Place of Aadam (a)

مقامِ آدم (ع)

1. Be it known to you that the narrations carrying the merits of the 7th column in Masjid-e-Kufa are numerous. For instance, Kulayni has reported through an authoritative chain of authority that Imam Ali (a) used to offer prayers next to the 7th column and the distance between him and this column was so close that one could hardly pass from there.

   جاننا چاہیے کہ اس مقام کی فضیلت میں بہت سی احادیث وارد ہوئی ہیں، شیخ کلینیؒ نے معتبر سند کے ساتھ روایت کی ہے : امیر المومنینؑ اسی ستون کے قریب نماز پڑھتے تھے جب کہ اس ستون اور آپ کے درمیان اتنا کم فاصلہ ہوتا کہ جس میں سے بمشکل بکری گذر سکتی تھی۔

2. According to another validly reported narration, each night 60000 angels descend from the heavens to offer prayer at the 7th column and none of them returns until the Resurrection Day. According to another validly reported tradition, Imam Sadiq (a) has said, “The 7th column is the standing-place of Prophet Abraham (a).”

   دوسری معتبر روایتوں میں آیا ہے : ہر رات ساٹھ ہزار فرشتے آسمان سے آتے ہیں اور ساتویں ستون کے نزدیک نماز ادا کرتے ہیں اور اس سے اگلی رات اتنی ہی تعداد میں اور فرشتے آتے ہیں اس طرح جو فرشتے یہاں ایک بار آچکے ہوں وہ قیامت تک دوبارہ اس جگہ نہیں آئیں گے۔

3. In his book of Kafi, Shaykh Kulayni has also narrated that Abu-Ismail Sarraj reported that Mu’awiyah ibn Wahab took him from the arm to the 7th column and said that Abu-Hamzah Thumali had taken him from the arm to this 7th column and said that Asbagh ibn Nubatah had taken him from the arm to this 7th column and said, “This is the place where Imam Ali (a) used to be. Imam Hasan (a) used to offer prayers at the 5th column, but when Imam Ali (a) would be absent, Imam Hasan (a) would take his place at the 7th column, which is at Baab-e-Kindah (Gate of Kindah).”

   ایک معتبر روایت میں امام جعفر صادقؑ سے نقل ہوا ہے : ساتواں ستون حضرت ابراہیمؑ کا مقام ہے۔نیز شیخ کلینیؒ نے کافی میں صحیح سند کے ساتھ ابی اسماعیل سراج سے روایت کی ہے کہ اس نے کہا :میرا ہاتھ معاویہ ابن وہب نے پکڑا،اس نے کہا :میرا ہاتھ ابو حمزہ ثمالی نے پکڑا اور اس نے کہا: میرا ہاتھ اصبغ ابن نباتہ نے پکڑا اور مجھے ساتواں ستون دکھلایا اور کہا : یہ ستون حضرت امیر المومنینؑ کا مقام ہے کہ اس کے قریب آپ نماز پڑھا کرتے تھے۔ نیز حضرت امام حسنؑ پانچویں ستون کے نزدیک نماز پڑھتے تھے جب حضرت امیر المومنینؑ موجود نہ ہوتے تھے اس وقت حضرت امام حسنؑ وہاں نماز پڑھا کرتے تھے۔ اس جگہ کا نام باب کندہ ہے، مختصر یہ کہ اس کی فضیلت میں بہت سی روایات ہیں اور ہم نے ان میں سے چند کے ذکر پر ہی اکتفا کیا ہے۔

4. The 7th column is the place where Almighty Allah guided Prophet Adam to ask for repentance. Hence, you may walk to this place, stop there, face the qiblah direction, and recite dua Bismillahe…wa alaa millate.

   یہ وہی جگہ ہے جہاں خدائے تعالیٰ نے حضرت آدمؑ کو توبہ کی توفیق عنایت فرمائی تھی اس مقام پر قبلہ رخ کھڑے ہو کر دعا بِسْمِ اللہِ۔۔۔ وَعَلٰی مِلَّۃِ پڑھے۔

5. Then recite 4 rakat prayer in form of 2 rakats each. In the 1st rakat after Surah Fateha recite Surah Qadr, in the 2nd rakat after Surah Fateha recite Surah Ikhlaas, 3rd and 4th rakat should also be prayed in the same way. After Tasbeeh-e-Zahra (s) recite dua Allahumma in kunto qad.

   پھر اس ستون کے پاس ۴ رکعت نماز دو دو رکعت کرکے بجا لائے اس طرح کہ پہلی رکعت میں سورۂ فاتحہ کے بعد سورۂ قدر اور دوسری رکعت میں سورۂ فاتحہ کے بعد سورۂ اخلاص پڑھے اور دوسری دو رکعت بھی اسی طرح بجالائے اسی کے بعد تسبیح حضرت فاطمہ زہراءؑ کا ورد کرے اور اس کے بعد دعا اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنْ كُنْتُ قَدْ کو پڑھے۔

6. Then the author of Mazaar-e-Qadeem says, before going to Sajdah read the dua of Sahifa-e-Sajjadiya-7 (dua at the time of difficulties). He also says that after this dua, recite…

   مؤلف کہتے ہیں: صاحبِ مزار قدیم فرماتے ہیں اس کے بعد اور سجدے میں جانے سے پہلے صحیفۂ سجادیہ دعا -۷ پڑھے اور اس کے بعد یہ کہے۔۔۔

7. بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

   BISMI ALLAAHI AR-RAHMAANI AR-RAHEEM

   In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

   اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

8. اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ وَلَا اَعْلَمُ وَتَقْدِرُ وَلَا اَقْدِرُ وَاَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُیُوْبِ صَلِّ اَللّٰهُمَّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاغْفِرْ لِیْ وَارْحَمْنِیْ وَتَجَاوَزْ عَنِّیْ وَتَصَدَّقْ عَلَیَّ مَآ اَنْتَ اَهْلُهٗ یَآ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ۔

   ALLAAHUMMA INNAKA TA'LAMU WALAA A'LAMU WATAQDIRU WALAA AQDIRU WA-ANTA 'ALLAAMU AL-GHUYOOBI SALLI ALLAAHUMMA 'ALAA MUHAMMADIN WA-AALI MUHAMMADIN WAGHFIR LEE WARHAMNEE WATAJAAWAZ 'ANNEE WATASADDAQ 'ALAYYA MAA ANTA AHLUHOO YAA ARHAMA AR-RAAHIMEEN.

   O Allah, You verily know while I do not, You have power (over all things) while I do not, and You are the Knower of all unseen things. (Please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, forgive me, have mercy upon me, overlook my sins, and confer upon me with that which is befitting You, O most merciful of all those who show mercy.

   اے معبود! بے شک تو جانتا ہے اور میں نہیں جانتا تو قدرت رکھتا ہے اور میں نہیں رکھتا اور تو تمام چھپی باتوں کو جانتا ہے رحمت فرما اے معبود! محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر اور مجھے بخش دے مجھ پر رحم کر مجھے معافی عطا فرما اور مجھے اتنا دے جو تیرے شایانِ شان ہو اے سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے۔

9. اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔

   ALLAAHUMMA SALLI 'ALAA MUHAMMADIN WA-AALI MUHAMMAD.

   O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.

   اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔

10. Now go into the Sajdah and say…

    پھر سجدے میں جائے اور اسی حالت میں کہے۔۔۔

11. بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

    BISMI ALLAAHI AR-RAHMAANI AR-RAHEEM

    In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

    اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

12. یَا مَنْ یَّقْدِرُ عَلٰی حَوَآئِجِ السَّآئِلِیْنَ وَیَعْلَمُ مَا فِیْ ضَمِیْرِ الصَّامِتِیْنَ یَا مَنْ لَا یَحْتَاجُ اِلَی التَّفْسِیْرِ یَا مَنْ یَعْلَمُ خَائِنَۃَ الْاَعْیُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِیْ الصُّدُوْرُ یَا مَنْ اَنْزَلَ الْعَذَابَ عَلٰی قَوْمِ یُوْنُسَ وَهُوَ یُرِیْدُ اَنْ یُّعَذِّبَھُمْ فَدَعَوْهُ وَتَضَرَّعُوْا اِلَیْهِ فَكَشَفَ عَنْھُمُ الْعَذَابَ وَمَتَّعَھُمْ اِلٰی حِیْنٍ قَدْ تَرٰی مَكَانِیْ وَتَسْمَعُ دُعَآئِیْ وَتَعْلَمُ سِرِّیْ وَعَلَانِیَتِیْ وَحَالِیْ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاكْفِنِیْ مَا اَھَمَّنِیْ مِنْ اَمْرِ دِیْنِیْ وَدُنْیَایَ وَاٰخِرَتِیْ۔

    YAA MAN YAQDIRU 'ALAA HAWAA'IJI AS-SAA'ILEENA WAYA'LAMU MAA FEE DAMEERI AS-SAAMITEENA YAA MAN LAA YAHTAAJU ILAA AT-TAFSEERI YAA MAN YA'LAMU KHAA'INATA AL-A'YUNI WAMAA TUKHFEE AS-SUDOORU YAA MAN ANZALA AL-'AZAABA 'ALAA QAWMI YOONUSA WAHUWA YUREEDU AN YU'AZZIBAHUM FADA'AWHU WATADARRA'OO ILAYHI FAKASHAFA 'ANHUMU AL-'AZAABA WAMATTA'AHUM ILAA HEENIN QAD TARAA MAKAANEE WATASMA'U DU'AA'EE WATA'LAMU SIRREE WA'ALAANIYATEE WAHAALEE SALLI 'ALAA MUHAMMADIN WA-AALI MUHAMMADIN WAKFINEE MAA AHAMMANEE MIN AMRI DEENEE WADUNYAAYA WA-AAKHIRATEE.

    O He Who has full power over settling requests of beseechers Who knows what is hidden in the inner selves of the silent O He Who does not require explanation. O He Who knows the stealthy looks and that which the breasts conceal. O He Who sent down chastisement upon the people of (Prophet) Jonah, intending to chastise them, and they prayed to Him and besought Him; so, He removed from them the chastisement and He gave them provision until a time. You do see where I am, You do hear my prayer, You do know what I conceal, what I declare, and in what situation I am: (please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, and relieve me from all that which has aggrieved me from the affairs of my religion, my worldly life, and my Next Life.

    اے وہ جو مانگنے والوں کی حاجت پر قادر ہے اور خاموش رہنے والوں کے مدعا کو جانتا ہے اے وہ جسے تفصیل کی کچھ حاجت نہیں اے وہ جو آنکھوں کی خیانت کو اور دلوں کی باتوں کو جانتا ہے اے وہ جس نے قومِ یونسؑ کے لئے عذاب آمادہ کیا اور وہ ان پر عذاب نازل کرنا چاہتا تھا پس انہوں نے اسے پکارا اور گریہ و زاری کی تو اس نے ان پر سے عذاب ٹال دیا اور انہیں کچھ مدت تک زندگی دی تو مجھے کھڑا دیکھ رہا ہے میری پکار سن رہا ہے میرے اندر باہر کو اور میرے حالات کو جانتا ہے محمدؐ وآل محمدؑ پر رحمت فرما اور میری مدد کر ان مشکلوں میں جو مجھے دین و دنیا اور آخرت میں در پیش ہیں۔

13. اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔

    ALLAAHUMMA SALLI 'ALAA MUHAMMADIN WA-AALI MUHAMMAD.

    O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.

    اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔

14. Then repeat 70 times…

    پھر ۷۰ مرتبہ کہے۔۔۔

15. یَا سَیِّدِیْ۔

    YAA SAYYIDEE.

    O my Master.

    اے میرے مولا!

16. Sit up after the Sajdah and say…

    اس کے بعد سجدے سے سر اُٹھاکر کہے۔۔۔

17. بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

    BISMI ALLAAHI AR-RAHMAANI AR-RAHEEM

    In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

    اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

18. یَا رَبِّ اَسْئَلُكَ بَرَكَۃَ ھٰذَا الْمَوْضِعِ وَبَرَكَۃَ اَھْلِهٖ وَاَسْئَلُكَ اَنْ تَرْزُقَنِیْ مِنْ رِزْقِكَ رِزْقًا حَلَالًا طَیِّبًا تَسُوْقُهٗ اِلَیَّ بِحَوْلِكَ وَقُوَّتِكَ وَاَنَا خَآئِضٌ فِیْ عَافِیَۃٍ یَّآ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ۔

    YAA RABBI AS'ALUKA BARAKATA HAAZAA AL-MAWDI'I WABARAKATA AHLIHEE WA-AS'ALUKA AN TARZUQANEE MIN RIZQIKA RIZQAN HALAALAN TAYYIBAN TASOOQUHOO ILAYYA BIHAWLIKA WAQUWWATIKA WA-ANAA KHAA'IDUN FEE 'AAFIYATIN YAA ARHAMA AR-RAAHIMEEN.

    O my Lord, I pray You to grant me the blessing of this place and the blessing of its people. And I pray You to grant me sustenance from Your sustenance; sustenance that is legal and pleasant, and that You bring it to me by Your might and power, while I experience good health, O most merciful of all those who show mercy.

    اے پروردگار! تجھ سے اس جگہ کی برکت مانگتا ہوں اور یہاں کے رہنے والوں کی برکت اور تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں کہ مجھے اپنے ہاں سے حلال و پاک روزی عطا فرما اپنی قدرت سے اس کو میری طرف راہ دے تاکہ میں عافیت میں رہوں اے سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے۔

19. اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔

    ALLAAHUMMA SALLI 'ALAA MUHAMMADIN WA-AALI MUHAMMAD.

    O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.

    اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
