Surah Ahzaab (33, 73 ayat)سورۂ احزاب

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

O Prophet! be careful of (your duty to) Allah and do not comply with (the wishes of) the unbelievers and the hypocrites; surely Allah is Knowing, Wise;

اے پیغمبر خدا سے ڈرتے رہئیے اور خبردار کافروں اور منافقوں کی اطاعت نہ کیجئے گا یقینًا اللہ ہر شے کا جاننے والا اور صاحبِ حکمت ہے۔

And follow what is revealed to you from your Lord; surely Allah is Aware of what you do;

اور جو کچھ آپ کے پروردگار کی طرف سے وحی کی جاتی ہے اسی کا اتباع کرتے رہیں کہ اللہ تم لوگوں کے اعمال سے خوب باخبر ہے۔

And rely on Allah; and Allah is sufficient for a Protector.

اور اپنے خدا پر اعتماد کیجئے کہ وہ نگرانی کے لئے بہت کافی ہے۔

Allah has not made for any man two hearts within him; nor has He made your wives whose backs you liken to the backs of your mothers as your mothers, nor has He made those whom you assert to be your sons your real sons; these are the words of your mouths; and Allah speaks the truth and He guides to the way.

اور اللہ نے کسی مرد کے سینے میں دو دل نہیں قرار دیئے ہیں اور تمہاری وہ بیویاں جن سے تم اظہار کرتے ہو انہیں تمہاری واقعی ماں نہیں قرار دیا ہے اور نہ تمہاری منہ بولی اولاد کو اولاد قرار دیا ہے یہ سب تمہاری زبانی باتیں ہیں اور اللہ تو صرف حق کی بات کہتا ہے اور سیدھے راستے کی طرف ہدایت کرتا ہے۔

Assert their relationship to their fathers; this is more equitable with Allah; but if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brethren in faith and your friends; and there is no blame on you concerning that in which you made a mistake, but (concerning) that which your hearts do purposely (blame may rest on you), and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

ان بچوں کو ان کے باپ کے نام سے پکارو کہ یہی خدا کی نظر میں انصاف سے قریب تر ہے اور اگر ان کے باپ کو نہیں جانتے ہو تو یہ دین میں تمہارے بھائی اور دوست ہیں اور تمہارے لئے اس بات میں کوئی حرج نہیں ہے جو تم سے غلطی ہو گئی ہے البتہ تم اس بات کے ضرور ذمہ دار ہو جو تمہارے دلوں سے قصدًا انجام دی ہے اور اللہ بہت بخشنے والا اور مہربان ہے۔

The Prophet has a greater claim on the faithful than they have on themselves, and his wives are (as) their mothers; and the possessors of relationship have the better claim in the ordinance of Allah to inheritance, one with respect to another, than (other) believers, and (than) those who have fled (their homes), except that you do some good to your friends; this is written in the Book.

بےشک نبی تمام مومنین سے ان کے نفس کے بہ نسبت زیادہ اولیٰ ہے اور ان کی بیویاں ان سب کی مائیں ہیں اور مومنین و مہاجرین میں سے قرابتدار ایک دوسرے سے زیادہ اولویت اور قربت رکھتے ہیں مگر یہ کہ تم اپنے دوستوں کے ساتھ نیک برتاؤ کرنا چاہو تو کوئی بات نہیں ہے یہ بات کتابِ خدا میں لکھی ہوئی موجود ہے۔

And when We made a covenant with the prophets and with you, and with Nuh and Ibrahim and Musa and Isa, son of Marium, and We made with them a strong covenant

اور اس وقت کو یاد کیجئے جب ہم نے تمام انبیاءؑ سے اور بالخصوص آپ سے اور نوحؑ، ابراہیمؑ، موسیٰؑ اور عیسٰی بن مریمؑ سے عہد لیا اور سب سے بہت سخت قسم کا عہد لیا۔

That He may question the truthful of their truth, and He has prepared for the unbelievers a painful punishment.

تاکہ صادقین سے ان کی صداقتِ تبلیغ کے بارے میں سوال کیا جائے اور خدا نے کافروں کے لئے بڑا درد ناک عذاب مہیّا کر رکھا ہے۔

O you who believe! call to mind the favor of Allah to you when there came down upon you hosts, so We sent against them a strong wind and hosts, that you saw not, and Allah is seeing what you do.

ایمان والو! اس وقت اللہ کی نعمت کو یاد کرو جب کفر کے لشکر تمہارے سامنے آگئے اور ہم نے ان کے خلاف تمہاری مدد کے لئے تیز ہوا اور ایسے لشکر بھیج دیئے جن کو تم نے دیکھا بھی نہیں تھا اور اللہ تمہارے اعمال کو خوب دیکھنے والا ہے۔

When they came upon you from above you and from below you, and when the eyes turned dull, and the hearts rose up to the throats, and you began to think diverse thoughts of Allah.

اس وقت جب کفار تمہارے اوپر کی طرف سے اور نیچے کی سمت سے آگئے اور دہشت سے نگاہیں خیرہ کرنے لگیں اور کلیجے منہ کو آنے لگے اور تم خدا کے بارے میں طرح طرح کے خیالات میں مبتلا ہو گئے۔

There the believers were tried and they were shaken with severe shaking.

اس وقت مومنین کا باقاعدہ امتحان لیا گیا اور انہیں شدید قسم کے جھٹکے دیئے گئے۔

And when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was a disease began to say: Allah and His Apostle did not promise us (victory) but only to deceive.

اور جب منافقین اور جن کے دلوں میں مرض تھا یہ کہہ رہے تھے کہ خدا و رسول نے ہم سے صرف دھوکہ دینے والا وعدہ کیا ہے۔

And when a party of them said: O people of Medina! there is no place to stand for you (here), therefore go back; and a party of them asked permission of the prophet, saying. Surely our houses are exposed; and they were not exposed; they only desired to fly away.

اور جب ان کے ایک گروہ نے کہہ دیا کہ مدینہ والو اب یہاں ٹھکانا نہیں ہے لہذا واپس بھاگ چلو اور ان میں سے ایک گروہ نبی سے اجازت مانگ رہا تھا کہ ہمارے گھر خالی پڑے ہوئے ہیں حالانکہ وہ گھر خالی نہیں تھے بلکہ یہ لوگ صرف بھاگنے کا ارادہ کر رہے تھے۔

And if an entry were made upon them from the outlying parts of it, then they were asked to wage war, they would certainly have done it, and they would not have stayed in it but a little while.

حالانکہ اگر ان پر چاروں طرف سے لشکر داخل کر دیئے جاتے اور پھر ان سے فتنہ کا سوال کیا جاتا تو فورًا حاضر ہو جاتے اور تھوڑی دیر سے زیادہ نہ ٹھہرتے۔

And certainly they had made a covenant with Allah before, (that) they would not turn (their) backs; and Allah’s covenant shall be inquired of.

اور ان لوگوں نے اللہ سے یقینی عہد کیا تھا کہ ہرگز پیٹھ نہ پھرائیں گے اور اللہ کے عہد کے بارے میں بہرحال سوال کیا جائے گا۔

Say: Flight shall not do you any good if you fly from death or slaughter, and in that case you will not be allowed to enjoy yourselves but a little.

آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ اگر تم قتل یا موت کے خوف سے بھاگنا بھی چاہو تو فرار کام آنے والا نہیں ہے اور دنیا میں تھوڑا ہی آرام کر سکو گے۔

Say: Who is it that can withhold you from Allah if He intends to do you evil, or He intends to show you mercy? And they will not find for themselves besides Allah any guardian or a helper.

کہہ دیجئے کہ اگر خدا برائی کا ارادہ کرلے یا بھلائی ہی کرنا چاہے تو تمہیں اس سے کون بچاسکتا ہے اور یہ لوگ اس کے علاوہ نہ کوئی سرپرست پا سکتے ہیں اور نہ مدد گار۔

Allah knows indeed those among you who hinder others and those who say to their brethren: Come to us; and they come not to the fight but a little

خدا ان لوگوں کو بھی خوب جانتا ہے جو جنگ سے روکنے والے ہیں اور اپنے بھائیوں سے یہ کہنے والے ہیں کہ ہماری طرف آجاؤ اور یہ خود میدانِ جنگ میں بہت کم آتے ہیں۔

Being niggardly with respect to you; but when fear comes, you will see them looking to you, their eyes rolling like one swooning because of death; but when the fear is gone they smite you with sharp tongues, being niggardly of the good things. These have not believed, therefore Allah has made their doing naught; and this is easy to Allah.

یہ تم سے جان چراتے ہیں اور جب خوف سامنے آجائے گا تو آپ دیکھیں گے کہ آپ کی طرف اس طرح دیکھیں گے کہ جیسے ان کی آنکھیں یوں پھر رہی ہیں جیسے موت کی غشی طاری ہو اور جب خوف چلا جائے گا تو آپ پر تیز تر زبانوں کے ساتھ حملہ کریں گے اور انہیں مالِ غنیمت کی حرص ہو گی یہ لوگ شروع ہی سے ایمان نہیں لائے ہیں لہٰذا خدا نے ان کے اعمال کو برباد کر دیا ہے اور خدا کے لئے یہ کام بڑا آسان ہے۔

They think the allies are not gone, and if the allies should come (again) they would fain be in the deserts with the desert Arabs asking for news about you, and if they were among you they would not fight save a little.

یہ لوگ ابھی تک اس خیال میں ہیں کہ کفار کے لشکر گئے نہیں ہیں اور اگر دوبارہ لشکر آجائیں تو یہ یہی چاہیں گے کہ اے کاش دیہاتیوں کے ساتھ صحراؤں میں آباد ہو گئے ہوتے اور وہاں سے تمہاری خبریں دریافت کرتے رہتے اور اگر تمہارے ساتھ رہتے بھی تو بہت کم ہی جہاد کرتے۔

Certainly you have in the Apostle of Allah an excellent exemplar for him who hopes in Allah and the latter day and remembers Allah much.

مسلمانو! تم میں سے اس کے لئے رسول کی زندگی میں بہترین نمونہ عمل ہے جو شخص بھی اللہ اور آخرت سے امیدیں وابستہ کئے ہوئے ہے اور اللہ کو بہت زیادہ یاد کرتا ہے۔

And when the believers saw the allies, they said: This is what Allah and His Apostle promised us, and Allah and His Apostle spoke the truth; and it only increased them in faith and submission.

اور صاحبانِ ایمان کا یہ عالم ہے کہ جب انہوں نے کفر کے لشکروں کو دیکھا تو پکار اٹھے کہ یہ وہی بات ہے جس کا خدا اور رسول نے وعدہ کیا تھا اور خدا و رسول کا وعدہ بالکل سچا ہے اور اس ہجوم نے ان کے ایمان اور جذبہ تسلیم میں مزید اضافہ ہی کر دیا۔

Of the believers are men who are true to the covenant which they made with Allah: so of them is he who accomplished his vow, and of them is he who yet waits, and they have not changed in the least;

مومنین میں ایسے بھی مردِ میدان ہیں جنہوں نے اللہ سے کئے وعدہ کو سچ کر دکھایا ہے ان میں بعض اپنا وقت پورا کر چکے ہیں اور بعض اپنے وقت کا انتظار کر رہے ہیں اور ان لوگوں نے اپنی بات میں کوئی تبدیلی نہیں پیدا کی ہے۔

That Allah may reward the truthful for their truth, and punish the hypocrites if He please or turn to them (mercifully); surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

تاکہ خدا صادقین کو ان کی صداقت کا بدلہ دے اور منافقین کو چاہے تو ان پر عذاب نازل کرے یا ان کی توبہ قبول کر لے کہ اللہ یقینًا بہت بخشنے والا اور مہربان ہے۔

And Allah turned back the unbelievers in their rage; they did not obtain any advantage, and Allah sufficed the believers in fighting; and Allah is Strong, Mighty.

اور خدا نے کفّار کو ان کے غصّہ سمیت واپس کر دیا کہ وہ کوئی فائدہ حاصل نہ کر سکے اور اللہ نے مومنین کو جنگ سے بچا لیا اور اللہ بڑی قوت والا اور صاحبِ عزّت ہے۔

And He drove down those of the followers of the Book who backed them from their fortresses and He cast awe into their hearts; some you killed and you took captive another part.

اور اس نے کفار کی پشت پناہی کرنے والے اہل کتاب کو ان کے قلعوں سے نیچے اتار دیا اور ان کے دلوں میں ایسا رعب ڈال دیا کہ تم ان میں سے کچھ کو قتل کر رہے تھے اور کچھ کو قیدی بنا رہے تھے۔

And He made you heirs to their land and their dwellings and their property, and (to) a land which you have not yet trodden, and Allah has power over all things.

اور پھر تمہیں ان کی زمین، ان کے دیار اور ان کے اموال اور زمینوں کا بھی وارث بنا دیا جن میں تم نے قدم بھی نہیں رکھا تھا اور بےشک اللہ ہر شے پر قادر ہے۔

O Prophet! say to your wives: If you desire this world’s life and its adornment, then come, I will give you a provision and allow you to depart a goodly departing;

پیغمبر آپ اپنی بیویوں سے کہہ دیجئے کہ اگر تم لوگ زندگانی دنیا اور اس کی زینت کی طلبگار ہو تو آؤ میں تمہیں متاعِ دنیا دے کر خوبصورتی کے ساتھ رخصت کر دوں۔

And if you desire Allah and His Apostle and the latter abode, then surely Allah has prepared for the doers of good among you a mighty reward.

اور اگر اللہ اور رسول اور آخرت کی طلب گار ہو تو خدا نے تم میں سے نیک کردار عورتوں کے لئے بہت بڑا اجر فراہم کر رکھا ہے۔

O wives of the prophet! whoever of you commits an open indecency, the punishment shall be increased to her doubly; and this is easy to Allah.

اے زنانِ پیغمبر جو بھی تم میں سے کھلی ہوئی برائی کا ارتکاب کرے گی اس کا عذاب بھی دہرا کر دیا جائے گا اور یہ بات خدا کے لئے بہت آسان ہے۔

And whoever of you is obedient to Allah and His Apostle and does good, We will give to her her reward doubly, and We have prepared for her an honorable sustenance.

اور جو بھی تم میں سے خدا اور رسول کی اطاعت کرے اور نیک اعمال کرے اسے دہرا اجر عطا کریں گے اور ہم نے اس کے لئے بہترین رزق فراہم کیا ہے۔

O wives of the Prophet! you are not like any other of the women; if you will be on your guard, then be not soft in (your) speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease yearn; and speak a good word.

اے زنانِ پیغمبر تم اگر تقویٰ اختیار کرو تو تمہارا مرتبہ کسی عام عورت جیسا نہیں ہے لہٰذا کسی آدمی سے لگی لپٹی بات نہ کرنا کہ جس کے دل میں بیماری ہو اسے لالچ پیدا ہو جائے اور ہمیشہ نیک باتیں کیا کرو۔

And stay in your houses and do not display your finery like the displaying of the ignorance of yore; and keep up prayer, and pay the poor-rate, and obey Allah and His Apostle. Allah only desires to keep away the uncleanness from you, O people of the House! and to purify you a (thorough) purifying.

اور اپنے گھر میں بیٹھی رہو اور پہلی جاہلیت جیسا بناؤ سنگھار نہ کرو اور نماز قائم کرو اور زکوٰۃ ادا کرو اور اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی اطاعت کرو۔ بس اللہ کا ارادہ یہ ہے اے اہلبیتؑ کہ تم سے ہر برائی کو دور رکھے اور اس طرح پاک و پاکیزہ رکھے جو پاک و پاکیزہ رکھنے کا حق ہے۔

And keep to mind what is recited in your houses of the communications of Allah and the wisdom; surely Allah is Knower of subtleties, Aware.

اور ازواجِ پیغمبر تمہارے گھروں میں جن آیاتِ الٰہی اور حکمت کی باتوں کی تلاوت کی جاتی ہے انہیں یاد رکھنا کہ خدا بڑا باریک بین اور ہر شے کی خبر رکھنے والا ہے۔

Surely the men who submit and the women who submit, and the believing men and the believing women, and the obeying men and the obeying women, and the truthful men and the truthful women, and the patient men and the patient women and the humble men and the humble women, and the almsgiving men and the almsgiving women, and the fasting men and the fasting women, and the men who guard their private parts and the women who guard, and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember- Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a mighty reward.

بےشک مسلمان مرد اور مسلمان عورتیں اور مومن مرد اور مومن عورتیں اور اطاعت گزار مرد اور اطاعت گزار عورتیں اور سچے مرد اور سچی عورتیں اور صابر مرد اور صابر عورتیں اور فروتنی کرنے والے مرد اور فروتنی کرنے والی عورتیں اور صدقہ دینے والے مرد اور صدقہ دینے والی عورتیں روزہ رکھنے والے مرد اور روزہ رکھنے والی عورتیں اور اپنی عفّت کی حفاظت کرنے والے مرد اور عورتیں اور خدا کا بکثرت ذکر کرنے والے مرد اور عورتیں، اللہ نے ان سب کے لئے مغفرت اور عظیم اجر مہیّاکر رکھا ہے۔

And it behoves not a believing man and a believing woman that they should have any choice in their matter when Allah and His Apostle have decided a matter; and whoever disobeys Allah and His Apostle, he surely strays off a manifest straying.

اور کسی مومن مرد یا عورت کو اختیار نہیں ہے کہ جب خدا و رسول کسی امر کے بارے میں فیصلہ کر دیں تو وہ بھی اپنے امر کے بارے میں صاحبِ اختیار بن جائے اور جو بھی خدا و رسول کی نافرمانی کرے گا وہ بڑی کھلی ہوئی گمراہی میں مبتلا ہو گا۔

And when you said to him to whom Allah had shown favor and to whom you had shown a favor: Keep your wife to yourself and be careful of (your duty to) Allah; and you concealed in your soul what Allah would bring to light, and you feared men, and Allah had a greater right that you should fear Him. But when Zaid had accomplished his want of her, We gave her to you as a wife, so that there should be no difficulty for the believers in respect of the wives of their adopted sons, when they have accomplished their want of them; and Allah’s command shall be performed.

اور اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب تم اس شخص سے جس پر خدا نے بھی نعمت نازل کی اور تم نے بھی احسان کیا یہ کہہ رہے تھے کہ اپنی زوجہ کو روک کر رکھو اور اللہ سے ڈرو اور تم اپنے دل میں اس بات کو چھپائے ہوئے تھے جسے خدا ظاہر کرنے والا تھا اور تمہیں لوگوں کے طعنوں کا خوف تھا حالانکہ خدا زیادہ حقدار ہے کہ اس سے ڈرا جائے اس کے بعد جب زید نے اپنی حاجت پوری کر لی تو ہم نے اس عورت کا عقد تم سے کر دیا تاکہ مومنین کے لئے منہ بولے بیٹوں کی بیویوں سے عقد کرنے میں کوئی حرج نہ رہے جب وہ لوگ اپنی ضرورت پوری کر چکیں اور اللہ کا حکم بہرحال نافذ ہو کر رہتا ہے۔

There is no harm in the Prophet doing that which Allah has ordained for him; such has been the course of Allah with respect to those who have gone before; and the command of Allah is a decree that is made absolute:

نبی کے لئے خدا کے فرائض میں کوئی حرج نہیں ہے یہ گزشتہ انبیاء کے دور سے سنّتِ الہٰیّہ چلی آرہی ہے اور اللہ کا حکم صحیح اندازے کے مطابق مقرر کیا ہوا ہوتا ہے۔

Those who deliver the messages of Allah and fear Him, and do not fear anyone but Allah; and Allah is sufficient to take account.

وہ لوگ اللہ کے پیغام کو پہنچاتے ہیں اور دل میں اس کا خوف رکھتے ہیں اور اس کے علاوہ کسی سے نہیں ڈرتے ہیں اور اللہ حساب کرنے کے لئے کافی ہے۔

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Apostle of Allah and the Last of the prophets; and Allah is cognizant of all things.

محمد تمہارے مردوں میں سے کسی ایک کے باپ نہیں ہیں لیکن وہ اللہ کے رسول اور سلسلہ انبیاء کے خاتم ہیں اور اللہ ہر شے کا خوب جاننے والا ہے۔

O you who believe! remember Allah, remembering frequently

ایمان والو اللہ کا ذکر بہت زیادہ کیا کرو۔

And glorify Him morning and evening.

اور صبح و شام اس کی تسبیح کیا کرو۔

He it is Who sends His blessings on you, and (so do) His angels, that He may bring you forth out of utter darkness into the light; and He is Merciful to the believers.

وہی وہ ہے جو تم پر رحمت نازل کرتا ہے اور اس کے فرشتے بھی تاکہ تمہیں تاریکیوں سے نکال کر نور کی منزل تک لے آئے اور وہ صاحبانِ ایمان پر بہت زیادہ مہربان ہے۔

Their salutation on the day that they meet Him shall be, Peace, and He has prepared for them an honourable reward.

ان کی مدارات جس دن پروردگار سے ملاقات کریں گے سلامتی سے ہو گی اور ان کے لئے اس نے بہترین اجر مہیّا کر رکھا ہے۔

O Prophet! surely We have sent you as a witness, and as a bearer of good news and as a warner

اے پیغمبر ہم نے آپ کو گواہ، بشارت دینے والا، عذابِ الہٰی سے ڈرانے والا،

And as one inviting to Allah by His permission, and as a light-giving torch.

اور خدا کی طرف اس کی اجازت سے دعوت دینے والا اور روشن چراغ بنا کر بھیجا ہے۔

And give to the believers the good news that they shall have a great grace from Allah.

اور مومنین کو بشارت دے دیجئے کہ ان کے لئے اللہ کی طرف سے بہت بڑا فضل و کرم ہے۔

And be not compliant to the unbelievers and the hypocrites, and leave unregarded their annoying talk, and rely on Allah; and Allah is sufficient as a Protector.

اور خبردار کفّار اور منافقین کی اطاعت نہ کیجئے گا اور ان کی اذیت کا خیال ہی چھوڑ دیجئے اور اللہ پر اعتماد کیجئے کہ وہ نگرانی کرنے کے لئے بہت کافی ہے۔

O you who believe! when you marry the believing women, then divorce them before you touch them, you have in their case no term which you should reckon; so make some provision for them and send them forth a goodly sending forth.

ایمان والو جب مومنات سے نکاح کرنا اور ان کو ہاتھ لگائے بغیر طلاق دے دینا تو تمہارے لئے کوئی حق نہیں ہے کہ ان سے عدہ کا مطالبہ کرو لہٰذا کچھ عطیہ دے کر خوبصورتی کے ساتھ رخصت کر دینا۔

O Prophet! surely We have made lawful to you your wives whom you have given their dowries, and those whom your right hand possesses out of those whom Allah has given to you as prisoners of war, and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts, and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who fled with you; and a believing woman if she gave herself to the Prophet, if the Prophet desired to marry her- specially for you, not for the (rest of) believers; We know what We have ordained for them concerning their wives and those whom their right hands possess in order that no blame may attach to you; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

اے پیغمبر ہم نے آپ کے لئے آپ کی بیویوں کو جن کا مہر دے دیا ہے اور کنیزوں کو جنہیں خدا نے جنگ کے بغیر عطا کر دیا ہے اور آپ کے چچا کی بیٹیوں کو اور آپ کی پھوپھی کی بیٹیوں کو اور آپ کے ماموں کی بیٹیوں کو اور آپ کی خالہ کی بیٹیوں کو جنہوں نے آپ کے ساتھ ہجرت کی ہے اور اس مومنہ عورت کو جو اپنا نفس نبی کو بخش دے اگر نبی اس سے نکاح کرنا چاہے تو حلال کر دیا ہے لیکن یہ صرف آپ کے لئے ہے باقی مومنین کے لئے نہیں ہے، ہمیں معلوم ہے کہ ہم نے ان لوگوں پر ان کی بیویوں اور کنیزوں کے بارے میں کیا فریضہ قرار دیا ہے تاکہ آپ کے لئے کوئی زحمت اور مشقّت نہ ہو اور اللہ بہت زیادہ بخشنے والا اور مہربان ہے۔

You may put off whom you please of them, and you may take to you whom you please, and whom you desire of those whom you had separated provisionally; no blame attaches to you; this is most proper, so that their eyes may be cool and they may not grieve, and that they should be pleased, all of them, with what you give them, and Allah knows what is in your hearts; and Allah is Knowing, Forbearing.

ان میں سے جس کو آپ چاہیں الگ کر لیں اور جس کو چاہیں اپنی پناہ میں رکھیں اور جن کو الگ کر دیا ہے ان میں سے بھی کسی کو چاہیں تو کوئی حرج نہیں ہے۔ یہ سب اس لئے ہے تاکہ ان کی آنکھیں ٹھنڈی رہیں اور یہ رنجیدہ نہ ہوں اور جو کچھ آپ نے دے دیا ہے اس سے خوش رہیں اور اللہ تمہارے دلوں کا حال خوب جانتا ہے اور وہ ہر شے کا جاننے والا اور صاحبِ حکمت ہے۔

It is not allowed to you to take women afterwards, nor that you should change them for other wives, though their beauty be pleasing to you, except what your right hand possesses; and Allah is Watchful over all things.

اس کے بعد آپ کے لئے دوسری عورتیں حلال نہیں ہیں اور نہ یہ جائز ہے کہ ان بیویوں کو بدل لیں چاہے دوسری عورتوں کا حسن کتنا ہی اچھا کیوں نہ لگے علاوہ ان عورتوں کے جو آپ کے ہاتھوں کی ملکیت ہیں اور خدا ہر شے کی نگرانی کرنے والا ہے۔

O you who believe! do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given to you for a meal, not waiting for its cooking being finished- but when you are invited, enter, and when you have taken the food, then disperse- not seeking to listen to talk; surely this gives the Prophet trouble, but he forbears from you, and Allah does not forbear from the truth. And when you ask of them any goods, ask of them from behind a curtain; this is purer for your hearts and (for) their hearts; and it does not behove you that you should give trouble to the Apostle of Allah, nor that you should marry his wives after him ever; surely this is grievous in the sight of Allah.

اے ایمان والو خبردار پیغمبر کے گھروں میں اس وقت تک داخل نہ ہونا جب تک تمہیں کھانے کے لئے اجازت نہ دے دی جائے اور اس وقت بھی برتنوں پر نگاہ نہ رکھنا ہاں جب دعوت دے دی جائے تو داخل ہو جاؤ اور جب کھالو تو فورًا منتشر ہو جاؤ اور باتوں میں نہ لگ جاؤ کہ یہ بات پیغمبر کو تکلیف پہنچاتی ہے اور وہ تمہارا خیال کرتے ہیں حالانکہ اللہ حق کے بارے میں کسی بات کی شرم نہیں رکھتا اور جب ازواج پیغمبر سے کسی چیز کا سوال کرو تو پردہ کے پیچھے سے سوال کرو کہ یہ بات تمہارے اور ان کے دونوں کے دلوں کے لئے زیادہ پاکیزہ ہے اور تمہیں حق نہیں ہے کہ خدا کے رسول کو اذیت دو یا ان کے بعد کبھی بھی ان کی ازواج سے نکاح کرو کہ یہ بات خدا کی نگاہ میں بہت بڑی بات ہے۔

If you do a thing openly or do it in secret, then surely Allah is Cognizant of all things.

تم کسی شے کا اظہار کرو یا اس کی پردہ داری کرو اللہ بہرحال ہر شے کا جاننے والا ہے۔

There is no blame on them in respect of their fathers, nor their sons, nor their brothers, nor their brothers’ sons, nor their sisters’ sons nor their own women, nor of what their right hands possess; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah; surely Allah is a witness of all things.

اور عورتوں کے لئے کوئی حرج نہیں ہے اگر اپنے باپ دادا، اپنی اولاد، اپنے بھائی، اپنے بھتیجے اور اپنے بھانجوں کے سامنے بے حجاب آئیں یا اپنی عورتوں اور اپنی کنیزوں کے سامنے آئیں لیکن تم سب اللہ سے ڈرتی رہو کہ اللہ ہر شے پر حاضر و ناظر ہے۔

Surely Allah and His angels bless the Prophet; O you who believe! call for (Divine) blessings on him and salute him with a (becoming) salutation.

بےشک اللہ اور اس کے ملائکہ رسول پر صلوات بھیجتے ہیں تو اے صاحبانِ ایمان تم بھی ان پر صلوات بھیجتے رہو اور سلام کرتے رہو۔

Surely (as for) those who speak evil things of Allah and His Apostle, Allah has cursed them in this world and the hereafter, and He has prepared for them a chastisement bringing disgrace.

یقینًا جو لوگ خدا اور اس کے رسول کو ستاتے ہیں ان پر دنیا اور آخرت میں خدا کی لعنت ہے اور خدا نے ان کے لئے رسوا کن عذاب مہیّا کر رکھا ہے۔

And those who speak evil things of the believing men and the believing women without their having earned (it), they are guilty indeed of a false accusation and a manifest sin.

اور جو لوگ صاحبانِ ایمان مرد یا عورتوں کو بغیر کچھ کئے دھرے اذیت دیتے ہیں انہوں نے بڑے بہتان اور کھلے گناہ کا بوجھ اپنے سر پر اٹھا رکھا ہے۔

O Prophet! say to your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers that they let down upon them their over-garments; this will be more proper, that they may be known, and thus they will not be given trouble; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

اے پیغمبر آپ اپنی بیویوں، بیٹیوں اور مومنین کی عورتوں سے کہہ دیجئے کہ اپنی چادر کو اپنے اوپر لٹکائے رہا کریں کہ یہ طریقہ ان کی شناخت یا شرافت سے قریب تر ہے اور اس طرح ان کو اذیت نہ دی جائے گی اور خدا بہت بخشنے والا اور مہربان ہے۔

If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease and the agitators in the city do not desist, We shall most certainly set you over them, then they shall not be your neighbors in it but for a little while;

پھر اگر منافقین اور جن کے دلوں میں بیماری ہے اور مدینہ میں افواہ پھیلانے والے اپنی حرکتوں سے باز نہ آئے تو ہم آپ ہی کو ان پر مسلّط کردیں گے اور پھر یہ آپ کے ہمسایہ میں صرف چند ہی دن رہ پائیں گے۔

Cursed: wherever they are found they shall be seized and murdered, a (horrible) murdering.

یہ لعنت کے مارے ہوئے ہوں گے کہ جہاں مل جائیں گرفتار کر لئے جائیں اور ان کے ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر دیئے جائیں۔

(Such has been) the course of Allah with respect to those who have gone before; and you shall not find any change in the course of Allah.

یہ خدائی سنّت ان لوگوں کے بارے میں رہ چکی ہے جو گزر چکے ہیں اور خدائی سنّت میں تبدیلی نہیں ہو سکتی ہے۔

Men ask you about the hour; say: The knowledge of it is only with Allah, and what will make you comprehend that the hour may be nigh.

پیغمبر یہ لوگ آپ سے قیامت کے بارے میں سوال کرتے ہیں تو کہہ دیجئے کہ اس کا علم خدا کے پاس ہے اور تم کیا جانو شاید وہ قریب ہی ہو۔

Surely Allah has cursed the unbelievers and has prepared for them a burning fire

بےشک اللہ نے کفار پر لعنت کی ہے اور ان کے لئے جہنّم کا انتظام کیا ہے۔

To abide therein for a long time; they shall not find a protector or a helper.

وہ اس میں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے اور انہیں کوئی سرپرست یا مدد گار نہیں ملے گا۔

On the day when their faces shall be turned back into the fire, they shall say: O would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Apostle!

جس دن ان کے چہرے جہنّم کی طرف موڑ دیئے جائیں گے اور یہ کہیں گے کہ اے کاش ہم نے اللہ اور رسول کی اطاعت کی ہوتی۔

And they shall say: O our Lord! surely we obeyed our leaders and our great men, so they led us astray from the path;

اور کہیں گے کہ ہم نے اپنے سرداروں اور بزرگوں کی اطاعت کی تو انہوں نے راستہ سے بہکا دیا۔

O our Lord! give them a double punishment and curse them with a great curse.

پروردگار اب ان پر دہرا عذاب نازل کر اور ان پر بہت بڑی لعنت کر۔

O you who believe! be not like those who spoke evil things of Musa, but Allah cleared him of what they said, and he was worthy of regard with Allah.

ایمان والو خبردار ان کے جیسے نہ بن جاؤ جنہوں نے موسٰیؑ کو اذیت دی تو خدا نے انہیں ان کے قول سے بری ثابت کر دیا اور وہ اللہ کے نزدیک ایک باوجاہت انسان تھے۔

O you who believe! be careful of (your duty to) Allah and speak the right word

ایمان والو اللہ سے ڈرو اور سیدھی بات کرو۔

He will put your deeds into a right state for you, and forgive you your faults; and whoever obeys Allah and His Apostle, he indeed achieves a mighty success.

تاکہ وہ تمہارے اعمال کی اصلاح کر دے اور تمہارے گناہوں کو بخش دے اور جو بھی خدا اور اس کے رسول کی اطاعت کرے گا وہ عظیم کامیابی کے درجہ پر فائز ہو گا۔

Surely We offered the trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused to be unfaithful to it and feared from it, and man has turned unfaithful to it; surely he is unjust, ignorant;

بےشک ہم نے امانت کو آسمان، زمین اور پہاڑ سب کے سامنے پیش کیا اور سب نے اس کے اٹھانے سے انکار کیا اور خوف ظاہر کیا بس انسان نے اس بوجھ کو اٹھا لیا کہ انسان اپنے حق میں ظالم اور نادان ہے۔

So Allah will chastise the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women and the polytheistic men and the polytheistic women, and Allah will turn (mercifully) to the believing men and the believing women, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

تاکہ خدا منافق مرد اور منافق عورت اور مشرک مرد اور مشرک عورت سب پر عذاب نازل کرے اور صاحبِ ایمان مرد اور صاحبِ ایمان عورتوں کی توبہ قبول کرے کہ خدا بہت بخشنے والا اور مہربان ہے۔

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
