Allahummaf Tahli
اَللّٰھُمَّ افْتَحْ لِیْ
Another of the daily duas of the month of Ramazan. It asks that the doors of the heavens be opened and the doors of the Fire locked, and for help to recite the Qur’an — the month’s own work, since Ramazan is the month in which the Qur’an was sent down.
It addresses Allah as the One who sends down tranquility into the hearts of the believers, and closes with salawat upon Muhammad and his progeny.
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰھُمَّ افْتَحْ لِیْ فِیْہِ اَبْوَابَ الْجِنَانِ وَاَغْلِقْ عَنِّیْ فِیْہِ اَبْوَابَ النِّیْرَانِ وَوَفِّقْنِیْ فِیْہِ لِتِلَاوَۃِ الْقُرْاٰنِ یَامُنْزِلَ السَّکِیْنَۃِ فِیْ قُلُوْبِ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ۔
Allaahum-maf tah lee feehe abwaa-bal; je-naane wa agh-liq a’nnee feehe abwaa-ban nee-raane wa waffaq-nee feehe le-telaa-watil quraane yaa munze-las sakee-nate fee qoloo-bil mo-me-neena.
O Allah! On this day, open for me the doors of the heavens, and lock the doors of Hell from me, help me to recite the Qur'an, O the One who sends down tranquility into the hearts of believers.
اے معبود! آج میرے لئے جنت کے دروازے کھول دے اور آج مجھ پر جہنم کے دروازے بند فرما دے اور آج مجھے قرآن پڑھنے کی توفیق دے اے ایمان داروں کے دلوں کو تسلی بخشنے والے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
