بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اِلٰهِیْ غَارَتْ نُجُوْمُ سَمَآئِكَ وَنَامَتْ عُیُوْنُ اَنَامِكَ وَهَدَاَتْ اَصْوَاتُ عِبَادِكَ وَاَنْعَامِكَ وَغَلَّقَتِ الْمُلُوْكُ عَلَیْهَا اَبْوَابَهَا وَطَافَ عَلَیْهَا حُرَّاسُهَا وَاحْتَجَبُوْا عَمَّنْ یَّسْئَلُهُمْ حَاجَۃً اَوْ یَنْتَجِعُ مِنْهُمْ فَآئِدَۃً وَاَنْتَ اِلٰهِیْ حَیٌّ قَیُّوْمٌ لَا تَاخُذُكَ سِنَۃٌ وَّلَا نَوْمٌ وَلَا یَشْغَلُكَ شَیْءٌ عَنْ شَیْءٍ اَبْوَابُ سَمَآئِكَ لِمَنْ دَعَاكَ مُفَتَّحَاتٌ وَخَزَآئِنُكَ غَیْرُ مُغَلَّقَاتٍ وَاَبْوَابُ رَحْمَتِكَ غَیْرُ مَحْجُوْبَاتٍ وَفَوَآئِدُكَ لِمَنْ سَاَلَكَ غَیْرُ مَحْظُوْرَاتٍ بَلْ هِیَ مَبْذُوْلَاتٌ۔
اَنْتَ اِلٰهِیْ اَلْكَرِیْمُ الَّذِیْ لَا تَرُدُّ سَآئِلًا مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ سَاَلَكَ وَلَا تَحْتَجِبُ عَنْ اَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ اَرَادَكَ لَا وَعِزَّتِكَ وَجَلَالِكَ وَلَا تُخْتَزَلُ حَوَآئِجُهُمْ دُوْنَكَ وَلَا یَقْضِیْهَا اَحَدٌ غَیْرُكَ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَقَدْ تَرَانِیْ وَ وُقُوْفِیْ وَذُلَّ مَقَامِیْ بَیْنَ یَدَیْكَ وَتَعْلَمُ سَرِیْرَتِیْ وَتَطَّلِعُ عَلٰی مَا فِیْ قَلْبِیْ وَمَا یَصْلُحُ بِهٖ اَمْرُ آخِرَتِیْ وَدُنْیَایَ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ ذِكْرَ الْمَوْتِ وَاَهْوَالِ الْمُطَّلِعِ وَالْوُقُوْفَ بَیْنَ یَدَیْكَ نَغَّصَنِیْ مَطْعَمِیْ وَمَشْرَبِیْ وَاَغَصَّنِیْ بِرِیْقِیْ اَقْلَقَنِیْ عَنْ وِسَادِیْ وَمَنَعَنِیْ رُقَادِیْ كَیْفَ یَنَامُ مَن یَّخَافُ مَلَكَ الْمَوْتِ فِیْ طَوَارِقِ اللَّیْلِ وَطَوَارِقِ النَّهَارِ بَلْ كَیْفَ یَنَامُ الْعَاقِلُ وَمَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ لَا یَنَامُ لَا بِاللَّیْلِ وَلَا بِالنَّهَارِ وَیَطْلُبُ رُوْحَهُ بِالْبَیَاتِ وَفِیْ آنَآءِ السَّاعَاتِ اَسْئَلُكَ الرَّوْحَ وَالرَّاحَۃَ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ وَالْعَفْوَ عَنِّیْ حِیْنَ اَلْقَاكَ۔
Ilaahee ghaarat nujoomu samaa'ika wanaamat 'uyoonu anaamika wahada'at aswaatu 'ibaadika wa-an'aamika waghallaqati al-mulooku 'alayhaa abwaabahaa wataafa 'alayhaa hurraasuhaa wahtajaboo 'amman yas'aluhum haajatan aw yantaji'u minhum faa'idatan wa-anta ilaahee hayyun qayyoomun laa taakhuzuka sinatun walaa nawmun walaa yashghaluka shay'un 'an shay'in abwaabu samaa'ika liman da'aaka mufattahaatun wakhazaa'inuka ghayru mughallaqaatin wa-abwaabu rahmatika ghayru mahjoobaatin wafawaa'iduka liman sa'alaka ghayru mahzooraatin bal hiya mabzoolaat.
Anta ilaahee al-kareemu allazee laa taruddu saa'ilan mina al-mu'mineena sa'alaka walaa tahtajibu 'an ahadin minhum araadaka laa wa'izzatika wajalaalika walaa tukhtazalu hawaa'ijuhum doonaka walaa yaqdeehaa ahadun ghayruk.
Allaahumma waqad taraanee wa wuqoofee wazulla maqaamee bayna yadayka wata'lamu sareeratee watattali'u 'alaa maa fee qalbee wamaa yasluhu bihee amru aakhiratee wadunyaa.
Allaahumma inna zikra al-mawti wa-ahwaali al-muttali'i wal-wuqoofa bayna yadayka naghghasanee mat'amee wamashrabee wa-aghassanee bireeqee aqlaqanee 'an wisaadee wamana'anee ruqaadee kayfa yanaamu man yakhaafu malaka al-mawti fee tawaariqi al-layli watawaariqi an-nahaari bal kayfa yanaamu al-'aaqilu wamalaku al-mawti laa yanaamu laa bil-layli walaa bin-nahaari wayatlubu roohahu bil-bayaati wafee aanaa'i as-saa'aati as'aluka ar-rawha war-raahata 'inda al-mawti wal-'afwa 'annee heena al-qaak.
O Allah bless Muhammad and his family. My God, the stars of Your sky have sunk and the eyes of Your people are sleeping and the voices of Your servants and Your animals have become silent and the kings have locked their doors and its guards are moving around it and they are covered from he who wishes to ask them for a need or to get a benefit from them. But You my God, are Ever Living, Subsistent, slumber or sleep does not overtake you and one thing does not occupy You from another; the doors of Your sky are open for he who asks You and Your treasures are never locked and the doors of Your mercy are never covered and Your benefits are never forbidden for he who asks You rather they are given generously. You are my God, the Generous who does not turn away a beseecher who asks from You and You do not conceal Yourself from anyone of the believers who intends You no, by Your honor and Your Majesty no one removes their needs other than You and no one fulfills their needs apart from You. O Allah You see me, and my standing (before You) and my humble position in front of You and You know my secrets and are aware of what is in my heart and of what will improve my affairs of the Hereafter and the world. O Allah, the remembrance of death and the frightening conditions of the observer and standing before You makes me stay away from my food and drink and makes me choke, keeps me away from my pillow and prevents me from sleeping. How can one sleep who fears the angel of death? in the calamities of the night and the calamities of the day rather how can an intelligent person sleep while the angel of death does not sleep neither at night nor in the day and seeks his soul in the state of sleep and in the middle of the hours. I beseech You to give me ease and comfort at the time of death and forgiveness when I meet You.
اے میرے اللہ! تیرے آسمان کے ستارے ڈوب گئے ہیں، لوگ سو چکے ہیں، تیرے بندوں اور جانوروں کی آوازیں بھی خاموش ہو گئی ہیں۔ بادشاہوں نے اپنے دروازے بند کر لیے ہیں، پہرے دار ان کے گرد گھوم رہے ہیں، اور وہ لوگوں سے پردہ کر لیتے ہیں کوئی ان سے حاجت مانگے یا فائدہ چاہے تو بھی وہ قریب نہیں آنے دیتے۔ مگر اے میرے اللہ! تو زندہ ہے، ہمیشہ قائم رہنے والا ہے؛ تجھے نہ اونگھ آتی ہے نہ نیند، اور کوئی کام تجھے دوسرے کام سے غافل نہیں کرتا۔ جو تجھے پکارتا ہے اس کے لیے تیرے آسمان کے دروازے کھلے ہیں، تیرے خزانے بند نہیں ہوتے، تیری رحمت کے دروازے پردے میں نہیں، اور جو تجھ سے مانگے اس کے لیے تیرے عطیے روکے نہیں جاتے بلکہ کھلے ہوئے ہیں۔ اے میرے اللہ! تو وہ کریم رب ہے جو مومن سائل کو خالی نہیں لوٹاتا، اور جو تجھے چاہے تو تو اس سے اوجھل نہیں ہوتا۔ تیری عزت و جلال کی قسم! لوگوں کی حاجتیں تیرے سوا کہیں پوری نہیں ہوتیں، اور تیرے علاوہ کوئی انہیں پورا نہیں کر سکتا۔ اے اللہ! تو مجھے دیکھ رہا ہے کہ میں تیرے سامنے نہایت عاجزی کے ساتھ کھڑا ہوں۔ تو میرے دل کے راز جانتا ہے، میرے باطن سے واقف ہے، اور تو جانتا ہے کہ میری دنیا اور آخرت کی بھلائی کس میں ہے۔ اے اللہ! موت کی یاد، قبر کے مراحل کی سختی، اور تیرے حضور کھڑے ہونے کا خیال، میرے کھانے پینے کا لطف ختم کر دیا، میرے گلے میں گھٹک پیدا کر دی، مجھے بےچین کر دیا، اور میری نیند اُڑا دی۔ وہ کیسے سو سکتا ہے جو رات دن آنے والے ملکُ الموت سے ڈرتا ہو؟ بلکہ عقل والا کیسے سوئے، جبکہ ملکُ الموت نہ رات کو سوتا ہے نہ دن کو، اور اچانک وقتوں میں روح لینے کے لیے آتا رہتا ہے؟ پس اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں کہ موت کے وقت مجھے راحت اور سکون عطا فرما، اور جب میں تجھ سے ملاقات کروں تو مجھے معاف فرما دینا۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
Imam Ali's Midnight Dua Ilaahee Kam Min Moobe-qatan
امام علیؑ کی یہ دعا نصف شب کے لئے ہے اِلٰهِیْ كَمْ مِنْ مُوْبِقَۃٍ
