Slaughtering an animal (Qurbani) in other places (than Mina) is mustahab. If the animal of sacrifice is camel or cow, it must be a female. If it is a ram (lamb) or a goat it must be male. The camel should have entered its 6th year. In cow and goat the precaution is that it should have entered the 3rd year. Sheep must have entered the 2nd year. The sacrificial animal must not have any damaged part. That it must not have a broken horn or cut ear. Sacrifice of castrated animal and ones raised as domestic animals, is detestable (makrooh). At the time of offering the sacrifice, turn the animal face towards Qibla, recite dua Wajjahto Wajheya Lillazee and then slaughter.

جانور کی قربانی دوسری جگہوں پر (منٰی کے علاوہ) مستحب ہے۔ اگر قربانی اونٹ یا گائے کی ہے تو وہ مادہ ہونا چاہیے، اور اگر میمنہ یا بکرے کی ہے تو وہ نر ہونا چاہیے۔ قربانی کے اونٹ کی عمر ۵ سال پورا ہو کر چھٹا سال لگا ہو، گائے یا بکرے کی عمر ۲ سال پورا ہو کر تیسرا سال لگا ہو اور بھیڑ کی عمر ایک سال پورا ہو کر دوسرا سال لگا ہو۔ قربانی کا جانور عیب دار نہیں ہونا چاہیے، یعنی اس کی سینگ ٹوٹی ہوئی نہ ہو اور اس کا کان کٹا ہوا نہ ہو۔ خصی یا پالتو جانور کی قربانی مکروہ ہے۔ قربانی کرتے وقت جانور کا رخ قبلہ کی طرف کرے اور دُعا وَجَّہْتُ وَجْہِیَ لِلَّذِیْ کو پڑھے اور پھر ذبح کرے۔

Perform Ghusl (spiritual bath).

زوال سے پہلے غسل کرنا بھی مستحب ہے۔

It is recommended to break the fasting after offering Namaz Eid and it is recommended to eat from the meat of the sacrificed animals.

بہتر ہے کہ آج کے دن نمازِ عید کے بعد قربانی کے گوشت سے افطار کرے۔
