امام جعفر صادقؑ سے منقول ہے کہ جو شخص آغاز شب کے وقت ذیل کے کلمات ۳ مرتبہ پڑھے تو جبرائیلؑ کے پروں میں سے ایک پر میں پوشیدہ رہیگا یہاں تک کہ صبح ہوجائے گی۔۔۔
اَسْتَوْدِعُ اللهَ الْعَلِىَّ الْاَعْلَى الْجَلِيْلَ الْعَظِيْمَ نَفْسِىْ وَمَنْ يَعْنِيْنِىْ اَمْرُهٗ اَسْتَوْدِعُ اللهَ نَفْسِىَ الْمَرْهُوْبَ الْمَخُوْفَ الْمُتَضَعْضَعَ لِعَظَمَتِهٖ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ۔
Astawdi'u allaaha al-'aliyya al-a'laa al-jaleela al-'azeema nafsee waman ya'neenee amruhoo astawdi'u allaaha nafsiya al-marhooba al-makhoofa al-mutada'da'a li'azamatihee kullu shay'.
I entrust with Allah the Most High, the All-high, the All-majestic, and the All-great myself and whatever concerns me. I entrust myself with Allah the feared, the dreaded, and to Whose greatness all things submit.
میں اپنے آپ کو اور جن کے امور کی طرف میری تو جہ ہے ان کو خدا ئے بلند تر اور صاحب جلالت کے سپرد کرتا ہوں میں اپنے نفس کو اس خدا کے سپرد کرتا ہوں جو قابلِ خوف و ہیبت ہے، جس کی عظمت کے سامنے ہر چیزڈرتی کانپتی ہے۔
