مستحب ہے کہ رو بہ قبلہ ہو کر زبان پر نامِ خدا لائے اور پہلے داہنی طرف سے سر کا اگلا حصہ مونڈے اور دُعا پڑھے۔۔۔
اَللّٰہُمَّ اَعْطِنِیْ بِكُلِّ شَعْرَۃٍ نُوْرًا یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَۃِ۔
Allaahumma a'tinee bikulli sha'ratin nooran yawma al-qiyaamah.
O Allah! grant me on the Day of Judgement light for every hair.
خدایا! مجھے قیامت میں ہر بال کے بدلہ میں ایک نور عطا کر۔

وَحَسَنَاتٍ مُضَاعَفَاتٍ وَكَفِّرْ عَنِّیْ السَّیِّئَاتِ اِنَّكَ عَلٰی كُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرٌ۔
اَللّٰہُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Wahasanaatin mudaa'afaatin wakaffir 'annee as-sayyi'aati innaka 'alaa kulli shay'in qadeer.
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
And (grant me) multiplied good deeds, and remove from me (wipe away) the evil deeds. Surely You have power over everything. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
نیکیوں میں اضافہ فرما اور میری برائیوں کا کفارہ قرار دے بے شک تو ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔ پروردگار! محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر درود و رحمت نازل فرما۔

یہ بھی مستحب ہے کہ اپنے بالوں کو میدان منٰی میں اپنے خیمہ کے اندر دفن کرے، بہتر ہے کہ سر منڈانے کے بعد داڑھی اور مونچھوں کو بھی ہلکا کردے اور ناخن کاٹے۔
