Allahumma Qarrib-ni
اَللّٰھُمَّ قَرِّبْنِیْ
One of the short duas for the days of the month of Ramazan, each asking for a particular thing on its own day.
This one asks for three: to be brought nearer to Allah’s pleasure, to be kept far from His anger and His punishment, and to be given the means to recite His verses — the Qur’an being the month’s own work. It asks all of it by His mercy, and addresses Him at the end as the Most Merciful of the merciful.
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰھُمَّ قَرِّبْنِیْ فِیْہِ اِلٰی مَرْضَاتِکَ وَجَنِّبْنِیْ فِیْہِ مِنْ سَخْطِکَ وَنِقْمَاتِکَ وَوَفِّقْنِیْ فِیْہِ لِقَرَآئَۃِ اٰیَاتِکَ بِرَحْمَتِکَ یَااَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ۔
Allaahumma qarrib-nee feehe ilaa mar-zaate-ka wa jannib-nee feehe min sakhte-ka wa niq-maate-ka wa waffiq-nee feehe le-qaraaa-a-te aayaate-ka be-rahmate-ka yaa ar-hamar raahe-meen.
O Allah! On this day, take me closer towards Your pleasure, keep me away from Your anger and punishment, grant me the opportunity to recite Your verses (of the Qur'an), by Your mercy, O the most Merciful.
اے معبود!آج کے دن مجھے اپنی رضاؤں کے قریب کر دے آج کے دن مجھے اپنی ناراضگی اور اپنی سزاؤں سے بچائے رکھ اور آج کے دن مجھے اپنی آیات پڑھنے کی توفیق دے اپنی رحمت سے اے سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
