A ziyarat for the seventeenth of Rabi al-Awwal — the date on which the Twelver Shia tradition observes the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s), and on which, in 83 AH, Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a) was also born.

In his book of Zad al-Ma`ad, Allamah Majlisi, within the recommended acts on the 17th of Rabi-ul-Awwal; the Holy Prophet’s birthday, says that Shaykh Mufid, Shaykh Shahid, and Sayyid Ibn Tawus instructed the following. When you intend to visit the Holy Prophet (s) while you are in any place other than the holy city of Madina, you may perform Ghusl (spiritual bath), stand before something like a grave, write the name of the Holy Prophet (s) on it, concentrate heartily on it, and say the following…
یہ ۱۷ ربیع الاول عید میلاد النبیؐ کا دن ہے، علامہ مجلسیؒ نے زادالمعاد میں اس دن کے اعمال میں کہا : شیخ مفیدؒ اور سید ابن طاؤسؒ نے فرمایا ہے : جب اس روز مدینۂ منورہ کے علاوہ کسی اور مقام سے رسول اﷲؐ کی زیارت کرنا چاہے تو غسل کرنے کے بعد مٹی وغیرہ سے قبر جیسی شکل بنائے اور اس پر رسول اﷲؐ کا اسم گرامی لکھے‘ پھر اپنے دل کو آنحضرتؐ کی طرف متوجہ کرکے یہ پڑھے۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهٗ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهٗ وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهٗ وَرَسُوْلُهٗ وَاَنَّهٗ سَيِّدُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ وَالْآخِرِيْنَ وَاَنَّهٗ سَيِّدُ الْاَنْۢبِيَاءِ وَالْمُرْسَلِيْنَ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلٰى اَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الْاَئِمَّةِ الطَّيِّبِيْنَ۔
Ashhadu an laa ilaaha illaa allaahu wahdahoo laa shareeka lahoo wa-ashhadu anna muhammadan 'abduhoo warasooluhoo wa-annahoo sayyidu al-awwaleena wal-aakhireena wa-annahoo sayyidu al-anbiyaa'i wal-mursaleen.
Allaahumma salli 'alayhi wa'alaa ahli baytihi al-a'immati at-tayyibeen.
I bear witness that there is no god save Allah, alone without having any associate, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, that he is the chief of the ancient and the coming generations, and that he is the chief of all Prophets and Messengers. O Allah, send blessings upon him and upon his Household the Immaculate Imams.
میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اﷲکے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں جو یکتا ہے کوئی اس کا شریک نہیں اور گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ محمدؐ اس کے بندےاور رسولؐ ہیں جو اولین وآخرین کے سید و سردار ہیں اوروہ نبیوں اور رسولوں کے بھی سردار ہیں۔اے معبود! ان پر اور ان کے اہل بیتؑ پر رحمت فرما جو پاک و پاکیزہ امامؑ ہیں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
Then recite ziyarat Assalaamo alaika ya khalilallah.
اس کے بعد زیارت اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا خَلِیْلَ اللہِ پڑھے۔
Then recite dua Allahummaj al-Jawaame’a.
پھر اپنے ہاتھ پھیلاکر دُعا اَللّٰھُمَّ اجْعَلْ جَوَامِعَ پڑھے۔
Recite Namaz-e-Ziyarat H.Muhammad (s).
پھر نمازِ زیارت رسول خداؐ پڑھے۔
After Namaz-e-ziyarat recite dua Allahumma innaka qulta le nabiyyeka.
نماز کے بعد دُعا اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّكَ قُلْتَ لِنَبِيِّكَ پڑھے۔
