In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

O Allah! Do not discipline me by means of Your punishment, And do not subject me to Your planned strategy . From where do I obtain the bounties, O Lord, while none can be found except with You, And how can I seek salvation while it can be granted by none but You, Neither can the good-doer do without Your help and mercy, nor can the sinful one who offended You (when sinning), and displeased You, bypass the realm of Your power and capacity. O my Lord, O my Lord, O my Lord...

میرے اﷲ!مجھے اپنے عذاب میں گرفتار نہ کر اور مجھے اپنی قدرت کے ساتھ نہ آزما مجھے کہاں سے بھلائی حاصل ہوسکتی ہے اے پالنے والے جب کہ وہ تیرے سوا کہیں موجود نہیں،مجھے کہاں سے نجات مل سکے گی جب کہ اس پر تیرے سوا کسی کو قدرت نہیں نہ ہی کوئی نیکی کرنے میں تیری مدد اور رحمت سے بے نیاز ہے اور نہ ہی کوئی برائی کرنے والا تیرے سامنے جرأت کرنے والا اور تیری رضا طلب نہ کرنے والا تیرے قابو سے باہر ہے اے پالنے والے اے پالنے والے اے پالنے والے۔۔۔

…I knew of You by You, and You directed me to You and called me to You, and without You I would not have known what You are. All Praise is for Allah whom I call upon with my needs then He answers me, even though I was slow when He calls upon me. All Praise is for Allah whom I supplicate and He grants me (what I plead for) even though I was stingy when He sought a loan from me. All Praise is for Allah whom I call upon with my needs whenever I wish, and I entrust Him with my secrets without an intercessor, and He grants me my wishes.

۔۔۔(اے اللہ) میں نے تیرے ہی ذریعے تجھے پہچانا تو نے اپنی طرف میری راہنمائی کی اور مجھے اپنی طرف بلایا ہے اور اگر تو مجھے نہ بلاتا تو میں سمجھ ہی نہ سکتا کہ تو کون ہے حمد ہے اس خداکے لئے جسے پکارتا ہوں تو جواب دیتا ہے اگرچہ جب وہ مجھے پکارے تو میں سستی کرتا ہوں حمد ہے اس اﷲکے لئے کہ جس سے مانگتا ہوں تو مجھے عطا کرتا ہے اگرچہ وہ مجھ سے قرض کا طالب ہو تو کنجوسی کرتا ہوں حمد ہے اس اﷲکے لئے کہ جب چاہوں اسے اپنی حاجت کے لئے پکارتاہوں اور جب چاہوں تنہائی میں بغیر کسی سفارشی کے اس سے راز و نیاز کرتا ہوں تو وہ میری حاجت پوری کرتا ہے۔

All Praise is for Allah whom I do not plead to anyone but Him, for if I pleaded to others, they would not grant me. All Praise is for Allah who dignified me by becoming the Disposer of my affairs, instead of making me rely on others who then would humiliate me. All Praise is for Allah who endeared me even though He is not in need of me. All Praise is for Allah who treats me with clemency, just as if I have no sin. So my Lord is the most praised by me of all, and most worthy of my praise.

حمد ہے اس اﷲکے لئے کہ جس کے سوا میں کسی کو نہیں پکارتا اور اگر اس کے غیر سے دعا کروں تو وہ میری دعا قبول نہیں کرے گا حمد ہے اس اﷲکے لئے جس کے غیر سے میں امید نہیں رکھتا اور اگرامید رکھوں بھی تو وہ میری امید پوری نہ کرے گا حمد ہے اس اﷲکے لئے جس نے اپنی سپردگی میں لے کر مجھے عزّت دی اور مجھے لوگوں کے سپرد نہ کیا کہ مجھے ذلیل کرتے حمد ہے اس اﷲکے لئے جو مجھ سے محبت کرتا ہے اگرچہ وہ مجھ سے بے نیاز ہے حمد ہے اس اﷲکے لئے جو مجھ سے اتنی نرمی کرتا ہے جیسے میں نے کوئی گناہ نہ کیا ہو پس میرا رب میرے نزدیک ہر شئے سے زیادہ قابلِ تعریف ہے اور وہ میری حمد کا زیادہ حق دار ہے۔

O Allah! I find the roads of wishes to You wide open, And the rivers of hope to You vast and running, And counting on Your bountifulness (in times of need) for those who wished You freely accessible, And the gates of prayer to those who are desperate, wide ajar. And I know that You are for those who ask You in the position of answer. And for those who are distressed, You are in a posture of rescue. And in disparately seeking Your generosity and being content with Your judgment, I find it compensating from the rejection of the misers, and more satisfying than the handouts of the selfish. And truly traveling to You is short in duration, and You do not veil Yourself from Your creatures unless their own misdeeds would block them from You.

اے معبود! میں اپنے مقاصد کی راہیں تیری طرف کھلی ہوئی پاتا ہوں اور امیدوں کے چشمے تیرے ہاں بھرے پڑے ہیں ہر امید وار کے لئے تیرے فضل سے مدد چاہنا آزاد ومباح ہے اور فریاد کرنے والوں کی دعاؤں کے لئے تیرے دروازے کھلے ہیں اور میں جانتا ہوں کہ تو امیدوار کی جائے قبولیت ہے تو مصیبت زدوں کے لئے فریاد رسی کی جگہ ہے میں جانتا ہوں کہ تیری سخاوت کی پناہ لینا اور تیرے فیصلے پر راضی رہنا کنجوسوں کی روک ٹوک سے بچنے اور خود غرض مال داروں سے محفوظ رہنے کا ذریعہ ہے نیز یہ کہ تیری طرف آنے والے کی منزل قریب ہے اور تو اپنی مخلوق سے اوجھل نہیں ہے مگر ان کے برے اعمال نے ہی انہیں تجھ سے دور کر رکھا ہے۔

And I have sought You for my wish, and directed my need to You, and I depend on You for my rescue, and I assign my pleading to You by praying to You, doing this while knowing that I am not worthy of Your listening to me nor do I have a right on You to pardon me, but I do so because I trust in Your generosity, and I submit to Your true promise (to answer our prayers) and I take refuge through believing in Your unity, and through my certainty of knowledge about You, that indeed I have no other god or lord but You, only You; there is no partner for You.

میں اپنی طلب لے کر تیری بارگاہ میں آیا اور اپنی حاجت کے ساتھ تیری طرف متوجہ ہوا ہوں میری فریاد تیرے حضور میں ہے میری دعا کا وسیلہ تیری ہی ذات ہے جب کہ میں اس کا حق دار نہیں کہ تو میری سنے اور نہ اس قابل ہوں کہ تو مجھے معاف کرے البتہ مجھے تیرے کرم پر بھروسہ اور تیرے سچے وعدے پر اعتماد ہے تیری توحید پر ایمان میری پکی سچی پناہ ہے اور تیرے بارے میں مجھے اپنی معرفت پر یقین ہے تیرے سوا میرا کوئی پالنے والا نہیں اور تو ہی صرف یگانہ ہے تیرا کوئی شریک نہیں۔

O my Lord! You did say and all of what You say is true and what You promise is unconditional that " O (believers) ask Allah of His bounty, for Allah is Merciful towards you", And it is not from Your features, O my Master, to order me to ask and prevent the answer, and You are the Grantor of all bounties on all residents of Your kingdom and the Giver of Your consoling tenderness.

اے معبود! یہ تیرا فرمان ہے اور تیرا کہنا درست اور تیرا وعدہ سچا ہے کہ اﷲسے اس کا فضل مانگو بے شک اﷲتم پر بڑا مہربان ہے، اور اے میرے سردار! یہ بات تیری شان سے بعید ہے کہ تو مانگنے کا حکم دے تو عطا نہ فرمائےتو اپنی مملکت کے باشندوں کو بہت بہت عطا کرنے والا ہے اور اپنی مہربانی و نرمی سے ان کی طرف متوجہ ہے۔

O my Lord! You have brought me up in Your gifts, and bounties since I was youthful, and elevated my designation as I grew older, So, O the One who brought me up in this life with His benevolence, bountifulness and blessings, and indicated to me His forgiveness and generosity in the hereafter. My knowledge, O my Master, is that which guides me to You and my love is my intercessor to You, and I am trusting of my evidence with Your guidance and comfortable of my intercessor with Your intercession. I pray to You, O my master, with a tongue that has been paralyzed by its sin.

اے اﷲ!جب میں بچہ تھا تو نے مجھے اپنی نعمت اور احسان کے ساتھ پالا اور جب میں بڑا ہوا تو مجھے شہرت عطا کی پس اے وہ ذات جس نے دنیا میں مجھے اپنے احسان نعمت اور عطا سے پالا اور آخرت میں مجھے اپنے عفوودرگزر و کرم کا اشارہ دیا ہے اے میرے مولا!میری معرفت ہی تیری طرف میری رہنما ہے اور میری تجھ سے محبت تیرے سامنے میری سفارشی ہے اور مجھے تیری طرف لے جانے والےاپنے اس رہبر پر بھروسہ اور تیرے حضور شفاعت کرنے والے اپنے شفاعت گزار پر اطمینان ہے اے میرے سردار!میں تجھے اس زبان سے پکارتا ہوں جو گناہ کی وجہ سے لکنت کرتی ہے۔

O my Lord, I confide to You with a heart that has been doomed by its mischief; I pray to You, O my Lord, frightened but wishful, hopeful but fearful if I contemplate my sins. O my Lord, I become scared, but when I remember Your generosity I yearn, So, if You forgive, You are the most merciful and if You punish, You have not unjustly judged.

پالنے والے میں اس دل سے راز گوئی کرتا ہوں جسے اس کے جرم نے تباہ کردیا اے پالنے والے میں تجھے پکارتا ہوں لیکن سہما ہوا ڈرا ہوا چاہتا ہوا امید رکھتا ہوا اے میرے مولا! جب میں اپنے گناہوں کو دیکھتا ہوں تو گھبراتا ہوں اور تیرے کرم پر نگاہ ڈالتا ہوں تو آرزو بڑھتی ہے پس اگر تو مجھے معاف کرے تو بہترین رحم کرنے والا ہے اور عذاب دے تو بھی ظلم کرنے والا نہیں۔

My excuse, O Allah in my daring to ask You, even though I have committed what You hate, is Your benevolence and generosity, and my preparation for my adversity, given that I lack shyness (in committing sin), is Your forbearance and mercy. And I am wishful that my hope will not be disappointed, so fulfill my ambition and accept my prayer, O The Best who was ever prayed to! O The Most bountiful who was ever wished! My hope, my Master is ever great, but my deeds have worsened, so grant me from Your pardon by as much as I had hoped, and please, do not judge me by my worst mischief, for Your generosity is greater than punishing the sinners, and Your forbearance and patience is higher than recompensing the inadequates.

اے اﷲجو کام تجھے نا پسند ہیں وہ انجام دینے کے با وجود تجھ سے سوال کرنے کی جرأت میں تیرا جود و کرم ہی میری حجت ہے اور حیا کی کمی کے با وجود سختی کے وقت میں میرا سہارا تیری ہی مہربانی و نرم روی ہے اور میں امید رکھتا ہوں کہ ایسی ویسی باتوں کے ہوتے ہوئے بھی تو مجھے مایوس نہ کرے گا پس میری امید پوری کر اور میری دعاسن لے اے پکارے جانے والوں میں سب سے بہتر اور جن سے امید کی جاتی ہے ان میں سب سے بلند تر اے میرے آقا! میری آرزو بڑی اور میرا عمل برا ہے پس اپنے عفوودرگزر سے کام لے کر میری آرزو پوری فرما اور برے عمل پر میری گرفت نہ کر کیوں کہ تیرا کرم گناہگاروں کی سزاؤں سے بہت بلند و بالا ہےاور تیرا حلم کوتاہی کرنے والوں کی سزاؤں سے عظیم تر ہے۔

I am, my Master, seeking refuge through Your bountifulness, I am escaping from You to You, while anticipating Your promise to forgive those who possessed good convictions toward You. Who am I, my Lord, and what is my danger! Provide me with Your bounties and grant me charity with Your pardon, O my Lord, cover me with Your protection and pardon me of my punishment by the honor of Your face.

اور اے میرے سردار! میں تیرے خوف سے بھاگ کر تیرے فضل کی پناہ حاصل کرتا ہوں میں چاہتا ہوں کہ جس نے تجھ سے اچھا گمان رکھا ہے اس سے در گزر کا وعدہ پورا فرما اور اے میرے پروردگار! میں کیا اور میری اوقات کیا تو ہی اپنے فضل سے مجھے بخش دے اور اپنے عفوودرگزر سے مجھ پر عنایت فرما اے میرے رب! مجھے اپنی پردہ پوشی سے ڈھانپ اور اپنے خاص کرم سے میری سرزنش وملامت ٹال دے۔

For if any one today other than You would have known of my sin, I would not have sinned, And if I feared that You may hasten my punishment, I would have avoided sinning, Not because You are not an important watcher, nor an unworthy onlooker, but because You, my Lord, are the best secret keeper, and the Wisest of all rulers, and Most generous of all generous.

اگر آج تیرے سوا کوئی دوسرا میرے گناہ کو جان لیتا تو میں یہ کبھی نہ کرتا اور اگر مجھے جلد سزا ملنے کا خوف ہوتا تو ضرور گناہ سے دور رہتا لیکن اس کی وجہ یہ نہیں کہ تو دیکھنے والوں میں کمتر اور جاننے والوں میں کم رتبہ ہے بلکہ اس کی وجہ یہ ہے اے پروردگار کہ تو بہترین پردہ پوش سب سے بڑا حاکم اور سب سے زیادہ کرم کرنے والا

O Protector of secrets! O Oft-forgiver of sins! O Knower of all that is hidden! You protect the secretive sin with Your generosity and You delay my punishment with Your patience, So to You extends all the Praise for having known and yet been patient, and for having pardoned even though You are capable (of punishing). And what motivates and dares me to disobey You is Your patience with me, and what invites me to the lack of shyness (from You) is Your protection of my (concealed) sins.

عیبوں کو ڈھانپنے والا گناہوں کا معاف کرنے والا چھپی باتوں کا جاننے والا ہے۔ تو اپنے کرم سے گناہ کو ڈھانپتا اور اپنی نرم خوئی سے سزا میں تاخیر کرتا ہے پس حمد ہے تیرے لئے کہ جانتے ہوئے نرمی سے کام لیتا ہے تیری حمد ہے کہ تو توانا ہوتے ہوئے معاف کرتا ہے اور وہ میرے ساتھ تیری نرم روی ہے جس نے مجھے تیری نا فرمانی پر آمادہ کیا ہے تیرا میری پردہ پوشی کرنا مجھ میں حیا کی کمی کا سبب بنا ہے۔

And what rushes me towards Your forbidden actions is my awareness of the vastness of Your mercy and the greatness of Your forgiveness. O Forbearer! O Generous! O One who is living and self-subsisting! O Forgiver of sin! O Acceptor of repentance! O Greatest giver of all good! O Ancient in bountifulness! I call upon Your beautiful protection of secrets, I call upon Your abundant pardon, I call upon Your neighboring relief, I call upon Your quick rescue, I call upon Your vast mercy and compassion, I call upon Your bountiful gifts, I call upon Your blessed awards, I call upon Your splendid favors, I call upon Your immense bountifulness, I call upon Your enormous endowments, I call upon Your ancient benefaction, I call upon Your benevolence, O Most Generous. By it (what I mentioned of Your features) I seek Your rescue, and by Your compassion, please relieve me.

اور تیری وسیع رحمت اور عظیم عفوودرگزر کی معرفت کے باعث میں تیرے حرام کیے ہوئےکاموں کی طرف جلدی کرتا ہوں اے نرم خو اے مہربان!اے زندہ اے نگہبان اے گناہ معاف کرنے والے اے توبہ قبول کرنے والے اے عظیم عطا والے اے قدیم احسان والے کہاں ہے؟ تیری بہترین پردہ پوشی کہاں ہے؟ تیرا بلند تر عفوودرگزر، کہاں ہے؟ تیری قریب تر کشائش وآسائش کہاں ہے؟ تیری فوری فریاد رسی کہاں ہے؟ تیری وسیع تر رحمت کہاں ہیں؟ تیری بہترین عطائیں کہاں ہیں؟ تیری خوش گوار بخششیں کہاں ہیں؟ تیرے شان دار انعامات کہاں ہیں ؟تیرا با عظمت فضل کہاں ہے؟ تیری عظیم بخشش کہاں ہے؟ تیرا قدیم احسان کہاں ہے؟ تیری مہربانی۔ اے مہربان اپنی مہربانی سے محمدؐ وآلؑ محمدؐ کے صدقے مجھے عذاب سے نکال اور اپنی رحمت سے مجھے اس سے رہائی دے

O Benevolent! O Creator of beauty! O Benefactor! O Bountiful! I do not depend on our (good) deeds to achieve salvation from Your punishment, rather I trust it to Your bountifulness toward us, for You are the Lord of righteousness and the Lord of forgiveness. You initiate Your giving through Your graciousness and You pardon sin with Your generosity, and we do not know what we should praise more, is it the beauties that You distribute or the sins whose secretiveness You protect, or the greatness of what You have granted and fulfilled or the many misfortunes You have averted and ills You have cured.

اے نیکوکار اے خوش صفات اے نعمت دینے والے اے بلندی دینے والے تیری سزا سے بچنے میں مجھے اپنے اعمال پر کچھ بھی بھروسہ نہیں بلکہ تیرے فضل کا سہارا ہے جو ہم پر ہے کیوں کہ تو گناہ سے بچا لینے والا اور گناہ بخش دینے والا ہے تو احسان کے ساتھ نعمتوں کا آغاز کرتا اور مہربانی کرتے ہوئے گناہ کی معافی دیتا ہے پس ہم نہیں جانتے کہ کس بات پر شکر کریں آیا تیرے نیکی ظاہر کرنے پر یا برائی کی پردہ پوشی پر یا بہت بڑی غم خواری اور عطائے نعمت پر شکر کریں یا بہت سی چیزوں سے تیرے نجات عطا کرنے اور امن دینے پر شکر کریں۔

O The lover of whomever endeared You! O The delight of the eye of who sought You for refuge and dedicated himself to You! You are the well doer and we are the sinners, So pardon, O my Lord, the ugly that we have with the beauties that You have, And what ignorance, O my Lord, cannot be accommodated by Your benevolence? And what era is longer than Your patience? And what significance is our deeds compared with Your awards? And how can we hail our good deeds when we observe Your generosity? Yet how can sinners despair when they are encompassed by Your vast mercy?

اے اس کے دوست جو تجھ سے دوستی کرے اور اے اس کی آنکھوں کا نور جو تیری پناہ لےاور سب سے کٹ کر تیرا ہی ہو جائے تو بھلائی کرنے والا اور ہم برائی کرنے والے ہیں پس اے پالنے والے اپنی بھلائی سے کام لیتے ہوئے ہماری برائی سے در گزر فرما اے پالنے والے وہ کون سی نادانی ہے جس پر تیرا کرم وسعت نہ رکھتا ہو یا وہ کون سا زمانہ ہے جو تیری مہلت سے دراز ہو اور تیری نعمتوں کے سامنے ہمارے اعمال کی کیا وقعت ہے کس طرح ہم اپنے اعمال میں اضافہ کریں کہ انہیں تیرے کرم کے سامنے لا سکیں بلکہ تیری وہ رحمت گنہگاروں پر کیسے تنگ ہو جائے گی جو ان پر چھائی ہوئی ہے۔

O Vast Forgiver! O Extender of both hands with mercy! I swear with Your exalted might, O Master, that if You rebuked me, I would not depart from Your door, and I won’t cease to compliment You since I have indeed come to grasp the knowledge of Your generosity and benevolence. And You are the doer of whatever You desire, You punish whomever You wish, with whatever You wish, and however You wish, and You bestow Your mercy on whomever You wish, with whatever You wish, and however You wish, You are never questioned about Your doings, neither is there any dispute in Your kingdom, nor is there any partnership in Your command, or conflict in Your judgment, and no one can oppose You in Your disposition of affairs. To You belongs all of the creation and command. Indeed Allah, the Most Glorious, is the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds.

اے وسیع بخشش والے اے مہربانی سے بہت زیادہ دینے والے پس تیری عزّت کی قسم اے میرے آقا! تو دھتکارے تب بھی میں تیرے دروازے سے نہ ہٹوں گا چوں کہ مجھے تیرے جود و کرم کی معرفت ہے اس لئے میں اپنی زبان کو تیری تعریف و توصیف سے نہ روکوں گا تو جوچاہے کر گزرتا ہے تو جسے چاہے جس چیز سے چاہے اور جیسے چاہے عذاب دیتا ہے اور جس پر چاہے جس چیز سے چاہے جیسے چاہے رحم کرتا ہے تیرے فعل پر سوال نہیں کیا جا سکتا تیری سلطنت پر جھگڑا نہیں ہوسکتا اور تیرے کام میں کوئی شریک نہیں تیرے حکم میں کوئی ضدیت نہیں اور تیری تدبیر میں کوئی تجھ پر اعتراض نہیں کر سکتا تیرے ہی لئے پیدا کرنا اور حکم فرمانا با برکت ہے وہ اﷲجو جہانوں کا پالنے والا ہے۔

O my Lord! This is the posture of the one who sought refuge through You and allied himself with Your generosity, and became accustomed to Your forbearance and favors, And You are the benevolent whose forgiveness is never strained, neither are Your bounties ever decreasing, nor is Your mercy ever lacking, And we have known with certainty of Your ancient pardon, great bountifulness and vast mercy, Would You, O Allah, ever disappoint our thoughts or let down our hopes?

اے پروردگار! یہ ہے اس شخص کا مقام جس نے تیری پناہ لی تیرے سایۂ کرم میں آیا اور تیرے ہی احسان اور نعمت کا خواہاں ہوا ہے اور تو ایسا سخی ہے کہ تیرا دامنِ عفو تنگ نہیں ہوتا تیرے فضل میں کمی نہیں آتی اور تیری رحمت میں کمی نہیں پڑتی ہم نے اعتماد کیا ہے تجھ پر تیری دیرینہ در گزر عظیم تر فضل و کرم اور تیری کشادہ تر رحمت کے ساتھ،تو اے میرے پالنے والے! کیا تو ہمارے اچھے گمان کے خلاف کرے گا یا ہماری امیدیں ناکام بنائے گا ؟

No never, O Most Generous! for it is not what we expect of You, nor is it what we aspire for, O Allah, we have a greater and ever lasting hope in You, We anticipate great desire in You, We disobeyed You and now we wish that You protect our secret (sins), And we prayed to You and we hope You would answer us. So fulfill our aspiration, O our Master, for otherwise, we realize (the punishment) we deserve as a result of our bad deeds, But Your awareness of our conduct and our knowledge that You indeed won’t send us away from You, has motivated us to seek You, and even though we are not worthy of Your mercy. You are worthy of bestowing Your generosity on us and on all the sinners due to Your vast compassion, So, award us with what You are worthy of, and grant us for we are in need of Your bounty.

نہیں اے مہربان تجھ سے ہم یہ گمان نہیں رکھتے اور نہ تجھ سے ہماری یہ خواہش تھی اے پالنے والے! بے شک تیری بارگاہ سے ہماری بہت سی لمبی امیدیں ہیں بے شک ہم تیری بارگاہ سے بڑی بڑی آرزوئیں رکھتے ہیں ہم تیری نا فرمانی کرتے ہیں تو بھی ہمیں آس ہے تو ہماری پردہ پوشی کرے گا اور ہم تجھ سے دعا مانگتے ہیں تو امید کرتے ہیں کہ تو ہماری دعا قبول کرے گا پس اے ہمارے مولا!ہماری امیدیں پوری فرما اگرچہ ہم جانتے ہیں کہ ہمارے اعمال کی سزا کیا ہے لیکن تیرا علم ہمارے بارے میں ہے اور ہمیں اس کا علم ہے کہ تو ہمیں اپنے ہاں سے پلٹائے گا نہیں چاہے ہم تیری رحمت کے حق دار نہ بھی ہوئے پس تو اس کا اہل ہے کہ ہم پر اور دوسرے گنہگاروں پر اپنے وسیع تر فضل سے عطا و بخشش کرے پس ہم پر ایسا احسان فرما کہ جس کا تو اہل ہے اور سخاوت کر کیوں کہ ہم تیرے انعام کے محتاج ہیں۔

O Most Forgiving! With Your light we were guided and with Your bounties we became richer, and with Your favors we are encountered mornings and evenings. Our sins are before You and we ask You, O Master, for forgiveness and we hereby repent, You befriend us with Your gifts but we reward You by sins, Your bounty to us is ever descending, but our mischief to You is (ever) ascending. And from before and until now, Your honored angel still brings You the news of our ugly deeds but that does not prevent You from continuing to surround us with Your grace, and kindly provide us with Your holy features.

اے بخشنے والے تیرے ہی نور سے ہمیں ہدایت ملی تیرے فضل سے ہم مالا مال ہوئے اور تیری نعمت کے ساتھ ہم صبح و شام کرتے ہیں ہمارے گناہ تیرے سامنے ہیں اے اﷲ! ہم تجھ سے ان کی بخشش چاہتے اور تیرے حضور توبہ کرتے ہیں تو نعمتوں کے ذریعے ہم سے محبت کرتا ہے اور اس کے مقابل ہم تیری نافرمانی کرتے ہیں تیری بھلائی ہماری طرف آرہی ہے اور ہماری برائی تیری طرف جا رہی ہے ہمیشہ سے ایک عزت والا فرشتہ ہمارے برے اعمال تیرے پاس لاتا ہے اور یہ بات تجھے ہم پر اپنی نعمتوں کی بارش سے روک نہیں سکتے اور تو ہم پر اپنی عطائیں بڑھاتا رہتا ہے۔

So, I glorify and praise You for the extent of Your patience, greatness and generosity as a Beginner (of creation) and eventual Claimer of this world. Holiest are Your names, And glorified is Your praise, And honored are Your favors and good deeds. You, my Lord, are more vast in bounty and greater in patience and clemency than to judge me according to my wrong doing and fault, So I beg You : Forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness, O my Master, O my Master, O my Master.

پس تو پاک تر ہے تو کیسا بردبار ہے کتنا عظیم ہےکتنا معزز ہے ابتدا کرنے اور پلٹانے میں تیرے نام پاک تر ہیں تیری ثنا بر تر ہے اور تیری نعمتیں اور تیرے کام بلند تر ہیں اے معبود! تو فضل میں وسعت والا اور برد باری میں عظیم تر ہے اس سے کہ تو میرے فعل اور خطا کے بارے میں قیاس کرے پس معافی دے معافی دے معافی دے میرے سردار میرے سردار میرے سردار۔

O Lord! Occupy our time with Your remembrance, And guard us from Your wrath, And protect us from Your punishment, And grant us from Your rewards, And award us from Your bounties, And provide us the means to conduct pilgrimage to Your house (Ka’ba), and to visit the tomb of Your Prophet, may Your peace, mercy, forgiveness and graciousness be bestowed upon him and his family. Indeed, You are close and forthcoming with Your answer (to our prayers). And assist us in abiding by Your obedience, and claim our souls while we are in Your (righteous) congregation and followers of the tradition of Your Prophet, may peace of Allah be upon him and his family.

اے اﷲ!ہمیں اپنے ذکر میں مشغول رکھ ہمیں اپنی ناراضگی سے پناہ دے ہمیں اپنے عذاب سے امان دے ہمیں اپنی عطاؤں سے رزق دے ہمیں اپنے فضل سے انعام دے ہمیں اپنے گھر (کعبہ) کا حج نصیب فرما اور ہمیں اپنے نبیؐ کے روضہ کی زیارت کرا تیرا درود تیری رحمت تیری بخشش اور تیری رضا ہو تیرے نبیؐ کے لئے اور ان کے اہل بیتؑ کے لئے بے شک تو نزدیک تر قبول کرنے والا ہے اور ہمیں اپنی عبادت بجا لانے کی توفیق دے ہمیں اپنی ملت اور اپنے نبیؐ کی سنت پر موت دے انؐ پر اور ان کی آلؑ پرخدا تعالیٰ کی رحمت ہو۔

O Lord! Forgive me and my parents and grant them mercy as they have raised me since I was youthful, reward their good deeds with bountifulness and (pardon) their sins with forgiveness. O Lord! Forgive the believers, be they men or women, living or dead, and let us follow on their path with good deeds. O Lord! Forgive (for) the living or deceased of us, (believers) the present and the absent, our male and female, our young and old, our free and our slave, Indeed the antagonists of Allah lied and enormously wandered astray, and incurred a major loss.

اے معبود! مجھے بخش دے اور میرے ماں باپ کو بھی اور دونوں پر رحم کر جیسے انہوں نے بچپن میں مجھے پالا اے اﷲ!انہیں احسان کا بدلہ احسان اور گناہوں کے بدلےبخشش عطا فرما اے معبود! بخش دے مومنین اور مومنات کو جو ان میں زندہ اور مردہ ہیں سبھی کو بخش دے اور ان کے اور ہمارے درمیان نیکیوں کے ذریعے تعلق بنادے اے معبود! بخش دے ہمارے زندہ، مردہ، حاضر، غائب اور مرد و عورت، چھوٹے بڑے اور ہمارے آزاد اور غلام سبھی کو بخش دے، خدا سے پھر جانے والے جھوٹے ہیں وہ گمراہ گمراہی میں دور نکل گئے ہیں اور وہ نقصان اٹھانے والے ہیں کھلا نقصان۔

O Lord! Bestow Your peace on Muhammad and his family, and conclude my life in virtue, and resolve what worries me from the affairs of this life and in the hereafter, and do not allow anyone who has no mercy on me to come in contact with me, and provide me with Your everlasting protection and do not deprive me of the best of the amenities. You graced me with, and confer on me from Your bounties, vast awards that are lawful and good.

اے معبود! حضرت محمدؐ اور آل محمدؐ پر رحمت فرما اور میرا خاتمہ بخیر فرما اور دنیا و آخرت میں میرے اہم کاموں میں میری حمایت فرما اور مجھ پر اسے مسلط نہ کر جو مجھ پر رحم نہ کرے اور میرے لئے اپنی طرف سے باقی رہنے والا نگہبان قرار دے اپنی دی ہوئی اچھی نعمتیں مجھ سے چھین نہ لے اور مجھے اپنے فضل سے روزی عطا کر جو کشادہ حلال اور پاک ہو۔

O Lord! Guard me with Your safeguard, And protect me with Your protection, And ally me with Your alliance, And award me the ability to conduct pilgrimage to Your sacred house (Ka’ba) in this year and in every year, and to visit the tomb of Your prophet and the Imams, peace be upon them, and do not deprive me, Oh Lord, from visiting these honorable sanctuaries and noble positions. O Lord! Accept my repentance so that I may not disobey You, And inspire me with righteousness and its implementation, And the observance of Your presence in the night and the day as long as You let me live, O Allah and Cherisher of the worlds.

اے معبود! مجھے اپنی پاسداری میں زیرِ نگاہ رکھ اور اپنی حفاظت میں محفوظ فرما اپنی حمایت میں مجھے امان دے اور مجھے ہمارے اس سال اور آئندہ سالوں میں بھی اپنے بیت الحرام کعبہ کا حج نصیب فرما اور اپنے نبیؐ و ائمہؑ کے مزاروں کی زیارت نصیب فرما کہ ان سب پر سلام ہو اے پروردگار! ان بلند مرتبہ بارگاہوں اور ان با برکت مقامات سے مجھے بر کنار نہ رکھ اے معبود! مجھے ایسی توبہ کی توفیق دے کہ پھر تیری نا فرمانی نہ کروں میرے دل میں نیکی و عمل کا جذبہ ابھار دے اور جب تک مجھے زندہ رکھے دن رات اپنا خوف میرے قلب میں ڈالے رکھ اے جہانوں کے پالنے والے۔

O Lord! I, whenever I thought I was prepared and ready and rose to pray, before Your hands, and confided to You, You cast sleep on me when I prayed, and You prevented me from confiding to You when I confided, Why is it that whenever I felt content about the goodness of my core, and my companionships have neared that of the repentants, a sin would occur and cause my feet to stumble, and deprive me from Your service.

اے معبود! جب بھی میں کہتا ہوں کہ میں آمادہ و تیار ہوں اور تیرے حضور نماز بجالانےکے لئے کھڑا ہوتا ہوں اور تجھ سے مناجات کرتا ہوں تو مجھے اونگھ آجاتی ہے جب کہ میں نماز میں ہوتا ہوں اور جب میں تجھ سے راز و نیاز کرنے لگوں تو اس حال میں بر قرار نہیں رہتا مجھے کیا ہوگیا میں کہتا ہوں کہ میرا باطن صاف ہے میں توبہ کرنے والوں کی صحبت میں بیٹھتا ہوں ایسے میں کوئی آفت آپڑتی ہے جس سے میرے قدم ڈگمگا جاتے ہیں اور میرے اور تیری حضوری کے درمیان کوئی چیز آڑ بن جاتی ہے۔

O my Master, Maybe You have expelled me from Your door, and retired me from Your service, or maybe You observed my disregard of Your right on me and thus distanced me, or maybe You saw me headed away from (Your path) and thus You withdrew me, or maybe You found me to be in the position of the liars so You rejected me, or maybe You saw that I was not grateful of Your rewards so You deprived me, or maybe You observed my absence from the assembly of the scholars and thus put me down, or maybe You found me to be one of the unheeding so You despaired me from Your mercy, or maybe You found me frequenting the assembly of the unfaithful, so between me and them You deserted me, or maybe You did not like to listen to my prayers so You distanced me, or maybe You equated me with my crime and sin, or maybe You punished me for my lack of shyness from You.

میرے سردار! شاید کہ تو نے مجھے اپنی بارگاہ سے ہٹا دیا ہے اور اپنی خدمت سے دور کر دیا ہے یا شاید تو دیکھتا ہے کہ میں تیرے حق کو معمولی سمجھتا ہوں پس مجھے ایک طرف کردیا یا شاید تو نے دیکھا کہ میں تجھ سے روگرداں ہوں تو مجھے برا سمجھ لیا یا شاید تو نے دیکھا کہ میں جھوٹوں میں سے ہوں تو مجھے میرے حال پر چھوڑ دیا یا شاید تو دیکھتا ہے کہ میں تیری نعمتوں کا شکر ادا نہیں کرتا تو مجھے محروم کر دیا یا شاید کہ تو نے مجھے علماء کی مجالس میں نہیں پایا تو اس بنا پر مجھے ذلیل کر دیا ہے یا شاید تو نے مجھے غافل دیکھا تو اس پر مجھے اپنی رحمت سے مایوس کردیا ہے یا شاید تو نے مجھے بے کار باتیں کرنے والوں میں دیکھا تو مجھے انہیں میں رہنے دیا یا شاید تو نے میری دعاکو سننا پسند نہیں کیا تو مجھے دورکر دیا یا شاید تو نے مجھے میرے جرم اور گناہ کا بدلہ دیا ہے یا شاید میں نے تجھ سے حیا کرنے میں کمی کی تو مجھے یہ سزا ملی ہے۔

So if You forgive, O Lord, You have forgiven the many sinners before me. For Your generosity, O Lord, is higher than punishing the delinquents, and I am seeking refuge with Your bountifulness, and I am escaping from You to You, and anticipating Your promise to pardon those who possessed good convictions about You.

پس اے پروردگار! مجھے معاف کردے کہ مجھ سے پہلے تونے بہت سے گناہگاروں کو معاف فرمایا ہے اس لئے کہ اے پالنے والے تیری بخشش کوتاہی کرنے والوں کی سزا سے بزرگ ترہے اور میں تیرے فضل کی پناہ لے رہا ہوں اور تجھ سے تیری ہی طرف بھاگا ہوں تیرے وعدے کی وفا چاہتا ہوں کہ جو تجھ سے اچھا گمان رکھتا ہے اسے معاف کردے۔

O My Lord! You are more vast in bountifulness and greater in patience than to judge me according to my deed, or to stumble me with my sin. And who am I, my Master, and what is my danger? award me Your benevolence, O my Master! And render me Your pardon, and cover me with the protection of my secrets, and pardon me from Your chastisement with Your benevolent face.

میرے معبود! تیرا فضل وسیع تر اور تیری بردباری عظیم تر ہے اس سے کہ تو مجھے میرے عمل کے ساتھ تولے یا میرے گناہ کے باعث مجھے گرادے اور اے میرے آقا! میں کیا اور میری اوقات کیا مجھے اپنے فضل سے بخش دے میرے سردار اور اپنے عفوودرگزر کے صدقے میں مجھے اپنے پردے میں لے لے اور اپنے خاص کرم سے مجھے سرزنش وملامت سے معاف رکھ۔

O Master! I am the young one whom You raised, And I am the ignorant whom You educated, And I am the misled whom You guided, And I am the humiliated one whom You elevated, And I am the frightened one whom You safeguarded, And the hungry one whom You fed, And the thirsty whose thirst You quenched, And the naked whom You dressed, And the poor whom You made wealthy, And the weak whom You strengthened.

میرے سردار! میں وہی بچہ ہوں جسے تو نے پالا میں وہی کورا (جاہل) ہوں جسے تو نے علم دیا میں وہی گمراہ ہوں جسے تو نے راہ دکھائی میں وہ پست ہوں جسے تو نے بلند کیا میں وہ خوف زدہ ہوں جسے تو نے امن دیا میں وہ بھوکا ہوں جسے تو نے سیر کیا اورمیں وہ پیاسا ہوں جسے تو نے سیراب کیا میں وہ عریاں ہوں جسے تو نے لباس دیا۔ میں وہ محتاج ہوں جسے تونے غنی بنایا میں وہ کمزور ہوں جسے تو نے قوت بخشی

And the insignificant whom You honored, And the sick whom You cured, And the beggar whom You provided charity to, And the sinner whose secret You have protected, And the wrong doer whom You aided, And I am the little (creature) You made more significant, And the oppressed whom You made victorious, And I am the escapee whom You gave refuge to. I am the one, O Allah, who did not revere You (when I committed sins) in my seclusions, nor observed Your (commands) in public.

میں وہ پست ہوں جسے تو نے عزّت عطا فرمائی میں وہ بیمار ہوں جسے تو نے صحت عطا فرمائی میں وہ سائل ہوں جسے تو نے بہت کچھ عطا کیا میں وہ گناہگار ہوں جسے تو نے ڈھانپ لیا میں وہ خطاکار ہوں جسے تو نے معاف کیا میں وہ کمتر ہوں جسے تو نےبڑھا دیا ہے میں وہ کمزور ہوں جس کی تونے مدد کی اور میں وہ نکالا ہوا ہوں جسے تو نے پناہ دی اے پروردگار میں وہی ہوں جس نے خلوت میں تجھ سے حیا نہیں کی اور جلوت میں تیرا لحاظ نہیں رکھا۔

I am the possessor of the great craftiness (bad intentions), I am the one who dared His Master, I am the one who disobeyed the Commander of the skies, I am the one who awarded the briberies upon the disobeying of the Magnificent (Allah), I am the one who when I was forewarned about it (sins), I hastily raced to it.

میں بہت بھاری مصیبتوں والا ہوں میں وہ ہوں جس نے اپنے سردار پر جرأت کی میں وہ ہوں جس نے اس کی نافرمانی کی جو آسمانوں پر مسلط ہے میں وہ ہوں جس نے رب جلیل کی نا فرمانی کے لئے رشوت دی میں وہ ہوں جب مجھے اس کی خوش خبری ملی تو میں دوڑتا ہوا اس کی طرف گیا۔

I am the one whom You awaited (His reverence) but I did not comprehend, and You veiled my secret (sins) but I did not become demure, and I committed sins until I belligerently insisted, and You then disregarded me but I did not care, but with Your benevolence. You postponed my punishment, and with Your veil, You safeguarded my secret (sins) as if You have overlooked me, and You shielded me from punishment called upon me by my sins all to the extent that it appeared as if You shied off from me.

میں وہ ہوں جسے تو نے ڈھیل دی تو ہوش میں نہ آیا اور تونے میری پردہ پوشی کی تو میں نے حیا سے کام نہ لیا اور گناہوں میں حد سے گزر گیا تو نے مجھے نظروں سے گرایا تو میں نے کچھ پروا نہیں کی پس تو نے اپنی نرمی سے مجھے ڈھیل دی اور اپنے حجاب سے میری پردہ پوشی کی جیساکہ تو میری طرف سے بے خبر ہے تو نے مجھے نا فرمانیوں کی سزاؤں سے بر کنار رکھا گویا تو مجھ سے شرم کھاتا ہے۔

O my Lord! I did not disobey You when I did because I rejected Your divinity, or because I belittled Your commands, or that I was daringly challenging Your punishment, or that I did not appreciate Your forewarning, Yet the mistake has occurred, and my self misled me, and my sinful desires won over me, and my misery helped me to it, and Your protective veil over my sins lured me. For I have disobeyed You and opposed You with my own will, and now from Your retribution who would rescue me, and from the hands of my adversaries tomorrow (in the hereafter), who would redeem me, and with whose rope do I hold on to if You cut off Your rope from me.

میرے معبود! جب میں نے تیری نا فرمانی کی تو وہ اس لئے نہیں کی کہ میں تیری پروردگاری کا منکر تھا یا تیرے حکم کو معمولی سمجھ رہا تھا یا خود کو تیرے عذاب کی طرف کھینچ رہا تھا یا تیرے ڈراوے کو کمتر سمجھتا تھا بلکہ حقیقت یہ تھی کہ خطایوں ابھری کہ میرے نفس نے میرے لئے مزین کر دیا تھا میری خواہش مجھ پر غالب آگئی تھی میری بدبختی نے اس پر میرا ساتھ دیا تیری پردہ پوشی نے مجھے مغرور کردیا یوں میں تیری نافرمانی اور تیرے حکم کی مخالفت میں کوشاں ہوا پس اب مجھے تیرے عذاب سے کون رہائی دے گا کل کو مجھے دشمنوں کے ہاتھوں سے کون چھڑائے گا اور اگر تو نے اپنی رسّی مجھ سے کاٹ دی تو پھر میں کس کی رسّی کو تھاموں گا۔

So what a pity for what Your book has recorded on me, Indeed, if it was not for my anticipation of Your generosity and vast mercifulness as well as Your ordering me not to lose hope (in Your salvation) that I would have despaired whenever I remembered it (my sin). O the Best of whom a worshiper has ever prayed, and the Foremost of whom anyone has wished!

ہائے افسوس کہ تیری کتاب میں میرے ایسے ایسے اعمال درج ہوگئے کہ اگر میں تیرے فضل و کرم اور تیری وسیع رحمت کا امید وار نہ ہوتا اور نا امیدی سے تیری ممانعت کو نہ جانتا تو جب میں اپنے اعمال کو یاد کرتا تو ضرور ناامیدہوجاتا اے پکارے جانے والوں میں بہترین اور امید کئے جانے والوں میں برتر۔

O Lord! In the name of the esteemed Islam, I implore You, And with the holy Qur’an I rely on You, And with my love for the unschooled Prophet (Muhammad) The Quraishian (the main tribe in Mecca) The Hashimite (The family name of Prophet Muhammad), The Arabian, The Tuhamian (the name of the region where Quraish is located) The Meccan, The Medinan (tracing prophet Muhammad’s roots to the city of Medina where He migrated to), I seek to be closer to You (I seek favor to You) So please do not disrupt the serenity of my faith. And please do not cause my ultimate destiny to be similar to that of those who worshipped other than You.

اے معبود! میں اسلام کی پناہ میں تجھ کو اپنا وسیلہ بناتا ہوں احترامِ قرآن کے ساتھ مجھے تجھ پر بھروسہ ہے اور میں تیرے نبیؐ امی قرشی ہاشمی عربی تہامی مکی مدنی سے محبت کے واسطے سے تیری قربت کا امیدوار ہوں پس میری اس ایمانی انسیت کو وحشت میں نہ ڈال اور میرے ثواب کو اپنے غیر کے عبادت گزار کا ثواب قرار نہ دے۔

For, indeed there are some who believed only to the extent of their tongues so that they may save their lives and they gathered what they wished, But we have believed in You with our tongues and with our hearts so that You may pardon us. So grant us what we wish for, And anchor our hope in You, in our hearts, And do not let our hearts go astray after You have guided us, And grant us Your mercy, Indeed You are the Utmost Granter.

کیوں کہ ایک گروہ زبانی کلامی مومن ہے تاکہ اس کے ذریعے ان کا خون محفوظ رہے تو انہوں نے اپنا مقصد پالیا لیکن ہم تجھ پر اپنی زبانوں اور دلوں سے ایمان لائے ہیں تاکہ تو ہمیں معاف کردے پس ہماری امید پوری فرما اور اپنی آرزو ہمارے سینوں میں بسادے اور ہمارے دلوں کو ٹیڑھا نہ فرما اس کے بعد کہ جب تونے ہمیں ہدایت دی ہے اور اپنی طرف سے ہم پر رحمت فرما کہ بے شک تو بہت دینے والا ہے۔

And I swear with Your glory, that even if You send me away that I would not depart from Your door, and I would not cease to compliment You, for my heart has been fully inspired with the knowledge of Your benevolence and vastness of compassion. To where would a slave go but to his master, To where would a creature seek refuge but to his Creator.

پس قسم ہے تیری عزّت کی کہ اگر تو مجھے جھڑک دے تو بھی میں تیری بارگاہ سے نہ ہٹوں گا اور تیری توصیف کرنے سے زبان نہ روکوں گا کیوں کہ میرا دل تیرے فضل و کرم اور تیری وسیع رحمت کی معرفت سے بھرا ہوا ہے تو غلام اپنے مولا و آقا کے سوا کس کی طرف جا سکتا ہے اور مخلوق کو اپنے خالق کےعلاوہ کہاں پناہ مل سکتی ہے۔

O my Lord! Even if You tied me with the chains of hell, And You deprived me Your flowing stream (of favors) from between the witnesses (of the day of Judgment), And You pointed out my scandals to the eyes of Your worshipers, And You ordered me to hell And You isolated me from the company of the faithfuls, I would not end my hope in You, and I would not dismiss my reassurance of Your pardon, and my love to You would not depart from my heart, I do not forget the helping hand You bestowed upon me, and Your protection of my secrets in life.

میرے اﷲ!اگر تونے مجھے زنجیروں میں جکڑ دیا اور مجمع عام میں مجھ سے اپنا فیض روک دیا اور لوگوں کے سامنے میری رسوائیاں ظاہر کر دیں اور میرے جہنم کا حکم صادر کر دیا اور تو میرے اور نیک لوگوں کے درمیان حائل ہو جائے تو بھی میں تجھ سے امید نہ توڑوں گا تجھ سے عفوودرگزر کی امید رکھنے سے باز نہ آؤں گا اور میرے دل سے تیری محبت ختم نہ ہوگی میں دنیا میں دی گئی تیری نعمتوں اور گناہوں پر تیری پردہ پوشی کو ہرگز نہیں بھول سکتا۔

O my Master! Remove the adoration of worldliness from my heart, And unite me with Mustafa (Muhammad: the chosen messenger) and his family, the dearest of Your creatures and the last of the prophets, Muhammad, Peace from Allah upon him and his family, And transfer me to the level of repentance to You, And help me to cry for myself for I have wasted my life away with procrastination and false hopes, And now I have come to You hopeless of my goodness.

میرے آقا! میرے دل سے دنیا کی محبت نکال دے اور مجھے اپنی مخلوق میں سب سے بہتر نبیوں کے خاتم محمد مصطفیٰؐ اور ان کی آلؑ کے قریب جگہ عنایت فرما اور مجھے اپنے حضور توبہ کے مقام کی طرف پلٹا دے اور مجھے خود اپنے آپ پر رونے کی توفیق دے کیوں کہ میں نے اپنی عمر ٹال مٹول اور جھوٹی آرزوؤں میں گنوا دی اور اب میں اپنی نیکیوں سے مایوس ہو جانے کو ہوں۔

Who is more worse off than me, if now I am passed on in my present state to a grave that I have not prepared for my repose and I did not line with good deeds for my drowse, And why would I not weep for I have no knowledge of my fate and I observe my self deceiving itself, and my days are fading away, and the wings of death have flapped close by.

تو مجھ سے برا حال اور کس کا ہوگااگر میں اسی حال کے ساتھ ہی اپنی قبر میں اتار دیاجاؤں جب کہ میں نے قبرکے لئے کچھ سامان نہیں کیا اور نیک اعمال کا بستر نہیں بچھایا کہ آرام پاؤں ایسے میں کیوں گریہ وزاری نہ کروں کہ مجھے نہیں معلوم میرا انجام کیا ہوگا میں دیکھتا ہوں کہ نفس مجھے دھوکہ دیتا ہے اور حالات مجھے فریب دیتے ہیں اور اب موت نے میرے سر پر اپنے پر پھیلائے ہوئے ہیں۔

So why wouldn’t I cry! I cry for surrendering my life, I cry because of the darkness of my grave, I cry because of the narrowness of my grave, I cry for the questioning of Munkar and Nakeer of me (the names of the two angels that question the dead after being laid in the graves), I cry from my leaving my grave (in the hereafter) naked, humiliated and carrying my book (of deeds) on my back. I look to the right once and to the left once and I discover that people today have other concern than mine, for every person that day has a concern of his own, some faces today are bright, laughing and joyful, while other faces that day are dusty, loaded with submission and humility.

تو کیسے گریہ نہ کروں میں جان کے نکل جانے پر گریہ کرتا ہوں قبر کی تاریکی اور اس کے پہلو کی تنگی پر گریہ کرتا ہوں منکر نکیر کے سوالات کے ڈر سے گریہ کرتا ہوں خاص کر اس لئے گریہ کرتا ہوں کہ مجھے قبر سے اٹھنا ہے کہ عریانی ورسوائی کے ساتھ اپنے گناہوں کا بار لئے ہوئے دائیں بائیں دیکھوں گا جب دوسرے لوگ ایسے حال میں ہوں گے جو میرے حال سے مختلف ہوگا ان میں سے ہر شخص دوسروں سے بے خبر اپنے حال میں مگن ہوگا اس روز بعض چہرے کشادہ خنداں اور خوش ہوں گے اور بعض چہرے ایسے ہوں گے جن پر گرد و غبار اور تنگی و ذلت کا غلبہ ہوگا۔

O Master! I settle my destination, dependence, hope and reliance upon You, And with Your mercy, I cling; You bestow Your mercy on whomever You please and You guide with Your benevolence whomever You like. So praise to You for Your purifying my heart from taking false partners to You, And praise to You for releasing my tongue, Is it with this heavy tongue of mine I thank You or with the utmost effort of mine do I satisfy You? And what is the value of my tongue. O Lord, when it comes to thanking You?

میرے سردار تو ہی میرا سہارا ہے تو ہی میری تکیہ گاہ ہے تو ہی میری امید گاہ ہے تجھی پر مجھے بھروسہ ہے اور تیری رحمت سے تعلق ہے تو جسے چاہے رحمت سے نوازتا ہے اور جسے تو پسند کرے اس کو اپنی مہربانی کی راہ دکھاتا ہے پس حمد تیرے ہی لئے ہے کہ تو نے میرے دل کو شرک سے پاک کیا تیرے ہی لئے حمد ہے کہ تو نے میری زبان کو گویا کیا آیا میں اس کج زبان سے تیرا شکر ادا کر سکتا ہوں یا عمل میں کوشش کر کے تجھے راضی کر سکتا ہوں اے پروردگار! تیری حمد کے برابر میری زبان کی کیا حیثیت ہے

And what is the value of my good deeds beside Your gifts and fortitude with me? O my Lord! Indeed Your generosity has expanded my hope (in You), And your acceptance has led to the taking of my deed. O my Master! To You I direct my aim, fear, and meditation, And my hope has driven me to You, And on You O my Only One, I concentrate my initiative, And upon what You possess I unfolded my desire, And my ultimate hope and fear rest upon You, And with You, I cheerfully contemplated Your adoration And I spread my hands wide open to You, And with the rope of Your obedience I stretched out my fear.

اور تیری نعمتوں اور احسانوں کے سامنے میرے عمل کا کیا وزن ہے۔ میرے معبود! تیری سخاوت نے میری آرزو کو بڑھایا اور تیری قدر دانی نے میرے عمل کو قبول فرمایا ہے میرے سردار میری رغبت تیری طرف اور خوف بھی تجھی سے ہے میری امید تیری ذات سے ہے اور یہ مجھے تیرے حضور کھینچ لائی ہے اے خدائے یکتا میری ہمت تیرے حضور پہنچ کے ختم ہو گئی اور میری رغبت تیرے خزانے کے گرد گھوم رہی ہے میری امید اور میرا خوف خاص تیرے لئے ہے میری محبت تیرے ساتھ لگی ہوئی ہے میرے ہاتھ نے تیرا دامن تھام رکھا ہے میرے خوف نے مجھے تیری اطاعت کی طرف بڑھایا ہے۔

O my Lord! In Your remembrance, my heart flourished, And in confiding to You, I relieved my pain of fright. So, O my Lord! And O the One whom I hope! And O the One who is the Ultimate Destination and Grantor of my request! Separate between me and this sin of mine that disables me from abiding by Your obedience. For I only ask You due to the ancient and long resting of hope upon You as well as the great coveting of You, in what You obliged yourself with from compassion and mercy. Evidently, the command is yours, for You are the only One without partners, and all creatures are in Your maintenance and within Your grip, and everything submits to You, blessed You are O Lord and Cherisher of the worlds.

اے میرے آقا! میرا دل تیرے ذکر سے زندہ ہے اور تیری مناجات کے ذریعے میں نے اپنا خوف دور کیا ہے پس اے میرے مولا! اور میری امید گاہ اے میرے سوال کی انتہا میرے اور میرے اس گناہ کے درمیان جدائی ڈال دے جو مجھے تیری اطاعت سے روکتا ہے پس میں تجھ سے ازلی امید اور بڑی خواہش رکھتے ہوئے سوال کرتا ہوں اس مہربانی اور عنایت کا جو تو نے اپنی ذات پر واجب کی ہوئی ہے پس حکم تیرا ہی ہے تو یکتا ہے تیرا کوئی ثانی نہیں ہے اور ساری مخلوق تیرا کنبہ ہے جو تیرے اختیار میں ہے اور ہر چیز تیرے سامنے جھکی ہوئی ہے تو با برکت ہے اے جہانوں کے پالنے والے۔

O my Lord! Bestow Your mercy upon me when my excuses have failed and when my tongue has ceased to be able to answer to You (on judgment day) and my intellect has subsided upon Your questioning, So O to whom I submit my utmost hope, do not disappoint me when my tragedy has intensified, and do not reject me due to my ignorance, and do not deprive me (Your mercy) due to my lack of patience, and provide for me for I am poor, and bestow Your mercy upon me for I am weak.

میرے اﷲ!مجھ پر رحم فرما جب میرے پاس عذر نہ رہے تیرے حضور بولنے میں میری زبان گنگ ہو جائے اور تیرے سوال پر میری عقل گم ہو جائے پس میری سب سے بڑی امید گاہ مجھے اس وقت ناامید نہ کر جب میری حاجت سخت ہو مجھے نا دانی پر دور نہ فرما میری کم صبری پر محروم نہ رکھ میری حاجت کے مطابق عطا کر اور میری کمزوری پر رحم فرما۔

O my Master! Upon You I rest my dependence, destination, hope and reliance, And with Your mercy I cling, And on Your grounds, I conclude my journey, And to Your generosity I direct my request, And with Your generosity. O Allah, I commence my prayer, And with You I seek relief from my indigence, And with Your wealth I mend my poverty, And under the shadow of Your pardon, I stand, And to Your generosity and benevolence, I raise my eyesight, And to Your favor, I prolong my vision, So, burn me not in the hell fire because You are where I place my hope, And, reside me not in the bottomless pit (hell) for You are indeed the comfort of my eye.

میرے سردار! تو ہی میرا آسرا ہے تجھ پر بھروسہ ہے تجھی سے امید ہے تجھی پر توکل اور تیری رحمت سے تعلق ہے تیری ڈیوڑھی پر ڈیرا ڈالے ہوئے ہوں تیری سخاوت سے اپنی حاجت پوری کرناچاہتا ہوں اے میرے رب تیرے کرم سے اپنی دعا کی ابتدا کرتا ہوں تجھ سے تنگی دور کرنے کی امید کرتا ہوں تیرے خزانوں سے اپنی عسرت[تنگ دستی] دور کرانا چاہتا ہوں تیرے عفوودرگزر کے سائے میں آکر کھڑا ہوں میری نگاہیں تیری عطا و سخاوت کی طرف اٹھتی ہیں اور ہمیشہ تیرے احسان کی طرف نظر جمائے رکھتا ہوں پس مجھے جہنم میں نہ جلانا کہ تو میری امید کا مرکز ہے اور مجھے ہاویہ دوزخ میں نہ ٹھہرانا کیوں کہ تو میری آنکھوں کی ٹھنڈک ہے۔

O my Master! Disappoint not my expectation in Your benevolence and known favor because You are my Confidant and Security, And do not deprive me of Your reward for You are Aware of my poverty. O my Lord! If the end of my life has neared and my deeds did not bring me near You, then I hereby render my admission of sin as my justification. O my Lord! If You pardon (me), then no one is more worthy of pardoning than You, And if You punish (me), then no one is more just than You in judgment.

اے میرے آقا! تیرے احسان اور بھلائی سے مجھے جو گمان ہے اس کو نہ جھٹلا کیوں کہ تو ہی میری جائےاعتماد ہے اور مجھے اپنے ثواب سے محروم نہ فرما تو میری محتاجی سے واقف ہے میرے اﷲ!اگر میری موت قریب آگئی ہے اور میرے عمل نے مجھے تیرے نزدیک نہیں کیا تو میں اپنے گناہوں کے اقرار کو تیرے حضور اپنے گناہوں کا عذر قرار دیتا ہوں میرے معبود! اگر تو معاف کردے تو کون تجھ سے زیادہ معاف کرنے والا ہے اور اگر تو عذاب دے تو کون ہے جو فیصلہ کرنے میں تجھ سے زیادہ عادل ہے۔

(O Lord) have mercy toward my expatriation in this life, and my tragedy upon death, and my solitude in the grave, and my loneliness in the grave, and because whenever I am dispatched for judgment before Your hands, my situation is humiliated, and forgive what is concealed from the humans of my (secretive bad) deeds, and prolong for me what You veiled my (secret sins) with, and confer Your benevolence on me when I am (laying) motionless on the (death) bed so that the beloved of my relatives surround me.

اس دنیا میں میری بے کسی پر رحم فرما اور موت کے وقت میری تکلیف پر اور قبر میں میری تنہائی اور پہلوئے قبر میں میری خوف زدگی پر رحم فرما جب میں حساب کے لئے اٹھایا جاؤں تو اپنے حضور میرے کھڑے ہونے کی ذلت پر رحم فرما میرے اعمال میں سے جو لوگوں سے مخفی ہیں ان کو معاف فرما میری جو پردہ پوشی کی ہے اسے دائمی کر دے اور اس وقت رحم فرما جب میرے دوست بستر پرمیرے پہلو بدل رہے ہوں گے۔

And grant me Your bountifulness when I am stretched on the funeral bath so that the good-deeded of my community may wash me, and bestow Your kindred tenderness upon me when I am carried while my relatives hand over the extremities of my coffin, and award me Your generosity when I am transported and finally delivered and left alone in my grave, and have mercy on my solitary confinement in this new residence so that I may not be comforted by anyone but You.

اس وقت رحم فرما جب میرے نیک ہمسائے تختۂ غسل پر مجھے ادھر سے ادھر کرتے ہوں گے اس وقت مہربانی فرما جب میرے رشتہ دار میرا جنازہ چاروں طرف سے اٹھائے ہوئے لے جائیں گے اور مجھ پر اس وقت بخشش کر جب تیرے حضور آؤں گا اور قبر میں تنہا ہوں گا اور اس نئے گھر میں میری بے کسی پر رحم و کرم فرما یہاں تک کہ تیرے سوا کسی اور سے لگاؤ نہ ہو۔

O my Master! If You entrusted me (with my affairs), I would perish My Master, then whom do I seek rescue with if You would not avert my stumble, To whom would I seek shelter with if I lost Your kindred care in my dormancy, To whom would I resort to if You did not relieve my destitution.

اے میرے آقا! اگر تو نے مجھے میرے حال پر چھوڑ دیا تو میں تباہ ہو جاؤں گا میرے سردار! اگر تو نے خطا معاف نہ کی تو کس سے مدد مانگوں؟ اگر اس مصیبت میں مجھ پر تیری عنایت نہ ہو تو کس سے فریاد کروں؟ اور اگر تو میری تنگی دور نہ کرے تو کسے اپنا حال سناؤں؟

My Master! Who will be on my side and who will bestow mercy on me if You do not? And whose bounties would I anticipate if I lacked Your grants on the day of my destitution (judgment day)? And to where shall I run away from my sins when my fate is concluded? My Master! Punish me not while I am pleading to You! O my Lord! Fulfill my desire and secure my fright because I can not avert (the result of) my numerous sins except with Your pardon.

میرے سردار اگر تو مجھ پر رحم نہ کرے تو پھر میرا کون ہے جو مجھ پر رحم کرے گا؟ اگر اس ضرورت کے دن مجھ پر تیرا کرم نہ ہو تو کس سے اس کی امید کروں؟ جب میرا وقت ختم ہو جائے تو گناہوں سے بھاگ کر کس کے پاس جاؤں؟ میرے سردار مجھے عذاب نہ دینا کہ میں امید لے کر آیا ہوں میرے اﷲ!میری امید پوری فرما اور خوف سے امان دے پس گناہوں کی کثرت میں تیرے عفوودرگزر کے سوا مجھے کسی سے امید نہیں۔

My Master! I am asking You for what I do not deserve, but You are the Lord of righteousness and the Lord of forgiveness, So, forgive for me and veil me from Your sight with a cloak that masks all my liabilities, thus forgiving me so that I may never be reclaimed with it, Indeed, You are the possessor of ancient favor, great pardon and generous forgiveness.

میرے آقا! میں تجھ سے وہ کچھ مانگتا ہوں جس کا حق دار نہیں ہوں اور تو ڈھانپنے والا اور بخشنے والا ہے پس مجھے بخش دے تو اپنی نظر کرم سے مجھے ایسا لباس دے کہ جو میری خطاؤں کو چھپالے تو وہ خطائیں معاف کردے کہ ان پر باز پُرس نہ ہو بے شک تو قدیمی نعمت والا بڑا درگزر کرنے والا اور مہربان معاف کرنے والا ہے۔

O my Lord! You are the One who overflows the streams (of favors) on those who do not even implore You and on those who rejected Your divinity, So how would You not, O Master, grant the same to the one who implored You and submitted with certainty that the creation is yours and the command is to You? Praised and glorified You are, O Lord and Cherisher of the worlds.

میرے اللہ! تو وہ ہے جو سوال نہ کرنے والوں اور اپنی ربوبیت کے منکر لوگوں کو بھی اپنے فیض و کرم سے نوازتا ہے تو میرے سردار کیوں کر وہ محروم رہے گا جو تجھ سے مانگتا ہے اور یقین رکھتا ہے کہ پیدا کرنا اور حکم دینا خاص تیرے ہی لئے ہے بابرکت اور بلندتر ہے تو اے جہانوں کے پالنے والے۔

O my Master! Your slave is at Your doorstep. His desperate need has rooted him before Your hands. He knocks on the gate of Your generosity with his prayer, and he solicits Your gracious consideration (in relieving his dilemma) through his hearty anticipation (in You). So please do not turn Your honorable face away from me and accept from me what I plead for, For I have pleaded with this prayer and I am hopeful that You would not turn me down, since I have always known of Your benevolence and mercy. O my Lord! You are the one who is never burdened by the pleas of the beseecher, nor are You ever encumbered in rewarding (Your) grantee, Verily, You are how You describe Yourself and above what we describe.

اے میرے آقا! تیرا بندہ حاضر ہے جسے اس کی تنگی نے تیرے دروازے پر لاکرکھڑا کیا ہے وہ اپنی دعا کے ذریعے تیرے احسان کا دروازہ کھٹکھٹا رہا ہے پس اپنی ذات کے واسطے مجھے اپنی توجہ سے محروم نہ فرما اور میری عرض قبول کرلے میں نے اس دعا کے ذریعے تجھے پکارا ہے اور امید رکھتا ہوں کہ تو اسے رد نہ کرے گا کیوں کہ مجھے مہربانی اور رحمت کی معرفت ہے میرے معبود! تو وہ ہے جس سے سائل کو اصرار نہیں کرنا پڑتا اور عطا کرنے سے تجھ میں کمی نہیں آتی تو ایسا ہے جیسا تو بتاتا ہے اور اس سے بلند ہے جیسا ہم کہتے ہیں۔

O my Lord! I ask You (to grant me) a rewarding patience, a neighboring relief, a true affirmation, and a great reward; I ask You, O my Lord, for all the good whether I know of it or not, I ask You, O my Lord, for the best of what have asked You Your righteous believers.

اے معبود! میں مانگتا ہوں تجھ سے بہترین صبر جلدتر آسائش سچ بولنے کی توفیق اور بیش تر ثواب کی عطاوبخشش اے پروردگار! میں تجھ سے ہر بھلائی کا سوالی ہوں جسے میں جانتا ہوں اور جسے نہیں جانتا اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے وہ چیز مانگتا ہوں جو تیرے نیک بندے تجھ سے مانگتے ہیں۔

O the Foremost of whom was ever asked! and the Most Generous that has ever given, Fulfill my quest in myself, my family, parents, children, proximate community, and my brothers (and sisters) in You, And enrich my living, and ascend my bravery and improve all of my affairs, And cause me to be a (person) whom You have destined to have prolonged his life, and improved his deeds, and consummated Your gifts upon him, and accepted his performance, and made live a good life in permanent joy utmost integrity, and complete living, Indeed, You do as You please, and not as others please.

اے بہترین مسؤل اور سوال کیے ہوئے اور عطا کرنے والوں میں بہترین میں اپنے لئے اپنے کنبے اپنے والدین کے لئے اپنی اولاد تعلق داروں اور دینی بھائیوں کے لئے جو چاہتا ہوں عطا فرما اور میری زندگی بہترین میری اچھائی ظاہر اور میرے تمام حالات کو سدھار دے اور مجھے ان لوگوں میں قرار دے جن کو تو نے لمبی عمر دی ان کے عمل کو نیک گردانا ان کو اپنی بہت سی نعمتیں عطا کیں اور تو ان سے راضی ہوگیا اور ان کو پاکیزہ زندگی بخشی جس میں وہ سدا خوش رہے ان کو عزّت دار بنایا اور روزگار کو مکمل فرما کیوں کہ خود تو جو چاہے کرتا ہے اور جو تیرا غیر چاہے تو وہ نہیں کرسکتا۔

O Lord! Distinguish me with Your distinctive remembrance, And do not allow any of what I seek closeness to You with (of good deeds), in the midst of nights or the extremes of days, to be an object of pretension, seeking of reputation, arrogance, or extravagance. And cause me to be of those who humble themselves to You.

اے معبود! مجھے اپنے ذکر کے ساتھ خاص فرما اور رات کے وقتوں اور دن کے گوشوں میں جس عمل سے تیری قربت چاہتا ہوں اس میں میری طرف سے ریا اور تعریف کی خواہش خودستائی اور بڑائی کا احساس نہ آنے دے اور مجھے ان میں قرار دے جو تجھ سے ڈرتے ہیں۔

O my Lord! Award me vastness in sustenance, And security in my homeland, And the comfort of the eye in family, finances and offspring, And the continued enjoyment of Your bounties, And health and strength in the body, And safeguard in faith, And forever utilize me in (establishing) Your obedience and that of Prophet Muhammad peace of Allah upon him and his household, as everlong as You advance my age.

اے معبود! مجھے روزی میں کشائش ووسعت، وطن میں امن اور میرے رشتہ داروں اور میرے مال اور میری اولاد کے بارے میں آنکھوں کی ٹھنڈک عطا فرما اور اپنی نعمتوں کا مجھ پر قائم رہنا، بدن میں صحت و درستی اور توانائی دے اور دین میں سلامتی عنایت فرما اورمجھے ایسے عمل کی توفیق دے کہ میں تیری بندگی اور تیرے رسول حضرت محمدؐ کی فرماں برداری میں رہوں۔ جب تک تو مجھے زندہ رکھے

And compel me to have the biggest share among Your worshipers in whatever good You ever caused to descend and especially what You award in the month of Ramadan, in the Night of the Decree, and what You are awarding every year from mercy that You dispense, and good health that You harness, and crises that You deter, and good deeds that You accept and bless, and sins that You acquit, And allot me with the ability to conduct pilgrimage to Your holy house in this year and every year thereafter, And grant me vast sustenance from Your vast bounties.

مجھے اپنے ان بندوں میں قرار دے جن کا حصہ تیرے ہاں ان بھلائیوں میں بہت زیادہ ہے جو تو نے نازل کیں اور نازل کرتا ہے ماہِ رمضان میں اور شبِ قدر میں اور جو تو ہرسال کے دوران نازل کرتا ہے یعنی وہ رحمت جسے تو پھیلاتا ہے وہ آرام جو تو دیتا ہے وہ سختی جسے تو دور کرتا ہے وہ نیکیاں جو تو قبول کرتا ہے اور وہ گناہ جو تو معاف فرماتا ہے اور مجھے اپنے بیت الحرام کعبہ کا حج اس سال اور آئندہ سالوں میں بھی نصیب فرما اور مجھ کو اپنے وسعت والے فضل سے کشادہ رزق دے۔

And protect me, O my Master, from encountering the misfortunes (of life) And fulfill on my behalf all my borrowing and satisfy any injustice (I committed to others) so that I may not be harmed by any of it, And preoccupy the hearing and sight of my enemies and the jealous and those who oppress me and award me victory over them, And comfort my eye, And delight my heart, And award me relief and resolution in all of my misfortunes and extremities, And compel any one who wishes me harm from all Your creatures, to be beneath my feet.

اور اے میرے سردار بری چیزوں کو مجھ سے دوررکھ میرے قرض اور ناحق لی ہوئی چیزوں کو میری طرف سے لوٹا دے حتیٰ کہ مجھ پر ایذاواذیت نہ رہے اور میرے دشمنوں حاسدوں اور مخالفوں کے کان اور آنکھیں میری طرف سے بند کردے اور ان کے مقابل میری مدد فرما میری آنکھیں ٹھنڈی کر اور میرے دل کو فرحت دے میری تکلیف اور پریشانی کے دور ہوجانے کا ذریعہ پیدا کردے تیری ساری مخلوقات میں سے جو جو میرے لئے برا ارادہ رکھتا ہے اسے میرے پاؤں تلے ڈال دے۔

And guard me from the evil of Satan and the evil of the monarch as well as the evil brought about by my wrong doings, And cleanse me from all sins, And salvage me from the hell fire with Your (divine) pardon, And award me paradise with Your mercy, And marry me to the companions with the beautiful, big and lustrous eyes with Your bountifulness, And reunite me with Your righteous servants Muhammad and his household, the righteous, the virtuous, the pure and the elite, Your peace, mercy and blessings be upon them, their bodies, and their souls.

اور شیطان و سلطان کے شر اور برے اعمال سے بچنے میں میری مدد فرمااور مجھے سب گناہوں سے پاک صاف کردے اپنی درگذر کے ساتھ مجھے جہنم سے پناہ دے اپنی رحمت سے مجھے جنت میں داخل کراپنے فضل سے حور العین کو میری بیوی بنادے اور مجھے اپنے پیاروں اور نیکوکاروں کے ساتھ جگہ دے جو حضرت محمدؐ اور ان کی خوش کردار آلؑ ہیں اور پاکیزہ شفاف اور پاک دل ان پر ان کے جسموں پر اور ان کی روحوں پر رحمت فرما اور ان پر رحمتِ خدا اور اس کی برکتیں ہوں۔

O my Lord and my Master! I swear with Your exalted might and majesty that if You reclaim my sins that I will call upon Your mercy, and if You reclaim my meanness, I will call upon Your generosity, and if You forward me to the hell fire, I will inform its inmates about my adoration of You. O my Lord and my Master! If You were to not forgive but Your devotees and constant obeyers, then to whom would the sinners resort to? And if You were to not honor but the people of loyalty to You, then to whom the offenders would resort to?

میرے اللہ و میرے آقا! تیری عزّت و جلالت کی قسم کہ اگر تو میرے گناہوں کی بازپُرس کرے گا تو میں تیرے عفوودرگزر کی خواہش کروں گا اگر تو نے میری پستی پر سوال کیا تو میں تیری مہربانی کی تمنا کروں گا اگر تو مجھے دوزخ میں ڈالے گا تو میں وہاں کے لوگوں کو بتاؤں گا کہ میں تجھ سے محبت کرتا رہا ہوں میرے معبود میرے سردار! اگر تو نے اپنے پیاروں اور فرماں برداروں کے سوا کسی کو معافی نہ دی تو گناہ گار لوگ کس سے فریاد کر سکیں گے ؟اور اگر تو صرف اپنے وفا داروں کو عزّت عطا فرمائے گا تو پھر خطا کار لوگ کس سے نالہ وفریاد کریں گے؟

O my Lord! If You cause me to enter the hell fire, it will be to the pleasure of Your enemy, But if You cause me to enter paradise, it will be to the pleasure of Your Prophet, And by Allah, I know that the pleasure of Your Prophet is more favorable to You than the pleasure of Your enemy. O my Lord! I ask You to saturate my heart with Your love, fearing and observing You, believing in Your (holy) book, faith in You, fright from You, and longing to You. O the one who is full of majesty, bounty and honor! Render me loving of Your meeting and love my meeting, And grant me in meeting You comfort, happiness and honor.

میرے معبود! اگر تو مجھے جہنم میں ڈالے گا تو اس میں تیرے دشمنوں ہی کو خوشی ہوگی اور اگر تو نے مجھے جنت میں داخل کیا تو اس میں تیرے نبیؐ کو مسرت ہوگی اور قسم بخدا! میں یہ جانتا ہوں کہ تجھے اپنے دشمن کی خوشی کی نسبت اپنے نبیؐ کی خوشی منظور ہے اے اللہ! میں سوالی ہوں تجھ سے کہ میرے دل کو اپنی محبت سے اپنے رعب سے اور اپنی کتاب کی تصدیق سے بھردے نیز میرے دل کو ایمان خوف اور شوق سے پُر کردے اے بزرگی اور عزّت کے مالک! میرے لئے اپنی حضوری محبوب بنا اور مجھ سے ملاقات کو محبوب رکھ اور میرے لئے اپنی ملاقات کو خوشی کشادگی اور فخر و عزّت کا ذریعہ بنا۔

O my Lord! Unite me with the virtuous of those who preceded me, And render me to be among the virtuous of who remained, And lead me to the way of the virtuous, And aid me in restraining myself (from sin) with whatever You aid Your righteous believers with, And culminate my deeds with their best, And make my reward from it heaven with Your mercy, And assist me in implementing the virtues that You granted me. And anchor me (on the right path) O Lord! And return me not to an error You rescued me from before, O the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds!

اے معبود! مجھے گزرے ہوئے نیک لوگوں سے ملحق فرمادے اور موجودہ نیک لوگوں میں شامل کردے میرے لئے نیکوکاروں کا راستہ مقرر کردے اور میرے نفس کے بارے میں میری مدد کر جیسے تو اپنے نیک بندوں کی ان کے نفسوں پر مدد فرماتا ہے میرے عمل کا انجام خیر کے ساتھ کر اور اپنی رحمت سے اس کے ثواب میں مجھے جنت عطا فرما اور جو نیک عمل تو نے مجھے عطا کیا ہے اس پر مجھ کو ثابت قدم رکھ اے پالنے والے اور جس برائی سے مجھے نکالا ہے اس کی طرف نہ پلٹا اے جہانوں کے پروردگار!

O my Lord! I ask You to grant me a faith that has no maturity until I meet You, Prolong my life as long as You maintain me on it, and claim my soul as long as You claim my soul while it is on it (faith), and resurrect me as long as You resurrect me on it; And purify my heart from pretension, doubt, and seeking reputation through Your religion so that all my deeds would be solely intended for You.

اے معبود! میں تجھ سے وہ ایمان مانگتا ہوں جو تیرے حضور میری پیشی سے پہلے ختم نہ ہو مجھے زندہ رکھنا ہے تو اسی پر زندہ رکھ اور موت دینی ہے تو اسی پر دے جب مجھے اٹھائے تو اسی پر اٹھا کھڑا کر اور میرے دل کو دین میں دکھاوے، شک اور ستائش طلبی سے پاک رکھ یہاں تک کہ میراعمل تیرے لئے خاص ہوجائے۔

O my Lord! Award me insight in Your religion And understanding in Your judgment, And awareness in Your knowledge, And two portions of Your mercy And piety that shields me from committing sin, And brighten my face with Your light, And render my affinity solely in what You possess, And claim my soul on Your path and on the religion of Your Prophet, Peace of Allah upon him and his household.

اے معبود! مجھے اپنے دین کی پہچان اپنے حکم کی سمجھ اور اپنے علم کی سوجھ بوجھ عنایت فرما اور مجھے اپنی رحمت کے دونوں حصے دے اور ایسی پرہیزگاری دے جو مجھے تیری نافرمانی سے روکے اور میرے چہرے کو اپنے نور سے روشن فرما میری چاہت اس میں قرار دے جو تیرے پاس ہے اور مجھے اپنی راہ میں اور اپنے رسولؐ کے گروہ میں موت دے کہ ان پر اور ان کی آلؑ پر خدا کی رحمت ہو۔

O my Lord! I seek refuge with You from laziness, failure, misery, cowardliness, stinginess, unawareness, cruelty, humility, poverty, indigence and every calamity; and the exorbitant of sins whether they are apparent or concealed, And I seek refuge in You from a self that is never content, and a stomach that is never satisfied, and a heart that is never pious, and a prayer that is not accepted, and a deed that is not beneficial (if committed). And I depend upon You O Lord, to safeguard my self, my religion, my finances, and all of what You awarded me, from the evil of the cursed Satan; Indeed, You are the One who hears and knows all things.

اے معبود! میں سستی، بددلی، پریشانی، بزدلی، کنجوسی، غفلت، سنگ دلی، خواری اور فقر و فاقہ سے تیری پناہ حاصل کرتا ہوں اور تمام سختیوں اور بے حیائی کے ظاہر اور پوشیدہ کاموں سے تیری پناہ حاصل کرتا ہوں اور تیری پناہ حاصل کرتا ہوں سیر نہ ہونے والے نفس پُر نہ ہونے والے شکم، نہ ڈرنے والے دل، سنی نہ جانے والی دعا اور فائدہ نہ دینے والے کام سے اور تیری پناہ حاصل کرتا ہوں اے پالنے والے اپنے نفس اپنے دین اپنے مال اور جو تو نے مجھے دیا ہے اس میں بھگائے ہوئے شیطان سے بے شک تو سننے جاننے والا ہے۔

O my Lord! Indeed no one can shield me from Your (punishment) and I can not find before You any other shelter, So leave not in me any deed worthy of Your punishment and lead me not back into jeopardy and lead me not into painful retribution. O my Lord! Accept my prayer And renown my commemoration, And elevate my degree, And forgive my sin. And remember me not with my bad deed, And culminate the reward of my convening, my speaking, and my prayer in Your satisfaction and heaven. And award me, O Lord, all of what I asked You and increase it with Your bountifulness; Indeed, I am truly full of desire toward You, O Lord and Cherisher of the worlds.

اے معبود! سچ تو یہ ہے کہ تجھ سے مجھے کوئی پناہ نہیں دے سکتا نہ ہی تیرے سوا کوئی پناہ گاہ پاتا ہوں پس میرے نفس کو اپنی طرف کے کسی عذاب میں نہ ڈال اور نہ مجھے کسی تباہی کی طرف پلٹا اور نہ مجھے دردناک عذاب کی طرف روانہ کر اے معبود! میرا عمل قبول فرما میرے ذکر کو بلند کر میرے مقام کو اونچا کر اور میرے گناہ مٹادے مجھے میرے گناہوں کے ساتھ یاد نہ فرما اور میرے بیٹھنے کا ثواب میری گفتگو کا ثواب اور میری دعا کا ثواب اپنی خوشنودی و جنت کی شکل میں دے اور اے پالنے والے! وہ سب کچھ دے جو میں نے مانگا ہے اور اپنے فضل سے اس میں اضافہ کردے بے شک میں تیری چاہت رکھتا ہوں اے جہانوں کے پالنے والے۔

O my Lord! You have revealed in Your (holy) book for us to forgive those who committed injustice toward us, and we have committed injustice (by sinning) toward ourselves so pardon our conduct, for You are more worthy of pardoning than we are; And You commanded us not turn away the needy who knock on our doors, and I hereby come to You needy, so turn me not away until You fulfill my need; And You commanded us to treat justly those whose freedom reins we hold, and You hold our reins of freedom, so liberate our necks from the hell fire.

اے معبود! بے شک تو نے اپنی کتاب میں یہ حکم نازل کیا ہے کہ جو ہم پر ظلم کرے اسے ضرور معاف کردیں ہم نے اپنے نفسوں پر ظلم کیا تو ہمیں معاف فرما یقینًا تو ہم سے زیادہ اس کا اہل ہے تو نے ہمیں حکم دیا کہ ہم سوالی کو اپنے دروازوں سے نہ ہٹائیں اور میں تیرے حضور سوالی بن کے آیا ہوں پس مجھے دور نہ کر مگر جب میری حاجت پوری کردے تو نے ہمیں حکم دیا کہ جو افراد ہمارے غلام ہیں ہم ان پر احسان کریں۔ اور ہم تیرے غلام ہیں پس ہماری گردنیں آگ سے آزاد فرما۔

O the Shelter I seek whenever I am in misfortune! O my Guardian from my hardship! To You I resort, and with You I appealed for help and sought refuge, And I would never seek anyone but You, nor would I ever request relief but from You, So come to my aid, and relieve me. O One who liberates the captives, accepts the little (of good deeds), and pardons the numerous (of sin), accept from me the little (good) I have done, and forgive for me the numerous (sins I have committed); Indeed, You are the Most Merciful and Oft-forgiving.

اے وقتِ مصیبت میری پناہ گاہ اے سختی کے ہنگام میرے فریاد رس تجھ سے فریاد کرتا ہوں اور تجھ سےفریاد خواہ ہوں میں پناہ چاہتا ہوں تیری نہ کسی اور کی اور سوائے تیرے کسی سے کشائش وآسائش کا طالب نہیں ہوں پس میری فریاد سن اور رہائی دے اے وہ جو قیدی کو چھڑاتا ہے اور بہت سارے گناہ معاف کرتا ہے میرے تھوڑے عمل کو قبول فرما اور میرے بہت سارے گناہ معاف کردے بے شک تو بہت رحم کرنے والا بہت بخشنے والا ہے۔

O my Lord! I ask You to grant me a faith that You endure my heart on, And a true certainty in believing so that I may ascertain that indeed nothing will happen to me except for what You have destined for me, And award me contentment with whatever You have apportioned for me, O the Most Merciful of the merciful.

اے معبود! میں تجھ سے ایسا ایمان و یقین مانگتا ہوں جو میرے دل میں جما رہے یہاں تک کہ میں سمجھوں کہ مجھے کوئی چیز نہیں پہنچتی سوائے اس کے جو تو نے میرے لئے لکھی ہے اور مجھے اس زندگی پر شاد رکھ جو تو نے میرے لئے قرار دی اے سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے۔

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.

اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
