دُعا نور افطار
A supplication for the moment of iftar — Dua Noor-e-Iftar, said as the fast is opened.
It addresses Allah as Lord of the magnificent light, of the highest heaven, of the flowing seas, of the Tawrat and the Injil and the great Furqan, and then asks by His Name — the Name that illuminates everything, that shines in the heavens and the earth, and that guides the people of every age from the first of them to the last.
What it asks for is modest and specific: that the reciter’s deeds be raised and accepted, that they be given what His obedient servants were given, and that good be gathered for them, for their family and for their parents together.
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ النُّوْرِ الْعَظِيْمِ وَرَبَّ الْكُرْسِيِّ الرَّفِيْعِ وَرَبَّ الْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُوْرِ وَرَبَّ الشَّفْعِ الْكَبِيْرِ وَالنُّوْرِ الْعَزِيْزِ وَرَبَّ التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْاِنْجِيْلِ وَالزَّبُوْرِ وَالْفُرْقَانِ الْعَظِيْمِ اَنْتَ اِلٰهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَاِلٰهُ مَنْ فِي الْاَرْضِ۔ لَا اِلٰهَ فِيْهِمَا غَيْرُكَ وَاَنْتَ مَلِكُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَلِكُ مَنْ فِي الْاَرْضِ لَا مَلِكَ فِيْهِمَا غَيْرُكَ اَسْئَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الْكَبِيْرِ وَنُوْرِ وَجْهِكَ الْمُنِيْرِ وَبِمُلْكِكَ الْقَدِيْمِ يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّوْمُ يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّوْمُ يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّوْمُ۔
Allaahumma rabban nooril a’zeeme wa rabbal kursi-yir rafee-e’ wa rabbal bah-ril mas-joore wa rab-bash shaf-i’l kabee-re wan-nooril a’zeeze wa rabbat taw-raate wal in-jeele waz zaboo-re wal furqaa-nil a’zee-me anta elaa-ho man fis samaa-waate wa elaa-ho man fil arze.
Laa ilaaha fee-haa ghairo-ka wa anta jab-baaro man fis samaa-waate wa jab-baaro man fil arze laa jab-baara fee-haa ghairo-ka wa anta maleko man fil arze laa maleka fee-haa ghairo-ka as-aloka be-isme-kal kabee-re wa noore wajhe-kal karee-me wa be-mulke-kal qadeeme yaa haiyyo yaa qaiyyoo-mo, yaa haiyyo yaa qaiyyoo-mo, yaa haiyyo yaa qaiyyoo-mo.
O Lord of the magnificent light, Lord of the highest heaven, Lord of the flowing seas, Lord of the great intercessor and brilliant light, Lord of the Tawrat and Injeel, and the grand Furqan (criterion). You are the only God of the heavens and the earth. There is no other god save you. You are powerful over everything in the heavens and earth. There is no powerful save You. You are the owner of the heavens and earth. There is no owner save you. I beseech you through your great name, your brilliant superior being, your ever existing kingdom O Ever living, O Self Subsisting, O Ever living, O self Subsisting.
خدایا! نور عظیم کے مالک، کرسی بلند کے مالک، ٹھا ٹھیں مارتے سمندر کے مالک (پروردگار) اے عظیم الشان سفارش اور نور محترم کے مالک، توریت و انجیل و زبور و فرقان عظیم کے مال، تو آسمان والوں کا اللہ ہے، جو چیزیں زمین میں ہیں ان کا بھی معبود ہے۔ اس کائنات میں تیرے سوا کوئی اللہ نہیں اور تو ہی مخلوقات فلکی پر بھی غالب ہے اور اہل زمین کا بھی یہاں تیرے علاوہ کوئی صاحب غالب نہیں۔ تو زمین کی ہر چیز کا مالک و مختار ہے اس پر تیرے علاوہ کوئی بادشاہ نہیں۔ تجھ سے تیرے سب سے بڑے نام کا صدقہ دے کر تیری کریم ذات کا واسطہ، تیری سلطنت قدم کے طفیل میں مانگتا ہوں۔ اے زندہ اے ہمیشہ باقی رہنے والے، اے زندہ اے ہمیشہ باقی رہنے والے، اے زندہ اے ہمیشہ باقی رہنے والے۔
اَسْئَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ اَشْرَقَ بِهٖ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ وَبِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ اَشْرَقَتْ بِهِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْاَرْضُ وَبِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ صَلَحَ بِهِ الْاَوَّلُوْنَ وَبِهٖ يَصْلُحُ الْآخِرُوْنَ يَا حَيُّ قَبْلَ كُلِّ حَيٍّ وَيَا حَيُّ بَعْدَ كُلِّ حَيٍّ وَيَا حَيُّ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاغْفِرْ لِيْ ذُنُوْبِيْ وَاجْعَلْ لِيْ مِنْ اَمْرِيْ يُسْرًا وَفَرَجًا قَرِيْبًا وَثَبِّتْنِيْ عَلٰى دِيْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلٰى سُنَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ۔
As-aloka be-isme-kal lazee ash-ra-qat be-his samaa-waato wal arzo wa be-isme-kal lazee salaha be-hil awwa-loona wa behi yas-lo-hul aakhe-roona yaa haiy-yan qabla kulle haiyyin wa yaa haiy-yan ba’da kulle haiyyin yaa haiyyo laa ilaaha illaa anta salle a’laa mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin.
Wagh-fir lee zonoo-bee waj-a’l lee min amree yusran wa fara-jan qaree-ban wa sabbit-nee a’laa deene mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin wa a’laa hodaa mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin wa a’laa sunna-te mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin a’laiy-he wa a’laiy-he-mus salaamo.
I beseech you in thy name that illuminates everything and by thy name that radiates in the heavens and earth, thy name which sets the people of all times on the right path from the foremost to the last. O Ever Living who was there before anything else. O Ever Living who is ever existing when no life shall exist. O Ever Living there is no god save You. Peace be upon Mohammed and his progeny. Forgive me my sins, make my affairs easy, and the reappearance near and keep us firm in the religion of Mohammed and family of Mohammed, on the guidance of Mohammed and family of Mohammed, on the sunnah of Mohammed and his family, peace be upon him and his family.
میں تجھ سے تیرے اس نام کا صدقہ دے کر مانگتا ہوں جس سے آسمانوں اور زمینوں کو چمکا دیا ہے، اور تیرے اس نام کے ذریعے جس سے اگلے زمانے والوں نے اپنی اصلاح کی اور اسی سے مستقبل میں آنے والے اپنی خرابیا دور کریں گے۔ اے ہر زندہ سے پہلے زندہ، اے ہر زندہ کے بعد زندہ رہنے والے، اے حقیقی زندگی رکھنے والے، تیرے علاوہ کوئی اللہ نہیں، محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر رحمت نازل فرما اور میرے گناہ بخش دے۔ میرے معاملات میرے لئے آسان فرما دے، مجھے جلد از جلد سکون عطا کر، اور مجھے دین محمدؐ اور آل محمدؑ پر، ہدایت محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر، سنت محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر برقرار رکھ۔
وَاجْعَلْ عَمَلِيْ فِي الْمَرْفُوْعِ الْمُتَقَبَّلِ وَهَبْ لِيْ كَمَا وَهَبْتَ لِاَوْلِيَاۗئِكَ وَاَهْلِ طَاعَتِكَ فَاِنِّيْ مُؤْمِنٌ بِكَ وَمُتَوَكِّلٌ عَلَيْكَ مُنِيْبٌ اِلَيْكَ مَعَ مَصِيْرِيْ اِلَيْكَ وَتَجْمَعُ لِيْ وَلِوَالِدَیَّ وَلِاَهْلِيْ وَ وُلْدِيَ الْخَيْرَ كُلَّهٗ وَتَصْرِفُ عَنِّيْ وَعَنْ وَلِدَیَّ وَعَنْ وُلْدِيْ وَاَهْلِيَ الشَّرَّ كُلَّهٗ اَنْتَ الْحَنَّانُ الْمَنَّانُ بَدِيْعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِ تُعْطِي الْخَيْرَ مَنْ تَشَاۗءُ وَتَصْرِفُهٗ عَمَّنْ تَشَاۗءُ فَامْنُنْ عَلَيَّ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔
WAJ-A’L A’MA-LEE FIL MARFOO-I’L MOTA-QABBA-LE WA HAB LEE KAMAA WA HABTA LE-AWLIYAA'e KA WA AHLE TAA-A’TE-KA FA-INNEE MO-ME-NOON BEKA WA MOTA-WAKKE-LOON A'LAIY-KA MONEE-BOON ILAIY-KA MA-A’ MASEE-REE ILAIY-KA WA TAJMA’ LEE WALE WAALE-DAIY-YA WALE AHLEE WALE WUL-DE-YAL KHAIRA KULLA-HU WA TASRE-FO A’NNEE WA A’N WAALE-DAIYYA WALE AHLEE WALE WUL-DIL KHAIRA KULLA-HU WA TASRE-FO ANNEE WA A’N WAALE DAIYYA WA A’N AHLEE WA A’N WUL-DISH SHARRA KULLA-HU WA ANTAL HANNAA-NUL MANNAA-NO BADEE-U’S SAMAA-WAATE WAL ARZE TO’TIL KHAIRA MAN TASHAAA-O WA TASRE-FOHU A’MMAN TASHAAA-O FAM-NUN A’LAIY-YA BE-RAH-MATEKA YAA AR-HAMAR RAAHE-MEEN.
Make my deeds lofty and accepted. Bestow upon me like you have granted your pious and obedient servants. For surely I am a believer in you, trusting in you, turning repentantly to you, to you is my journeys end. Gather for me and for my family and my parents all good and remove for me, my family and parents all evil. You are the compassionate, the supporter and the originator of the heavens and the earth. Give me the best that you wish and protect me from Your Grace O Kind and compassionate.
میرے عمل کو قابل قبول و بلند درجہ عطا فرما اور مجھے وہی مرحمت کر جو اپنے اولیاء اور فرمانبرداروں کو عطا فرمایا ہے کیوں کہ میں تجھ پر ایمان لا چکا ہوں، تیرے اوپر توکل کر چکا ہوں، تیری بارگاہ میں عاجزی کر رہا ہوں، پھر تیرے حضور میں حاضری بھی ہو گی مجھے اور میرے والدین، گھر والوں اور تمام نیک اولادوں کے ساتھ یکجا فرما دے، اور مجھ سے میرے والدین سے میرے اہل و عیال سے میری تمام اولاد سے ہر قسم کے دکھوں کو الگ رکھنا۔ میرے اللہ تو بہت بڑا کرم فرما احسان کرنے والا، آسمان و زمین کا بے مثال خالق ہے، جسے چاہتا ہے نیکی عطا فرماتا ہے، جس کو چاہتا ہے محروم رکھتا ہے اس لئے اے مہربانوں میں سب سے بڑے رحم کرنے والے اپنی رحمت کے صدقے میں مجھ پر رحم فرما۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
