Surah Saad (38, 88 ayat)سورۂ ص

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Su’aad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition.

ص ۤ نصیحت والے قرآن کی قسم۔

Nay! those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation and opposition.

حقیقت یہ ہے کہ یہ کفاّر غرور اور اختلاف میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں۔

How many did We destroy before them of the generations, then they cried while the time of escaping had passed away.

ہم نے ان سے پہلے کتنی نسلوں کو تباہ کر دیا ہے پھر انہوں نے فریاد کی لیکن کوئی چھٹکارا ممکن نہیں تھا۔

And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say: This is an enchanter, a liar.

اور انہیں تعجب ہے کہ ان ہی میں سے کوئی ڈرانے والا کیسے آگیا اور کافروں نے صاف کہہ دیا کہ یہ تو جادوگر اور جھوٹا ہے۔

What! makes he the gods a single God? A strange thing is this, to be sure!

کیا اس نے سارے خداؤں کو جوڑ کر ایک خدا بنا دیا ہے یہ تو انتہائی تعجب خیز بات ہے۔

And the chief persons of them break forth, saying: Go and steadily adhere to your gods; this is most surely a thing sought after.

اور ان میں سے ایک گروہ یہ کہہ کر چل دیا چلو اپنے خداؤں پر قائم رہو کہ اس میں ان کی کوئی غرض پائی جاتی ہے۔

We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery:

ہم نے تو اگلے دور کی اُمّتوں میں یہ باتیں نہیں سنی ہیں اور یہ کوئی خود ساختہ بات معلوم ہوتی ہے۔

Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement!

کیا ہم سب کے درمیان تنہا ان ہی پر کتاب نازل ہو گئی ہے حقیقت یہ ہے کہ انہیں ہماری کتاب میں شک ہے بلکہ اصل یہ ہے کہ ابھی انہوں نے عذاب کا مزہ ہی نہیں چکھا ہے۔

Or is it that they have the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the great Giver?

کیا ان کے پاس آپ کے صاحبِ عزّت و عطا پروردگار کی رحمت کا کوئی خزانہ ہے۔

Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any means.

یا ان کے پاس زمین و آسمان اور اس کے مابین کا اختیار ہے تو یہ سیڑھی لگا کر آسمان پر چڑھ جائیں۔

A host of deserters of the allies shall be here put to flight.

تمام گروہوں میں سے ایک گروہ یہاں بھی شکست کھانے والا ہے۔

The people of Nuh and Ad, and Firon, the lord of spikes, rejected (apostles) before them.

اس سے پہلے قومِ نوحؑ، قومِ عادؑ اور میخوں والا فرعون سب گزر چکے ہیں۔

And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties.

اور ثمود، قوم لوطؑ، جنگل والے لوگ یہ سب گروہ گزر چکے ہیں۔

There was none of them but called the apostles liars, so just was My retribution.

ان میں سے ہر ایک نے رسول کی تکذیب کی تو ان پر ہمارا عذاب ثابت ہو گیا۔

Nor do these await aught but a single cry, there being no delay in it.

یہ صرف اس بات کا انتظار کر رہے ہیں کہ ایک ایسی چنگھاڑ بلند ہو جائے جس سے ادنٰی مہلت بھی نہ مل سکے۔

And they say: O our Lord! hasten on to us our portion before the day of reckoning.

اور یہ کہتے ہیں کہ پروردگار ہمارا قسمت کا لکھا ہوا روزِ حساب سے پہلے ہی ہمیں دے دے۔

Bear patiently what they say, and remember Our servant Dawood, the possessor of power; surely he was frequent in returning (to Allah).

آپ ان کی باتوں پر صبر کریں اور ہمارے بندے داؤدؑ کو یاد کریں جو صاحب طاقت بھی تھے اور بے حد رجوع کرنے والے بھی تھے۔

Surely We made the mountains to sing the glory (of Allah) in unison with him at the evening and the sunrise

ہم نے ان کے لئے پہاڑوں کو مُسخّر کر دیا تھا کہ ان کے ساتھ صبح و شام تسبیحِ پروردگار کریں۔

And the birds gathered together; all joined in singing with him.

اور پرندوں کو ان کے گرد جمع کر دیا تھا سب ان کے فرمانبردار تھے۔

And We strengthened his kingdom and We gave him wisdom and a clear judgment.

اور ہم نے ان کے ملک کو مضبوط بنا دیا تھا اور انہیں حکمت اور صحیح فیصلہ کی قوت عطا کر دی تھی۔

And has there come to you the story of the litigants, when they made an entry into the private chamber by ascending over the walls?

اور کیا آپ کے پاس ان جھگڑا کرنے والوں کی خبر آئی ہے جو محراب کی دیوار پھاند کر آگئے تھے۔

When they entered in upon Dawood and he was frightened at them, they said: Fear not; two litigants, of whom one has acted wrongfully towards the other, therefore decide between us with justice, and do not act unjustly, and guide us to the right way.

کہ جب وہ داؤدؑ کے سامنے حاضر ہوئے تو انہوں نے خوف محسوس کیا اور ان لوگوں نے کہا کہ آپ ڈریں نہیں ہم دو فریق ہیں جس میں ایک نے دوسرے پر ظلم کیا ہے آپ حق کے ساتھ فیصلہ کر دیں اور ناانصافی نہ کریں اور ہمیں سیدھے راستہ کی ہدایت کر دیں۔

Surely this is my brother; he has ninety-nine ewes and I have a single ewe; but he said: Make it over to me, and he has prevailed against me in discourse.

یہ ہمارا بھائی ہے اس کے پاس ننانوے دُنبیاں (بکریاں) ہیں اور میرے پاس صرف ایک ہے یہ کہتا ہے کہ وہ بھی میرے حوالے کر دے اور اس بات میں سختی سے کام لیتا ہے۔

He said: Surely he has been unjust to you in demanding your ewe (to add) to his own ewes; and most surely most of the partners act wrongfully towards one another, save those who believe and do good, and very few are they; and Dawood was sure that We had tried him, so he sought the protection of his Lord, and he fell down bowing and turned time after time (to Him).

داؤدؑ نے کہا کہ اس نے تمہاری دُنبی (بکری) کا سوال کر کے تم پر ظلم کیا ہے اور بہت سے شرکاء ایسے ہی ہیں کہ ان میں سے ایک دوسرے پر ظلم کرتا ہے علاوہ ان لوگوں کے جو صاحبانِ ایمان و عمل صالح ہیں اور وہ بہت کم ہیں ، اور داؤدؑ نے یہ خیال کیا کہ ہم نے ان کا امتحان لیا ہے لہٰذا انہوں نے اپنے رب سے استغفار کیا اور سجدہ میں گر پڑے اور ہماری طرف سراپا توجہ بن گئے۔

Therefore We rectified for him this, and most surely he had a nearness to Us and an excellent resort.

تو ہم نے اس بات کو معاف کر دیا اور ہمارے نزدیک ان کے لئے تقرّب اور بہترین بازگشت ہے۔

O Dawood! surely We have made you a ruler in the land; so judge between men with justice and do not follow desire, lest it should lead you astray from the path of Allah; (as for) those who go astray from the path of Allah, they shall surely have a severe punishment because they forgot the day of reckoning.

اے داؤدؑ ہم نے تم کو زمین میں اپنا جانشین بنایا ہے لہٰذا تم لوگوں کے درمیان حق کے ساتھ فیصلہ کرو اور خواہشات کا اتباع نہ کرو کہ وہ راہِ خدا سے منحرف کر دیں، بےشک جو لوگ راہِ خدا سے بھٹک جاتے ہیں ان کے لئے شدید عذاب ہے کہ انہوں نے روزِ حساب کو یکسر نظر انداز کر دیا ہے۔

And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in vain; that is the opinion of those who disbelieve; then woe to those who disbelieve on account of the fire.

اور ہم نے آسمان اور زمین اور اس کے درمیان کی مخلوقات کو بیکار نہیں پیدا کیا ہے یہ تو صرف کافروں کا خیال ہے اور کافروں کے لئے جہنّم میں ویل کی منزل ہے۔

Shall We treat those who believe and do good like the mischief-makers in the earth? Or shall We make those who guard (against evil) like the wicked?

کیا ہم ایمان لانے والے اور نیک عمل کرنے والوں کو زمین میں فساد برپا کرنے والوں جیسا قرار دے دیں یا صاحبانِ تقویٰ کو فاسق و فاجر افراد جیسا قرار دے دیں۔

(It is) a Book We have revealed to you abounding in good that they may ponder over its verses, and that those endowed with understanding may be mindful.

یہ ایک مبارک کتاب ہے جسے ہم نے آپ کی طرف نازل کیا ہے تاکہ یہ لوگ اس کی آیتوں میں غور و فکر کریں اور صاحبانِ عقل نصیحت حاصل کریں۔

And We gave to Dawood Sulaiman, most excellent the servant! Surely he was frequent in returning (to Allah).

اور ہم نے داؤدؑ کو سلیمانؑ جیسا فرزند عطا کیا جو بہترین بندہ اور ہماری طرف رجوع کرنے والا تھا۔

When there were brought to him in the evening (horses) still when standing, swift when running-

جب ان کے سامنے شام کے وقت بہترین اصیل گھوڑے پیش کئے گئے۔

Then he said: Surely I preferred the good things to the remembrance of my Lord- until the sun set and time for Asr prayer was over, (he said):

تو انہوں نے کہا کہ میں ذکر خدا کی بنا پر خیر کو دوست رکھتا ہوں یہاں تک کہ وہ گھوڑے دوڑتے دوڑتے نگاہوں سے اوجھل ہو گئے۔

Bring them back to me; so he began to slash (their) legs and necks.

تو انہوں نے کہا کہ اب انہیں واپس پلٹاؤ اس کے بعد ان کی پنڈلیوں اور گردنوں کو ملنا شروع کر دیا۔

And certainly We tried Sulaiman, and We put on his throne a (mere) body, so he turned (to Allah).

اور ہم نے سلیمانؑ کا امتحان لیا جب ان کی کرسی پر ایک بے جان جسم کو ڈال دیا تو پھر انہوں نے خدا کی طرف توجہ کی۔

He said: My Lord! do Thou forgive me and grant me a kingdom which is not fit for (being inherited by) anyone after me; surely Thou art the most liberal Giver.

اور کہا کہ پروردگار مجھے معاف فرما اور ایک ایسا ملک عطا فرما جو میرے بعد کسی کے لئے سزاوار نہ ہو کہ تو بہترین عطا کرنے والا ہے۔

Then We made the wind subservient to him; it made his command to run gently wherever he desired

تو ہم نے ہواؤں کو مُسخّر کر دیا کہ ان ہی کے حکم سے جہاں جانا چاہتے تھے نرم رفتار سے چلتی تھیں۔

And the shaitans, every builder and diver

اور شیاطین میں سے تمام معماروں اور غوطہ خوروں کو تابع بنا دیا۔

And others fettered in chains.

اور ان شیاطین کو بھی جو سرکشی کی بنا پر زنجیروں میں جکڑے ہوئے تھے۔

This is Our free gift, therefore give freely or withhold, without reckoning.

یہ سب میری عطا ہے اب چاہے لوگوں کو دے دو یا اپنے پاس رکھو تم سے حساب نہ ہوگا۔

And most surely he had a nearness to Us and an excellent resort.

اور ان کے لئے ہمارے یہاں تقرّب کا درجہ ہے اور بہترین بازگشت ہے۔

And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment.

اور ہمارے بندے ایوبؑ کو یاد کرو جب انہوں نے اپنے پروردگار کو پکارا کہ شیطان نے مجھے بڑی تکلیف اور اذیت پہنچائی ہے۔

Urge with your foot; here is a cool washing-place and a drink.

تو ہم نے کہا کہ زمین پر پیروں کو رگڑو، دیکھو یہ نہانے اور پینے کے لئے بہترین ٹھنڈا پانی ہے۔

And We gave him his family and the like of them with them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to those possessed of understanding.

اور ہم نے انہیں ان کے اہل و عیال عطا کر دیئے اور اتنے ہی اور بھی دے دئے یہ ہماری رحمت اور صاحبانِ عقل کے لئے عبرت و نصیحت ہے۔

And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with it and do not break your oath; surely We found him patient; most excellent the servant! Surely he was frequent in returning (to Allah).

اور ایوبؑ تم اپنے ہاتھوں میں سینکوں کا مٹھا لے کر اس سے مار دو اور قسم کی خلاف ورزی نہ کرو، ہم نے ایوبؑ کو صابر پایا ہے، وہ بہترین بندہ اور ہماری طرف رجوع کرنے والا ہے۔

And remember Our servants Ibrahim and Ishaq and Yaqoub, men of power and insight.

اور پیغمبر ہمارے بندے ابراہیمؑ، اسحاقؑ اور یعقوبؑ کا ذکر کیجئے جو صاحبانِ قوّت اور صاحبانِ بصیرت تھے۔

Surely We purified them by a pure quality, the keeping in mind of the (final) abode.

ہم نے ان کو آخرت کی یاد کی صفت سے ممتاز قرار دیا تھا۔

And most surely they were with Us, of the elect, the best.

اور وہ ہمارے نزدیک منتخب اور نیک بندوں میں سے تھے۔

And remember Ismail and Al-Yasha and Zulkifl; and they were all of the best.

اور اسماعیلؑ اور الیسعؑ اور ذوالکفلؑ کو بھی یاد کیجئے اور یہ سب نیک بندے تھے۔

This is a reminder; and most surely there is an excellent resort for those who guard (against evil)

یہ ایک نصیحت ہے اور صاحبانِ تقویٰ کے لئے بہترین بازگشت ہے۔

The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them.

ہمیشگی کی جنتیں جن کے دروازے ان کے لئے کھلے ہوئے ہوں گے۔

Reclining therein, calling therein for many fruits and drink.

وہاں تکیہ لگائے چین سے بیٹھے ہوں گے اور طرح طرح کے میوے اور شراب طلب کریں گے۔

And with them shall be those restraining their eyes, equals in age.

اور ان کے پہلو میں نیچی نظر والی ہم سن بیبیاں ہوں گی۔

This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning.

یہ وہ چیزیں ہیں جن کا روزِ قیامت کے لئے تم سے وعدہ کیا گیا ہے۔

Most surely this is Our sustenance; it shall never come to an end;

یہ ہمارا رزق ہے جو ختم ہونے والا نہیں ہے۔

This (shall be so); and most surely there is an evil resort for the inordinate ones;

یہ ایک طرف ہے اور سرکشوں کے لئے بدترین بازگشت ہے۔

Hell; they shall enter it, so evil is the resting-place.

جہنّم ہے جس میں یہ وارد ہوں گے اور وہ بدترین ٹھکانا ہے۔

This (shall be so); so let them taste it, boiling and intensely cold (drink).

یہ ہے عذاب اس کا مزہ چکھیں گرم پانی ہے اور پیپ۔

And other (punishment) of the same kind- of various sorts.

اور اسی قسم کی دوسری چیزیں بھی ہیں۔

This is an army plunging in without consideration along with you; no welcome for them, surely they shall enter fire.

یہ تمہاری فوج ہے اسے بھی تمہارے ہم راہ جہنّم میں ٹھونس دیا جائے گا خدا ان کا بھلا نہ کرے اور یہ سب جہنّم میں جلنے والے ہیں۔

They shall say: Nay! you- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place.

پھر مرید اپنے پیروں سے کہیں گے تمہارا بھلا نہ ہو تم نے اس عذاب کو ہمارے لئے مہیّا کیا ہے لہٰذا یہ بدترین ٹھکانا ہے۔

They shall say: Our Lord! whoever prepared it first for us, add Thou to him a double chastisement in the fire.

پھر مزید کہیں گے کہ خدایا جس نے ہم کو آگے بڑھایا ہے اس کے عذاب کو جہنّم میں دوگنا کر دے۔

And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious?

پھر خود ہی کہیں گے کہ ہمیں کیا ہو گیا ہے کہ ہم ان لوگوں کو نہیں دیکھتے جنہیں شریر لوگوں میں شمار کرتے تھے۔

Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them?

ہم نے ناحق ان کا مذاق اڑایا تھا یا اب ہماری نگاہیں ان کی طرف سے پلٹ گئی ہیں۔

That most surely is the truth: the contending one with another of the inmates of the fire.

یہ اہل جہنّم کا باہمی جھگڑا ایک امر برحق ہے۔

Say: I am only a warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all):

آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ میں تو صرف ڈرانے والا ہوں اور خدائے واحد و قہار کے علاوہ کوئی دوسرا خدا نہیں ہے۔

The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Mighty, the most Forgiving.

وہی آسمان و زمین اور ان کی درمیانی مخلوقات کا پروردگار اور صاحبِ عزّت اور بہت زیادہ بخشنے والا ہے۔

Say: It is a message of importance

کہہ دیجئے کہ یہ قرآن بہت بڑی خبر ہے۔

(And) you are turning aside from it:

تم اس سے اعراض کئے ہوئے ہو۔

I had no knowledge of the exalted chiefs when they contended:

مجھے کیا علم ہوتا کہ عالم بالا میں کیا بحث ہو رہی تھی۔

Naught is revealed to me save that I am a plain warner.

میری طرف تو صرف یہ وحی آتی ہے کہ میں ایک کھلا ہوا عذابِ الہٰی سے ڈرانے والا انسان ہوں۔

When your Lord said to the angels; Surely I am going to create a mortal from dust:

انہیں یاد دلائیے جب آپ کے پروردگار نے ملائکہ سے کہا کہ میں گیلی مٹی سے ایک بشر بنانے والا ہوں۔

So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down making obeisance to him.

جب اسے درست کر لوں اور اس میں اپنی روح پھونک دوں تو تم سب سجدہ میں گر پڑنا۔

And the angels did obeisance, all of them

تو تمام ملائکہ نے سجدہ کر لیا۔

But not Iblis: he was proud and he was one of the unbelievers.

علاوہ ابلیس کے کہ وہ اکڑ گیا اور کافروں میں ہو گیا۔

He said: O Iblis! what prevented you that you should do obeisance to him whom I created with My two hands? Are you proud or are you of the exalted ones?

تو خدا نے کہا اے ابلیس تیرے لئے کیا شے مانع ہوئی کہ تو اسے سجدہ کرے جسے میں نے اپنے دست قدرت سے بنایا ہے تو نے غرور اختیار کیا یا تو واقعًا بلند لوگوں میں سے ہے۔

He said: I am better than he; Thou hast created me of fire, and him Thou didst create of dust.

اس نے کہا کہ میں ان سے بہتر ہوں تو نے مجھے آگ سے پیدا کیا ہے اور انہیں خاک سے پیدا کیا ہے۔

He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away:

ارشاد ہوا کہ یہاں سے نکل جا تو مردود ہے۔

And surely My curse is on you to the day of judgment.

اور یقینًا تیرے اوپر قیامت کے دن تک میری لعنت ہے۔

He said: My Lord! then respite me to the day that they are raised.

اس نے کہا پروردگار مجھے روزِ قیامت تک کی مہلت بھی دے دے۔

He said: Surely you are of the respited ones

ارشاد ہوا کہ تجھے مہلت دے دی گئی ہے۔

Till the period of the time made known.

مگر ایک معیّن وقت کے دن تک۔

He said: Then by Thy Might I will surely make them live an evil life, all

اس نے کہا تو پھر تیری عزّت کی قسم میں سب کو گمراہ کروں گا۔

Except Thy servants from among them, the purified ones.

علاوہ تیرے ان بندوں کے جنہیں تو نے خالص بنا لیا ہے۔

He said: The truth then is and the truth do I speak:

ارشاد ہوا تو پھر حق یہ ہے اور میں تو حق ہی کہتا ہوں۔

That I will most certainly fill hell with you and with those among them who follow you, all.

کہ میں جہنّم کو تجھ سے اور تیرے پیروکاروں سے بھر دوں گا۔

Say: I do not ask you for any reward for it; nor am I of those who affect:

اور پیغمبر آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ میں اپنی تبلیغ کا کوئی اجر نہیں چاہتا اور نہ میں بناوٹ کرنے والا غلط بیان ہوں۔

It is nothing but a reminder to the nations;

یہ قرآن تو عالمین کے لئے ایک نصیحت ہے۔

And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time.

اور کچھ دنوں کے بعد تم سب کو اس کی حقیقت معلوم ہو جائے گی۔

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
