں جو حکمِ خدا سے اس کی حفاظت کرتی ہیں اور خدا کسی قوم کے حالات کو اس وقت تک نہیں بدلتا جب تک وہ خود اپنے کو تبدیل نہ کرلے اور جب خدا کسی قوم پر عذاب کا ارادہ کرلیتا ہے تو کوئی ٹال نہیں سکتا ہے اور نہ اس کے علاوہ کوئی کسی کا والی و سرپرست ہے۔

He it is Who shows you the lightning causing fear and hope and (Who) brings up the heavy cloud.

وہی خدا ہے جو تمہیں ڈرانے اور لالچ دلانے کے لئے بجلیاں دکھاتا ہے اور پانی سے لدے ہوئے بوجھل بادل ایجاد کرتا ہے۔

And the thunder declares His glory with His praise, and the angels too for awe of Him; and He sends the thunderbolts and smites with them whom He pleases, yet they dispute concerning Allah, and He is mighty in prowess.

گرج اس کی حمد کی تسبیح کرتی ہے اور فرشتے اس کے خوف سے حمد و ثنا کرتے رہتے ہیں اور بجلیوں کو بھیجتا ہے تو جس تک چاہتا ہے پہنچا دیتا ہے اور یہ لوگ اللہ کے بارے میں کج بحثی کررہے ہیں جب کہ وہ بہت مضبوط قوت اور عظیم طاقت والا ہے۔

To Him is due the true prayer; and those whom they pray to besides Allah give them no answer, but (they are) like one who stretches forth his two hands towards water that it may reach his mouth, but it will not reach it; and the prayer of the unbelievers is only in error.

برحق پکارنا صرف خدا ہی کا پکارنا ہے اور جو لوگ اس کے علاوہ دوسروں کو پکارتے ہیں وہ ان کی کوئی بات قبول نہیں کرسکتے سوائے اس شخص کے مانند جو پانی کی طرف ہتھیلی پھیلائے ہو کہ منہ تک پہنچ جائے اور وہ پہنچنے والا نہیں ہے اور کافروں کی دعا ہمیشہ گمراہی میں رہتی ہے۔

And whoever is in the heavens and the earth makes obeisance to Allah only, willingly and unwillingly, and their shadows too at morn and eve.

اللہ ہی کے لئے زمین و آسمان والے ہنسی خوشی یا زبردستی سجدہ کررہے ہیں اور صبح و شام ان کے سائے بھی سجدہ کناں ہیں۔

Say: Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth?- Say: Allah. Say: Do you take then besides Him guardians who do not control any profit or harm for themselves? Say: Are the blind and the seeing alike? Or can the darkness and the light be equal? Or have they set up with Allah associates who have created creation like His, so that what is created became confused to them? Say: Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Supreme.

پیغمبر کہہ دیجئے کہ بتاؤ کہ زمین و آسمان کا پروردگار کون ہے اور بتادیجئے کہ اللہ ہی ہے اور کہہ دیجئے کہ تم لوگوں نے اس کو چھوڑ کر ایسے سرپرست اختیار کئے ہیں جو خود اپنے نفع و نقصان کے مالک نہیں ہیں اور کہئے کہ کیا اندھے اور بینا ایک جیسے ہوسکتے ہیں یا نورو ظلمت برابر ہوسکتے ہیں یا ان لوگوں نے اللہ کے لئے ایسے شریک بنائے ہیں جنہوں نے اسی کی طرح کی کائنات خلق کی ہے اور ان پر خلقت مشتبہ ہوگئی ہے، کہہ دیجئے کہ اللہ ہی ہر شے کا خالق ہے اور وہی یکتا اور سب پر غالب ہے۔

He sends down water from the cloud, then watercourses flow (with water) according to their measure, and the torrent bears along the swelling foam, and from what they melt in the fire for the sake of making ornaments or apparatus arises a scum like it; thus does Allah compare truth and falsehood; then as for the scum, it passes away as a worthless thing; and as for that which profits the people, it tarries in the earth; thus does Allah set forth parables.

اس نے آسمان سے پانی برسایا تو وادیوں میں بقدر ظرف بہنے لگا اور سیلاب میں جوش کھا کر جھاگ آگیا اور اس دھات سے بھی جھاگ پیدا ہوگیا جسے آگ پر زیور یا کوئی دوسرا سامان بنانے کے لئے پگھلاتے ہیں، اسی طرح پروردگار حق و باطل کی مثال بیان کرتا ہے کہ جھاگ خشک ہوکر فنا ہوجاتا ہے اور جو لوگوں کو فائدہ پہنچانے والا ہے وہ زمین میں باقی رہ جاتا ہے اور خدا اسی طرح مثالیں بیان کرتا ہے۔

For those who respond to their Lord is good; and (as for) those who do not respond to Him, had they all that is in the earth and the like thereof with it they would certainly offer it for a ransom. (As for) those, an evil reckoning shall be theirs and their abode is hell, and evil is the resting-place.

جو لوگ پروردگار کی بات کو قبول کرلیتے ہیں ان کے لئے نیکی ہے اور جو اس کی بات کو قبول نہیں کرتے انہیں زمین کے سارے خزانے بھی مل جائیں اور اسی قدر اور بھی مل جائے تو یہ بطور فدیہ دے دیں گے لیکن ان کے لئے بدترین حساب ہے اور ان کا ٹھکانا جہنّم ہے اور وہ بہت برا ٹھکانا ہے۔

Is he then who knows that what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth like him who is blind? Only those possessed of understanding will mind

کیا وہ شخص جو یہ جانتا ہے کہ جو کچھ آپ کے پروردگار کی طرف سے نازل ہوا سب برحق ہے وہ اس کے جیسا ہوسکتا ہے جو بالکل اندھا ہے (ہرگز نہیں) اس بات کو صرف صاحبانِ عقل ہی سمجھ سکتے ہیں۔

Those who fulfil the promise of Allah and do not break the covenant

جو عہد خدا کو پورا کرتے ہیں اور عہد شکنی نہیں کرتے ہیں۔

And those who join that which Allah has bidden to be joined and have awe of their Lord and fear the evil reckoning.

اور جو ان تعلقات کو قائم رکھتے ہیں جنہیں خدا نے قائم رکھنے کا حکم دیا ہے اور اس سے ڈرتے رہتے ہیں اور بدترین حساب سے خوف زدہ رہتے ہیں۔

And those who are constant, seeking the pleasure of their Lord, and keep up prayer and spend (benevolently) out of what We have given them secretly and openly and repel evil with good; as for those, they shall have the (happy) issue of the abode.

اور جنہوں نے مرضیِ خدا حاصل کرنے کے لئے صبر کیا ہے اور نماز قائم کی ہے اور ہمارے رزق میں سے خفیہ و علانیہ انفاق کیا ہے اور جو نیکی کے ذریعہ برائی کو دفع کرتے رہتے ہیں آخرت کا گھر ان ہی کے لئے ہے۔

The gardens of perpetual abode which they will enter along with those who do good from among their parents and their spouses and their offspring; and the angels will enter in upon them from every gate:

یہ ہمیشہ رہنے والے باغات ہیں جن میں یہ خود اور ان کے آباء و اجداد اور ازواج و اولاد میں سے سارے نیک بندے داخل ہوں گے اور ملائکہ ان کے پاس ہر دروازے سے حاضری دیں گے۔

Peace be on you because you were constant, how excellent, is then, the issue of the abode.

کہیں گے کہ تم پر سلامتی ہو کہ تم نے صبر کیا ہے اور اب آخرت کا گھر تمہاری بہترین منزل ہے۔

And those who break the covenant of Allah after its confirmation and cut asunder that which Allah has ordered to be joined and make mischief in the land; (as for) those, upon them shall be curse and they shall have the evil (issue) of the abode.

اور جو لوگ عہدِ خدا کو توڑ دیتے ہیں اور جن سے تعلقات کا حکم دیا گیا ہے اان سے قطع تعلقات کرلیتے ہیں اور زمین میں فساد برپا کرتے ہیں ان کے لئے لعنت اور بدترین گھر ہے۔

Allah amplifies and straitens the means of subsistence for whom He pleases; and they rejoice in this world’s life, and this world’s life is nothing compared with the hereafter but a temporary enjoyment.

اللہ جس کے لئے چاہتا ہے رزق کو وسیع یا تنگ کردیتا ہے اور یہ لوگ صرف زندگانی دنیا پر خوش ہوگئے ہیں حالانکہ آخرت کے مقابلہ میں زندگانی دنیا صرف ایک وقتی لذّت کا درجہ رکھتی ہے اور بس۔

And those who disbelieve say: Why is not a sign sent down upon him by his Lord? Say: Surely Allah makes him who will go astray, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).

اور یہ کافر کہتے ہیں کہ ان کے اوپر ہماری پسند کی نشانی کیوں نہیں نازل ہوتی تو پیغمبر کہہ دیجئے کہ اللہ جس کو چاہتا ہے گمراہی میں چھوڑ دیتا ہے اور جو اس کی طرف متوجہ ہوجاتے ہیں انہیں ہدایت دے دیتا ہے۔

Those who believe and whose hearts are set at rest by the remembrance of Allah; now surely by Allah’s remembrance are the hearts set at rest.

یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جو ایمان لائے ہیں اور ان کے دلوں کو یادِ خدا سے اطمینان حاصل ہوتا ہے اور آگاہ ہوجاؤ کہ اطمینان یادِ خدا سے ہی حاصل ہوتا ہے۔

(As for) those who believe and do good, a good final state shall be theirs and a goodly return.

جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے نیک اعمال کئے ان کے لئے بہترین جگہ (بہشت) اور بہترین بازگشت ہے۔

And thus We have sent you among a nation before which other nations have passed away, that you might recite to them what We have revealed to you and (still) they deny the Beneficent God. Say: He is my Lord, there is no god but He; on Him do I rely and to Him is my return.

اسی طرح ہم نے آپ کو ایک ایسی قوم کے درمیان بھیجا ہے جس سے پہلے بہت سی قومیں گزر چکی ہیں تاکہ آپ ان چیزوں کی تلاوت کریں جنہیں ہم نے آپ کی طرف بذریعہ وحی نازل کیا ہے حالانکہ وہ لوگ رحمان کا انکار کرنے والے ہیں آپ ان سے کہئے کہ وہ میرا رب ہے اور اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے اسی پر میرا اعتماد ہے اور اسی کی طرف بازگشت ہے۔

And even if there were a Quran with which the mountains were made to pass away, or the earth were travelled over with it, or the dead were made to speak thereby; nay! the commandment is wholly Allah’s. Have not yet those who believe known that if Allah please He would certainly guide all the people? And (as for) those who disbelieve, there will not cease to afflict them because of what they do a repelling calamity, or it will alight close by their abodes, until the promise of Allah comes about; surely Allah will not fail in (His) promise.

اور اگر کوئی قرآن ایسا ہو جس سے پہاڑوں کو اپنی جگہ سے چلایا جاسکے یا زمین طے کی جاسکے یا مردوں سے کلام کیا جاسکے، تو وہ یہی قرآن ہے۔ بلکہ تمام امور اللہ کے لئے ہیں تو کیا ایمان والوں پر واضح نہیں ہوا کہ اگر خدا جبرًا چاہتا تو سارے انسانوں کو ہدایت دے دیتا اور ان کافروں پر ان کے کرتوت کی بنا پر ہمیشہ کوئی نہ کوئی مصیبت پڑتی رہے گی یا ان کے دیار کے آس پاس مصیبت آتی رہے گی یہاں تک کہ وعدہِ الٰہی کا وقت آجائے کہ اللہ اپنے وعدہ کے خلاف نہیں کرتا ہے۔

And apostles before you were certainly mocked at, but I gave respite to those who disbelieved, then I destroyed them; how then was My requital (of evil)?

پیغمبر آپ سے پہلے بہت سے رسولوں کا مذاق اڑایا گیا ہے تو ہم نے کافروں کو تھوڑی دیر کی مہلت دیدی اور اس کے بعد اپنی گرفت میں لے لیا تو کیسا سخت عذاب ہوا۔

Is He then Who watches every soul as to what it earns? And yet they give associates to Allah! Say: Give them a name; nay, do you mean to inform Him of what He does not know in the earth, or (do you affirm this) by an outward saying? Rather, their plans are made to appear fair-seeming to those who disbelieve, and they are kept back from the path; and whom Allah makes err, he shall have no guide.

کیا وہ ذات جو ہر نفس کے اعمال کی نگراں ہے اور انہوں نے اس کے لئے شریک فرض کرلئے ہیں تو کہئے کہ ذرا شرکاء کے نام تو بتاؤ تم خدا کو ان شرکاء کی خبر دے رہے ہو جن کی ساری زمین میں اسے بھی خبر نہیں ہے یا فقط یہ ظاہری الفاظ ہیں اور سچ تو یہ ہے کہ کافروں کے لئے ان کا مکر آراستہ ہوگیا ہے اور انہیں راہِ حق سے روک دیا گیا ہے اور جسے خدا ہدایت نہ دے اس کا کوئی ہدایت کرنے والا نہیں ہے۔

They shall have chastisement in this world’s life, and the chastisement of the hereafter is certainly more grievous, and they shall have no protector against Allah.

ان کے لئے زندگانی دنیا میں بھی عذاب ہے اور آخرت کا عذاب تو اور زیادہ سخت ہے اور پھر اللہ سے بچانے والا کوئی نہیں ہے۔

A likeness of the garden which the righteous are promised; there now beneath it rivers, its food and shades are perpetual; this is the requital of those who guarded (against evil), and the requital of the unbelievers is the fire.

جس جنت کا صاحبانِ تقویٰ سے وعدہ کیا گیا ہے اس کی مثال یہ ہے کہ اس کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی اور اس کے پھل دائمی ہوں گے اور سایہ بھی ہمیشہ رہے گا۔ یہ صاحبانِ تقویٰ کی عاقبت ہے اور کفار کا انجام کار بہرحال جہنّم ہے۔

And those to whom We have given the Book rejoice in that which has been revealed to you, and of the confederates are some who deny a part of it. Say: I am only commanded that I should serve Allah and not associate anything with Him, to Him do I invite (you) and to Him is my return.

اور جن لوگوں کو ہم نے کتاب دی ہے وہ اس تنزیل سے خوش ہیں اور بعض گروہ وہ ہیں جو بعض باتوں کا انکار کرتے ہیں تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ مجھے یہ حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ میں اللہ کی عبادت کروں اور کسی کو اس کا شریک نہ بناؤں میں اسی کی طرف دعوت دیتا ہوں اور اسی کی طرف سب کی بازگشت ہے۔

And thus have We revealed it, a true judgment in Arabic, and if you follow their low desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you shall not have against Allah any guardian or a protector.

اور اسی طرح ہم نے اس قرآن کو عربی زبان کا فرمان بناکر نازل کیا ہے اور اگر آپ علم کے آجانے کے بعد ان کی خواہشات کا اتباع کرلیں گے تو اللہ کے مقابلے میں کوئی کسی کا سرپرست اور بچانے والا نہ ہوگا۔

And certainly We sent apostles before you and gave them wives and children, and it is not in (the power of) an apostle to bring a sign except by Allah’s permission; for every term there is an appointment.

ہم نے آپ سے پہلے بھی بہت سے رسول بھیجے ہیں اور ان کے لئے ازواج اور اولاد قرار دی ہے اور کسی رسول کے لئے یہ ممکن نہیں ہے وہ اللہ کی اجازت کے بغیر کوئی نشانی لے آئے کہ ہر مدّت اور معیاد کے لئے ایک نوشتہ مقرر ہے۔

Allah makes to pass away and establishes what He pleases, and with Him is the basis of the Book.

اللہ جس چیز کو چاہتا ہے مٹادیتا ہے یا برقرار رکھتا ہے کہ اصل کتاب اسی کے پاس ہے۔

And We will either let you see part of what We threaten them with or cause you to die, for only the delivery of the message is (incumbent) on you, while calling (them) to account is Our (business).

اور اے پیغمبر ہم کفار سے کئے وعدہ عذاب کو تمہیں دکھلادیں یا تمہیں اٹھالیں تمہارا کام تو صرف احکام کا پہنچا دینا ہے حساب کی ذمہ داری ہماری اپنی ہے۔

Do they not see that We are bringing destruction upon the land by curtailing it of its sides? And Allah pronounces a doom- there is no repeller of His decree, and He is swift to take account.

کیا ان لوگوں نے نہیں دیکھا کہ ہم کس طرح زمین کی طرف آکر اس کو اطراف سے کم کردیتے ہیں اور اللہ ہی حکم دینے والا ہے کوئی اس کے حکم کا ٹالنے والا نہیں ہے اور وہ بہت تیز حساب کرنے والا ہے۔

And those before them did indeed make plans, but all planning is Allah’s; He knows what every soul earns, and the unbelievers shall come to know for whom is the (better) issue of the abode.

اور ان کے پہلے والوں نے بھی مکر کیا ہے لیکن ساری تدبیریں اللہ ہی کے اختیار میں ہیں وہ ہر نفس کے کاروبار کو جانتا ہے اور عنقریب کفار بھی جان لیں گے کہ آخرت کا گھر کس کے لئے ہے۔

And those who disbelieve say: You are not a messenger. Say: Allah is sufficient as a witness between me and you and whoever has knowledge of the Book.

اور یہ کافر کہتے ہیں کہ آپ رسول نہیں ہیں کہہ دیجئے کہ ہمارے اور تمہارے درمیان رسالت کی گواہی کے لئے خدا کافی ہے اور وہ شخص کافی ہے جس کے پاس پوری کتاب کا علم ہے۔

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
