Mobasshir bin Abdul Aziz narrates: I was available in the service of Imam Sadiq (a) when one of his Shias arrived and said: My life be sacrificed on you! I am destitute and in need. Imam Sadiq (a) said: Wait until the arrival of Wednesday, keep fast on that day, then on the days of Thursday and Friday. On Friday, at the time of Zuhr, go to the terrace of your house, or towards a desert, such that you are not sighted by anyone, then perform the Ziyarat of the Holy Prophet (s); then offer two-unit prayer in that same place. Then sit in such a position that your leg touches the ground, then while facing the Qibla, place your right hand on the left hand and raise it towards the sky, then say…
مبشر بن عبد العزیز کہتے ہیں: حضرت امام صادقؑ کی خدمت میں حاضر تھا کہ اتنے میں ہمارے اصحاب میں سے ایک آیا اور کہنے لگا: آپ پر قربان جاؤں، میں فقیر ہوں کیا کروں؟ حضرت نے اس سے فرمایا: روز چارشنبہ(بدھ)، پانچشنبہ (جمعرات) اور جمعہ یہ ۳ دن روزہ رکھو اور روز جمعہ ظہر کے وقت اپنے گھر کی چھت سے یا ایسے بیابان میں جہاں تمہیں کوئی نہ دیکھ سکے، رسول خداؐ کی زیارت پڑھو اور پھر ۲ رکعت نماز ادا کرو، پھر دونوں زانؤوں کے بل بیٹھ جاؤ اس طرح کی زانو زمین سے لگے ہوئے ہوں اور قبلہ رخ ہو کر داہنے ہاتھ کو بائیں ہاتھ پر رکھو اور کہو۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ اَنْتَ، اِنْقَطَعَ الرَّجَائُ اِلَّا مِنْكَ، وَخَابَتِ الْآمَالُ اِلَّا فِیْكَ، یَا ثِقَۃَ مَنْ لَا ثِقَۃَ لَهٗ، لَا ثِقَۃَ لِیْ غَیْرُكَ، اِجْعَلْ مِنْ اَمْرِیْ فَرَجًا، وَارْزُقْنِیْ مِنْ حَیْثُ اَحْتَسِبُ، وَمِنْ حَیْثُ لَا اَحْتَسِبُ۔
Allaahumma anta anta, inqata'a ar-rajaa'u illaa minka, wakhaabati al-aamaalu illaa feeka, yaa thiqata man laa thiqata lahoo, laa thiqata lee ghayruka, ij'al min amree farajan, warzuqnee min haythu ahtasibu, wamin haythu laa ahtasib.
O Allah! You are You, all hopes have disconnected except You, all the desires were disappointed except in You, O Reliable for those who have no reliance, I have no reliance other than You, provide me with relief and ease of exit in my affair, and give me sustenance from where I reckon, and from where I don’t even reckon.
اے اللہ! تو ہی تو ہے۔ تیرے سوا (کسی سے) امید کا رشتہ کٹ چکا ہے، اور تیرے سوا (کسی میں) آرزوئیں ناکام ہو چکی ہیں۔ اے اُس کے بھروسے! جس کا کوئی بھروسہ نہیں میرے لیے تیرے سوا کوئی بھروسہ نہیں۔ میرے معاملے میں کشادگی/فرج پیدا فرما، اور مجھے وہاں سے رزق عطا فرما جہاں سے میں گمان کرتا ہوں، اور وہاں سے بھی جہاں سے میں گمان نہیں کرتا۔
Then prostrate on the ground and say…
پھر سر کو سجدہ میں رکھو اور کہو۔۔۔
یَا مُغِیْثُ، اِجْعَلْ لِیْ رِزْقًا مِنْ فَضْلِكَ۔
Yaa mugheethu, ij'al lee rizqan min fadlik.
O Helper! Provide me with sustenance from Your Grace.
اے فریاد رَس (مددگار)! اپنے فضل سے میرے لیے رزق مقرر فرما / عطا فرما۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
Then you will be provided with your sustenance and livelihood before the sunrise on Saturday. Ahmad bin Mabindaz, the narrator of this Hadith, says: I asked Abu Ja'far Mohammad bin Othman bin Saeed Amri that if someone wishes to offer this prayer and supplication for sustenance but doesn’t live in the city of Medina, what should he do? He said: Perform the Ziyarat of my Master and Leader, Prophet Mohammad (s), in the shrine of the Imam of his city or land, near the grave of that Imam. I asked: If there isn’t any grave of the holy Imams in his city, what shall he do? He said: He should visit one of the righteous and chosen believers, then go towards the desert and perform that which has been commanded in the Ziyarat in the right portion of the desert. If Allah wills, this action will result in his prosperity and success.
اگر اس عمل کو انجام دو تو ابھی روز شنبہ (ہفتہ) نہ آئیگا کہ تمہاری نئی روزی آجائے گی۔ احمد بن مابنداذ (اس حدیث کے راوی) کہتے ہیں: محمد بن عثمان بن سعید عمری سے کہا: جو روزی کے لئے دعا کرنا چاہتا ہو اگر شہر مدینہ میں نہ ہو تو کیا کرے؟ فرمایا: جس امامؑ کا حرم اس شہر میں ہو اس میں جائے اور حضرتؑ کے سرہانے ہمارے سید و سردار رسول خداؐ کی زیارت کرے۔ ہم نے عرض کیا: اگر خود اس کے شہر میں کسی امام کا مرقد نہ ہو تو کیا کرے؟ فرمایا: صلحاء اور برگزیدہ افراد میں سے کسی ایک کی زیارت کرے اور صحرا میں جائے اور صحرا کے داہنی طرف ہم نے جو کہا اس کو انجام دے انشاء اللہ اس کی حاجت پوری ہوگی۔
