Maarefat-e-Kabeerدُعاء معرفت کبیر

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

O Allah introduce Yourself to me. For if You don’t introduce Yourself to me I will not recognize Your Prophet. O Allah introduce Your Messenger to me for if You don’t introduce Your Messenger to me I will not recognize Your Proof. O Allah introduce Your proof to me for if You don’t introduce Your proof to me I will deviate in my religion. O Allah don’t let me die the death of ignorance and do not turn my heart after guidance. O Allah when you have guided me to the guardianship of the one whose obedience is incumbent on me who is the master of Your affair after Your Messenger. Peace be on him and his progeny. So I became attached to the master of your affair, Amirul Momineen, Hasan, Husain, Ali, Muhammad, Ja’far, Musa, Ali, Muhammad, Ali, Hasan and Hujjat al-Qaim Mahdi, Your bliss be on them all.

اے معبود! مجھ کو اپنی ذات کی معرفت کرا کہ یقیناً اگر تو نے مجھے اپنی معرفت نہ کرائی تو میں تیرے رسولؐ کو نہ پہچان سکوں گا اے معبود !مجھے اپنے رسولؐ کی معرفت کرا کہ یقیناً اگر تو نے مجھے اپنے رسولؐ کی معرفت نہ کرائی تو میں تیری حجت کو نہ پہچان پاؤں گا اے معبود!مجھے اپنی حجتؑ کی معرفت کرا یقیناً اگر تو نے مجھے اپنی حجت کی معرفت نہ کرائی تو میں دین سے بھٹک جاؤں گا۔ اے معبود! مجھے جاہلیت کی موت نہ دے اور میرے دل کو ٹیڑھا نہ ہونے دے جب کہ تو نے مجھے ہدایت دی۔ اے معبود! جیسے تو نے مجھے ان کی ولایت سے آگاہ کیا جن کی پیروی مجھ پر واجب کی ہے ان کی ولایت جو تیرے رسولؐ کے بعد تیرے والیانِ امرؑ ہیں تیری رحمتیں ہوں ان پر اور ان کی آلؑ پر یہ اس لیے کیا کہ میں تیرے والیانِ امرؑ کی ولایت قبول کروں اور وہ ہیں امیر المومنین علیؑ ابن ابی طالبؑ اور حسنؑ ،حسینؑ ، علیؑ، محمدؑ، جعفرؑ، موسیٰؑ،علیؑ، محمدؑ، علیؑ، حسنؑ اور حجۃ القائم مہدیؑ ان سب پر تیری رحمتیں ہوں۔

O Allah, keep me steadfast on Your religion, keep me prepared for Your obedience all the time and keep my heart soft for the master of Your affair. Save me from those trials in which You involve Your creatures. And keep me steadfast on the obedience of Your Wali whom You have concealed from the view of Your creatures. By Your permission he is absent from Your creation, and he is waiting for Your command and You are the learned without being taught, about the time when the circumstances of Your Wali will be reformed and when he will reappear and the veil of occultation shall be opened. Then give me patience so that I don’t make haste in what You have delayed or that I be inclined to the delay of that which You want to hasten. And that I do not ask of the exposition of what You have concealed. Nor search for that which You have concealed. Or that I should be dissatisfied with what You have decreed. And I should not say why and how the hidden Imam is not reappearing while the world is fraught with injustice and oppression. I have entrusted all my affairs to You.

اے معبود! مجھے اپنے دین پر ثابت وقائم رکھ مجھے اپنی اطاعت میں لگا دے اپنے ولی امرؑ کے لیے میرے دل کو نرم کردے مجھے اس چیز سے بچا کہ جس سے تو اپنی مخلوق کو آزماتا ہے مجھے اپنے ولی امرؑ کی پیروی پر قائم رکھ جسے تو نے اپنی مخلوق سے پوشیدہ کردیا اسے اپنے حکم سے خلق کی نگاہوں سے اوجھل کیا اور وہ تیرے فرمان کا منتظر ہے اور تو بغیر بتانے والے کےاس وقت کو جانتا ہے جس میں تیرے ولی امرؑکے لیے بہتری ہے کہ تو اسے اپنے امر کو ظاہر کرنے کا حکم دے اسے پردے سے باہر لائے۔ پس مجھے اس معاملے میں صبر عطا فرماتا کہ جس کام میں تو دیر کرے میں جلدی نہ کروں اور جس میں تو جلدی کرے اس میں دیر نہ کروں جسے تو پوشیدہ رکھے اسے ظاہر نہ کروں اور جسے تو چھپائے اس کا ذکر نہ کروں تیرے طریقۂ کار میں تکرار نہ کروں اور کیوں اور کیسےکا سوال نہ کروں کہ کیوں ولی امرؑ ظہور نہیں فرماتے جب کہ زمین ظلم وجور سے بھری ہوئی ہے بلکہ میں اپنے تمام امور تیرے سپرد کردوں۔

O Allah, I ask You to let me see the incomparable elegance of Your Wali when his rules shall be enforced. I know that the proof, argument, evidence, exigency, intention and strength is all for You only. So do this favor on me and the believers that we see Your Wali Amr. Your bliss be on him and his progeny. In this way should His command become apparent and his guidance should become clear. He is one who brings out from misguidance to guidance and one who cures from the malady of ignorance. O Lord, reveal his countenance, make his pillars firm and include us among those who witness his incomparable elegance. And give us the good sense (taufeeq) to serve him. And that we may die on his faith and are raised in his army. O Allah, protect him from the evil of all that You have created, brought from nonentity to being, originated and given form. And protect the Imam from the evil that comes to him from the front and from behind. From right and the left. From above and from below. Keep him in Your protection. In a protection after which none can harm him. And through him protect the Prophet and the successor of the Prophet.

اے معبود! تجھ سےسوال ہے کہ اپنے ولی امرؑ کا دیدار کرا ظاہر بظاہرجب اس کا حکم جاری ہو اور مجھے اس کاعلم ہو کیوں کہ تو ہی ہے اختیار وقوت والا اور تو مالک ہے دلیل حجت ارادے طاقت اور قوت کا پس ایسا ہی کر میرے لیے اور تمام مومنوں کے لیے تاکہ ہم ولی امرؑ کو اپنی آنکھوں سے دیکھیں تیری رحمتیں ہوں اس پر جب وہ ظاہراً گفتگو کرے روشن دلائل دے گمراہی سے نکالے اورجہالت سے بچائے۔ اے پروردگار! اس کا کھلا دیدار کرا ان کے قانون کو محکم بنااور ہمیں ان لوگوں میں قرار دے جن کی آنکھیں ان کے دیدار سے ٹھنڈی ہوں ہمیں ان کی خدمت میں کمر بستہ رکھ ہمیں ان کے دین پر موت دے اور ہمیں ان کے گروہ میں محشور فرما۔ اے معبود! امامؑ کو ہر چیزکے شر سے بچا جو تو نے پیدا فرمائی جسے رواں کیا جسے برآمد کیا جسے ایجاد کیا اور جسے صورت دی ہے اور امامؑ کی حفاظت کر سامنے سے پیچھے سے اس کے دائیں سے اس کے بائیں سے اس کے اوپر سے اور اس کے پاؤں کے نیچے سے اپنی حفاظت کے ساتھ کہ جس کی تو حفاظت کرے وہ ضائع نہیں ہوتا امامؑ کی ذات میں اپنے رسولؐ اور اپنے رسولؐ کے وصی کی حفاظت فرما ان پر اور ان کی آلؑ پر سلام۔

O Allah, give the Imam of the Age a long life. Increase his lifespan. Help him in the Wilayat and rulership that you will grant to him. He is the guided one, one who will establish the truth, the pure, pious, sincere, satisfied, pleasing, patient, one who makes effort in the way of Allah and the thankful one. O Allah, do not destroy our certainty due to the prolongation of his occultation and due to lack of news about him. Give us perfect faith in his remembrance, in his awaiting and in him. Do not make us careless of our duty of praying for him and for invoking divine blessings on him. Do not make us fall in despair for his reappearance and we should have firm certainty in his advent like we are certain of the advent of Your Messenger. And like we have faith in all that was revealed on the Prophet.

اے معبود! امام عصرؑ کی عمر دراز کر ان کے عہد کو طول دے اس کی مدد کر اس کام میں جس کے لیے اسے والی وحاکم بنایا ہے اور اس پر اپنی مہربانیوں میں اضافہ کر کہ بے شک وہ رہبرہے، راہ یافتہ ،قائمؑ، ہدایت پایا ہوا، پاکیزہ ہے ،باتقویٰ پاک شدہ ہے، باصفا ، راضی ہے، راضی کیا ہوا، صبر والا ہے، شکر گزار اور کوشش کرنے والا۔ اے معبود! امامؑ پر ہمارا یقین زائل نہ ہو اس کی غیبت کی مدت طول پکڑنے اور ہم تک اس کی خبر نہ آنے کی وجہ سے ہم بھول نہ جائیں اس کا ذکر اس کا انتظار اور اس پر ایمان رکھنا اس کے ظہور پر ہمارا یقین محکم رہے ہم اس کے لیے دعا کریں اور اس پر درود بھیجیں تا کہ ہم ان کی طولانی غیبت کے باعث ان کے قیام سے مایوس نہ ہوں اور اس پر ہمارا یقین ایسا ہی ہو جیسے تیرے رسولؐ کے قیام پر یقین ہے اور اس کلام پر بھی جو تیری وحی و تنزیل کے ذریعہ ان پر اترا ہے تیرا ان پر اور ان کی آلؑ پر درود و سلام ہو۔

O Allah! Make our faith in these things strong. Till You make me walk the path of guidance by the Great Proof and the middle path. Give us the capability of his obedience and keep us steadfast in following him. Include us among his forces, his friends and his helpers. And make us among those who are satisfied with each of his actions. And don’t deprive us of this bounty; neither in the lifetime nor at the time of death. Till we die on the same faith and certainty. Make us not among those who doubt or those who break the covenant or those who waver in doubt or those who deny. O Allah, hasten his reappearance and help him and help those who help him. Abandon those who desert him and destroy those who are inimical to him and those who deny him. Through his being make the true religion apparent. Through him destroy falsehood. Through him save the believers from degradation. Inhabit the cities through his blessings. Eliminate the oppressors of disbelief through him. Destroy the strength of the leaders of the misguided ones and humiliate the tyrants and disbelievers through him. Through him destroy all the hypocrites, oath-breakers, irreligious that live in the east and the west of the earth, on land and on water, in plains or hills so that neither their cities should remain nor their vestiges.

پس ہمارے دلوں کو امامؑ پر ایمان میں محکم کر دے تاکہ تو ہمیں ان کے ذریعہ سے راہِ ہدایت پر رواں کرے، کشادہ تر شاہراہ پر اور درمیانی راستے پر نیز ہمیں امامؑ کی پیروی کی ہمت دے اور اس کے نقش قدم پر قائم رکھ اور ہمیں اس کے گروہ میں قرار دےاور اس کے ساتھیوں میں ،اس کے مددگاروں میں اور اس کے فعل کو پسند کرنے والوں میں قرار دے اور یہ عقیدہ ہم سے نہ چھوٹےہماری زندگی میں اور نہ ہماری موت کے وقت یہاں تک کہ تو ہمیں وفات دے اور ہم اسی عقیدے پر ہوں نہ اس میں شک لائیں نہ عہد کو توڑیں نہ اس میں ملاوٹ کریں اورنہ ہی جھٹلائیں۔ اے معبود!امامؑ کی جلد کشائش وآسائش فرما مدد دے کر اس کوطاقت وربنا اس کے دوستوں کی مدد فرما اسے چھوڑ جانے والوں کو چھوڑ دے عذاب بھیج اس پر جو اس سے دشمنی کرے اور اسے جھٹلائے اس کے ہاتھوں حق کوظاہر کر اس کے ذریعہ ظلم کو مٹا دے اور اس کے وسیلے سے اپنے باایمان بندوں کو ذلت اورپستی سے نجات دلا اور شہروں کو آباد کر۔ اس کی تلوار سے کفر کے سرداروں کو قتل کرا اور گمراہی کے سالاروں کا زور توڑ دے امامؑ کے ہاتھوں سرکشوں اور کافروں کو ذلت دے اس کے ذریعہ منافقوں کی جڑ کاٹ دے عہد شکنوں کی اور تمام مخالفوں اور بے دینوں کی بنیاداکھاڑ دے جو موجود ہیں زمین کے مشرقی اور مغربی علاقوں میں میدانوں میں سمندروں میں جنگلوں اور پہاڑوں میں یہاں تک کہ ان کی کوئی بستی نہ رہنے دے اور ان کا نشان تک نہ چھوڑ۔

And that Your cities may be purified from them. And cure the hearts of Your servants from them, and through the Imam of the Age revive all that has been destroyed from Your religion, all the laws that have been changed and all Your practices that have been altered. Through the Imam reform all these things so that Your religion get a new lease of life and becomes perfect. The divine laws should become worthy of being followed without any hesitation and innovation. Due to his just rule the fire of disbelief should be extinguished because he is the one whom You have kept especially for Yourself. Whom You chose for helping Your religion. You chose him for Your knowledge and protected him from sins and immune from all defects. And You informed him of the secrets of the Unseen and sent Your bounties upon him. You kept him away from every impurity and clean from every ignorance and disobedience.

یعنی اپنے شہروں کو ان سےپاک کر اور ان کی نابودی سے اپنے بندوں کے دل ٹھنڈے کردے امامؑ کے ذریعہ اس چیز کو زندہ کر جو تیرے دین میں سے مٹ گئی اور درستی کر اس کی جو تیرے حکم اور تیرے طریقے میں سے ردّ وبدل ہوا ہے یہاں تک کہ امامؑ کے ذریعہ تیرا دین پلٹ آئے اور وہ تازہ و درست و صحیح ہو جائے کہ۔ جس میں نہ کوئی کجی ہو اور نہ کوئی بدعت ہو یہاں تک کہ تو امامؑ کےہاتھوں کافروں کی بھڑکائی ہو ئی آگ بجھا دے کیوں کہ وہ تیرا ایسا بندہ ہے کہ جس کو تو نے اپنے لئے خاص اور مخصوص کیا ہے اسے اپنے دین کی نصرت کے لئے پسند کیا اور اپنے علوم دے کر برگزیدہ بنایا تو نے اس کو گناہوں سے محفوظ کیا نقائص سے پاک و صاف رکھااور اپنے رازوں سے آگاہ کیا تو نے اس پر انعام کیا پلیدی کو اس سے دور رکھا اور آلودگی سے پاک فرمایا

O Allah, so bless him and his forefathers, the pure Imams, and his chosen Shia, and bring them, of their hopes, the best of what they hope for; and make this (supplication) from us pure of all doubt, uncertainty, showing off and seeking repute, so that we intend none but You by it and seek nothing but Your Face by it. O Allah, we complain to You of the loss of our Prophet, the absence of our guardian (wali), the harshness of the times against us, the onset of trials upon us, the enemies' backing one another (against us), the multitude of our enemies and the fewness of our number. O Allah, so relieve that with a victory from You that You hasten, a help from You that You make mighty, and a just Imam whom You make manifest, O God of truth, (Amen), Lord of the worlds.

پس۔ اے معبود!اس پر اور اس کے بزرگ پاک ائمہؑ پر رحمت بھیج اس کے پاک دل شیعوں پر رحمت کر اوران کی وہ آرزوئیں پوری کر جو وہ رکھتے ہیں ہماری اس دعا کو پاک و خالص رکھ ہر طرح کے شک وملاوٹ اور دکھاوے اور شہرت طلبی سے یہاں تک کہ ہم صرف تجھی کو مانیں اور اس میں تیرے سوا کسی کا تصور نہ کریں۔ اے معبود! ہم تجھ سے فریاد کرتے ہیں کہ ہمارا پیغمبرؐ گزر گیا ہمارا امامؑ پوشیدہ ہے زمانہ ہم پر سختیاں کر رہا ہے فتنوں نے گھیر رکھا ہے اور دشمن ہم پر حاوی ہوئے جاتے ہیں جب کہ ہمارے دشمن زیادہ اور دوست کم ہیں پس اے معبود! ہماری یہ مصیبتیں دور فرما اپنی طرف سے فتح کے ساتھ اس میں جلدی کر اپنی مدد سے اسے غلبہ دے اور امامؑ عادل کو ظاہر فرما اے سچے معبود ایسا ہی ہو۔

O Allah, we ask You to permit Your friend (wali) to make Your justice manifest among Your servants and to slay Your enemies in Your lands, until You leave, O Lord, no pillar of oppression but You break it, no remnant but You annihilate it, no strength but You weaken it, no support but You demolish it, no edge but You blunt it, no weapon but You dull it, no banner but You lower it, no brave fighter but You slay him and no army but You forsake it. And strike them, O Lord, with Your crushing stone, smite them with Your cutting sword and Your might, which You do not turn back from the guilty people, and punish Your enemies, the enemies of Your religion and the enemies of Your Messenger, Your blessings be upon him and his family, at the hand of Your friend (wali) and the hands of Your believing servants.

اے معبود! ہم تجھ سے عرض کرتے ہیں کہ تو اپنے ولیؑ کو اجازت دے تاکہ وہ تیرے بندوں میں اصولِ عدل کو رائج کرے اور تیرے شہروں میں جو لوگ تیرے دشمن ہیں ان کو قتل کرے تاکہ اے پروردگار تو کسی ستم کرنے والے کو نہ چھوڑے مگر یہ کہ اس کی کمر توڑ دے نہ کوئی باقی رہے مگر تو اسے نابود کردے کوئی طاقت ور نہ ہو مگر تو اسے پست کردے کوئی عمارت نہ ہو مگر تو اسے ویران کردے کوئی تلوار نہ ہو مگر تو اسے ناکارہ بنادے کوئی ہتھیار نہ ہو مگر تو اسے بیکار کردے کوئی پرچم نہ ہو مگر تو اسے گرا دے کوئی بہادر نہ ہو مگر تو اسے قتل کردے کوئی لشکر نہ ہو ،مگر تو اسے تباہ کردے۔ اور اے پروردگار! اپنی قدر ت سے ان پر بڑے بڑے پتھر برسا ان لوگوں کو اپنی تیز دھار تلوار سے مار اور ان کی سخت گرفت کر کہ جس سے کوئی بدکار گروہ بچ نہیں سکتا پروردگار اپنے دشمنوں کو، اپنے دین کے دشمنوں کو اور اپنے رسولؐ (تیرا درود ہو ان پراور ان کی آل پر ) کے دشمنوں کو اپنے ولیؑ اور مومن بندوں کے ہاتھوں سخت عذاب دے۔

O Lord, suffice for Your Hujjat and Your Wali in the earth from the fear of their enemies. And nullify the plots that they devise for him. Imprison in the circle of evil one who intends bad for the Qaim. Cut off from them their supplies and put awe into the hearts of his enemies. Make the steps of his enemies waver. Seize them openly and suddenly and send down severe chastisement on them. Degrade them among Your servants. Make them accursed in Your cities. And put them in the lowest level of Hell. And send your worst punishment for them. Fasten them with fire and fill the graves of their dead with fire. And tie them with the fire of Hell. They are the same who considered Prayer unimportant, who followed their base desires and misled Your servants. O Allah, revive the Quran through Your Wali. Show us its effulgence which is permanent and in which there is no darkness. Enliven the dead hearts through him. Cure the hearts which are full of malice. And through him bring together on truth different selfish desires. Through him revive the laws that have been made obsolete so that the truth becomes triumphant and justice is established.

اے معبود!اپنے ولی کی حفاظت فرما اور اپنی حجتؑ کی حفاظت فرما روئے زمین پر دشمنوں کے خوف اور فریب کاروں کے فریب سے اور دھوکا دینے والوں کو دھوکے میں رکھ جواس سے بدی کا ارادہ کرے اس کو بدیوں میں پھنسا دے امامؑ کے ذریعہ انہیں اپنےمرکز سے جدا کردے اس کا رعب ان کے دلوں پر جمادے ان کے قدم اکھیڑ دے ان کو بیچ میدان اچانک پکڑ اور ان کو سخت ترین عذاب دے ان کو اپنے بندوں کے روبرو رسوا کر ان کے شہروں میں ان پر لعنت بھیج ان کو دوزخ کے نچلے طبقے میں ڈال ان پر سخت عذاب مسلط کر دے ان کو آگ میں پھینک دے ان کے مردوں کی قبریں آگ سے بھر دے کہ آگ کے شعلے ان کو جلائیں کیوں کہ انہوں نے نماز کی پروا نہ کی خواہشوں کے پیچھے چلتے رہے تیرے بندوں کو بھٹکاتے پھرتے اور تیرے شہروں کو اجاڑتے رہے۔ اور اے معبود! اپنے ولیؑ کے ذریعہ قرآن کو زندہ کر امامؑ کے دائمی نور کا دیدار کرا کہ پھر وہ اوجھل نہ ہو اس کے ذریعہ بے نور دلوں کو زندہ کر اس سے دلوں میں بھرے کینے کو دور فرما امام کی برکت سے مختلف آراء کو حق پر متفق کر دے اس کے ہاتھوں ترک شدہ حدیں قائم فرمااور بھولے ہوئے احکام نافذ کرا دے یہاں تک کہ ہر حق ظاہر ہوجائے اور ہر عادلانہ حکم ظاہر ہو کر رہے۔

O Lord, include us among his helpers. That we may strengthen his rule and be of those who follow his commands and are satisfied with each of his actions. Make us of those who submit to his commands. Make us such that we have no need of dissimulation before Your creatures. O Lord, You are the only one who saves from every harm. You answer the prayer of the helpless. You save from great sorrow and pain. Thus O Lord, remove every harm from Your Wali. Appoint him as Your Caliph on the earth as You have decided about him. O Lord do not make me of the adversaries of Aale Muhammad and do not make me among their enemies. Don’t make me one who is displeased and angry with Aale Muhammad. Thus I seek Your refuge from this; so please give me refuge. And I seek Your protection, so protect me. O Allah bless Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad and make me successful with them in the world and the hereafter and make me from those who are proximate to You.

اور اے پروردگار! ہمیں اس کے ساتھیوں اس کی حکومت کو محکم کرنے والوں اس کے حکم پر عمل کرنے والوں اس کے فعل پر راضی ہونے والوں اس کے احکام کو تسلیم کرنے والوں میں قرار دے اوران لوگوں میں قرار دے جن کو مخلوق کے سامنے تقیہ کی حاجت نہیں اور اے پروردگار! وہ تو ہی ہے جو سختی دور کرتا ہے اور بے چارے کی دعا قبول کرتا ہے جب وہ تجھے پکارے اور اسے بہت بڑی مصیبت سے نجات دیتا ہے پس اپنے ولی سے سختی دور فرما اور اس کو زمین میں اپنا خلیفہ قرار دے جیسے تو نےاس کا ذمہ لیا ہے۔ اے معبود! مجھے آل محمدؑ کے مخالفوں میں سے قرار نہ دے مجھے آل محمد علیہم سلام کے دشمنوں میں سے قرار نہ دے اور مجھے آل محمد علیہم السلام کے ساتھ کینہ رکھنے اور ان پر غصہ کرنے والو ں میں سے قرار نہ دے پس ان باتوں سے تیری پناہ لیتا ہوں اورتجھ سے امان چاہتا ہوں مجھے امان دے اے معبود ! محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر درود بھیج اور ان کے واسطے سے مجھے اپنے یہاں کامیاب بنا دے دنیا اور آخرت میں اور اپنے نزدیکیوں میں رکھ ایسا ہی ہو اے جہانوں کےپروردگار۔

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.

اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
