Sayyid Ali ibn Taaus in Muhaj al-Da'awat said: we have narrated through the chain of Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Ibrahim Al-Joafi popularly known as Saaban. The occultation of Imam Al-Mahdi peace be on him was mentioned there in, I said: what shall Your followers do? He said: Be aware of supplication and expectation of relief, verily knowledge shall appear to you, then you give praise to God and hold fast with what appeared to you I said: with what shall we supplicate? سید بزرگوار علی بن طاؤوس مہج الدعوات میں فرماتے ہیں کہ محمد بن احمد جعفی سے سند کے ساتھ روایت بیان کرتاہوں وہ حضرت مہدی کی غیبت کی حدیث کے ضمن میں ائمہ معصومین سے نقل کرتاہے میں نے عرض کیا کہ آپکے شیعہ اس زمانہ میں کس طرح رفتار کریں حضرت نے فرمایا تمہارے اوپر لازم ہے کہ دعا کریں اور فرج کا انتظار کریں چونکہ جلد از جلد تمہارے لئے اس کی نشانی آشکار ہوگئی جب وہ علامت آشکار ہو تو خدا کے لئے حمد و ثنا کر اور جو کچھ آشکار ہوا اس کو تھام لو۔ میں نے عرض کیا کونسی دعا پڑھ لوں حضرت نے فرمایا کہ پڑھو۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ عَرَّفْتَنِيْ نَفْسَكَ، وَعَرَّفْتَنِيْ رَسُوْلَكَ، وَعَرَّفْتَنِيْ مَلَآئِكَتَكَ وَعَرَّفْتَنِيْ نَبِيَّكَ، وَعَرَّفْتَنِيْ وُلَاةَ اَمْرِكَ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا اٰخِذَ اِلَّا مَا اَعْطَيْتَ، وَلَا وَاقِيَ اِلَّا مَا وَقَيْتَ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَاتُغَيِّبْنِيْ عَنْ مَنَازِلِ اَوْلِيَآئِكَ، وَلَاتُزِغْ قَلْبِيْ بَعْدَ اِذْ هَدَيْتَنِيْ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اهْدِنِيْ لِوِلَايَةِ مَنِ افْتَرَضْتَ طَاعَتَهُ۔
Allaahumma anta 'arraftanee nafsaka, wa'arraftanee rasoolaka, wa'arraftanee malaa'ikataka wa'arraftanee nabiyyaka, wa'arraftanee wulaata amrik.
Allaahumma laa aakhiza illaa maa a'tayta, walaa waaqiya illaa maa waqayt.
Allaahumma laa tughayyibnee 'an manaazili awliyaa'ika, walaatuzigh qalbee ba'da iz hadaytanee.
Allaahumma ihdinee liwilaayati mani iftaradta taa'atah.
O Allah! You have defined Yourself to me and have defined Your Messenger to me, You have defined Your Angels to me, You have defined Your Prophet to me and You have defined to me the leaders of Your affairs. O Allah! No one shall take except from what You have given, no one is rescued except those You have preserved. O Allah! Don’t deprive me from the rank of Your intimate friends, and don’t change my mind after being guided. O Allah! Guide me to the guardianship of those you have made incumbent for me to follow.
اے اللہ! تو نے مجھے اپنی معرفت عطا فرمائی، اور تو نے مجھے اپنے رسولؐ کی پہچان دی، اور تو نے مجھے اپنے فرشتوں کی پہچان کرائی، اور تو نے مجھے اپنے نبیؐ کی معرفت عطا فرمائی، اور تو نے مجھے اپنے امر کے والیوں کی پہچان دی۔ اے اللہ! لینے والا کوئی نہیں مگر وہی جو تو عطا کرے، اور بچانے والا کوئی نہیں مگر وہی جسے تو حفاظت میں رکھے۔ اے اللہ! مجھے اپنے اولیاء کے مقامات سے غافل یا محروم نہ کرنا، اور ہدایت دینے کے بعد میرے دل کو کج نہ کرنا۔ اے اللہ! مجھے اُس کی ولایت کی ہدایت عطا فرما جس کی اطاعت تو نے مجھ پر فرض قرار دی ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
