Mosque of Two Qiblas
In the 6th month of 1st Hijri, the Prophet (s) visited the tribe of Bani Saalim which is in the north-west of Medina on invitation by Umme Bashar. As usual, he prayed two units of Zohr prayer facing Bayt-ul-Muqaddas when Allah ordered him to face Kaba. He continued the remaining prayer facing Kaba. After that, Kaba became Qiblah of Muslims forever. Hence this mosque is called ’Masjid-e-D’uqiblatan’ or ’Masjid-e-Qiblatain’ (The Mosque of Two Qiblas). ہجرت کے پہلے سال کے چھٹے مہینے میں نبی اکرمؐ قبیلہ بنی سالم (مدینہ کے شمال مغرب میں) تشریف لے گئے۔ یہ دعوت اُمِّ بشر کی طرف سے تھی۔ وہاں آپؐ نے ظہر کی دو رکعتیں معمول کے مطابق بیت المقدس کی طرف رخ کر کے پڑھیں۔ اسی دوران اللہ تعالیٰ کا حکم نازل ہوا کہ اب رخ کعبہ کی طرف کر دیں۔ چنانچہ آپؐ نے نماز کے باقی حصے میں رخ کعبہ کی طرف کر لیا۔ اس کے بعد سے کعبہ ہمیشہ کے لیے مسلمانوں کا قبلہ قرار پایا۔ اسی وجہ سے اس مسجد کو مسجدِ ذوقبلتین یا مسجدِ قبلتین )یعنی دو قبلوں والی مسجد) کہا جاتا ہے۔ یہی وہ واقعہ ہے جس کے بارے میں قرآن کی آیت (سورۃ البقرہ ۲:۱۴۴) نازل ہوئی۔۔۔
قَدْ نَرٰى تَقَلُّبَ وَجْهِكَ فِي السَّمَآءِ فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبْلَةً تَرْضٰىهَا فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنْتُمْ فَوَلُّوْا وُجُوْهَكُمْ شَطْرَهٗ۔۔۔
Qad naraa taqalluba wajhika fee as-samaa'i falanuwalliyannaka qiblatan tardaahaa fawalli wajhaka shatra al-masjidi al-haraami wahaythu maa kuntum fawalloo wujoohakum shatrah...
Indeed We see the turning of your face to heaven, so We shall surely turn you to a qiblah which you shall like; turn then your face towards the Sacred Mosque, and wherever you are, turn your face towards it…
اے رسول ہم آپ کی توجہ کو آسمان کی طرف دیکھ رہے ہیں تو ہم عنقریب آپ کو اس قبلہ کی طرف موڑ دیں گے جسے آپ پسند کرتے ہیں لہٰذا آپ اپنا رخ مسجدالحرام کی جہت کی طرف موڑ دیجئے اور جہاں بھی رہئے اسی طرف رخ کیجئے۔۔۔
Earlier there were two arches (Mehrab) opposite to each other - one facing Kaaba and another Bayt-ul-Muqaddas. Unfortunately, only one arch remained when the renovation of this mosque was done a few years ago. The first signs of this incident were erased.
پہلے یہاں دو محرابیں آمنے سامنے تھیں ایک کعبہ کی طرف رخ کرتی تھی اور دوسری بیت المقدس کی طرف۔ بدقسمتی سے چند سال پہلے جب اس مسجد کی مرمت/تجدید کی گئی تو صرف ایک محراب باقی رہ گئی۔ اس واقعے کی ابتدائی نشانیاں بھی مٹا دی گئیں۔

اس مسجد میں جاکر ۲ رکعت نماز تحیت مسجد پڑھے اور تسبیح فاطمہؑ کے بعد زیارتِ جامعہ کبیرہ پڑھے اور پھر یہ دعا پڑھے۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰہُمَّ اِنَّ ہٰذَا مَسْجِدُ الْقِبْلَتَیْنِ وَمُصَلّٰی نَبِیِّنَا وَحَبِیْبِنَا وَسَیِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ۔
اَللّٰہُمَّ اِنَّكَ قُلْتَ وَقَوْلُكَ الْحَقُّ فِیْ كِتَابِكَ الْمُنْزَلِ عَلٰی صَدْرِ نَبِیِّكَ الْمُرْسَلِ: قَدْ نَرٰی تَقَلُّبَ وَجْہِكَ فِی السَّمَآئِ فَلَنُوَلِّیَنَّكَ قِبْلَۃً تَرْضٰیہَا فَوَلِّ وَجْہَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ۔
اَللّٰہُمَّ كَمَا بَلَّغْتَنَا فِی الدُّنْیَا زِیَارَتَہٗ وَمَآثِرَہُ الشَّرِیْفَۃَ فَلَا تَحْرِمْنَا یَا اَللہُ فِی الْآخِرَۃِ مِنْ فَضْلِ شَفَاعَۃِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ وَاحْشُرْنَا فِیْ زُمْرَتِہٖ وَتَحْتَ لِوَآئِہٖ وَاَمِتْنَا عَلٰی مَحَبَّتِہٖ وَسُنَّتِہٖ وَاسْقِنَا مِنْ حَوْضِہِ الْمَوْرِدِ بِیَدِہِ الشَّرِیْفَۃِ شُرْبَۃً ہَنِیْئَۃً مَرِیْئَۃً لَا نَظْمَاُ بَعْدَہَا اَبَدًا اِنَّكَ عَلٰی كُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرٌ۔
Allaahumma inna haazaa masjidu al-qiblatayni wamusallaa nabiyyinaa wahabeebinaa wasayyidinaa muhammadin sallaa allaahu 'alayhi wa-aalihee wasallam.
Allaahumma innaka qulta waqawluka al-haqqu fee kitaabika al-munzali 'alaa sadri nabiyyika al-mursali: qad naraa taqalluba wajhika fee as-samaa'i falanuwalliyannaka qiblatan tardaahaa fawalli wajhaka shatra al-masjidi al-haraam.
Allaahumma kamaa ballaghtanaa fee ad-dunyaa ziyaaratahoo wamaathirahu ash-shareefata falaa tahrimnaa yaa allaahu fee al-aakhirati min fadli shafaa'ati muhammadin sallaa allaahu 'alayhi wa-aalihee wasallama wahshurnaa fee zumratihee watahta liwaa'ihee wa-amitnaa 'alaa mahabbatihee wasunnatihee wasqinaa min hawdihi al-mawridi biyadihi ash-shareefati shurbatan hanee'atan maree'atan laa nazma'u ba'dahaa abadan innaka 'alaa kulli shay'in qadeer.
O Allah, this is the Mosque of the Two Qiblahs (Masjid al-Qiblatain) and the place of prayer of our Prophet, our Beloved, and our Master Muhammad may Allah send blessings upon him and his family and grant them peace. O Allah, indeed You have said and Your word is the truth in Your Book revealed upon the heart of Your sent Prophet: “We have certainly seen the turning of your face toward the sky, so We will surely turn you to a direction of prayer that will please you. So turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Haram.” O Allah, just as You enabled us in this world to visit it and (to see) its noble signs, do not deprive us O Allah in the Hereafter of the grace of the intercession of Muhammad may Allah send blessings upon him and his family and grant them peace. And gather us in his company and under his banner, and cause us to die upon his love and his Sunnah. And give us to drink from his welcoming Fountain (al-Hawz) by his noble hand, a drink that is pleasant and wholesome, after which we will never thirst again. Indeed, You have power over all things.
اے اللہ! یہ مسجدِ قبلتین ہے، اور یہ ہمارے نبی، ہمارے محبوب اور ہمارے آقا حضرت محمدؐ کی نماز پڑھنے کی جگہ ہے۔ اے اللہ! تو نے اپنی اس کتاب میں جو تو نے اپنے بھیجے ہوئے نبیؐ کے سینے پر نازل فرمائی فرمایا ہے اور تیرا فرمان بالکل حق ہے: ہم تمہارے چہرے کا آسمان کی طرف بار بار اٹھنا دیکھ رہے ہیں، پس ہم ضرور تمہیں اُس قبلے کی طرف پھیر دیں گے جو تمہیں پسند ہے۔ لہٰذا اپنا رخ مسجدِ حرام (کعبہ) کی طرف کر لو۔ اے اللہ! جیسے تو نے ہمیں دنیا میں اس مسجد کی زیارت اور اس کی عزت والی نشانیاں دکھانے کی توفیق دی، ویسے ہی اے اللہ! آخرت میں ہمیں حضرت محمدؐ کی شفاعت کے فضل سے محروم نہ کرنا۔ اور ہمیں اُن کی جماعت میں اٹھانا، اُن کے جھنڈے تلے جمع کرنا، اور ہمیں اُن کی محبت اور اُن کی سنت پر موت دینا۔ اور ہمیں اُن کے حوضِ کوثر سے اُن کے مبارک ہاتھوں سے ایسا خوشگوار اور آسانی سے اترنے والا گھونٹ پلانا کہ اس کے بعد ہمیں کبھی پیاس نہ لگے۔ بے شک تو ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
Now visit Masjid-e-Fath (Ahzab).
اس کے بعد مسجدِ فتح (احزاب) کی زیارت کریں۔
