The Parts of the day has to be divided from the time of the redness of sun till the sunset.
Sayyid bin Taoos writes in his book Al Amaan that: We have said in our book Al Asraar ul Maw deaa fi Sa aatil Layl wan Nahaar that every part of the day is specific for one of our Infallible Imams (a), and every part has two supplications as well. One of which I have narrated from the manuscript of my grandfather Sheikh Tusi, and the other one is narrated from the manuscript associated to Ibn e Maqla. It can be derived from the narrations that each one of our Imams, in the parts which are specific to them, would be the guardians and supporters of the Shias:
سید بزرگوار علی بن طاؤوس کتاب الاسرار المودعة فی ساعات الیل و النھار میں بیان فرماایاہے ہر مخصوص دن میں ایک وقت ائمہ طاہرین میں سے کسی ایک نام کے ساتھ مخصوص ہے اس کے لئے دو قسم کی دعائیں نقل ہوئی ہیں جس نے ان میں ایک میرے جد ابوجعفر کے خط سے اور دوسری کو اس خط سے کہ جو ابن مُقلہ سے منسوب ہے ان کو نقل کیا ہے واضح ہے کہ روایات کے تقاضا کے مطابق ہر ایک بزرگوں کے ساتھ ایک وقت مخصوص ہے۔ شیخ کفعمی نے ہر دن کو بارہ گھڑیوں میں تقسیم کیا ہے اور ان میں سے ہر ایک گھڑی کو بارہ اماموں میں سے ایک کی طرف نسبت دی ہے اور پھر ہر گھڑی کے لئے ایک دعا جو اس امام کے توسل پر مشتل ہے بتائی ہے۔ مصباح میں فرمایا ہے کہ۔۔۔
1st Part is specifically for our master, the leader of the faithful, Imam Ali (a).
پہلی گھڑی صبح صادق سے لیکر سورج نکلنے تک امیرالمومنین علی بن ابی طالبؑ کی طرف منسوب ہے۔
2nd Part is specifically for our master, his holiness, Imam Hasan (a)
دوسری گھڑی سورج نکلنے کے بعد سرخی دور ہونے تک امام حسنؑ کی طرف منسوب ہے۔
3rd Part is specifically for our master, his holiness, Imam Husain (a)
تیسری گھڑی شعاعوں کے پھیلنے سے لے کر تھوڑا سورج بلند ہونے تک امام حسینؑ کی طرف منسوب ہے۔
4th Part is specifically for our master, his holiness, Imam Zainul Abideen (a)
چوتھی گھڑی دن کے بلند ہونے سے لیکدر دن کے ڈھلنے تکا امام زین العابدین علی بن الحسینؑ کی طرف منسوب ہے۔
5th Part is specifically for our master, his holiness, Imam Baqir (a)
پانچویں گھڑی دن کے ڈھلنے سے لے کر چار رکعت نماز کے ادا کرنے کی مقدار تک امام محمد باقرؑ کی طرف منسوب ہے۔
6th Part is specifically for our master, his holiness, Imam Sadiq (a)
چھٹی گھڑی چار رکعت نماز ادا کرنے کی مقدار کے بعد سے لیکر ظہر کی نماز پڑھنے تک امام جعفر صادقؑ کی طرف منسوب ہے۔
7th Part is specifically for our master, his holiness, Imam Kazim (a)
ساتویں گھڑی ظہر کے بعد چار رکعت کی مقدار پہلے تک امام موسیٰ کاظمؑ کی طرف منسوب ہے۔
8th Part is specifically for our master, his holiness, Imam Reza (a)
آٹھویں گھڑی ظہر کے بعد چار رکعت کی مقدار سے لے کر عصر کی نماز تک امام رضاؑ کی طرف منسوب ہے۔
9th Part is specifically for our master, his holiness, Imam Taqi (a)
نویں گھڑی عصر کی نماز سے لیکر دو گھڑی بعد تک امام محمد تقیؑ کی طرف منسوب ہے۔
10th Part is specifically for our master, his holiness, Imam Naqi (a)
دسویں گھڑی عصر کی نماز کے بعد دو گھڑیوں کے بعد سے لے کر سورج کی زردی مائل ہونے سے پہلے تک امام علی نقیؑ کی طرف منسوب ہے۔
11th Part is specifically for our master, his holiness, Imam Hasan Askari (a)
گیارہویں گھڑی سورج کے زردی مائل ہونے سے پہلے سے لے کر زردی مائل ہونے تک امام حسن عسکریؑ کی طرف منسوب ہے۔
12th Part is specifically for twelfth Imam, his holiness, Imam Mahdi (a).
بارہویں گھڑی سورج کے زردی مائل ہونے سے لے کر سورج کے غروب ہونے تک امام صاحب العصرؑ کی طرف منسوب ہے۔
A person should recite the specific supplication of the day in each one of the aforementioned twelve parts, irrespective of the day being a lengthy summer day or a short winter one, because it can be understood from the narrations that whatever may be the extent of the day, it should be divided into twelve parts and its specific supplications are also in twelve parts. Therefore, whenever a person decides to go on a journey, while travelling in any of the twelve partss which are decided (and that part is specific for one of the noble Imams who are regarded by Allah as his supporter and the source of his deliverance), he should recite the following supplication…
ان تمام اوقات میں مخصوص دعائیں ہر ایک اہلبیت سے پڑھتے ہیں اس وقت میں فرق نہیں پڑھتاہے گرمی کے اوقات ہوں کہ مکمل بارہ گھنٹے ہوتے ہیں یا سردی کے اوقات ہوں کے دن چھوٹے ہوتے ہیں چونکہ ہر روز کی مقدار جس مقدار میں بھی ہو بارہ گھنٹوں میں تقسیم ہوگا یہ بھی روایات سے استفادہ ہوتاہے۔ اس بناء پر جس زمانے میں سفر کرنا چاہیے اور تمہاری اس سفر اماموں میں سے کسی ایک کے ساتھ اچانک ملاقات ہو وہ امام جو کہ بشریت کے حامی ہیں خداوند نے ان کو ہلاکت سے نجات کا سبب قرار دیا ہے اس دعا کوپڑھ لیں۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem auto
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
Translator's note: (here take the name of Imam in which part of the day you are reciting. / yahan par us Imam ka naam le jis din ke hisse mein aap padh rahe ho)
اَللّٰهُمَّ بَلِّغْ مُوْلَانَا فُلَانًا صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَیْهِ اِنَّنِیْ اُسَلِّمُ عَلَیْهِ، وَاِنَّنِیْ اَتَوَجَّهٗ اِلَیْهِ بِاِقْبَالِكَ عَلَیْهِ، فِیْ اَنْ یَكُوْنَ خَفَارَتِیْ وَحِمَایَتِیْ وَسَلَامَتِیْ وَكَمَالُ سَعَادَتِیْ ضِمَانَهَا بِكَ عَلَیْهِ، حَیْثُ قَدْ تَوَجَّهْتُ فِیْ السَّاعَۃِ الَّتِیْ جَعَلْتَهٗ كَالْخَفِیْرِ فِیْهَا وَحَدِیْثَهَا فِیْ ذَالِكَ اِلَیْهِ۔
Allaahumma balligh moolaanaa fulaanan salawaatu allaahi 'alayhi innanee usallimu 'alayhi, wa-innanee atawajjahoo ilayhi bi-iqbaalika 'alayhi, fee an yakoona khafaaratee wahimaayatee wasalaamatee wakamaalu sa'aadatee dimaanahaa bika 'alayhi, haythu qad tawajjahtu fee as-saa'ati allatee ja'altahoo kal-khafeeri feehaa wahadeethahaa fee zaalika ilayh. auto
O Allah, send this news to my master (take the name of the Imam who is specific to the part) may Allah bless him- that certainly I send peace upon him, and that I turn towards him because You turn towards him, so that with Your guarantee for him, he takes me in his support and shelter and refuge, making complete happiness and good-fortune as my destiny, because I have commenced my work in the hour in which his holiness is the guardian and provides protection.
اے اللہ! ہمارے مولا فلاں (جن پر اللہ کی رحمتیں ہوں) تک میرا سلام پہنچا دے، کیونکہ میں انہیں سلام پیش کرتا ہوں، اور میں ان کی طرف تیری عنایت اور توجہ کے وسیلے سے متوجہ ہوتا ہوں۔ اس نیت سے کہ وہ میری نگہبانی، میری حفاظت، میری سلامتی، اور میری کامل سعادت کے ضامن ہوں، اور یہ ضمانت تیری جانب سے ان کے سپرد ہو۔ کیونکہ میں نے اسی گھڑی ان کی طرف رخ کیا ہے جس گھڑی تو نے انہیں نگہبان کی طرح مقرر فرمایا ہے، اور اسی معاملے میں میرا کہنا اور توجہ انہی کی طرف ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad. auto
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
It seems appropriate that whenever one reaches a certain stoppage midway, he should recite the supplication of that part. Similarly, upon moving from the stoppage, one should greet the Imam with whom that part is associated, so that his spirit attains more familiarity with that Imam, and he can regard that Imam as his guarantor in order to avoid the occurrence of any mishap in that part. If the Almighty Allah had not intended this deed from you, he wouldn’t have taught us these points. Moreover, by performing this deed, the entire journey of a person will be counted as an act of worship and will be treasured for the afterworld.
سید بزرگوار علی بن طاؤوس نے کلام کو جاری رکھتے ہوئے فرمایا ہے: بدیھی ہے پورے سفر میں ہر وقت کہ جو وقت مخصوص ہے اماموں کے ساتھ جس منزل میں بھی اتریں یا جس جگہ سے کوچ کریں جو وقت امام کے ساتھ مخصوص ہے سلام کریں تا کہ اس کے نزدیک مقرب ہوجائیں اور اس سے خطاب کریں تا کہ ان اوقات میں اس کی ضمانت میں ہو اگر خداوند اس کے علاوہ چاہتا تو ہمیں ان دعاؤں کی طرف رہنمائی نہ کرتا اس بناء پر خدا تمہاری ہدایت کرے اور ان کے حکم کے مطابق عمل کریں تو تمہاری تمام حرکات اور سکنات اس سفر میں عبادت شمار ہونگی اور آخرت میں تمہارے لئے باعث سعادت ہونگی۔
