One should sacrifice a camel. If not possible then a cow. If that is also not possible then one should sacrifice a sheep.
حتٰی الامکان اُونٹ کی قربانی کرنا چاہیئے، اُونٹ ممکن نہ ہو تو گائے اور وہ بھی ممکن نہ ہو تو گوسفند۔
The animal to be sacrificed should be healthy.
قربانی کا جانور فربہ ہو۔
Camel and Cow should be Female and if the animal is Sheep or Goat then it should be Male.
قربانی اگر اونٹ یا گائے ہے تو مادہ، اگر بھیڑ، بکری ہے تو نر ہو۔
The Camels fore limbs should be tied till the knees. A person should stand on the right side and strike a spear, knife or a dagger on its neck deeply. The camel is sacrificed standing.
اگر اونٹ کی قربانی کر رہا ہے تو اسے کھڑا کرکے نحر کرنا چاہیئے، دونوں اگلے پیر گھٹنوں تک باندھے اور داہنی طرف کھڑے ہو کر گردن کے نچلے حصہ پر چاقو، نیزہ یا خنجر بھونک دے۔

امام جعفر صادقؑ نے فرمایا: قربانی کے جانور کو رو بہ قبلہ کرو اور ذبح یا نحر کرتے وقت یہ دُعا پڑھو۔۔۔
وَجَّہْتُ وَجْہِیَ لِلَّذِیْ فَطَرَ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضَ حَنِیْفًا مُسْلِمًا وَمَا اَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِیْنَ اِنَّ صَلَاتِیْ وَنُسُكِیْ وَمَحْیَایَ وَمَمَاتِیْ لِلہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ لَا شَرِیْكَ لَہٗ وَبِذَالِكَ اُمِرْتُ وَاَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِیْنَ۔
اَللّٰہُمَّ مِنْكَ وَلَكَ بِسْمِ اللهِ وَاللهُ اَكْبَرُ اَللّٰہُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنِّیْ۔
Wajjahtu wajhiya lillazee fatara as-samaawaati wal-arda haneefan musliman wamaa anaa mina al-mushrikeena inna salaatee wanusukee wamahyaaya wamamaatee lillaahi rabbi al-'aalameena laa shareeka lahoo wabizaalika umirtu wa-anaa mina al-muslimeen.
Allaahumma minka walaka bismi allaahi wallaahu akbaru allaahumma taqabbal minnee.
I turn my attention towards the One who has created the heavens and the earth as a true believer and a Muslim; and I am not among the polytheists, My prayer, hady, life and death are for Allah, the Sustainer of the worlds. He has no partner and so have I been ordered and I am of those who have submitted to You. O Allah all this is from and for You. I commence in the Name of Allah and Allah is great. O Allah! accept my devotions.
میں نے اپنا رخ اس اللہ کی طرف کیا جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا، میں باطل سے کترانے والا مسلمان ہوں، مشرکین میں سے نہیں ہوں، یقینًا میری نماز، میری عبادت، میری زندگی اور میری موت سب کچھ اللہ کے لئے ہے جو تمام عالمین کا پالنے والا ہے، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں ہے، مجھے یہی حکم دیا گیا ہے اور میں مسلمانوں میں سے ہوں، خدایا! یہ سب تجھ سے اور تیرے لئے ہے۔ بسم اللہ و اللہ اکبر اے اللہ تو میری طرف سے اسے قبول کر۔
One should sacrifice himself and if not possible then keep his hands over the hands of person sacrificing it and say…
خود قربانی کرے، اگر خود نہ کر سکتا ہو تو ذبح کرنے والے کے ہاتھ پر اپنا ہاتھ رکھے اور کہے۔۔۔
اَللّٰہُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنِّیْ كَمَا تَقَبَّلْتَ مِنْ اِبْرَاہِیْمَ خَلِیْلِكَ وَمُوْسٰی كَلِیْمِكَ وَمُحَمَّدٍ حَبِیْبِكَ صَلَّی اللهُ عَلَیْہِ وَعَلَیْہِمْ۔
Allaahumma taqabbal minnee kamaa taqabbalta min ibraaheema khaleelika wamoosaa kaleemika wamuhammadin habeebika sallaa allaahu 'alayhi wa'alayhim.
O Allah! accept my devotions, as you accepted from Ibrahim Khalilullah, and from Musa Kalimullah, and from Muhammad Habibullah (s.a.w.a).
خدایا! تو میری طرف سے قبول کر جیسے تونے اپنے خلیل ابراہیمؑ کی طرف سے قبول کیا اور اپنے کلیم موسٰیؑ اور اپنے حبیب حضرت محمدؐ کی طرف سے قبول کیا۔
Then do Taqseer or Halaq.
پھر تقصیر یا حلق کریں۔
